The Dork of Ages!!!!

Everybody deserves a chance to do great things. It was a thing he had been told at a very young age back home in New Zealand. He had a teacher in middle school, who seemed to be focused on that idea. Despite the school itself barely able to keep itself up and running with the constant fighting, he still had the ignorance to say that. To live by that logic. But Franklin never agreed with him, as he felt the world was unfair. It was imbalanced and not right. Most people who were born in New Zealand, didn't have a chance for great things. it seemed like everyone was born to be trapped in that terrible place like rats. And yet here he was, finally free. But he was now at the bottom, the lowest of the low. But he would do great things. He knew it.

The wooden boat continued its journey towards Alana. Franklin didn't have much money, but he did have enough to afford a single boat ride. From London to here, the Isles of Elysium. He had invested all his money into this trip, selling all he had, but the clothes on his back and a small backpack with small things he needed. But he didn't have anything for a return trip. So he would be stuck with this decision.

Franklin Rhodes stood dressed in a black t-shirt, black pants, black boots, and his beaten up black overcoat. His black hair was now tied in a ponytail and his face was clean shaven. His dark eyes seemed to glean against the sun, with new hopes of hope, he hadn't experienced since a long time ago. He looked fresh as if he had out everything behind him. Sticking from his lips was a cigarette, with only a stub remaining. It was his last one from the pack he had in New Zealand. The pack was now crumbled and at the bottom of his bag, along with the torn remains of his suit he had worn during that fight. But other than that, there was nothing holding him down to the past, externally. He took a final puff and tossed the burning stub into the churning sea, after walking forward and leaning against the boat's guardrails with his elbows. He exhaled the smoke and watched as it began to drift away from him and the boat. His mind began to wander, as he stared off at the watery horizon.

He had found a few people talking about it at the restaurant, he had been working at. From what the owner of the restaurant had told him, he knew they were Bounty Hunters. With some discussion and education through the school of hard-knocks, he soon began to gain the ability to distinguish a regular bounty hunter from other patrons. The for the most part seemed to have money to spend, and did so willingly. However they were very casual and discrete about it. And then they were highly relaxed in their physical bodies, but their eyes often scanned the room, whenever the door chimed as someone new entered. And they always paid with cash.

Franklin was working as the day's busboy as the other actual one had been sick and the owner took over Franklin's part of chef. So the man was especially grumpy that day, annoyed with having to serve food and clean tables. However there was two men who sat in the corner at a booth who Franklin noticed showed all the signs of men who did jobs for the Bookkeeper, or other less savory individuals. But there was something new happening at that table. They seemed to be laughing, having somewhat of a chuckle about something. Franklin paid them no heed as he wiped down a nearby table, until he heard one man say, "Who the hell does this Crimson Fucker guy think he is?" The other man gave a laugh and said to his companion, "Apparently he thinks he hot enough shit to start a fucking war against WISH. I have a friend who was at that Spectrum Convention thing this year with his son, and he saw those notes. And he has the balls to openly put out a request for a chef."

They assumed their conversation had little importance, but it interested Franklin deeply. He had heard the occasional thing about Mercutio and his entire group. Not much, but whispers that told him their group was feared and respected. That they affected the world and disliked WISH, much like Franklin did. Most likely even more so then his own hatred. They were people he could get along with fine. And if they needed a chef, Franklin knew he could help out. And so with all the money he could gather he bribed a man who had to deliver items to Alana to take him with him so he could apply for the position.

And here he was. During his daydreaming and flashback, the boat had begun to get closer to the island of Alana. Franklin put his hand over his forehead to block out the sun as he examined the island. It was large, which surprised Franklin. From what he had heard from crew members, was that it was built by quirks. It was interesting for sure, and he hoped to learn more if he ended up with the position. While his life had changed tremendously from what he once knew, he still retained his own thirst for knowledge.

Soon the wooden boat docked onto the shore of the Isles of Elysium and the crew members of the boat began to unload and do other various things. Franklin on the other hand, had much less to do. The man felt awkward and attempted to help the burly men unload, but due to the looks they shot him he felt he was more of an annoyance and a liability instead of any help. Feeling confused, he stepped on to the island and stuck his hands in the pockets of his trenchcoat. He would wait until the men were all finished and ask the captain where he would go to meet Mercutio to apply for the job. However his thoughts were restless all he waited.

The burly men began on unloading the ship, a slight tension present in the air as they did. Franklin may not have felt the air but times were turbulent. It hadn't been long since the war here, and Mercutio didn't stay still following that. As they were working away; a war on WISH which shook the world was occurring. America wasn't safe from the 'Crimson Fucker' and their president was on the edge of death. Yet all the way here on Alana—the land which belonged to the man causing all the chaos—things were nice and serene. The men ambled on and unloaded their goods like they had done before, finally finishing up and stepping off to bring their goods further into the island.

"Mercutio?" the captain said, taking off his hat and running his weathered hand through his hair. His bushy grey eyebrows furrowed as he looked at Franklin, musing over how interesting the lad was. "Well, his place's supposed to be on the other island. But I can't guarantee he's there." The man shrugged and walked past Franklin to direct his men. All was well in the world—

But out of nowhere, the peaceful and calm shores of Alana were sent into a frantic chaos. The calm blue skies were sliced apart; a crimson flare piercing through the quiet and quaint veil. The first to appear was a giant monster, like some hellish nightmare out of purgatory. Claws at the end of each limb, scythes protruding form its wrists, a plated carapace covering its body, sharp long teeth. The list went on. If hell walked the earth, this would be in the vanguard. On top of it appeared another beast, incredibly large as well. This was one was a fox with several tails, holding the other giant insect-like creature down. The two seemed to be in conflict, teleported amidst what was surely a fierce battle.

