One would think that someone would feel even an ounce of guilt for saying something that truly hurt someone's feelings, it was simply a normal human function, right? Well, any sort of function such as that was lost in Ezra. He did not give a single fuck about hurting the feelings of the girl that insulted him FIRST. Seriously, everyone here is all jumping down his throat for simply speaking the truth. Neither of them was able to read what bitch said about him, no, all they did was hear what he said. There was no way to get these fuckers off his back, at the moment.

"So you aren't going to go over there and apologize? You are a horrible young man if you were my son I would show you a thing or two!" The woman from earlier yelled out once again. Looking her down, he could see how bitter the broad look. She was a right proper tosser and all Ezra wanted to do was send her ass flying. However, he didn't want to end up in jail, so he simply relied on his words, they were worse anyway.

"Listen, you old pathetic shrew. You will be crying just like that bellend over there if you keep on with that shit coming out of your mouth. If you were my mother I would be in jail right now because it would be the farthest place in the world from a terrible shrew like you! You know what, fuck this!" Ezra shout out in anger. His veins began to show along his neck as he was beginning to really get annoyed by everything that was going on.

Now over it all, he took off passed everyone around him and march his ass over to where the two girls were. From the look of it, the two broads were having a sweet touching heart to heart moment, made Ezra wanted to throw up on them both. Feeling the need to cut them short on their little heart to heart, he tapping the large broad on her shoulder three times.

"Hey there, sorry to bother you, I just have something to say. I really wanted you to know that I am... In need of you to tell these FUCKING PEOPLE, that you started all of this crap! You insulted me first, remember that? You called me a shit drip and a fatty-fatty, you started this entire battle of insults and now you want to stand here and play victim?! Fuck that, no, not going to happen, sweet pea. You aren't going to make me out to be the bellend in this situation, and I am not going to stand over there and deal with a bunch of old broads yelling down my throat. Tell them, Tell them right now! TELL THEM! Or type it, I don't give a damn. If you can't talk, have your mighty mouse there narrate it all for you." Ezra expressed with a slightly annoyed expression.

Things were clearly getting intense and little she knew the cyborg-looking woman was actually having way more problems than what Leng thinks she is. She thought she was only crying due to the insults given to her that perhaps could have hit her harder than anyone else due to her past or something else. Maybe she was joked left and right due to her appearance. But unfortunately, it was way more than that and the Da-Xia had no way to know such thing. Though, the situation was still in hand, now other women apparently throwing the guilty spot towards the male, the one that, in the view of most, was the culprit of the whole mental breakdown. The young girl, being the kind person she was, didn't exactly have a set opinion, but was clearly more inclined to the fact that none of them really had any fault and the one that started all of this turmoil was actually herself.

Let's see things the way they should be seen. Since she changed to Tokyo to live with her grandmother, only bad things happened to her, like her somehow making people angry at her for accidently making them trip due to one of her legs naturally being in the way of their steps, or dropping a banana peel because of simple distraction and making someone also slide on it and fall to the ground, or just, like in this case, standing in someone's way or in the door of someone's house when they want to live and there she is, Leng, just freezing there, and making people annoyed due to her inability to see what's around her. Obviously, this teenager can only have some sort of mental issue. At least that's what most people probably think of her.

Though, they fail to understand that's not entirely the case. This girl just had no education; she had no childhood at all. All she received in those days was bad harm, her parents and family neglecting her and only two members really care about her. Her passed sister and her grandmother. Imagine if the latter passed away as well, how could Leng live? She would probably turn into one of the most saddened homeless person ever, because first, she would have no money to stay in a hotel even, and secondly, she had no one to trust in the entire world. Thus why she tries to be as kind as possible, to try and find friendship, because one day, she is also going to lose her grandmother and who's there to help her. Her friends.

But let's go back to the scene.

