"Tch." As his gaze rested on the explosive boy, Rainer couldn't help but feel surprised. Something that happened caused his focus to be slightly agitated, and it was something that he had never experienced before. Upon transforming his arm to block the attack, he instantly felt a stinging pain around his arm. The attack didn't seem incredibly devastating, but for some reason its properties had allowed it to fully harm Rainer's arm despite his smoky form. This was a scary realisation, since the ability was one that he favoured for dealing with many attacks. But in this vital battle, he had no time to spend pondering the issue to solve it. His technique was something that took a while to train, and flaws couldn't be ironed out in the span of minutes. Hmm? In an instant, as he was watching the young boy, something happened. It was a bizarre sight, but he appeared to... combine? Alongside someone else nearby, who hadn't gotten a good look at, they fused. What? The boy had seemed to possess and indomitable will beforehand, given his preemptive attack, but now he seemed even more different. Smoke swirled around Rainer as he tensed himself and prepared to attack. The person shouted out loud, a crimson aura floating around them. The appearance reminded him of that man from before, and the intense power he felt. "Something's wrong-" The words that Rainer spoke would be cut off as the person sprinted towards them. There was a lengthy amount of space between them to start, but that person, no, that thing, covered the distance incredibly fast. And he was coming straight for Rainer. The young bounty hunter tried to retaliate, but could only just barely fire off a blast of smoke and raise his arms up close to his face as the person's fists came at him. "Agh!" The blast of smoke barely affected the hits, blasting apart and flying in every direction to spread smoke all around where Rainer just was. It collided with the oncoming sonic attack, slamming against and muffling the sound in the dense plumage. The impact of everything sent Rainer flying back, tumbling back across the ground as he tried to slow the momentum and stand up. Arms and chest aching in pain, the youth spit out some blood. The massive amount of smoke he'd shot out floated compactly around where the fused person would be. Rainer stumbled back, vision blackening briefly as he tried to regain focus. That piece of shit hits hard.. The disparity in strength made him chuckle softly, hacking some blood as he did. Ah.. that hurts.. Raising his head, Rainer could see the two other vitality members ahead. Another enemy seemed to have sprinted over, but Rainer didn't have to worry about that at this point. They had arrived much later than that bizarre combined person. Just remembering the sight as they shot straight at Rainer caused him to feel powerless. At around this time, Rainer was able to see an unsightly person in the distance. Mercutio. Why!? The fact that that man was here could have only meant one thing; Abyssal had lost. Why else would he be here? "Damn it." Rainer grit his teeth, wincing as he raised his right arm. It hurt to even move, but he ground his molars as smoke swirled out from around his arm. Another! The mass of smoke would shoot forwards at rapid speeds towards Mordred, spreading out after impact to cover the area in dense smoke if uninterrupted along the way. The bounty hunter was running low on fuel and he was heavily injured. At this point with Mercutio arriving, things were looking incredibly dire. He shot out that second blast to slow down Mordred who had arrived near Tapu and to spread out even more smoke so that his allies would have some more coverage on this battlefield. Rainer would stumble back after throwing it, sharp pains shooting up his arm as he heaved heavily. As it stood, there was only one thing on his mind; get to the jet. Maybe his allies would want to keep fighting, but despite his best wishes, Rainer couldn't. Physically, he was a liability. And thus, with the entrance of Mercutio, Rainer would attempt to begin hastily moving towards the jet. His right ankle hurt slightly from landing badly, but otherwise wasn't hit by that damned fused person. Summary LP

Much to Derge's surprise, the door popped open as soon as he began jiggling the handle. It was amazing that they hadn't kept their only means of transportation off the island guarded but the fact they didn't lock the thing up either was beyond stupid. Poking his head into the machine cautiously, Derge walked into the jet without any resistance. It seemed everyone was much too busy with the unfolding battle to actually pay attention to some scrubby fodder like Derge. For some, the fact that they had been ignored during a large battle like this one may have been an insult but to Derge it mattered little. He had gotten farther with his plan than he had expected and now it was about time he tried it out. Derge walked through the machine looking for things he could use or maybe some type of clue on how to fly the thing. One