”That’s the stuff,” groaned a man, his cold voice rasping against the rusted floors. His eyes were closed in ecstasy, relishing the taste of something. A wisp of vapour leaked out from his mouth as he talked, forming from the freezing cold air. It was just barely visible, dimly lit by the few overhanging lights which were far above the man’s head in this giant room. Letting out a sigh, his head rested against his metal chair - although it would be more accurate to describe it as a throne. A large metal throne, too big for the average man to fill. He remained seated there as time passed on, motionless like a corpse, long bony arms stretched out and resting on the armrests, eyelids lazily resting down. And yet, even as his eyes were closed, if one was there; they wouldn’t be able to shake an inescapable feeling. As if something was looming there, in the dark, watching in quiet from behind that giant throne, waiting. ”Here ya’ are,” said a jubilant old man, turning his head back as he did. He was sitting at the driver's seat, controlling the small shabby bus as it tumbled on forwards. Lifting his foot off the pedal, the bus let out a squeal of relief and stopped. The engine quiet, the cheery pop music from his radio flooded into his ears. "Doo doo dooo do," he hummed under his breath, putting the bus into park. They’d been driving up an inclining hill for a while, finally reaching the peak after half an hour. And just there at the top, not far away from where they’d stopped, was a sight not many would ever see. A massive circular vault door, thick metal all the way through. It was big enough to fit a damn house through. The opening jutted out of the side of a mountain, right at its base. Just a week ago, this bus wouldn’t have even been able to near the area. But that was a week ago, and since then things had changed. As it was, the door was wide open, swung to one side as light shined into the abandoned interior. ”That there’s the only entrance,” the bus driver said, pushing a lever and opening the bus’ door. There were 4 people in the bus, all of which looked to be a bizarre crowd. With one glance you could tell something was going on. The bus driver himself knew what they were here for, he was their guide after all. And he had some pity in his eyes as he looked at them - a creeping feeling that they wouldn’t make it out alive. ”As you know, your job’s to infiltrate the reserve and find out what the hell’s going on. Report back with your findings then, you'll receive further instructions after. Each of you grab one of these on your way out,” he said, pointing to 4 brick phones lined up next to the bus’ exit. They were heavy duty, just the caliber necessary for this mission. As it was, the vault was 2 floors deep, going down underground where most signals would be blocked out. The 4 would have to hope that these phones would work. ”Good luck.” Once they all exited, the man would drive off, heading back the way they came. The group would only be a few dozen meters away from the large vault doors. They were open, light seeping in from outside into the dark interior and illuminating some of it. Aside from that, there were a few dim lights, some flickering on and off, others just about to die. Dank Brick Phones OOC

The horrific event spurred mixed reactions; ranging from fear to shock, and even a complete show of apathy. Atticus' cold disinterest was, once again, worrying—yet somewhat humorously not unexpected. He seemed intent to continue using his 'allies' as human meat-shields for his own defence. Edmée who had been the most bold and vocal against trusting the man went into a complete state of shock as the event unfolded. She displayed a strong will earlier but now that was unimportant, the death having a large impact on her. On the other hand; the governor general was mostly fine—but unlike his colleague Atticus, Logan showed a normal reaction. Still, he was able to hold in any shock due to hardened experience. On the opposite end of experience was Codi who, much like Edmée didn't take well to the death. But, unlike his teammate, Codi was able to maintain composure after walking away and cooling his head. Whether or not his newfound confidence would truly hold together was something which would only be revealed by time, but for now it was best that everyone kept calm. Logan's role as leader came with responsibilities and the man hadn't quite failed yet. To Codi's questioning, the man went ahead and checked the elevator. Thankfully for him, the elevator was not trapped. At least for now, it was safely able to hold his weight. On the inside there were some simple buttons on the panel; a button to go to each floor (1-Floor, 2-Middle, 3-Lowest), buttons to close and keep the door open, and an alarm button which was jammed. Under it was a plaque with the elevator's information; including the maximum weight capacity which was 24 people. There wasn't actually enough room for that many people, but it was still rather spacious and would easily contain the group of 4. Having come down this corridor and no other, the group had little other way to go than the elevator. Unless, of course, they sought to try and kill each and every tentacle blocking their way out. But with the exception of Edmée, it seemed that the group had gathered their composure and was ready to proceed. |