Leng is forced to drop, crouch down due to the movements made by the robotic woman, one apparently mute due to perhaps some sort of technical malfunction. Or so the young Da-Xia thought. She still held the much taller and much heavier individual in her arms, those now beginning to gently coil below the other's arms and ending on her back, allowing her to stay in balance as her head also rested on the teenager's shoulder. It was a touching moment indeed, as who would imagine Leng to be this caring about strangers. This was probably part of her amazing personality that no one really knows about, except her sister and grandmother. She doesn't say anything, letting the moment pass, consoling the woman, rubbing her hand back and forth her back in soft motions. The only problem was...

... The man in the situation. He was still there and now he was right in front of both, looking down at them as if he was some superior being. His clearly annoyed comments ringed in the girl's ears, but she was also getting bothered by them, wanting the situation to just end and for everyone to be okay with each other. But seems like it takes more than just bad talk. A few grunting noises from inside her closed mouth are heard and her head now slowly shifts back up, her own reddish gaze now piercing through the male's hues like knives. And finally, she speaks, in a gentle tone, completely the opposite from her expression, one of slight annoyance.

"Hey... You probably won't understand me and I don't understand you either, but I'm trying to make everything okay between you two... She's offended by whatever you said to her, so please stop yelling. I beg of you. It wasn't your fault, neither was hers... I..." She spoke, obviously in Japanese, before switching to the hard and struggling English that she spoke. "It, uh... My mistake... My... My..." Leng clearly struggles, her eyes shutting and her lips trembling as if she was admitting something she didn't truly want to admit, but had to, because in her mind, it was the truth. Such expression was not also for those reasons, it was due to the fact that she had to fix a situation by... Speaking English. "My fault... I... I'm sorry..." The Da-Xia stated and hopefully the man would understand the true meaning behind her words and looks, the kindness filled in them, because all she wanted was peace. She was struggling for no more harm to be done to both sides.

A shiver ran up Shiori's spine, the moment should have been a touching one to most. It should have been just a total stranger caring for someone they had exchanged only a few sentences with, half of them hostile ones, in a show of pure Samaritan kindness. And for a few moments she might have actually experienced Leng's soft and reassuring touch as such. But the moment had passed and the crushing reality of the moment set in for Shiori. It was confusing, terrifying and a completely alien feeling for her to receive any sort of genuine affection from anyone. Every small well meant rub felt like a jagged spike of ice being trust in her back. It felt like her feet had turned to lead. It felt like every measure of strength in her body was being driven out of her by sheer terror and the weight of a stained past pressed down on her like a mountain sized weight of emotional baggage.

The looming inevitability of the ground closing in on you after falling of a really tall cliff, that is perhaps the most apt description of how she felt. The strangers kindness was only a terrifying and suffocating blanket that she couldn't throw of. Every moment of what was supposed to be a tender embrace made it harder for her to struggle against it. The more she wanted the moment to end the less power her body could muster to struggle against it. It had long size gone passed the point where she could still stand up and walk away. Her knees were like jello and then just like that. She stopped moving her hand. And that, that was even more terrifying somehow.

The little girl (in comparison that is) was holding up the much taller blond woman who would have much rather been curled up in the fetal position right now. That is to say, Shiori was pretty much just a hundred... and a bit kilograms of dead weight weighing her down. Even so the smaller girl spoke up. The ringing in Shiori's ears made her words hard to make out but... they weren't what she expected. Somehow she had braced herself to hear the inevitable deathblow to her shattered self image that would come right about now, that little twist of the knife meant to break all further opposition but it never came. For a moment that too made her head swim.

She didn't understand any part of what was going on right now, but as her thoughts swam in and out of focus she gained enough clarity to understand that the girl was actually defending her. Somehow here was a person that actual cared about the feelings of someone they barely knew. The mind numbing realisation that despite everything this total stranger was actual apologising to the shouting loudmouthed aggressor for something she had very little part in. It was not what she expected, it was completely and utterly absurd even.

