“Fuck.” There really was no need to be saying such thoughts aloud, but it was all Keisotsu could really coherently come out with when one of his migraines would come about. Pounding pain drilling away at his skull just had to make him stop moving around for a moment, stop everything before he crashed onto the floor from dizziness. His hand, cool to the touch, was holding onto his forehead and about the only thing keeping him from actually crashing. He kept his breathe even, exhaling out cold clouds of white mist. The bartender was trying to cool himself off with the use of his quirk, really the only good thing that his quirk was good for these days. Other than keeping the beer cold when the cooler broke down. “Hey, Susu. You don’t look too good man.” “I feel like shit.” Dark eyes didn’t even pay attention to the patron, a regular at the bar. Just a deep breathe in…. And out. And then maybe, he would be ready to deal with people. He realized he had a beer in his free hand, and then looked back to the customer at the bar. He sighed once again and muttered an apology, placing the bottle on the counter. The man looked back at him, shaking his head. “You probably need it more than I do.” He said, nodding his head to the bartender. And with that, the man gave a little wave as he headed out the door. The night was getting late and it was time for him to go home, likely to bed and some sleep. If only he could do the same, sleep sounded so nice right about now. What would it matter anyway? The bar was practically empty, save for the bartender himself. It was another slow night in the run down place. Stylized like a western bar, dark paint covered the walls with wood border, chipping paint at the ends. The floors as well were a dark wood, knicks and scratches here and there, remnants of bar skirmishes or sometimes worse. The bar itself took up most of the side wall, the wood paneling and counter not faring much better than the floor. Chairs were haphazardly strewn about the place, some fully out and others actually pushed in by a drunk who wasn’t too incoherent. In one corner a billards table with peeling felt, the black eight ball the solitary sphere in the center of the table. In another corner, a beaten, red velvet couch that had seen much better days and had served too many drunks as a place to pass out. It surely looked appealing to the lone bartender, whose headache didn’t seem to want to go away. His boss always recommended an herbal remedy, tea and sleep. He looked to the cold beer bottle on the counter, it was the cheap stuff, the lightweight and low calorie kind. The man who had ordered it was a lightweight, and somehow had the impression that he could get away with drinking something that was like water except alcohol flavored. Keisotsu wasn’t the type to judge, but still… beer was beer. Keisotsu shook his head, there was no way he was letting himself sink that low, no matter how bad he already was. Reaching behind him he grabbed a dark green whiskey bottle, a single malt scotch imported from the Scotland itself. With his other hand he got a shot glass, and then poured himself a double. No ice, but with his quirk the glass developed a white layer of frost. Cold, he liked cold. After all, it tasted like shit, so it was better when it was cold so one couldn’t taste it at all. The result was that his headache got worse. Whether it was actually from the alcohol or just his conscious telling him it was the wrong way to go about it, he didn’t care. Another shot, and then another. It was like water to him, and there was no one to stop him. He body repeated the motions like he was a machine. Drinking on the job was something he admitted he tried not to do, but sometimes it was all he could do to deal with himself and the headaches. The bottle was already halfway gone anyway. He could finish it off and then crash onto the red velvety couch, sleep til morning and then wake up feeling even worse than he did now. It sounded like a horrible plan. He threw his head back and downed another shot. Edited by BeruChan, Aug 13 2016, 07:58 AM.