Mairu and the Kaiju

Both massive creatures appeared in mid-air above the waters nearby Alana. Unfortunately for the men who just docked their ship, this wasn't the best of news. The two giant creatures would fall down like small meteors, sending water rushing out and causing huge amounts of water to shoot up into the air. A budding wave rushed towards the shore where Franklin stood, flipping the boat over and sending it flying to his right. A few others would be teleported as well, but between the two skyscraper sized monsters and the tidal wave coming down on Franklin and the crew, they would be hard to see. Some would be shot out onto the shore as well, whilst others were dropped into the waters.

Speaking of the huge scythe-armed creature, it instantly began writhing in the waters as it landed, only some of it submerged in the waters due to sheer size. Thanks to the sudden phase in location and fall, the beast was able to find an opportunity and twist its body around; escaping from Mairu's hold and zipping off—water shooting aside as it moved. The thing was damn fast as it moved, but it didn't intend to flee. No, it was angry, stopping and staring straight at the fox boy with savage thoughts.

Kame House would warp into the middle of the island of Alana and the citizens didn't seem to mind too much or haven't yet noticed, however Mercutio wasn't even able to sense them. A King's job was to protect his Kingdom, and maybe that was more the reason the initial impact of Mairu and the Kaiju fighting didn't worry them. Up until now, the citizen, some who came here of their own accord, those whom sought refuge, those following Alana and/or Mercutio, the orphaned many of the African Elections Disaster and the few of those whom roam still after the Gala event...

It was a home though, and it was prosperous despite how WISH perceived it and Mercutio believed the people who were here actually had a will and want to stay. They know and have seen Mercutio protect them not only from random incidents but recently the crazed Hero Abyssal who came and didn't mind a little collateral damage. They saw what Mercutio was willing to do to protect them and while some held malice in heart towards him, many began to forgive and forget and accept the man as he was. A world of quirks and yet the problems are much the same.

Changing quickly to his robes, removing the scraps of shirt and sprinting through the air to make his way to Mairu and the others.

Mercutio would walk up on a scene that confused him and his voice came across a bit mocking and quite relaxed.

"Oi, oi! What's going on over here, eh? How did ya end up under the thing?"

Mercutio drifted up into the air, ignoring the extreme aggressive manner in which the beast was seething in and spoke to Mairu.

"If only someone had a secret quirk that like, I don't know, turned them into a huge monster or something... maybe then we could fight this Kaiju, Mairu. Oh! Wait, that's you." he teased before getting serious, err... as serious as Mercutio got when he wasn't worried.

"I see you have regained your calm, now go all out on this thing. Show him what being on the wrong side of history feels like and we can get some of that frozen shit you like. Gelato or whatever, I don't know." he said, sitting on a cloud of crimson and drifting around the area they fought smoking a joint and sipping tea as a manga turned page by page slowly in front of Mercutio's face unaided by his hands at all.

Scanning the area, Mercutio caught a blip of a signature he wasn't too familiar with. "Oi, and who the fuck are you?" he asked, spinning in space and glaring a good hundred meters away at someone.

Rosa let out a small yelp as she dropped onto the ground volcanic rock of Elysium, face first. The girl used her less damaged arm to get back to her knees. Seeing where they had been transported, the girl frowned. She hardly had a chance to enjoy leaving Elysium before winding up back on the island nation. The white-haired preteen froze when she felt something brush against her feet.

Water.

Turning around, Rosa stared at how close she was to landing in the water. She was only a few feet away from the ocean, waves starting to reach her position as the giants fought nearby. The girl slowly got to her feet and hurried away further inland. Rosa stopped once she reached the point where water didn't normally reach. "Another big monster... We have to fight this one too don't we brother?" Rosa asked, turning to her brother.

The girl cradled her damaged arm with her good one. But as she looked at her brother she let her arm hang by her side. He was much worse off not being made of rubber. Frustration started to creep into Rosa's voice as she spoke to her brother. "I know it is my fault we won't be able to swim, but we can fight still right? I won't hold us back even if we only have one arm because I didn't keep us safe enough."

While she let her brother speak, Rosa looked away. Her eyes stayed on the battle starting to erupt not far away. If the monsters suddenly came at them she would have to help Negan get out of the way. The fox one looked familiar, but she had no idea why either monster was at Elysium. All she had been focused on back wherever they were was fighting Kull with Negan. Rosa's eyes widened as Mercutio flew over and started casually talking with one of the monsters before just floating around. She was confused as to who this was probably a lesson for. "Do you know what is going on Negan?"

In a flash of crimon light, Negan and Rosa were thrown onto the sandy ground of Elysium. Getting to his feet with his good arm, Negan brushed the sand off himself and instinctively turned to Rosa to make sure that she was okay. This had been the first time that Rosa had received such a serious injury and the maroon haired boy wasn't quite sure how she would react. "How's your arm, Rosa?" He said, smiling down at his sister. Negan's own arm hurt like hell and he didn't really want to move it but he ignored it in favor of checking on Rosa. As long as she was alright then he was alright. "We're going to have to fight that thing, yes. Not to worry, we can handle it." The male half of fusion ha gave the white haired girl a loving head pat.