That complete and utter dissonance with her world view snapped something. It provoked the first sound the girl audibly made from the moment they met. She was actually laughing, and it wasn't a good sort of laugh. It was the mocking and surreal sort of laugh of someone who had pretty much lost all sense of reason.

"Ha...Ha..Haha...HaHA...Aha...AHAHAHAHAHA...."
She pushed the girl away from her. Not maliciously, but still forcefully enough to break the embrace they were sitting in. Put her cybernetic hand on the ground and unsteadily pushed herself to her feet. Her expression was one of shock and a dissonant sort of grimace that contrasted in a weird uncomfortable sort of way to the tears running down her cheeks. Her eyes were shining now. They always looked vaguely luminescent due to the fact they were pale yellow irises on the disturbing black sclera but this time it wasn't just a trick of the light. Her eyes were actually shining as she raised her cybernetic arm and pulled back.

For a moment it looked like she was about to deck Ezra straight in the face, like she had snapped beyond all reason but when she threw her hand out it wasn't forwards towards him, it was straight up and it kept going long past the point where her reach should have ended The metal was straining somehow. It wasn't like a fluid motion where it simply elongated, nor was it like she was pulling it apart. It looked almost like the material was straining and bending unnaturally as if the space it occupied itself was being stretched out like clay. It looked unnatural and highly disturbing as her grasping metallic arm shot a good fifteen foot into the air like a writhing mass of metal straining against the bonds of its form.

Her hand grabbed hold of the side of the roof, showing that despite that immensely odd deformation of it's mass it still functioned exactly as it should. the fingers digging into the ledge as she somehow used that weird almost tentacle like deformation in her arm to pull herself up to the rooftop like her arm was a retractable winch. The higher up she got the more her arm returned to it's normal form and when it was back to normal she grabbed the ledge with her normal hand and pulled herself up the last little bit of the way by normal strength.

For a moment she looked down from the rooftop towards Leng. Her expression was stoic. If she felt any qualm leaving her there despite everything that she did to try and help it didn't show on her face. Whether it was because it was dramatically appropriate or just because winds tend to pick up across flat rooftops in urban environments, her hair was flaring out in the wind as she put her sketchbook down on the side of the rooftop and used her pencil to jot down a few words in English before writing something in Japanese. She then tore of the paper and folded it into a paper airplane, throwing it down towards the ground. Should either of them pick it up it would read the following.

[I'm Sorry. Please don't hurt her.]

All eyes were on Ezra and the two girls in front of him as he confronted the cyborg. A cold menacing stare was in his eyes as he stared down the tall amazonian type woman. There was a short silence that overcame the area as everyone pretty much waited for a response from the woman. Of course, out of everyone, the response was more important to Ezra than it was anyone else. He was fed up with the bullshit that was going on around him. Fed up of the PC twats that chastise him for doing nothing more than defend himself from the insults of the beast in front of him.

Seriously, he had to wonder what in the hell was wrong with girls. They were too damn over emotional and the way they try to swing or manipulate a situation annoyed the hell out of him. This was not his first time putting up with this kind of bull. In the past, it was with a few of his ex-flings. Every freaking time they would go out of their way to make a big deal out of a situation to try and make him feel bad. Then, when he showed little remorse or regret for whatever it was he did or said, they freaked out and gave ultimatums. So, being the prideful bastard that he was, he ended the relationship and cut all ties with them. Till this day he has no regret for the decisions he made.

This situation was no different, there was no way in hell was he going to feel remorseful about giving a response. Yes, they were hurtful, but the tosser insulted him first. It isn't fair, honestly, and Ezra wasn't going to take it, not today. So when he confronted her in hopes of her confessing the truth, he didn't expect the short brat from earlier to intervene. Somewhat listening to what she had to say, Ezra gave a few rolls of the eyes as he couldn't help to feel annoyed. He didn't ask for this little pipsqueak to get involve, he wanted the tall broad behind her to simply clear his name so the bitch fest behind him could leave him alone. It didn't help that the brat couldn't speak a lick of English, the little he could make out was nothing worth focusing on to him.

