He was still unsure about revealing his cards to her. It gave some relief to him, but his nerves were still bound up like ball of yarn. However, the thread had been pulled and hopefully would unravel it all. Keelo went for his plate. There was only the bread crumbs he was planning on eating as this could be his last meal for a bit. His heart shattered into 5000 puzzle pieces of a white wall when she dumped them on the her hand. His tempered flared as his last bit of his meal became inedible. Now he didn't know when he would eat again Her story oh the ritual was lost on Lance, but he figured it would be faux pas to deny it. He took her hand with the crumbs and shook it firmly. This would be the first step toward whatever redemption he could grasp. Du bist mein Freund, Danke. Now where Lance went from here was a mystery. |

She didn't know how little money Lance had, so she didn't consider these crumbs to be precious to him. In reality, that made the ritual all the better. In her household, it was considered wasteful to throw away food if it was still good, which was partly why promises were made like that. Lance had to give up something of importance to show he was committed, and taking her hand even after she did that showed to himself that he was ready to make what sacrifices he had to so he could become a better person. "You know, I think this is my first real big friendship since I came to the urban part of Japan. Thanks for the company Lance, I'll make sure to call ya soon." She noted, standing up with a smile and going about her day. It was odd. She had never made this sort of impact on someone, it felt good. Not only did she have someone she knew relatively well know, but she was about to help him out of a rough patch that could change his life for the better. Maybe this silent hero thing was worth it after all. |

Lance was happy to have a friend and quite possibly a job. The sun was setting behind Keelo and she looked amazing. Lance was a little confused, but held it together. Too many women had caused a stirring in Lance. Usually he didn't know why, but maybe it was that he just was looking for someone to care for him. He had always been to blind to realize the ones who were trying to help. But no longer. He would swallow his pride and pay back those who offered help to him so long ago. It was time to reconnect with Sabine. Keelo stood and parted him with farewell and cute call me.He looked at the plate and realized he would need to find that job sooner rather than later. Luckily a newspaper was nearby. He would need to further his studies of Japanese reading and writing, but he would strive forward. He left the table and walked out to the sidewalk. The sunset was a glorious mix hues of orange and blue. The breeze was calm and rustled the flowers around him. A new leaf for Lance. [exit] Edited by Ronziggy, Aug 12 2016, 02:24 AM.