of the first things Derge would try to locate was a parachute, assuming he found one he would instantly strap it on and continue walking around with it on. As he searched he neared the front end of the plane, the closer he got the more his nerves started to get to him and the worse the plan was starting to look. Breathing in deep, he resolved himself to try at the very least. He continued his slow but steady venture to the front of the plane. "Oh god...how am I going to do this?" he mumbled to himself, finally realizing he had never flown a plane. Approaching the cockpit Derge looked upon it with wonder and amazement. His eyes were wide with a child-like curiosity as if he was some kid that was on a field trip to see what the inside of a plane looked like. There was only one difference with the prior scenario to the one Derge found himself in, Derge had no chaperone to tell him not to touch things. There were nobs and dials littered all over the place, along with button and let us not forget the yoke like steering-wheel that most modern jets contained. He was lost int he awe-inspiring moment that the plane's controls had created. Finding himself thrown into the seat he unconsciously began pressing buttons and turning nobs in an uneducated attempt to get the plane to start. Derge's rampaged of button mashing and dial cranking wound not end until one of two things happened. Either the plane would start or he exhausted every last option he had, all of the buttons, knobs, dials, and levers that the mechanical marvel had to pull, push, twist, and yank. One at a time, placing it back into its previous location. If that didn't work he would start doing it in combinations and sequences. The teen was bound and determined to try and get the thing started at the very least. Sumamry

Ever since Mairu and Artemis built those cloaks together, they had been on good terms. The little dragon quite often took the role of teacher, building her friend's confidence in sign language and helping him expand his vocabulary in the many hours they spent together. Unfortunately for the two, Mairu wasn't fluent enough to read his friend's frantic signing, although in this case the very obvious question posed by Artie reaching up conveyed her desire. 'Calm down, don't rush' the orphan reminded herself as she took a steadying breath. However instead of putting the little dragon on his shoulder instantly, Mairu decided to hold onto her and give another speech. Artemis huffed a bit in annoyance, but remained placid in her friends arms. The true battle hadn't really begun yet, and they were still relatively safe. The fox's speech was a small one and Artemis was soon transferred to a more preferred perch. The creature adopted it's position, claws clutched to the clothing and shoulders of her friend so that she wouldn't be unseated. It was good that the orphan made sure she was firmly seated on top of Mairu's shoulder, because she certainly wasn't expecting her friend to be able to travel so fast. The fastest the little dragon had traveled would probably be when Feraocity had helped her with her flying practice by throwing her up into the air. The speed that Artemis's friend reached, however, was much faster than that. In no time the two were beside the main group of people, namely Alana, who she was very happy to see. Artemis peeped a happy hello at seeing the artist. She liked Alana, most likely due to the fact that the elder woman let the little dragon use her paint supplies. In turn, Artie did her best to be as clean as possible when using them, directing all of the mess to herself and whatever she was directly painting on. This might have resulted in the orphan being a little bit biased, but she took the side of Ignacia when it came to justifying why the children were on the battlefield. They may be young, or small, or both, but none of them wanted to sit through as their friends died around them, helpless to do anything. They had been through all of that before, so when they were given a chance to help protect their home of course they all jumped at it. The little dragon was ready to defend her home and her friends when one of the little ducks that seemed to be scattered around the battlefield popped up to alter the two that they should block their ears. Artemis paused for a bit, confused, and wondered where such a critter came from. Then panic started to set in as she realized that any warning such as this would probably be best followed, and followed instantly. Without really thinking of her own ears, Artie launched herself from her perch to the short distance to Mairu's head, landing with a soft thwump. She clamped her forwards down on one of Mairu's ears, and used her hind paws to do the same on the other. Luckily for Artie, Mairu seemed to be of the same mind. His tails flicked over and block what the little dragon had for ears. The two protected each other during a quackageddon. The girl watched with slight amazement, wonder, and partial amusement as everyone and everything in front of them was covered in rainbows. 