"No offense, but I want a response from her. Stay out of it." He would say slowly while also using his hands to try and help express what he was saying. Not knowing if she understood or not, he gave one more eye roll before looking back over to the cyborg. It didn't take long after the stare down for the girl to move the small out of the way so she could get in Ezra's face.

Wondering what in the hell she was doing, there was no chance we were going to actually fight him, right? No, there isn't a chance, she isn't that naive. Giving a bit of a cocky chuckle, he looks off to the side for a moment before turning back. As he did, his eyes caught a fist that looks to be coming to his direction. Still, in a state of disbelief, he couldn't believe this girl to be dumb enough to try such a thing. Nonetheless, he was prepared either way, not hard for him to simply move out of the way.

Thankfully for her, that was not going to happen. No, instead, the girl shot her arm off like rope towards the roof of a building behind them. Watching her shoot off her feet and make way to the roof, Ezra watch with a bit of confusion, not knowing what in the hell was going on. It wasn't long before the broad took off, leaving everyone standing in some form of shock. "Crazy, got damn..." He spoke out loud before shooting a look at the short girl. Seconds later he would take off walking towards the direction of his hotel, he needed a good nights rest after dealing with this fiasco.

Silence ensued for a little while and that felt nice, giving Leng more of the opportunity to be able to console the poor cyborg woman whom the Da-Xia actually found somewhat fond of. It just felt good to embrace someone like that, something she didn't get many times during her childhood due to how abusive and neglecting her family was, except for two individuals, that were already mentioned before. But the same story has to repeat itself. Little does the young brawler know that the woman she's embracing also had her own horrible past, perhaps something similar to what Leng had, but at the same time in a completely different atmosphere. Though, something strange ended up happening.

While still having embraced in her arms quite the lovely-looking cyborg, what escapes her lips was... Laughter. Sounding mocking, but at that moment, Leng was clearly skeptical, not knowing whatever was going on and the reason as to why the woman began to sound like that. Was it maybe insanity from the whole event, feeling immensely offended by the words of the Englishman? The Da-Xia had no idea! "Huh? Wh-What's going on? Are you okay?" She questioned, now leaning away a tad from the hug to try and stare down over at the other girl, though, she was quick to take a stand and turn on her heels, walking in the man's direction. A wide blink beamed across the teenager's features, wondering what to do as maybe a fight was to ensue. But it didn't seem like that. She did well in waiting to see the cyborg's actions.

"Wh-What?" She had a similar reaction once more upon noticing what she just did. A look of surprise in Leng's face, mouth almost widely open and that was when the cyborg would shoot her arm, connect it with the roof of the restaurant building and climb up before staring down at both her and the now apparent bully. She observes the situation, at this moment already standing and not anymore crouched, too curious about what kind of actions the woman was going to take towards the two, if she was still angry at both or not, or if she was about to start a fight and actually start shooting beams from the palms of her hands. Though, that wasn't the case, and the Englishman just walked away without knowing what she had been preparing. Something was being written and then, something dropped down from her hands... To the ground.

It was a piece of paper. A simple piece of paper.

Leng stared down at it for a moment, eyebrows still raised in surprise due to the sudden turn of events. "Hey, guy... Paper..." She spoke, once more in a struggling type of English, pointing down at the piece that the cyborg had dropped whilst still standing up on the roof, attempting to stop the man from actually walking further away. The athletic teenager inched closer to the paper, lowering down to pick it up and actually turn it to read whatever was scribbled in there... And she read it. "I'm sorry... Please don't hurt her...", and then the Japanese word, which she read it in her mind first and decided to just not spell it out. The Da-Xia takes somewhat of a serene expression now, looking back up at the cyborg woman still standing by the roof and wondering what type of person she was. A strange one indeed, but one that seemed special at the same time. If only she could talk more with her... The red-haired youngster clearly wanted to friend with her. But maybe it was already too late as all of the three were already prepared to part ways. Was this the end of the bizarre meeting?