"I know it is my fault we won't be able to swim, but we can fight still right? I won't hold us back even if we only have one arm because I didn't keep us safe enough."

"Hey now, don't blame yourself for that. We're a team, remember? If we make mistakes then we make them together." Looking over at the giant monster that was wrestling with Mairu, Negan took a deep breath as he prepared himself to jump into combat once more. The fight with Kull had been quite taxing but there was still some fuel left in his tank. They had beaten Kull just like they said they would and now they, alongside Gjoll, Sonomi, and Mairu would defeat this thing as well. Negan didn't know how powerful this thing was but he wagered it was stronger than Kull if it required the five of them to take it down. He wanted to jump in and fight but Negan knew that he needed to wait until the fatigue from unfusing was over. The two siblings weren't in the best of shape so they needed Taylor's tanky physique to keep them protected. They would have to stay away from the water as well because much like Rosa, Taylor was also unable to swim which made combat in water exceptionally hard. Looking back to Rosa, Negan smiled again and went to grab her hand in preparation for their fusion. "Are you ready?"

Sonomi and Gjoll had both given their replies in near tandem, declaring that there was nothing wrong with the boy before they were teleported away, the boy having no idea of his next destination. In all honesty, he hoped it was set over some volcano or the deep sea, just to end it all. He'd hurt so many people, and ruined so much of the city, he couldn't be called anything except a monster. After all this time of trying to fight the bad guys, of trying to save people from harm, he'd ended up becoming the villain in all this, having given into his anger and being punished as a result. He didn't want to keep going, he didn't want to keep fighting like this. He just wanted it all to end.

The familiar scent of sea salt and bright light from the skies jolted Mairu back to attention, the giant fox having only a moment to look around before he crash-landed on the island, what amounted to knee high splashes spreading in all directions as he and the hell monster landed on the ocean floor. The boy looked from side to side as the beast wriggled about, finding that he was, indeed, back on Elysium, albeit having a wholly new outlook on the islands. The child hand't so much as stepped foot on any land beyond Alana since his arrival, but from his new size he began to grasp just how much there was to the small nation. Buildings, villages, a hospital, the mansion... it had all been his home for so long, and now...

The monster wriggled away from Mairu, two gargantuan paws falling deeper into the sand and water as the beast wormed away to gain some distance, but was very clearly still itching to fight. For a second, the boy was confused, not understanding how to proceed from here, worried that another battle would simply destroy more, fearing the beach would never be the same again after this. Could he even fight like this? The most he'd done on all fours was move fast, this was a whole not kind of fight, the boy feeling as if his hind legs were now too weak to support him if he stood. There was also the case of his tails being on fire earlier, but all of that was done out of instinct. As things were, the child's tails were void of flames, and he was unsure of how to even ignite them again. And if he did, wouldn't he just be right back at square one?

The boy's head drooped, having no idea on how to proceed, about ready to make a run for it and save everyone the trouble of having to deal with him as well before a familiar voice caught his ears. Turning his head, Mairu found Mercutio next to him, the giant fox recognizing the teasing tone, but ears still drooping as he responded to the leader of Elysium, "Mercutio, I... I don't know what happened! I got mad, and then everything broke and... and then I found out I was like this..."

The boy paused, having barely any understanding of his condition, let alone if it was permanent. Surprisingly, the cloaked man didn't seem to give much thought to the matter of Mairu in general, taking it in stride as he simply leaned back and let the scene play out as it would. He even promised to take the boy out for "gelato" after the monster was beaten, Mairu taking a moment to connect the newly named frozen treat back to the promise of ice-cream, the child's eyes lighting up as he thought back to Sonomi's promise. Gjoll's promise. Now Mercutio's promise. They weren't afraid of him, after all he'd done, they still tried to help, still wanted him around... and now his home was in danger once more. But this time, he could help!

With a nod to the man, Mairu turned back to his opponent, lowering his head with a growl and a nod, staring the fellow kaiju down in return, doubt gone from his mind for the time being. No matter his shape, form or actions, he'd have a home here, and he wasn't going to let anyone take that away from him, or the people who'd struggled so hard to achieve a place to live in peace! The child abruptly barked out to the monster across the way with glowering eyes, "Leave our home alone!"

Before charging at it with unprecedented speed, the boy huffing as he kicked off a mound of sand into the air behind him, aiming to once again wrestle the creature. If he'd been able to pin it, then with the help of the others, he'd definitely be able to do it again, the boy jumping a small ways into the air with a vocal grunt, jaw open and eyes set on the beast's neck. This time, the kill wouldn't be out of anger or of hate, but because this creature was threatening his home, and it didn't look like it was going to try and reason with them.

In an instant, the bleak scene of the Washington D.C. battlefield vanished in a brilliant flash of crimson light. Gjöll was familiar enough with the strange sensation of teleportation to recognize it immediately. As crimson light faded, it would be clear that the trio and their new “friend” had returned to Adrestia's warm island home of Elysium, or a bit above it at the very least. Mairu’s orange fur would fall away from beneath Gjöll’s feet, as the pull of gravity on the two Kaijus was far greater than on the two much smaller Adrestian Generals. As both he and Sonomi fell back towards Mairu’s shoulders below them, without thinking Gjöll would reach out to with his left hand and try to grab her arm intending to pull the smaller white haired girl toward him. If successful he intended absorb the shock from the landing for the both of them. Having been tossed around my Mercutio dozens of times, he wasn’t at all concerned about his own body’s ability to handle the landing.