'It's kind of like my spit! I wonder if we have similar glands?' Artemis wondered as she relaxed and moved back to Mairu's shoulder once the deafening sound had died down. She shook her head and refocused. If they all survived, then there'd be plenty of time to quiz the quizzical duck later. Artemis settled herself back down and tapped her friend on the shoulder, getting his attention. "My spit is really cold and it can hurt. If you get me close enough, I can hit who you want me to. But it's gotta be close" She signed to Mairu, making sure to move slowly and make the words defined so that the other could follow. With her message conveyed, the black dragon once again gripped onto the clothing underneath her so that her seat would be steady once the pair moved on. The glands in her mouth activated and the little dragon gathered up enough cold spit to damage someone. When the two would get close to their target, Artemis would gather herself and fire it off at them, aiming for the eyes. summary

While Mairu would have enjoyed exchanging a few more pleasantries with Alana, the yellow fox knew that there wasn't exactly time to become the best of friends, that there was a bigger mission to focus on. Artemis' presence was a definite help in keeping the boy together, having bonded with the girl over their small hangouts and sign language lessons, so having his stakes in the fight with him there physically reminded the fox boy not to slip up. Seeing Alana interact with the old lady, and none too kindly, Mairu realized that his plea hadn't worked as he'd hoped. No, she was still in this fight, they all were... He couldn't do anything to help it seemed... No, wait Alana was talking! She had faith in the duo to disrupt any invaders they could, something the kitsune felt he was at the very least capable of doing. With his speed and his voice... well, a technique he wasn't fully comfortable using given its results last time... he could do some real damage to at least one person on the other team... But who? Pondering this, a flash of Bedlam occurred as attacks of the deadly variety went off all around. It was a mish-mash of flares, explosions, yelling, beams of light, a giant even off in the distance. In a span of less than a second the war had gone up several levels and then some, before dying back down into some semblance of sense. And there, from the smoke and the ash, stood Mercutio, having seemingly gone through the ringer like never before. Mairu was equal parts afraid and filled with adrenaline, knowing that with their leader there now, the other side might get even more desperate... especially with how he was laying into them. There was little time to concentrate on the speech itself, however, as Mairu saw each and every person from Elysian move to cover their ears, feeling small paws close off his sensitive receptors, Artemis apparently looking out for him. Returning the favor, the boy moved his tails to block both sides of the small dragon's ears, a muffled rumble shaking his body as he saw a large duck vomit up a stream of rainbows. Elysium really never did have a boring day it seemed. Saddened to see the owl of light facing attacks, the boy had his attention nabbed by Artemis, the girl using her sign to explain that her spit could be used as a weapon in this fight, the language lessons having paid off a great deal it seemed as the boy was able to follow along without any real worry. It seemed he was back to square one though, needing to pick out a target... Yeah, the big scary guy who looked like he didn't afraid of anything. While the boy doubted he could take him alone, he was sure that with everyone's help, they could rattle this guy's bones. With a nod, choosing to forego attempts at practicing his sign at that time and letting Artemis reposition herself, the boy declared, "The big bone guy. I'm gonna run as near as I can, go for it when you think you've got a shot... Also, sorry, but you're gonna need to cover your ears again..." The boy added this at the end, using his tails to cover the dragon's head once more, wanting her to keep her limbs available for grabbing on. Off like a bolt, the kitsune readied an attack for Tapu, hoping that the onslaught from both the duck, dragon and himself would be enough to fell the invader. Once he was fifteen meters out, the boy let loose a piercing howl that shattered the night air and, at least he hoped, would rattle the eardrums of Tapu, even pressing his cry further to try and increase difficulties for the stranger next to the bone man and the giant owl. She seemed a sweet soul, but she was still trying to hurt his home and friends, and she'd done about the same earlier... still, he didn't like hurting old people... Pressing that out of his mind, the boy continued his run, jetting by Tapu and hoping that Artemis would have a clear shot, being mindful of any attacks he might try and was ready to jump back. From there, attack succesful or not, the fox boy would run circles around Tapu. With it being hard to see any of the man's attacks at this speed, especially while focusing his howl, he aimed to play things safe for both himself and his dragon friend. Verified Magical Girl