Gavin was feeling particularly exuberant this night. Strolling in a perky manner down the deserted sidewalk it was one of the better days of his week. The festival had been a rather good paycheck and the school had offered him a retainer for his work well done. It had only been a paper, but Gavin knew that they had an inkling of an idea to his quirk. When some gathered hangovers and suddenly became overly intoxicated it drew some eyes. Yet Gavin looked rather fresh each day, especially strange after drying the bar out in the in the end. Of course he was sneaky when he would pass off the toxin that was alcohol. Terrible injuries it could do to his liver and kidneys, but Gavin didn't have time for that. When it became a bit to much he would just find a sorry looking bloke and use his silver coated tongue to worm his way in. But tonight he needed something new now. The rush from the one night band was what it was. He needed music. The pounding beat washing over him, his body covered in sweat, and something in his arms. Another thing he needed was a wing man. But with barren streets and the clubs unseen it could be tough. But something caught the Brit. The flickering of a neon light grabbed his attention in a rather dark street. A red and white neon formed the drink and name of the bar. Good Taste hmm. I hope it does have that in spades. I need a good kick starter. His hand grasped the door handle and pushed his way into a dimly lite room. Only two people were in the room it seemed. The strewn about, a rather posh red velvet couch, and the two at the bar. One in a stupor and the tender of the bar turned away. Taking a rather large shot he didn't notice him sit down. It was a rather quaint place. Nothing like night he was expecting, but he needed a hype drink. It was rather chilly in here so something with a fruity burn. Dry martini, three measures of Gordon's; one of vodka; half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it over ice, and add a thin slice of lemon peel.Please. The man next time looked to tired to even talk and the bartender was still holding the scotch turned away. Maybe there was nothing here. |

Why couldn’t some people understand that sometimes, he just didn’t feel like dealing them? Keisotsu heard the door open another time as the earlier regular had left, the footsteps making their way to the bar. A chair came out, a presence came to fill it. He heard the voice make an order. The voice itself was an… odd one. There was an accent, a foreigner. The bartender knew it was bad business to ignore the man, but his headache was stubborn enough to remain, a drilling pain pounding away at his skull. His dark eyes didn’t look up to meet the new customer. The cold white mist formed clouds just outside his mouth, his breathing remaining even. “Coming right up.” His voice too, remained forcibly calm. He needed another shot. More scotch wouldn’t solve the problem, but what would it matter? He suffered from migraines all the time, whether it was from his inability to sleep or the fact that he did drink so much he didn’t know nor did he care. He went about to preparing the man’s drink, only glancing at him with his dark blue eyes once. Brown hair, brown eyes and he seemed to wear some kind of laughable smirk. At least someone was having fun that night, when the bartender himself surely wasn’t. It been a while since he heard such a specific order. The bar he worked in usually was one where tired people ordered something to get them wasted, not really caring about the work put behind the drink. But this man, he knew what he wanted, specifically. Perhaps a more feeling Keisotsu would’ve said something about it, but as of now he only really cared about doing what the customer ordered. When finished he would set the martini glass on the bar, lemon slice and all, and push it forward to him without so much as a word. His darks eyes eventually did find the brown orbs of the man at the bar. And he too began to look at the new patron with a more careful second look. Though sitting down, it was obvious he was quite tall. Not quite as tall as the bartender himself, there were few that he ran into that could rival his 6’ 4’’ frame. A slender, handsome face, though his eyes still held a sort of wisdom about him, some more confidence, maybe even cockiness than the bartender first had imagine. Keisotsu allowed himself a sly smile in return, raising his brow in some curiosity that got the better of him. “So… Australian? Haven’t quite heard an accent like that one.” He made his question obvious, after all the westerner’s accent was quite as so. A tourist perhaps? Though as of yet his Japanese wasn’t so bad, perhaps he had been here longer than just a few days, maybe a few months or even years. He looked about as old as Keisotsu himself. A seemingly rare occurrence that he would run into a capable adult, after all it seemed like his life lately had been nothing but filled with random kids or homeless people, or random homeless kids. And so while he waited for an answer, the bartender returned to his own drink, pouring himself another double in the frosted shot glass. They were the only pair remaining in the bar, so at that point, Keisotsu supposed it didn't really matter that he kept drinking in front of the guy. |