As he was walking away, Ezra knew he had to vent to someone. Taking out his phone, he scrolled through his call list to see who he could call. Thinking about it for a second, it had been a while since he last called or talk to anyone back home. He also has screened a fair share of their calls as well, it was possible he could deal with some bitching on their part as well. After going through what he just did, there was no chance he was going to stand and hear even more bitching. Then again, they were somewhat his friends, so it was not as if he couldn't go toe for toe with them and end it on a good note. Honestly, however, he was drained, he just needed a bed right now.

Coming to a stop, he had to think about where his hotel was again. If he remembered correctly, it was to the left or right of the shop he was at. Thinking back on it, he took a second before deciding to look it back up on his phone. As he did this he could hear someone from behind him, from the sound of it was the short Japanese girl that was holding on to amazon chick like a lost little puppy.

Turning back around to see what in the hell she could have wanted, he saw her pointing to a piece of paper on the ground. Giving a bit of a sigh, he moves in a little closer to see what it was all about. Letting her read it to him, it took him a second before he could understand what she was saying completely. From the sounds of it, the note was from the amazonian cyborg chick. Looking back onto the rooftop, he had seen that she was still standing there, like some idiot. The only thing she was missing was a cape.

Bringing up his right hand, he flipped the woman off before looking back at the short girl. "Whatever." He would say before turning and continuing on his way. With his bag still strapped across his chest, he look to his phone and followed the map given to his destination, leaving the area entirely.

For the moment it seemed like that had been the right call. Shiori breathed a sigh of relief. For the merest of moments she had felt ready to deck that guy in the face with all her strength. Even now she wasn't quite sure what had stopped her or why it made her feel so glad to see him walking away without raising a hand to that little red headed girl. She barely knew her and still something about that brought a wave of immense relief crashing down over the mind of a woman who could normally care less about what happened to others.

Sure, she didn't like to see strong people abuse their own strength to hurt those weaker then them, but there was always that little voice in the back of her mind that reminded her that the strong would always be there to lord it over the weak. She was just so used to being weak herself that normally she felt a strange sort of kinship with people whom the world trotted upon, even while knowing that the world favoured those strong enough to just take what they wanted. This time however that voice was absent, and she keenly missed the normally comfortable assurance that it was just human nature driving people to abuse those weaker then themselves.

It was an unpleasant voice, but comforting in it's own way. It made her firmly belief that it was not her fault when people stepped on her. That it was just their human nature to do so. That she herself was not at fault for provoking it. But more then that, it gave her the solace of knowing that people could not help themselves. That they did not CHOOSE to hurt the weak because they WANTED to but they were simply following some ordained natural instinct that made it right. Because if that wasn't the way the world was supposed to be... if it wasn't then there were so many things to be sad about, so many things to hate. So many choices to lament over.

She didn't want to consider the implications to deeply. She was just confused by the selfless kindness the girl had shown. That's right wasn't it, mercy, pity, selflessness those were luxuries the weak could permit themselves because it fell within their natural role. A bunch of sheep protecting the herd because their strength alone couldn't protect them. It was just a weakness that relied on strength of numbers and closing ones eyes to the grim reality. It was nothing to get confused over after all. And yet...

She couldn't help but indulge that weakness just a bit. Her hand was writing already but as she looked down at the words she only got angry with herself, what foolish self pitying crap was this. She was better, stronger then this. In afit of anger she Pressed the pencil down with her shaking hand, the tip breaking of on the paper. she gave one last look at the sketchbook before swiping it away of the ledge. She watched it tumble down and gritted her teeth before turning on her heels and walking away. No more weakness. Not today.

The sketchbook lay abandoned on the ground. The drawing of the cafe, filled with super powered maids. Lay open on the sidewalk. The drawing held serene expressions of happiness on the faces of all the patrons, the likenesses of Leng and Ezra included. So unlike the reality of what that scene had been. Next to a half finished message.