|
The sonic attack that sounded like a duck's quacking thankfully didn't hit her from her spot behind Tapu, her Mage Armor almost shattered like sugar glass against the sonic attack, she could feel it tingling ever so slightly, one clean direct hit was what all it would take to remove it. Vivi clapped her hands over her ears as even though she wasn't hit, the sound was enough to deafen her. All she could hear now was a high pitched ringing that was nauseating to her. It subsided soon enough though her hearing was still a bit shot, everything sounded muffled to her and she was still hearing a low ringing echoing in her head. She shook it off and bounced lightly on the balls of her feet Vivi was getting ready to perform her attack, a high jump into the air and a diving punch right into the firestarter's eyes. She hoped that it would be able to hit and that such a blow would be enough to take away the girl's vision, even for a few moments. It was an attack that was going to draw a lot of attention to herself, and it was likely that it wouldn't even work, she wasn't expecting to get out of this situation alive. But just as she was getting ready to jump, a second before she could fully commit to an action she saw something that stopped her in her tracks. "Guys..." She breathed out a she watched the thing she least wanted to see in this situation. What she did not see was Abyssal coming to their aid after dealing with Mercutio The Crimson Fucker. Instead of the beacon of hope in this dire time it was Mercutio himself. "I think Abyssal's down." Vivi could only guess what terrible things must've happened, what epic battle must've occurred, in order for Mercutio to come out the victor in their Skirmish. She stood enraptured as she listened to what the Crimson Fucker.,.no...what the Crimson King had to say. Was she wrong to have joined up with Vitality, to be conscripted for this fight? Was she wrong to have chosen the side of heroes? Here they were, the head of this operation probably downed, against overwhelming odds, against this man and his children that would follow him to the depths of hell and back. She looked to their opponents, peering around Tapu. She no longer saw a the residents of an island full of orphans, no, they weren't that, they probably haven't been that in a long time. Instead she saw a large supportive family fighting for each other. They weren't on Elysium, the home of Mercutio. They were on Elysium, a place that welcomed these orphans and nurtured their dreams. They've made it clear that this was their home...and clearly Vitality and their conscripts were trespassing. 'Run away.' She knew that she was probably doomed, that this was probably where she'll fall. 'I have to run away.' She couldn't just leave the people she came here with. They were in the same boat as she was, it wouldn't be right for her to leave them behind, to desert them when everyone man here could make a difference. 'RUN AWAY AND LIVE DAMMIT!' She couldn't move her feet to retreat, she couldn't make a break for the jet or the ocean for a swift retreat. She glances around, taking another look at her comrades and steels herself. Then she got an idea. It was less running away and more of a tactical retreat on her part. "I'll be right back." Vivi tells Tapu before legging it back to the jet with as much speed as she could muster. She hadn't done a thing for this fight yet so she should be safe to run for the jet. She made a running leap into the jet's open doorway, diving through the opened doorway. "Oi, who the fuck are you?" She questioned the stranger that was fiddling with the buttons of the jet. "Stop touching things! I'm looking for something" The cutely dressed magical girl snapped at him and attempted to swat his hands away from the controls only for her to use her own, in search of something specific. Then something buzzed to life when she pressed a red square button. Her face lit up with hope as she grabbed the communicator attached to a panel on the cockpit. She fiddles with the a few more buttons until she's content with how the communicator is set up. "Mayday mayday! This is Vivi, one of Vitality's conscripts! Some of us got split up and I think Abyssal may be down! Mercutio looks a bit hurt but he looks to still be able to fight! Is anyone here that might be able to help us?" She broadcasts her plea for help to an open channel and hopes for the best. Summary