The barkeep finally turned to face Gavin. A somber face hidden behind dark hair with sharp features gave a villain in glasses appeal. An interesting man no doubt, but something was off about his aura. A chill to it. A glorious drink now doubt; his custom claim to fame. Drawing the clear glass filled with unassuming liquid the flavor brushed his lips and left a satisfying fruity burn as it went down. Perfection. He licked his lips for that extra bit of flavor. A slight sour to the moment when the bartender mentioned him being Australia. Flashback to the snake man brought a swirl of emotions. I'll have you know that I don't come from that dark continent. I'm from proper England, the Queen's land. He took the rest the drink down in a single drink. More courage races through his veins and the burn warmed his core. While It seems that usually the barkeep tends to his patrons, but now it seems that some tending must be sent your way. Something troubling you mate? Surely a bartender can see that drinks don't solve everything. |

So he wasn't from Australia, rather the Queen's land. That meant Britain. Keisotsu tilted his head with a slight nod. There was something reminiscent of a laugh hidden there under his dark expression, but yet it still remained to be heard. A smile yet to be seen. After all, he didn't wish to offend the Briton anymore than he could have already potentially had, what with the Australian thing and all. The bartender was more laughing at himself than anything else, if such a laugh could've been heard. Whether, however, it was for getting the patrons homeland wrong or simply because he was just bad at guessing accents, was left unknown to both of them. He seemed to have liked his drink at least. Keisotsu was glad to know that maybe his skills as a mixologist weren't a complete waste. The British man had taken the time to like his lips before saying a response. To which, the bartender took as a good sign and a satisfied customer. It suddenly got him to thinking that it was rather cold in the bar. Of course he didn't mind it, his misty white breathe coming out evenly. But what did the lone customer think? Perhaps the cold wasn't exactly welcoming, but the bartender really couldn't help himself with his quirk sometimes. He had yet to say anything about it, and perhaps he hadn't noticed that the cold was indeed coming from the man behind the counter. After all, alcohol was a substance that could easily warm one from the inside out. And the man before him certainly wasn't an exception to such a rule. He took the remaining drink in one go and with that as well, had gave the man the courage to speak up about a rather obvious flaw in the bartender's presence. Keisotsu looked down the empty shot glass in his hand while he listened to the Briton's inquiry. Dark, silent eyes no longer daring to make contact with the brown orbs before them. Something troubling you mate? Surely a bartender can see that drinks don't solve everything. Silence, hesitation, waiting. The stranger was expecting a response, he knew. But what could he say in return? He set the shot glass down onto the bar top with a clink, his other hand going to grab the bottle of whiskey, now nearly empty from the so many shots he had taken from the poison. There was a sigh, yet another breathe forming a cloud of white vapor that dissipated into the air. The worst thing about the stranger's words was that he knew they were so true. "I would be lying if I said that I never knew a man who couldn't drink away his pain." And so what? He was admitting here and now that that was exactly what he did. Except that statement was a lie. Alocohol was good for drowning away the sorrow, but no matter what the pain still remained. It wasn't just in his head, it was in his heart, in his body, in his mind. It was pathetic, he knew. He was pathetic, he knew. But he couldn't have done anything else. He didn't know how to deal with the pain, the grief, the sadness, the emptiness. It wasn't a good escape for anything. It was a horrible excuse for him to turn to, yet he had been so weak to search for anything else. He was sure he hated himself for drinking so much. But in the end that was just another reason to dislike the man he had become. The hatred never did go away. She would've hated the man he had become. He looked down to his hand, on his finger was the golden wedding band. His dark eyes went back to the stranger as he lifted his hand up for the viewing, the ring visible in the dim light. Then with his other hand, Keisotsu twisted the metal band off his finger. Wordlessly, he held the ring between his thumb and first finger, inspecting it with hallowed eyes and allowing the stranger to see it as well. "She died. Nearly five years ago." He had wanted to know, so he told him. His words were as cold as chilled air that surrounded the two. The metal ring too, was cold to to the touch. Were his hands shaking? No. Was he only imagining it? Maybe. He didn't know anymore, but he did know that more shots wouldn't help. That had never stopped him before, but why was he thinking through it now? He hadn't even drank a whole bottle, had he? He didn't know that either, having stopped count around the fifth or sixth one. His words held so little emotion, as if he was scared to show any. Because in truth, he was afraid to feel such emotions again. Edited by BeruChan, Aug 16 2016, 03:56 PM.