Logan poked his head outside of the elevator after making sure that it was safe to travel down. Now that he though about it, the criminals that entered this place probably wouldn't have sabotaged the elevator as it seemed to be the only way to traverse the floors. If they were at one of the underground floors then that meant they would need to use the elevator to get back up and make their inevitable escape. "Hey, the elevator is safe. Let's get going. We were told that guy is on the bottom floor so that's where we're going." Once everyone was inside the metal box, Logan would press the proper buttons that would cause the elevator to descend further into the facility. This tentacle virus was a very unsettling thing to think about but at least they now knew what they were dealing with. The sin of Gluttony wasn't entirely sure just what they would be greeted with when the doors opened but he would be ready. The elevator may not have been trapped but Logan damn well knew that these people were going to keep a close eye on whatever used it. There was a good chance that the criminals would even have guns trained on the doors of the metal contraption. The elevator was very clearly in use so it wouldn't be out of the question for them to immediately ambush Logan's group once the doors opened. While they descended, Logan felt like it was a good time to eat but unfortunately there was nothing left in his bag for him to eat. Not to worry, if the bad didn't have anything in it then Logan would just eat the bag itself. Being able to metabolize literally anything came in handy quite a lot in Logan's life. Taking the bag off of his back, Logan chewed on it with his sharp teeth before eventually shoving the whole thing in his mouth and swallowing it whole. He would need to find something else that he could use to keep his energy going. That wouldn't be too hard of a task but if they were in a fight then it might be a pain in the ass. Edmée couldn't tell how much time had passed since the soldier in front of her died. Somewhere between an instant and infinity, she was finally able to shake the image of that tendril tearing his face apart as it snaked its way out of his body, instead she found little but a corpse in front of her, its face, and the tendril snaking from it burned black and still smoking. Edmée felt the trembling in her arms reside and the strength in her knees begin to return. Putting one hand on the ground, she hoisted herself back into a standing position, though she felt as if she was still unable to look away from the gruesome scene before her. She felt her stomach churn at the sight again. She put one hand on her stomach, and another on her mouth to attempt to keep it close, but she found herself unable to vomit again so soon after the first time. She clenched her eyes shut, attempting, best as she could, to forget what had just transpired before her, turned around, and walked. Edmée bumped into the wall on the other side of the hallway and used an arm to brace herself, finally opening her eyes. She wavered for a few steps, but made her way towards the group's voices nontheless. When the woman finally joined up with the group in the elevator, she wouldn't say anything unless asked, but even through the blank expression and sickly pale look on her face, there was a fire in her eyes. No one should have to die like that... There's no way anyone who could do that do another person is human. Edmée looked up, watching Logan consuming the entire backpack that he had brought with them. For whatever reason, she had assumed that the bag was filled with supplies, but now that she thought about it, it must have been filled with snacks. Has he really gone through an entire bag already? Looking to her coat pocket, she began to fish out the unreasonably large phone, nearly cursing as different corners kept getting stuck on the very edge. By some magical force, she was finally able to give the phone egress. Almost immediately afterwards she would put it in front of Logan. "Not like we'll be needing these anymore, just as long as we have one, yeah?" Summary