It wouldn’t be until after he landed and exhaled the breath he had been holding in, that he would notice the awkward position he had put both of them in. “Sorry about that….” he half laughed struggling to complete a thought, carefully setting Sonomi back on her own feet, as the blood rushed to his face. “I’m not sure w-.. I don’t kn-....my body just acted on its own… again sorry…” Obviously flustered by the situation, Gjöll almost welcomed the distraction created by the other Kaiju’s escape. He would watch the large creature carefully tracking its movements to make sure that it didn’t try anything too drastic. Once the Kaiju and stopped and begun to Mairu, he would would keep an eye on it ready for it to spring toward them.

"Mercutio, I... I don't know what happened! I got mad, and then everything broke and... and then I found out I was like this..."

I already told ya bud!” He began speaking softly, again trying to console the younger but far larger fox. "We don’t blame you for anything that happened. We're here to help you through anything.” He would paused for a moment, gently stroking the back of Mairu’s neck despite the fact the he most likely wouldn’t even notice . “Back before I met Mercutio I had no control over my quirk. Constantly in fear of going on a rampage, I ran away from home. Left my family behind so that my they wouldn’t get blamed for anything I did. When I met Merc, He promised to help me gain control over over my abilities, and he kept that promise. For the most part, I don’t have to worry about hurting people on accident anymore. I guess I even learned to rely on the part of myself that I once feared.” Gjöll would stop again for a moment, as a confident fanged grin formed on his face. “If you think this “little” development is going to make us think anything less of you, it won’t. While the size will take some getting used to, I’ve been through the rest of it all before, you start feeling like you are losing control just let me know and I will help you find your way back, no matter how many times it takes."

As for that thing..” He growled referring to the Kaiju that had previously been held by the horde. “The one who created it would like nothing more than to cause as much destruction as possible. Now that we don’t have to worry about bystanders or buildings, we can deal with it properly.” Gjöll would use his tail to help him maintain balance as Mairu charged toward the other creature. “If you can get a good grip on it, I can get on top of it and see how many damage I can do without holding back.” Despite the inherent risk of this plan there was an air of confidence in his voice and body language that completely masked any doubts that he had about it. He would be on guard as they approached, ready to react to incoming attacks or go on the offensive if Mairu were able to get a hold on the Kaiju.

Sweet Baby Lemon Hands, the wizard, is here to the rescue!

With D.C a thing of the past for Sonomi, she was teleported once again to a new area with the other two that formed the three musketeers. Teleportation was overall a feeling she was still stuck in the middle on as the world around her shifted to be that of her home, the one with the shifting ocean waves and the sand that melted between her toes. There was another feeling was wasn’t too fond of besides teleportation as she felt the breeze rapidly breezing past her clothes. Unfortunately Sonomi hadn’t quite taken into account that the sudden shift of gravity would force her and Gjöll to be some ways in the air due to their size in comparison to the two Kaijus. Crap crap cra-..!? Upon the two of them falling back upon Mairu’s shoulders, there was an instinctive grab towards her arm before pulling her into their embrace. The intention to take the initial blow of impact for the both of them was more of a surprise to her, but the feeling of warmth was more notable as it pulled her into relaxing comfortably into them. With a small sniff and with their breathing being so close to her ear did she assume it must of been the only other person who could of swallowed her whole with his body.

Sorry about that…

Sonomi’s face flustered into something akin to a full on tomato that could win first prize at a competition, but she couldn’t really understand the feeling as even her heart beat escalated from how close they were. It wasn’t because of being claustrophobic right? He was kind to help her get back onto her feet though all she could do at first was laugh out of embarrassment along with him. Her eyes soon found themselves looking over towards Gjöll, the other Adrestian General, who also had just as much of red painted expression on his face like herself. “You… didn’t have to do that.” She silently said as she even had trouble formulating words before instinctively reaching her right hand to lightly rub the top of his head with needed help of her getting on tippy toes. “T-Thank you, Gjöll.” She finished before giving him a warm smile and retrieving her hand back from his hair that she might’ve gotten lost in if it hadn’t been for the sounds of Mairu and the other Kaiju nearby.

The rather unfriendly Kaiju must of found an opportunity to skitter away as now both Mairu and the thing were on opposite ends of each other, one waiting merely for the other to strike as a familiar voice spoke. "Mercutio, I... I don't know what happened! I got mad, and then everything broke and... and then I found out I was like this..." She would of spoken up again like the many times before but it seemed Gjöll took her place instead, her eyes looking over towards him as he did his best to comfort the now big fox despite the lack of notably for his physical actions. He continued to talk and get a bit in depth about how he was before and the steps he took to improve himself physically and more so mentally thanks to Mercutio. I couldn’t agree more, Gjöll. She thought to herself as she silently admired the speech he gave their little fox friend as did her best to hang on tightly to his fur - they were still pretty high up after all.

Trust in Gjöll’s words Ruru-chan, we love you no matter how big you are! We’ll do our best to guide you on the right path.” She was quick to add before slowly making her way up to where the other general was himself, their eyes locking onto the problem that laid in front of them as the Kaiju. It was a shame that her seal was used up, a few grunts escaping her lips as she had been desperately trying to call forth the gun that laid dormant within the bracelet for some time. After a few more attempts with no success, it seemed that whatever resources she had left were all in her pistol hands as she looked over back towards Mercutio.