Gavin's life had been fairly regular and still coasting through. No deaths, cushy job, and a surprise quirk in later life. Steak sauce! What else could a guy want, besides some special friends? But being here didn't help him. No ladies at all. But at least some interesting conversation to say the least. A true loss. A friend, companion, a love. While the other two past the last remained regardless in the man. His body carried the heavy burden, but his eyes showed how deeply ingrained it was when he said the past. Gavin tried to empathize, but never being struck with such travesty it was difficult. While lost to him the bar keep clearly understood it in folds. His response though was what confused Gavin. True some men may drink them selves out of a bottle, but what is the man once he has escaped? Nothing is gained without something being taken. Instead of a drink why not share your hearts weight with me. I may not look it, but I can carry a few stones on my back, but another drink is most certainly needed if we are too find this bottles edge and climb you out. Gavin was more interested than actually using his quirk to help the man. Maybe the response would increase his understanding of the depressed bloke. Who knows, he might not even need this quirk to do it. |

True some men may drink them selves out of a bottle, but what is the man once he has escaped? Keisotsu looked to the Briton with a curious gaze in his dark blue eyes. It had been a long while since the bartender had heard such questioning words directed at him, perhaps a better word would have been never. It had been even longer since he had heard someone speak with such truth in his voice. Truths that Keisotsu long knew, but so many times ignored. The better answer was that perhaps some men never escaped at all, men like him tobe more exact. Tired eyes then turned again to the ring he held in his hand. He closed his fingers into a gentle fist, encircling the metal circle in his palm. Any normal person would likely have been able to warm the cold metal with just their body heat, however with his quirk Keisotsu next to always ran cold. The cold metal imprinted itself onto his skin and then he opened his palm up, dropping the ring right into his empty shot glass with a pinging sound, glass against metal. If a man is anything, he should've just simply drowned. That could count as an escape. He kept his thoughts to himself, listening to the patrons words for a bit more. The widow now noticing how... vulnearble he felt without his ring on. It was like the thing had been some sort of talisman for keeping away anyone who dared get too close to him, for anyone who tried speaking to him some sense or some truth. It had been a defense against anyone like the man sitting at the bar. With his defenses so gone, why was he letting himself open to attack anyway? It didn't make sense, nothing really about life ever made sense to him. Life just wasn't fair. Life had made him a loser. A loser in a sense that he had lost too many things. Nothing is gained without something being taken. Did he have anything to gain? What else did he have left to lose? No, what else did he have left that could be taken away? Taken. He was nothing but a shell of a man now, there was nothing that could be taken away that hadn't already been lost. A more sober Keisotsu might've listened more intently and likely tried to hear exactly what the man was saying, but being as inebriated aa he was all the bartender could do was reapond with a dark smile. In the end wasn't the man just offering to drink in pity with him? Speaking of whatever stones he could carry or climbing out of whatever bottle the bartender was certainly drowning himself with, it was some all kind of nonsense. Wasn't it? He didn't need help anyhow. He was perfectly content with drinking himself to some kind state where pain didn't affect him anymore by himself. "I usually keep it all bottled up inside, but if you get me drunk enough and I'll tell yah my goddamn sob story." Was it a challenge? He certainly wasn't going to lose if it really came down to it. The bartender himself was admitting it freely, perhaps too freely as he may have already become intoxicated enough. But an excuse to drink more was all he really desired, even if ir did nothing to help his physical or mental health. Keisotsu smirked again, rather ironically, but it certainly was a hard thing to do, beating the master of the bar in a drinking contest. And while sharing a rather tragic tale of his own? He would need to drink a lot more in order to share any more juicy details. He grabbed another clear shot glass, leaving the one that held his ring on the bar top, and then sat it down on the wooden bartop with a clink. The green tinted bottle of scotch was indeed almost empty, but there was just enough for the bartender to hold it upside down and trickle out just one more shot. Looking up to the Briton, his words held a more dangerous tone. "You actually never know. I might be the kind of guy who enjoys the pain-!" But with his final word, Keisotsu suddenly took in a sharp breath. His hand went to his temple as nearly fell over in a fit of dizziness. "Damn...Migraines..." Cursing under his breathe, Keisotsu leaned over the counter to try and regain his balance. He had been again to ignore the headache for the time, but now the migraine came back with a vengeance. His hands turning into white knuckled fists from the pounding in his skull, the bartender tried to keep his breathe even in an attempt to control the pain. Drinking certainly wasn't helping. |