[Next time, let's be frien.]

Leng had now read the paper for the man and his reaction was something she was actually already expecting. Not caring much about it, it was an attitude that the teenager, at least in this situation, found surprisingly positive. Even though he seemingly made the cyborg lady saddened, and at the same time, angered at his words, he still had heart, enough to not even lay a hand on both at just the bit of threat. But the Da-Xia was actually glad that she didn't read or translate the word in Japanese that was in the paper, which could perhaps upset things even more. She was a good girl and she just wants peace, so why would she reveal such thing?

A simple jog after leaving home with actually quite the pleasant energy led into something that you don't always get every single day. A troublesome situation, which could have been followed by a sudden, random brawl, after all, it was just outside of a cafe and that's quite common in certain areas. Due to everything that happened, she didn't even realize that she was that tired from the whole running session before, having to gulp amounts and amounts of water just to regain her energy and that wasn't even enough. But somehow, what happened between the three was already enough of a rest.

The young martial artist simply turned to look back up at the cyborg lady after the Englishman had simply vanished from sight and luckily, it was right at the moment she dropped that sketchbook of hers before also leaving the area. Another thing for her to read and hopefully it would just be for her, without counting any more threats towards the man that the two of them could just simply forget about, even though little she knew she would see him again during the Sports Festival. The red-haired teenager inches closer and then crouches down once more to take it on her hands and open it. Right there was a drawing of what seemed to be the same cafe they were in, including super maids, using powers to serve the rest of costumers, but what caught her eye the most interest was a single detail. The two were there, Leng and the Englishman, looking apparently happy as they sat and stood around the cafe. The teenager smiled, just looking at that made her somewhat happier about the fact that they actually met. But at the end, she found herself reading a message to the side which seemed incomplete and a bit of a mess. She read it in a hush.

"Next time, let's be frien-... Let's be friends?"

Is that the real message or could another word somehow be formed with just such simple phrase. There was no way. There couldn't be any way, could it? Leng stared back up, but no more cyborg was in sight, and now it made the Da-Xia ponder hard about whatever she could do to meet up with her again, question her about what she had written. But she kept it. She saved it somewhere in her clothing and was going to keep it until they could somehow meet once more. She really had grown a few doubts now and she had to just wipe them away, and the only individual that could do that was such woman.

"Ugh... This day was we-- Oh, right, damn it! I completely forgot about granny!" She yelled out right outside the cafe still, people passing by looking at her with jumbled looks upon their features. Without hesitation, she just sprints away, once more getting tired after just having rested. Well, it's always some exercise and Leng clearly needed it if she wanted to get stronger and continue following the path to the top of the mountain!

"But I will meet you once more... I promise, cyborg lady."

[THE END]

  • Karakuri Shiori - 27 EXP, 2100 cash,

  • Leng Da Xia- 26 EXP, 2400 cash,

  • Leng Obtainted: Shiori's ZSketch Book
Leng got a Shiori's ZSketchbook! A wonderful notebook full of drawings of cute battle maids, regular maids, and super villain maids. Oh, there's also a page with Era, Leng, and Shiori all smiling together like they were frien's.

Comments:
Quite the rollercoaster of a thread. Starting off what some rather humorous descriptions of the area and each characters initial problems and concerns. Took a rather intense shift once we got to name calling, glad to see that Ezra wasn't going to back down from his own convictions. That along with Shiori's breakdown from getting called chubby into what seemed to be a bit of emotional turmoil made for an interesting read for that character. As for Leng, I felt that she was a bit overshadowed due to the fact that Ezra and Shiori were a bit more out there, Ezra, of course, being bold and outspoken and Shiori having that emotional coaster. That said I did enjoy reading her sections trying to comfort Shiori and act as a messenger for her (even if she didn't seem to show appreciation for the fact.) but hey you guys might be frien's some day.