Atticus had to take a second to see the reactions of everyone else. It was a bit difficult given where he was positioned, but he was able to catch enough. It was somewhat funny, but he manages to keep a straight face to it all. He was more so hoping no one was affected to the point where they could be a liability. Death was nothing different to Atticus, in fact, he couldn't care less about anyone he didn't give a hell about. What he cared about at this point was getting the mission moving some more as he waited for the self-appointed leader to do his job. Leaning his head against the wall he was standing against, he waited for everyone else to make their exits while watching them move closer to the elevator. Once he was assured that the area was safe, he would follow them inside as this apparently was the only way down. He didn't have a good feeling about it all and he was more than positive at this point that neither of them was actually listening to anything he was saying. It was grating, really, he was trying to help... in his own way, and yet he went ignored. Keeping that in the back of his mind, he knew that it was best he kept his own opinions to himself at this point. In fact, hew as happy to do that as he was only worried about his own safety compared to everyone else. Besides, if anything were to go wrong, he wouldn't be made the cause of it all. Smirking to himself while in the corner of the elevator, he watch as they descended down to one of the floors beneath them. Keeping himself positioned to where if the doors of the elevator were opened, he would have kept his body out of the view of anything or anyone as he kept close to the wall where the buttons of the elevator. This shit is most definitely a trap, but let's see where their decisions get us." Summary and Everything

Codi took one last look at the room where the man had expired and then walked into the elevator. He was the last one to get on and tried to stand off to the side away from everyone else. He wanted to remember that man’s face to remind him, THIS ISN’T A VIDEO GAME. Living in a world where you see your favorite heroes defeat evil with a smile it’s some times makes you forget that people still die and heroes die every day. “Not me, I refuse to die.” He said barely audible. Codi was what you call a stubborn person so he was gonna make sure that he would be going home after this mission. He noticed that Logan had pressed the descend button and that they would be going to investigate this virus that the man talked about. Codi cracked his knuckles and his neck. If it was earlier, Codi would’ve made a joke about how slow the elevator was but Codi wasn’t in a joking mood. As he felt the elevator start to slow down to a stop, Codi released the tension from the bottom of his heels and directed it all into the balls of his feet. This way if anything tried to jump out towards them when the door opens, he would have more success getting out of the way or attacking. Summary |

As the elevator descended, it would bump around and jolt for some reason. This facility was supposed to be top of the art for the maple syrup industry, but it seemed that something had gone wrong here; possibly due to damage. Fortunately for the four, the elevator reached its destination without killing them all. With a ding, the elevator settled and the door opened. The room past the doors was dark, devoid of any light. The light coming from within the elevator crept into the room, illuminating it slightly, just barely reaching the other end with a faint glow. But despite how dark it was, there was something in the room that all of them could see. A man. He was huge; big enough that he alone would take up all the room in the elevator. Snores filled the room, loud and raspy, his body rising up and down each time. His head—and upper torso—were sprawled out over a large metal table, his head turned away from the elevator. And as the large man slept there, he would occasionally budge from his spot. Anyone paying enough attention would be able to see a large axe leaning on the wall next to him, and if they were looking even closer; they would see the stereotypical appearance of the man. He had a large bushy beard, and wore a red and black plad shirt, alongside blue jeans. His head wasn't rested directly on the metal table; using a beanie hat as his pillow. Yes, this man was the Canadian lumberjack embodied. Even from the elevator, one could smell the aroma of wood emanating from him, as if he hadn't taken a shower since the first time he cut down a tree. Aside from him though, the room was completely empty, and completely quiet. If the group so wished to proceed, they could either confront the man or try to avoid him quietly. One choice would lead to death. It would be in their best interests to choose wisely. |