The bar keep was a ponderer. Lost in the colored glass, trapped like his darkened reflection. Gavin grabbed his drink. Tilting it up the clear liquid left the glass. More translucent he looked through the glass to see the man before. With each quip it seemed that Gavin gained greater understanding of his plight. Gavin heard the glass bottle touch down an knew it was empty. He didn't have any idea of how full it was before walking in, but he could assume that it was great amount. Gavin was feeling a tingle, but no doubt the man before him tingles had almost reached their final form of numbness. Typically Gavin would be passing his "pain of poison" off to an unknown soul. He reached for the bar pretzels and listened to the next interesting quip. Being drunk enough to spill, seemed like a soon to be situation. Surely the pain was immense if it required him to be constantly numb. While not numb himself he wasn't as warmed from his drink. His own breath he thought he could see wisping out, but maybe the bar keep had made his drink a little heavy handed. Nothing wrong with that though. "You actually never know. I might be the kind of guy who enjoys the pain-!" Gavin wished he had a drink. His excitement off of that was most likely palpable, but the scene shifted suddenly. The bar tender lurched holding his head exclaiming his pain from a migraine. A simple fix. Gavin degloved his hands and rubbed them together. Some was his habit of using his quirk and some was anticipation. For someone to suggest some enjoyment in pain it was just to exciting. While not his usual pull, one needs an open mind. Reaching forward his hand a lit with crimson pressed his finger tip on his forward and took the migraine. White blinded Gavin. The pain throbbed forward causing his equilibrium to wildly swing and nausea crashed into him like a massive wave. I need a shot. Anything now! With the shot in hand, the man pass out next to him laid waiting. Brushing the man the pain seared like white fire in his head. The man groggily woke up. With the shot near enough to be an easy assumption Mind takin this one for me. Both his eyes were closed from the pain ringing around his skull. How the bar tender only showed a moment of weakness now was surprising to him. How he could deal with this pain constantly worried Gavin. The man awoke to the brit next to him. His face scrunched up he just assumed a nasty shot was taken. There was one next to him and offered to him. Who could say no to a free shot. Yea sure friend, who could say no. The glass was emptied and that would be the last thing he remembered. Gavin placed his hand on the mans face as the shot was emptied and emptied the pain into the man. The drunkard collapsed on the bar. Gavin fixed his hair, and his shirt. Must be proper whenever possible. He looked to the bar keep to see his condition. Better? Tech/LP

The migraines were not an uncommon occurrence. They had started several years ago, not long after he had decided that he apparently disliked sleeping. The two were probably linked, and alcohol honestly never worked as a self-medication. Not that he particularly cared, and of course it was true he realized that it probably just made it worse. Keisotsu knew he was a cycle of bad decisions, a broken record, etc. But how much of it really mattered anyway? It was what he had resigned himself to thinking. He wasn’t anyone important, so why should he have to take care of himself? No one was telling him he couldn’t. He contributed little to society besides helping others waste their lives away drinking, and there were plenty of other places that allowed people to do that. He was nothing in the long run. If he died, there wouldn’t be anyone who would remembered him. Isn’t that what most other people wished? A kind of way to remain ‘alive’ even in death? That was just dumb. When you were dead, you were dead. You wouldn’t be there to know that someone remembered you. So remembering someone after death was just a stupid thing too. And the old man believed he must’ve been the biggest idiot ever. He didn’t even notice the brown haired customer take off his gloves and then lean forward to his own personal space. Until it was however, too late. A hand reached out to him, a single finger pressed on his forehead. At first he immediately wanted to pull away, what the hell was the guy thinking? But then the strangest sensation came over him. It was as if the pain the fading away, leaving the oddest sense of relief. The pain he had long grown accustomed to, simply gone. What the hell? Finally standing up straight, he took a step back from the bar and from the man whose hand had been on his forehead. What he witnessed further brought out an even more puzzled stare from the bartender. The brown haired man’s own face contorted in pain, shouting out an order in anguish. I need a shot. Anything now! Against his