Typical that her brother sat on top of a cloud of crimson while flipping something, possibly one of those anime books he loves so much as she was suddenly whisked away by the sudden speed of Mairu bolting at the Kaiju. If it hadn’t been for her gripping tightly with at least one of her hands before, there was most certainly the possibility for her to fall off as she braced for impact. Sonomi could barely understand the plan Gjöll told to Mairu but she had a plan of her own as she looked at how deep they were in the water. “Try to push them more into the water, deep into the waters.” She said in a sudden tone of seriousness before slowly scooting over towards the edge of Mairu’s right shoulder and awaiting for when it looked safe. Her eyes no longer wandering over towards her family and Gjöll, but to the raging waters below for the opportunity to test something she’d been practicing for a while...

As most eventful days in Elysium started, today was rather calm and dull. Artemis had gone off to try and find something to cheer her foxy friend up. He had been a bit sick recently with some kind of illness which caused the girl to become concerned about him. She would've cooked up some soup but, being only 10 years old, she had no access to anything to cook the dish with, nor did she have the knowledge. And so the little dragon had decided that today she'd comb the beaches looking for interesting pieces of shells or anything that had washed up despite how unlikely that was. 'At least it'd give me time to think of something that I can make for Mairu to make him fell better.'

With her harness and attached pocket on, the gadgeteer headed off to the familiar sands. The only thing that peaked her interest wasn't any shells or drift wood, but rather an actual proper boat with cargo on board. Such a thing wasn't completely unheard of, but new people and new goods were always worth investigating. Artie paused on a rock about as large as herself in the distance, watching curiously, as she decided how to approach the situation. 'Should I just walk up? If they were bad people one of the stronger residents would've been here already, so they shouldn't be mean.'

Before the little dragon could make a decision on how to greet these new people and possibly rifle through their goods, the portal opened up to spit out the Kaiju's and Yonkos. The sheer size of the two creatures, bug and fox, dwarfed the already tiny creature to a degree that she hadn't experienced before and caught her attention so that she didn't much notice all of the other havoc that was started to take over the beach. People started to speak, particularly the workmen whose boat had just got flipped. Being too far away from the group Artemis couldn't really make out any words, but that didn't seem to matter much in the face of the fighting giants.

Artie shifted onto her feet and shuffled her wings, uneasy. The two creatures were certainly dangerous, but the little girl wasn't too sure what to do. That was until she heard a very familiar voice boom out at an unfamiliar level. Arctic eyes stopped shifting between the two giants to focus on the fox, narrowing at him. '...Mairu..?' she thought, both shocked and surprised. Her friend was a fox, yes, but he was the size of a normal boy, not a sky scraper. Still, there was no mistaking the voice that seemed to come from the fluffy kaiju, if not somewhere near him.

Mairu's exclamation to "Leave our home alone!" was enough for the orphan to act. After all, this was all of their home, and if Mairu was involved in this fight then so too would the feathery dragon. Artemis launched herself off of the rock, using her new found ability to fly to aim straight towards the buggy Kaiju. Her wings still beat in a slightly uneven beat, but with all of the time she had put into training since her first time flying the path was much more even and less jerky than before.

Artemis altered her course to fly slightly above the battle. The main problem she could see in her joining was her size. How was a foot tall creature meant to fight off someone that had toes bigger than her? 'You're small and quiet, can they even see you?' the silent creature thought to herself, trying to build up on what confidence she had. As she flew closer the little dragon could see that not only was Mairu involved in this fight somehow, but also Feraocity and cookie-lady. Teeth clenched grimly, arctic eyes focused on the creature to think where she could maximize the damage.

The only way that the orphan thought she could make a difference was to go for the weak points. As with most creatures, the eyes tended to be a good go to. 'If anything I should be able to blind it.' While Artie didn't know much about how cookie-lady fought, she knew that Gjoll was a good fighter and should be able to dish out some damage. She tore her thoughts away from wondering if Mairu really was the giant fox beneath her, or if he was somewhere else, and focused on getting her position right. When the feathered creature had heaved herself up above the giant bug's head, she hung there for a brief second before folding her wings, arrowing down and falling. The way that Artemis had angled herself, she had hoped to bump against the snout of the thing, letting out one powerful slash with sharp talons, before slipping off to flap away as fast as her little wings could carry her.

The kaiju growled, or maybe it was more accurate to say it snarled. No, it was more akin to an insect; a deep clicking resonating from within the creature. One thing which couldn't be mistaken was its hostility when glaring at Mairu. The giant fox was standing opposed to it, the two about to strike at any moment. It barely registered Mercutio and the others nearby, nor the two smaller figures which had fallen by Mairu. That wasn't to even mention the tiny dragon which fluttered about the two. All that existed in the world to the beast was Mairu and it. This was life or death for the creature.

Now.

The tension reached a peak, cracking in grand fashion as Mairu leapt out for a vicious strike at the kaiju. The kaiju's natural instincts activated, going full predatory mode in this heated exchange. The kaiju dashed forwards as well, sliding down low and causing the tides to fly aside. Water flew up and filled the air; the giant kitsune shooting down at the kaiju while the insect-like beast slid forwards from below. The two huge forces were devastating. Its left arm raised up in front of it, the bladed scythe on its arm swinging out in the path of Mairu's bite. The wide blade wasn't meant to slice at Mairu's mouth, but to stop his bite, filling his mouth with something else to worry about. Defence wasn't its only priority, winding its right arm back for a punch. It swung up from below the fox's jump, aiming to hit its stomach.