Standing in the elevator as it lowered to the bottom floor, Edme would hand Logan her brick phone so that he could eat it. The girl seemed to be rather perceptive of how often Logan was eating and she had probably deduced that he needed to keep eating or else something bad might happen. Taking the phone in his large hand, Logan grinned at the girl. "Thank you. If I don't keep eating then I start to fatigue." With that, the sin of Gluttony took a bite out of the phone and chewed it in his mouth before putting in the rest and swallowing it all down. He wiped his mouth and then got ready to exit the elevator as it dinged, the doors opening. Logan stepped out of the elevator only to see a dark room laid out before him. The only thing he could really see was what appeared to be a large lumberjack sprawled across a metal table. Logan almost couldn't believe how large the guy was. The Governor General himself was a fairly large guy but this man was something else entirely. He must have had some sort of giant quirk that increased the size of his body. The truth about the man's quirk certainly was curios but a better question was just what the fuck a man like this was doing down here. It was more than likely that the lumberjack was apart of the group of criminals but if he was asleep then Logan didn't really see a point in confronting him. They would be better off sneaking past this guy and catching the people further in by surprise. Then once they had dealt with all those people they could come back and take out the giant. "Alright. I have no idea who this guy is but we should sneak past him so that we can catch the other guys by surprise. Getting into a fight here will just draw attention and let them know that we're on this floor." he whispered to the group. Logan made extra sure to speak quietly so that the lumberjack didn't overhear him. Hopefully his teammates caught on and didn't end up doing anything stupid. The last thing they wanted was for this behemoth to wake up and go buck wild on their asses. After saying what he needed to say, Logan would slowly move his way across the room in order to move on. The rocky nature of the elevator was both to be expected and rather worrisome for Atticus. The fact that this was their only form of transportation through this place was irksome, to say the least. He had suggested before that they figure out a different way, but it was obvious his suggestions were falling on death ears at this point. It was to be expected, honestly, there were just some things you couldn't help, no matter the situation. Perhaps his carefree nature didn't give much trust to his choices, or the criminal record... no, more than likely the criminal record. Logan felt superior, that was the aura Atticus got from the man, he wasn't exactly open to the suggestions of the rest as he was the one so adamant about being the leader. There was just something about the attitude Logan had, it rubbed Atticus the wrong way. A hard thing to do, honestly, but it was to be expected. Atticus still harbored a bit of hatred towards the government for the way they screwed him out of a deal that could have been monumental for the lives of himself and his parents. They took the money he earned from him, and that was never going to sit well with him. Did this mean that Logan was the reason for this? No, not at all, but he was the figurehead. Sadly for him, that position meant that he took every arrow that was shot at him and those like him. Atticus knew this all to well and that is what made him a threat. He learned first hand and went through all the same things that Logan did, as different as the two may have been, nothing was going to change that fact. Smirking to himself, he would look up and then to his left as the elevator stopped. The doors would open soon after as they were greeted with a rather dark atmosphere. At first, he had believed there wasn't anything in sight, but he would catch the lumberjack sleeping in the corner with his ax directly beside him. If he isn't the biggest cliche to Canadian History if I have ever seen him. My god, this is comical." He thought while Logan spoke to them. Leaving his thoughts in the cloud, he tuned in for the end which was all that really mattered. Following the Governor out of the elevator and down the hall, he kept an eye on the ax-wielding maniac, he was obviously working with the people that caused this, that was never good. As the elevator threatened to collapse on the group, Edmée put put her hand in a claw on the wall behind her, the faint orange glow of her quirk digging in to the wall barely an inch. She didn't know what she was going to do if metallic cords finally snapped and sent them to the bottom of the well. After an unknown amount of time, Edmée could feel the force of gravity seem to slightly increase, bringing the end of their ride to the bottom. The woman release the breath that she didn't realize that she was holding. In a tense moment, a ding signaled the opening the doors. She wasn't really sure what met the group on the other side of door. She could hear it breathing. Her eyes took a moment to readjust. The first thing that popped up in her vision was the red plaid that covered what appeared to now be a man's giant torso Edmée paused. Was this really the man that had killed all of the teams that had come before? Wait, no. There's no way that he could use a quirk like that without realizing it. The woman thought to herself Just before the politician began to speak again. She nodded with him in agreement. At this point, her mind felt frayed from her encounter with the soldier, His intuition would probably be better than her's at this point. She did her best to keep her footsteps quiet, adjusting her weight slowly as she followed Logan. |