better judgement, Keisotsu pushed forward the second shot glass he had taken, its contents still inside. Besides him, the Brit spoke to a passed out patron and offered him the drink. The drunkard, oblivious to the situation and apparently the other man’s rather forceful tone, took the shot as the Briton laid his hand upon him. The man would soon then collapse on the bar, not another word coming from him. Still looking at the brown haired man with a critical stare, Keisotsu could hardly understand what had happened before him. After a moment however, he rusty gears in his mind were beginning to turn. Better? His dark blue eyes turned away from the British patron, looking over the collapsed man at the bar. After so many years working at the drinking establishment, few things surprised the bartender. But people were certainly still surprisingly, he nodded his head to the brunette man, a huff of a laugh escaping onto his lips. “So what… your quirk makes you some kind of super-masochist?” |

He shook his head more as reminder of the throbbing headache flashed back. He massaged his temples to push the thought out. After the temple message the guy he passed it off to fell off his bar stool. Sorry mate, but I'm not keen on being you in the morning. He grabbed some of the bar snacks. Needed some energy. Life was a constant struggle for him. Too much money to deal with, too handsome for his own good, and he kind of liked the pain. Woah...what? Maybe it was the alcohol or the clarity from the headache. So what...your quirk makes you some super-masochist? Was he? He did have an inkling of enjoyment through that whole ordeal. He thought back to the past experiences. The migraine, the giant's punch, and the band's stuff...well he definitely didn't like that one. The rest though, he had reveled in it. He thought about it with the giant, but he couldn't place it. The bar keep here was wise indeed. I wouldn't say super masochist...but I am super. I don't even know if I'm masochist even. All I know is that I'm having a super night no matter what. Its pretty dead here and now that your better why not close up and come along? He doubted that he would leave, but who knows now? It could be fun. |

The response the bartender received in return was really nothing more than a a play on words. But could he really expect anything more from the rather interesting customer he had before him? He hadn't yet decided whether the man was just crazy or just plain weird, perhaps some insanity was mixed in there too. Keisotsu was just simply reminded again of how interesting people could be and perhaps how bold. Its pretty dead here and now that your better why not close up and come along? Dark blue eyes looked over the Briton yet again, what was the man getting at? 'Coming along'? But 'coming along' where exactly? And what? And why him? The bartender did suppose that he was the only company that the other man could have asked, but was it really so normal as to ask a stranger, while he was 'working', to just abandon his job for some unknown activity? In the end Keisotsu had to smile in response, his dark eyes narrowing in suspicion. "I suppose I could just get up and go.... But that depends on what you're offering me in return." He wasn't saying no, but he was curious. However Keisotsu also wasn't so easily swayed. He would need a bit more prodding if he were to get off his drunken ass and actually explore a bit of the world. Perhaps it was also true that his judgment and his thinking was just slightly influenced by the near countless shots he had taken, just slightly. "Don't really know what's better than practically free booze and a human, quite possibly masochistic pain killer to keep me company." He chuckled dryly, referring to his position as the master of the bar as giving him the unofficial and unlikely privilege to drink as much as he wanted, as well as the pain-absorbing quirk holder sitting before him. He was letting his mind wander to what other kind of pain the man could possibly take in... How about matters of the heart? Mental anguish as well as the physical? But wouldn't that have been selfish of him to ask? One couldn't possibly just take away years upon years of loneliness and guilt just like that. Such feelings couldn't even be considered pain, it was punishment he did to himself. His hand went to forehead, the place where the stranger had so abruptly touched him. He had to think, how long had it been since someone had gotten so... intimately close? It had felt so odd, so unfamiliar. It was rather unfair for the stranger to do it without warning, yet Keisotsu hadn't immediately pulled away like he wanted to. Because letting the man touch him made the pain go away. Even if it was only temporary, even if tomorrow he would likely deal with a horrible hangover and even worse headache, even if relief was only so short lived, Keisotsu was still selfish enough to want more. Thinking logically it was what most people would have preferred, relief over pain and punishment. But to Keisotsu 'relief' was such a foreign feeling that it left him empty. Empty. Empty and hungry for... more. More of what? Pain? Relief? Punishment? Guilt? He wasn't sure. His musings left him confused in his slightly drunken stupor. Maybe I really am that kind of sick person who likes the pain. He thought to himself, his words previously said in some kind of joking manner. But now was it that they were ironically true? The sad smile stayed on his lips as he chuckled more, waiting to see what kind of offer the stranger would give him. |