Artemis' efforts were undertaken with great risk, swooping in to strike the kaiju in the midst of a battle which involved titans. As the little dragon swept by, she would miss her intended location due to the kaiju rapidly dashing forwards. Still, she connected, slashing against the carapace on the back of its head. Unfortunately this did little to deter the beast, and if it did notice the attack, it would have been only an enabler for further aggression.

As Mairu and the Kaiju collided, the beast was pushed back; knees buckling from the weight and digging deep into the banks of Elysium. The waters rocked violently and flew around chaotically; the monster almost up to its chest in its current position. The Kaiju let out another roar, attempting to shove the fox boy back if he was still biting onto the scythe. But before this, it would try to leave a present for the fox boy. Regurgitating a green liquid, it would spray out a glob of venomous liquid towards Mairu's open jaw if it was still open, or simply around the area of his maw.

God of Destruction
Silence fell over Mercutio, his worries coming to rest at zero as he smoked lazily in the distance as he watched on and gave advice as needed. Staring blankly at the monster, a realization would hit the Crimson King and he'd give a snap of his fingers in response.

A new presence would manifest onto the field, a stranger among the forest of familiar faces.

"Oh! I probably should have asked your name, but uh... yeah, I should have started there, eh? Shoot, what's your name, kid?" Mercutio thought out loud to Cameron as he waved it off. "Nevermind, more importantly... he asked, his words more just side commentary as he reached out, "Can you fly?"

The question was easily answered by the man's own knowledge and information, but it was more of a warning for anyone who knew him. Laughter filled the air among the two of them, the battling raging on over top them in the short distance. A palm was firmly placed to the small of his back as Mercutio gave a semi-reassuring pat on the back.

"Fly on over there and show yourself what I know you can do!" he said without giving any words on the matter. A wave of crimson carried the boy off his feet and from where they stood on the hot sands to where the battle raged on in the shallow depths of Elysium's shores. Before he could speak in response, Cam would be airborne.

"There is a reason limits are made, it is not because we are truly limited or we lack potential... it's in fact quite the opposite." Mercutio-senpai explained, "I find people not only perform better under pressure by forcing them into situations that they'd never have dreamt up. I do it in hopes to trigger something." he explained, "Limits are made to be broken and here on Elysium, we are UNCHAINED!" he screamed, his emotions ramping up as he felt more and more intensely driven by the presence of this boy. "The will to live, when it is strong in one. When able to stare down death and continue with the will to fight... that's a very rare breed indeed and it's people like that with the potential to do anything. Within them burns something innate, hidden and animalistic. A trigger and second-nature reaction fueled by their need to get stronger, their will to fight and overall determination to win." he rallied, his words for sure loud enough to be heard by his family fighting among him on the beach.

The blood, sweat, and fear of the battle. The intermixing emotions. It all brewed a thick fog in the metaphorical sense; it was thick and murky and was heavy to wade through making the approach for Cameron that much harder as Mercutio put a lot of faith into what could happen next.

"Boy with my Baby Sister's quirk..." he growled, "Don't make a mockery of my Sister's legacy by allowing people to tell you your nothing more than a support or side-kick. Don't for a moment thin There is such thing as 'too much of a good thing'. Know it, use it." he said, lighting up a fresh joint as he dropped the roach of his old one in the sands below him.

'The energy might draw from you, but it's still the target's body... just over-boost him.' he thought to himself silently with each and every exhale of his joint.

"All right you little shit's, when I get back in my fucking wheelchair I'll show you." a younger Mercutio growled as a group of kids cornered him in an alleyway, behind him his baby sister Mia. "Mia, it's alright!" he reassured her before the larger of the two boys manifested his quirk, crushing Merc's wheelchair. A sensation of rage was born within him, but the constant reminder of Mia's frantic tugging kept him down to earth.

This was no random mugging, but a common occurrence and while Mia was rarely harmed... it was the principal of the matter. The kids in their neighborhood new that he was a very protective older brother and used his love as a tool to play games as children commonly do. This time in question, however, was especially bad. Mercutio pushed each palm firmly against the wall that sandwiched in Mia, caged 'safely' between a cage of his arms with no legs to help prop or support him up. It was honestly a pathetic site, a weak man with a weak quirk and a helpless girl. A knife was drawn and that fear triggered something within Mercutio's baby sister... the fear of death.. the need to protect, it manifested her quirk for the first time that day.

Vibrant hues of crimson that normally flowed freely around, cascading off of Mercutio's body like solar flares, would fade away as a hazy, but translucent aura hung in the air. A wave of heat washed over the scene as the convection effect blurred his body. Mercutio fell silent which especially at that time was hard to do, not because he wished to, but was somehow physically unable to speak. His energy became blended with that of the world's energy and his quirk was shown in that moment for a mere blip of time with the full scope of what it would be. Mercutio's Soul balanced his speed and heightens his accuracy and vice versa in order to keep him from being outmatched and somehow, someway, gave him the miracle of movement. For the first time in his life, he stood to his fee (or what appeared to be standing) with a hand outstretched for any given bastard who stood before him. Magnetically, the vandals would fall by the wayside as scared Mia calmed down and with her calm, her quirk edging slowly off. While not being his energy, it was still his weak broke body being used and forcing legs to move that had never on their own before but a large toll on Mercutio's body. A moment of peace settled over him before the pain came on in full force and he keeled over from the pain. Writhing for only a moment, he quickly slipped into unconsciousness only to wake up at home nearly unaware.