As the elevator came to a halt Codi was ready to spring at whatever was behind the door. As the doors slowly opened Codi saw what seemed to be a giant or some kind of ogre. As the figure became clearer Codi realized it was some sort of giant lumberjack. “What the hell.” This isn’t what Codi signed up for but in all honesty Codi signed up without really reading the description so maybe it did warn of lumberjacks. Codi waited as everyone got out of the elevator and he slowly dragged on behind them hearing from the back what Logan’s plan was. “Gotcha.” He whispered in agreement. The lumberjack was fast asleep and judging by his size that was for the best. Codi wasn’t much when it came to strength but he was fast and semi poisonous. “Good thing I’m in the back, because if he wakes I might be able to bite him before he comes fully to.” Codi thought to himself. Codi shook his head hoping that it wouldn’t come to that but ready if it did. Codi carefully watched where he was putting and picking up his feet on the ground to minimize the noise of his steps. One the perks of being Cobra like was the sneaky slithering nature that Cobras posses. |

With the elevator having reached its destination, the group of four stepped foot into the room. Some were apprehensive and some were amused, but all of them agreed to move by quietly. The large lumberjack's appearance was comical, true. But his sheer size and the intimidating axe which rested nearby was not. Thankfully, the group made a sound decision and crept quietly through the room; most of them keeping vigilant for any traps or objects which could cause noise. It was only natural, since their survival was hanging delicately on a razor-thin hairline. The door which lead out of the room wasn't far, and it wouldn't be long before Logan—the man in front—would reach it. It was quiet and things were going well, a little... too well. Something squirmed under the large man's clothing, just subtly enough that the group would only notice it if they were watching closely. It slithered out and peeked from inside the lumberjack's rolled up sleeves; eying Logan and the group. Hidden by the darkness, up above and on the ceiling, there was a speaker resting silently. Suddenly, a light on its side blinked red then green. "Big Joe! Wakey-wakey big guy, you've got visitors!" a voice boomed from above. It came from the speaker on the ceiling and filled the entire room. "Eh..!?" The large lumberjack jolted up in response, looking around the room in a dazed confusion. He was haggard and tired; eyes drooping in a hopeless glaze. Even his large beard, the symbol and pride of a Canadian lumberjack, was uneven and ragged. For some reason there was... defeat, in his eyes. And at the same time, acceptance and obedience. He stood from his seat, gripping his large axe and hefting it in his hand—as if it wasn't a fully grown man in size. "Sorry," he said in his distinctly Canadian accent, then stomped forwards and slung the axe in front of Logan. The huge blade crushed the flooring below it, digging deep and blocking their way. He didn't stop there, turning and grabbing the metal table he was just resting on. It creaked and groaned under his force, lifted up into the air and then flung towards the four intruders. OOC

The large ax would crash down in front of Logan, blocking everybody off from advancing on to the next room. Their attempts to remain undetected had been thwarted by someone monitoring them on the cameras and as a result it meant they would have to take down this big fellow. Turning around to face the Goliath of a man, Logan got ready to engage him in physical combat. He had experience with boxing in both High School and University and although he wasn't used to fighting someone larger than him, Logan knew what to do in order to catch larger opponents off guard. The only problem was that Logan really needed to eat something or else he would surely not have enough energy to knock this guy into next week. Scanning the room for anything that he could eat. Unfortunately there didn't seem to be anything there and Logan was left with a last resort. Sighing, Logan ripped off his shirt and ate it in one fell swoop. He didn't like being shirtless but if it meant providing him with enough energy to beat this guy up then he would just deal with it. After swallowing the fabric, Logan tensed up, concentrating and using the energy that he got from eating into his muscles. Logan's muscles would swell slightly, an indicator that he was ready to get started. However it was at that moment that the lumberjack threw the large metal table at them. Springing into action, Logan attempted to stop the table with his burly arm, outstretching it with an open hand to impede it from going any further. Once that was out of the way he rushed the large man, taking a boxing stance as he launched a powerful jab at the lumberjack's chest. He anticipated that the guy would lurch over on contact with the punch so he followed it up with an uppercut to the man's jaw. While he was stunned, Logan moved behind him, grasping his arms around Big Joe's waste and lifting him into a German suplex, attempting to drive the man's head into the hard floor. He of course had no knowledge of the squirming thing in Joe's shirt due to his eye sight being nothing special, although he did smell something that seemed to be separate from the lumberjack thanks to his superhuman nose. However he didn't think much of it as he attempted to put the man down for good. The suplex would no doubt be pretty effective as it would use Joe's own weight against him and direct it all towards his head. German Suplex The sin of Gluttony would then let go and back off from the man, evaluating the damage that he had been able to do to the guy. Hopefully it had been enough to knock the guy out because Logan really didn't want to hurt the guy more than he had to. These people were scum but he was still the Governor General and that meant he shouldn't use any excess force. summary,lp,techs, stats