A challenge. He shouldn't have one when asking someone to leave their place of work. Of course the keeper did have a beneficial place of work so why would he leave to go to another bar? Looking around the Brit really didn't see anyone of the women variety. The man on the couch was fiddling with his wallet and the poor soul next time him was surely out for the remainder of the night. Quire the predicament he seemed to be in. Maybe a bro-ing out session would be fun. New friends were always welcome...as well as the chance of free booze. His comment though seemed off though. You make me sound in the same vein of a serial killer. If so you wound me mate. If you are so inclined to stay what is there to keep my attention. Surely most will fade away similiar to your status with drinking. That is not to say you are incoherent, rather I would not want to spiral each other into the bottle. Hopefully there was some end to this as Gavin wanted a plan. While usually the flow had been his guide he wanted a a semblance of process in which his fun would happen. Also walking around and finding the fun was not on his menu at the moment. The other patron from the couch seemed to be ready to check out as he approached the counter with open wallet. |

You make me sound in the same vein of a serial killer. Keisotsu huffed out another laugh, another play on words? Though maybe the bartender had been the one at fault. He shrugged his shoulders, letting them fall back in hunched slouch. For all he did know the man could've been a serial killer. He felt like he had been in a similar situation beforehand, you really just could never know about people. Somehow he had already found himself another bottle of scotch, and apparently another round in his shot glass. It always started out with the little nearly unexplainable things, the bartender of course knowing when too much as too much. But he never listened to himself anyway. "Take it as a compliment." He assured the Briton that he meant no harm, sometimes though even Keisotsu himself admitted to being rather harsh with words. A nuetral expression remained on his face as he tilted his head back, downing now his surely something-teenth shot. He listened curiously to whatever else the man had to say, though his mind only remained partially focused. It was beginning to get difficult to focus in general, but he seemed to smile faintly again at the man's final words. That is not to say you are incoherent, rather I would not want to spiral each other into the bottle. "Oh... oh.." It wasn't quite a laugh, but the sarcastic lightness to his tone suggested one. But yet, how could the man make such a statement of preference? Certainly not after the seeing the obvious signs of one already so far drowned down in the bottle. Usually so much more reserved about the fact that he was practically an alcoholic, hearing it from someone else just elicited even more dark amusement with himself. "Then what do you plan to do if one of us is already out of control?" It was the first thought that came to his mind, he was speaking it now. The scotch giving him the carelessness to do so. Keisotsu wasn't a dramatic drunk, no he hardly ever slurred his speech or resigned himself to outwardly dumb actions. However, alcohol did effect him, it just happened to take a lot of it to do the trick. He was more conversational than when he was sober, which could have been good or bad depending on the conversation and the person sharing the dialogue. When he did have his mind in something, it was harder for him to let it go and so much easier for him to take action about it. Though he had responded in kind, there was something about his words that didn't seem to satisfy the drunken bartender.r "I don't want more wordplay. Just give me a goddamn straight answer." Keisotsu leaned back his body weight, his hand with the shot glass raising an accusatory finger toward the Briton. But only for a moment as the bartender would then slouch back down, now leaning over the bartop and using his arms to support himself. Even slouched over though, Keisotsu was still able to look the man at eye level. The other man certainly wasn't small, but it was a rare occurrence that the bartender would ever run into someone taller than himself. His health and bad however, showed through his physique, always hunched over in lazy slouch, dark, dead blue eyes with even darker bags underneath them, a thin, pale body always cold to the touch. Dark unkempt hair fell just as carelessly into his eyes, now looking on to the brown orbs of the man in front of him. He wasn't smirking, but the already cold air surrounding the pair seemed for grow even colder, as if the air itself was being frozen. White breathes of water vapor exited his mouth, and then there it was, a drunken smile that came all too easily. "How about you give me a real offer of something better?" All he needed to hear was a yes. |