"Let's see what he can do." he muttered to himself, a teacup and saucer hovering next to him in the air, a fire underneath the saucer to keep the contents of the cup warm. "My Family always tends to surprise me." he thought with a smile.

To Mercutio, it wasn't only his quirk that reminded him of Mia, his aura was similar to hers before she came to an untimely end. It was so eerie to have him in the area, see his energy and feel his aura and not have Mia. It was almost cruel and he did it all himself, reminding one of past mistakes makes them unlikely to be repeated...

Each and every member of Adrestia member gave Mercutio more purepose and meaning, every new addition... a renewed promise.

”What the hell? The world’s most dangerous man takes me to a bunch of islands and then teleports me to a bunch of kaiju? Wait.. Did he just tell me to fly?” Cameron flew through the air towards the two massive beasts. ”Damn it, why me? Okay, I just have to figure this out before I’m in the thick of it. It’s looks like everyone is talking to the big fox, so they’re probably the good guy.” ”You can’t just throw me at a couple of monsters and tell me to Over-Amp them like that! You lunatic!”
While Cameron couldn’t control himself in the air, he hope that Mercutio threw him more or less towards the good guys. He couldn’t quite control his quirk as well as he wanted, and generally had to stand still to start it, but if he was in mid air... That was just out of the question.
He closed his eyes and started to focus on just trying to amplify the the biggest thing he could find and hoped he would fly close enough to the fox for it to work. ”Blunt damage, you won’t be able to cut through it’s armor!”

Taller than You

Gjoll was quick to chime in one the boy's confusion reiterating his faith in the fox, stating that they'd stand by him through his change, and that his size mattered not. At first, the boy merely nodded, having been brought back to a sense that his new family really held a belief in him, a care that seemed to stretch beyond his appearance. The story, however, that his big brother told him of running away from his family, being unable to control himself and afraid he might hurt others or bring shame to those around him... It seemed they really were alike in more ways than one.

"Gjoll... I..." The boy started, head down, having figured that at this size, hearing him probably wouldn't be a problem for all those in the area but he supposed it fair that they were all privy to his secret, given they'd told him so much. The boy paused, eyes on the sand far below as he explained to the teen near his ear, "It's the same for me. I'm not an orphan like all the other kids, I just washed up on the beach cause... I did something bad. Cause of me someone died and I had to run away... but then you guys were all so nice and Mercutio gave me all that stuff to build and a place to sleep and Artemis was my friend and Gjoll was my brother and Sonomi baked cookies and... and..." The boy shook tears fiercely from his eyes, forgetting for a moment where his two passengers were and collecting himself, finishing off with a "quiet" tone, "I'm sorry I didn't tell you guys... I just didn't wanna have to leave you like I did my mom and dad..."

From there, Gjoll took it upon himself to mock the boy's new size, something he snickered at with a few tears in his eyes he blinked away, figuring it would have to be something he got used to, Sonomi bouncing off of the idea and declaring that his size wouldn't phase them. With his adoptive brother's declaration that all Mairu would need to do was ask to be reeled back in, the boy gave a solemn nod and stated a simple, "Okay," the duo's support bolstering Mairu's confidence as Gjoll gave the child a plan of attack, the giant fox nodding and speeding forward, Sonomi's words to him about the water unfortunately being lost in the cacophony that came after.

Mairu also missed Artemis' entrance entirely, the dragon's size and distance leaving her lost to the background in the child's focused eyes, going after the fellow behemoth with a vicious bite. To Mairu's surprise, however, he found his chomp interrupted by one of the monster's scythes, the boy clamping down on it out of instinct and finding himself in a rather precarious position against the monster. It seemed that while the fox was winning the contest in heft, pressing the fellow monster down into the sand, he had lost something very imperative for a fist fight: fists. With the blow coming in towards the child's stomach and unable to use his paws to block it, the boy's tails and body hair reacted out of instinct, the former wrapping around his body as best they could and the latter straightening to the nth degree, creating a layer of protection between him and the punch.

The boy's body would reverberate throughout as the punch landed, hoping that no serious damage had been suffered as he held onto the monster in spite of its protest. It clearly didn't want the boy on him, which meant he was doing something right, struggling against the creature with closed eyes in a tug of war before he suddenly felt a jump in his body's energy, eyes popping open as the monster seemed to grow weaker... was that the opposite? Whatever the cause was, it sure gave the fox a start, his tails jumping up for a second and potentially catching anything airborne at that moment before settling back down. Suddenly, Mairu felt like he could win this fight...

In his shock, the fox's eyes locked onto two dots down by the beach standing very close together, searching his mind for who they could be... wait, they were moving closer, definitely Negan and Rosa! He'd only caught glimpses of what their dance accomplished, but he knew it to be pretty darn impressive, narrowing his brow for a moment as he made his decision. Taking Gjoll's words to heart, the boy let loose with all of his strength, attempting to tug the beast right out of the water and towards the brother and sister. During his attempt, however, it seemed the fellow kaiju had chosen to play dirty this time round, spitting some disgusting green goo at the boy. The ooze made contact with Mairu at the end of his attempt to throw the beast onto land via its scythe, the venom landing around his maw.