Something told Codi that it would be too good to be true that they would walk out of the room without a confrontation. Codi watched the behemoth of a man wake up and swing his axe right in front of the group. “Shit!” Codi then witnessed Logan tear off his shirt and eat it. After eating, his muscles began to get bigger as if they were swelling. At that exact moment Mr. Lumberjack man decided to throw the metal table that he was sleeping on in their direction. Codi attempted to jump back at the same time Logan attempted to stop the table. Logan then proceeded to try and box the giant man. The lumberjack had said sorry before attacking them which Codi thought was a taletell sign that this man mostly didn’t have a choice in what he was doing, but nevertheless he was in their way and Codi had to figure out a way to help make this process as quick as possible. Codi closed his eyes and thought about which of his techniques would be most effective and the safest. After a few seconds his eyelids opened with a flutter and he came to a conclusion. He then begun to make several weird faces and to make a low almost frog like hum. He then felt a tingling sensation and finally the flow of liquid filling up his mouth. After his mouth was full, he ran towards the man and attempted to spray the man in his face. He would attempt this after Logan’s suplex attempt. Spoiler: click to toggle

There was a clear objective and each of them was clear as to what they were choosing to do when it came to the lumberjack. The current goal was to avoid him, creeping pass him, Logan took the front position as usual while Atticus kept behind him. This was the best position for him as last could have consequences, just as many as being in the front. The best position was either second or third and that is where he planned to keep himself no matter what. Closing in on the end of this hall, they were soon surprised by words over a loudspeaker. These very words were all the big lumberjack needed to wake up as he looks to have been defeated and assured at the same damn time. In a matter of seconds, the path they were on was cut off by a large ax and a fucking table was thrown at them. A now shirtless Logan would step forward to catch the table and then charge the opponent to slip around him and lock his arms around the lumberjack's waist. That's different, I guess... However, it is making good footage." Atticus spoke as he looks down a bit. His phone was positioned above the belt of his pants as he recorded the fight with Logan. He started it up the moment he saw Logan shirtless, figuring it was something he could use and capitalize on in the future. Smirking to himself, he was glad that Logan was such a show-off, something such as this wouldn't be coming about had he not gone out of his way to fight the Lumber-Jack. Not engaging, he wanted a chance to record more as well as saving his energy. Besides, Logan was giving a show and it would have been rude of Atticus to not give the show some attention, right? The snake boy was trying to help, will it work? Either way, it was already two against one, for the time being, Atticus wasn't needed right now, he just wanted a show. Summary and Everything |

Edmée heard the loudspeakers begin to buzz with static before they ever projected the man's voice, it was a sound that she had heard many times before in her old line of work. Back then the sound would get her fired up, but here it made her blood run cold. Before she even had a chance to stop in her tracks, much less turn around, the voice boomed around the room. She could feel almost every movement the large man made, the ground rumbling, commanding fear from those below. If she was going to be honest, this day was the first time that she had truly felt fear. But now wasn't the time for that. Now was the time to put on her game-face. With a deep breath, she flashed her teeth in a wicked smile, thinking that it was probably better to appear unconcerned with the situation, or perhaps even entertained, hell, it was her signature look back in the day. She scanned the lumberjack's physique and nearly crumbled inside. Sure, she had faced big guys during her few years in the ring, but anyone like this would have been barred from entry for fairness' sake. He must have at least weighed a ton! It didn't matter how much the guy apologized. Didn't matter how sickly he looked, the fact that he could lift an axe the size of a person with a single hand made him a threat! For a second, it looked like the axe was about to fall on top of her with no time to react.