What a series of unexpected events. While Gavin thought him the more passive it seems his patience had run out. The barman did have a spine...even if it was propped up by glass. He couldn't see him leaving the bar so maybe something else. He wanted Gavin to do something, to offer, but finally he wanted Gavin to decide. He was the one spiraling out of control. He seemed to want something familiar to stability, even at the cost of his restrained freedom. With finger and outburst finished and away Gavin had to think. What did he want to offer him? What could Gavin get out of this? Was he a super masochist? The rush from the pain and the after effects were enticing, but he really had only had this feeling twice. Could he use his new associate here to delve deeper? Dive into the idea of what mixture of pain and pleasure could..arouse. And could even Gavin find the ability to do so with him? A man? He had never really considered the option. Women had thrown themselves so willingly at the lawyer's feet in London. However, he had a bit of a dry spell here because of the law firm falling apart...the band too. The barman's hair in shambles and those eyes. So cold and silent, still behind glass. tall and thin, but a cold rage about him. Gavin could work with it. Another part of the man was the waves he exuded. He still stood at it leaning to and fro over the abyss. He had real pain to deal with. This put Gavin at a pause. His mind wandered to the band bus where Ana had given him the pain, and yet those vision had seared themselves into reality. His chest the reminder of it. It made him worried if he took to much pain...this bottomless pain from him would it happen again? This offer I give you can only go so far. I can't take the roots, but I can trim it. I can pick you apart and put something back together. After that if you are interested we could share a couple more drinks in private. italic there more so for the implied meaning of private |

This offer I give you can only go so far. But just how far was he willing to go? The better question was toward the bartender himself. It was hard to believe that Keisotsu had been the one to extend the invitation, had he? Words came out in the strangest of ways when one wasn't thinking about them. And he wasn't thinking at all. That required some kind of logic, some kind of common sense that was long lost to him in the bottle. Being so intimate with someone again, it had been... years. There was some sardonic thought that since so he would've rusty in bed, but was that was all that was on his mind? Sure, he had been victim to some drunken flirting by customers before, but never a... man and never had he been so intoxicated that he would allow himself to be a perpetrator. But he was drunk now. And he had never been one to care. The business of making love was a reckless act in itself. Sacrificing such personal walls to some else, to a stranger, to someone who could've been just as bad as him. Probably worse if he was really considering what he was saying. How vulnerable would he let himself become? Instinctively, he hand went to his finger to feel the familair cold of the metal band, but it wasn't there. Cold, white mist exited his mouth as his dark eyes looked down to the empty shot glass with the wedding ring inside. His mind always seemed to reminding itself of the dumbest of things. His wife. His marriage. His loneliness. How did the conversation get to that? How did his mind get so clouded that he didn't know what he wanted anymore? What did it matter? He didn't have anything to lose. He had already lost it all. Aimi, please forgive me. There was a feeling in his chest, not exactly pain but something so much like it. It was something he refused to let himself feel in such a long time. So why now was he finally letting himself feel that way again? Why this brown haired foreigner before him? Why was it that this man, could he truly take the pain away? Yet, Keisotsu wasn't looking for answers. He didn't want them, not when he didn't care for reason or logic. "Careful now... You don't want to go picking apart too much." He laughed, his tone not light nor happy. "You might find something you don't want to see." A warning to the stranger who so thought himself.. helping? Was that even the right word? But he truly was putting himself as risk too, wasn't he? There was danger in these words and these actions, the kind even grown men could sometimes be afraid of. His actions, his speech came without thought and he was fine with it. He just had to tell himself that and somehow believe in those words, which was even more ironic since he was a man who had no faith. Perhaps at one time he did, but again it was lost like so many other things. He was going down this road tonight, he didn't need to constantly be looking over his shoulder. It was such a tiring thing to do, even figuratively. Keisotsu sighed softly, shaking his head with a dark smile. "So, your place or mine?" A cliche kind of question, but regarding the situation it seemed rather fitting. A more private place, private indeed, after all a bar wasn't the best kind of place for such activity but... it did happen to be a usual place where such things began. |