Being ever still the child, Mairu was fast to dunk his head into the water below, attempting to remove the liquid from his face before coming back up and shaking his fur, unleashing torrents of water as he declared with a loud, displeased, "Ewww!" Spitting into the water for good measure.

As Negan eyed the fight between Mairu and the kaiju, he began to grow antsy. The maroon haired boy knew that they needed to fuse and help out as soon as they could but if the fighting was taking place in the deep water then all they would really be able to do was attempt to support from the sidelines. If the two of them were to help to the best of their ability then that meant they would need to try and fight the thing on land but as far as Negan knew, none of the others were aware of Taylor's aversion to water. It would be up to Negan to tell them because the odds of Rosa going and yelling at them to bring the monster over to them were astronomically low. Cupping his hands to his mouth, Negan called at the top of his lungs to Mairu. "Hey! Taylor can't swim! Bring that thing over here so we can fight it." As Negan yelled at them he was pleasantly surprised to find that Mairu was already in the process of attempting to get the thing over to them. That was pretty cool.

Not wasting any time, Negan squeezed his sister's hand to let her know that he was about to initiate fusion. Due to the limitations of Rosa's quirk carrying over while they were fused, Taylor was unable to swim and as a result it made them hesitant to fight in water. However being in water didn't paralyze them so as long as they weren't fully emerged then they could move around just fine. Negan figured that they'd be safe enough if they only went up to their waste in the ocean. Any more than that might get too sketchy. Besides, they only needed to be in there for a little bit until they could fling the kaiju onto Elysium. From there they could fight it without any worries of drowning. "Let's go, Rosa!"

T-Thank you, Gjöll.

Y-Yeah, don’t mention it.” Gjöll quietly assured Sonomi, a slight stammer in his voice, as she retracted her had from the top of his head. He could feel the blood in face burning even hotter as she had touched his head. While no one aside from maybe Mercutio would have been able even see the whole exchange, it still left him feeling a bit awkward, along with a whole bunch of different emotions he wasn’t used to or able to process at the moment. Judging by the shade of red her face had turned, the other Adrestian General was just as embarrassed about the whole event, as he was. Luckily for both the Kaiju’s escape had cut provided a perfect distraction.

Mairu’s story had confirmed what Gjöll had already pretty much figured out about his new younger brother. Despite the timing of his appearance he was not one of the African Elections orphans. What had hadn’t expected was how similar some of the elements of the boy’s past were to his own. Apparently the kinship they shared was went further than just the events they had gone through together and they adoptive family they shared.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you guys... I just didn't wanna have to leave you like I did my mom and dad..."

No need to apologize Mairu...” The scruffy teen softly responded, gripping the kitsune's fur slightly, to avoid getting thrown around too much by the tearful shaking. “I completely understand. When you have lost everything once, it makes you willing to do just about anything to prevent it from happening again.

Gjöll watched the opposing creature carefully as Mairu charged towards it. He caught a glimpse of Artemis as she started her dive bomb against Kaiju but wouldn’t see the result of the attack , as he had to switch his full attention back to the monster when it moved in response to Mairu. He wanted to call out to his small feathered friend, to tell her to be safe, but would resist the urge, knowing full well that it would likely distract Mairu if he got concerned for her safety as well. The creature would meet Mairu’s bite the blade of one of its large scythe like claws. While the blade had prevented Mairu’s from getting a firm grip on the Kaiju’s body, Mairu’s hold on the blade had provided another opportunity to reach the other Kaiju.

Exhaling deeply Gjöll again sharpen his senses, as adrenaline flooded his body and muscles limbered up in preparation for the next step of his plan. He would turn to look back at Sonomi, quickly noticing was wearing slippers, as normal, and that she was looking down towards the water. “I’m not sure how much I would want be down in the water with these two stomping around.” He began, taking a quick glance back at the back toward the scythe-like arm that Mairu still held onto. “If we can make it across, we should be able to inflict some serious damage from on top of it.” His face would heat up again as the flustered feeling from earlier returned, as he turned to look back at the white haired girl while stretching out his left arm to her. “Do you trust me?

If she accepted, he would quickly pull her up onto his back. “Make sure you hold on tight.” Gjöll cautioned, giving her a moment wrap her arms and legs around him. Upon feeling impact of the creature’s punch at Mairu’s stomach he would let out growl of concern “You ok bud? I’ll make sure to pay him back for that one.” No matter the Kitsune’s response he wouldn’t waste any more time before attempting to take off at near full speed along the Kaiju’s scythe arm, watching for any attacks the creature make tried to throw at them. He would use his tail to help balance the unusually distributed weight, even dropping down to all fours to run if he needed to in order to maintain his balance.

"Hey! Taylor can't swim! Bring that thing over here so we can fight it."

He would here Negan’s call out to Mairu as the reached the creature’s shoulder. If Mairu was successful in his attempt to pick up and throw the Kaiju toward land and the Taylors, Gjöll would grab onto any outcropping he could find in the carapace near the creature’s neck, digging his claws into it inorder to help increase his grip. ”Hold on again!” He would caution to the girl still on his back. As the creature fell through the air he would make sure to position himself so that neither he nor Sonomi were in any danger of getting crushed by the create. Still gripping the creature’s carapace with his left hand as the it neared the ground, he would attempt to spike the creature into the lava rock that made up the island with his right gauntlet covered hand, releasing his left hand’s grip on the creature at the last moment.