The fight would be over sooner than he expected. The way the chain moved after being struck by Arawn's attack, and the peculiar way it shifted when Nala whipped away the former weapon made it clear to both Arawn and Crawford that the wielder was still unfortunately attached to the end of the long chain. Sand was kicked up upon the impact of the invisible Hero, making his placement among the enemy ranks rather obvious. Meanwhile, the chain was lost from his grasp, ending up in the clutches of Demetri's monster. Ultimately, the opposition's attacks yielded nothing, and all the cards were in the hands of the Elysian forces. Lady Luck smiled upon them, it seemed. "The quality of Heroics has certainly fallen..." Crawford muttered to himself, before once again acknowledging the strange young woman beside him. Though first, a hushed whisper fell upon his ears, commanding him to cover his ears. He didn't exactly comply, instead opting to place his hands over Arawn's ears. Better his dearest friend is protected than him. Unsure what devastation might come, the warden remained on guard, presuming some form of artillery strike might be being aimed at the grouped opposition. His focus was only broken by a sudden brush of fingers against his scarred face, followed by the words of the woman that made clear their similarities. It was evident that both were scarred, and although Crawford's were far worse externally, he didn't dare make assumptions about any lingering wounds that remained unseen on the outside. He simply nodded to Lyra, offering a brief reply. "Of course our paths are different, our pasts are our own. Yet, it is also up to us alone to decide what these scars mean now." It was then that the scarred young woman provided her own more physical aid, as paper ran up Crawford's face to shield his ears from the coming cacophony. He too had never truly grown comfortable with all the touch-feely stuff, so only nodded firmly to acknowledge his gratitude. They were both prepared for the blowback of the attack that would seal the fates of the Vitality mercenaries, as was Arawn. William set his gaze upon the opposition, noting the ones to avoid for now - mainly the brightly glowing owl - before bracing for the unknown attack they'd be unleashing on the unfortunate wannabe heroes. He hadn't known what to expect. But, definitely not what actually came. It was a quack, one that carried supersonic force behind it, and rattled the Warden's old bones with the vibrations behind it. As his eyes darted to try and find the source, the secondary effect of the offensive was made clear. Each wave of sound carried with it a coating of color, leaving everyone in its path covered in rainbow mess. Including, very fortunately, the previously invisible Vitality member who'd been skulking around in the shadows, and would now be quite literally a painted target for anyone who decided to dispatch the stealthy striker before he could escape. Crawford wasted no time. While other made their speeches, mostly to respond to the prolific energy owl, Crawford gestured coldly to the stunned Chameleon, his shadow monster following the path with its 6 keen eyes. "Arawn, grant him... absolution." The Warden uttered under his breath, commanding his bird with finality. The shadowy monster follow the order immediately, taking flight from Crawford's shoulder and shooting toward Chameleon's chest, it's dark mass becoming a black bullet as the burd spun its body, shooting across the battlefield and weaving around whatever impeded its path as it attempted to pierce right into the unfortunate Vitality members' chest. Between William's attack, the disorganization of the Vitality ranks, the crushing of one member, and the arrival of Mercutio Regalis... It was beginning to seem like Crawford would be back in Washington D.C. in no time at all. Summary Technique, Stats, LP

Tapu's march forward continued as he continued his methodical pace towards the mass of children and their carers, or captors. Either way he didn't care. What he knew was that they had assembled against a threat, and he was part of that threat, so he would do what needed to be done. The flames continued to lick at him without doing any serious damage, and as he got closer he was able to see the people beyond the torrent in better detail as they moved around. It seemed that they indeed intended to all fight, as he didn't see anyone willing to leave which was a shame. A couple of things happened very quickly as he got a bit closer. Manaia swooped in at high speed in her familiar energy form, apparently aiming to protect the rest of them against the fire. He didn't turn or look at her at all other than out the corner of his eye, trusting her to do what was necessary despite not always agreeing with her. The other was a pair of the children stepping forward, one of them extending their arm before detonating an explosion towards him. He prepared to block it, but that turned out to be unnecessary as one of his team mates came forward, wreathed in smoke and taking the blow meant for him. The man whose arm he had briefly borrowed also came forward, shouting a challenge to them. The gecko man from among Mercutio's allies came along and attempted to throw something at him that he was unable to really see properly. As he stepped on it, partly accidentally, it attempted to latch on and resist his movement, but he casually tore free from it's weak hold. Thus far he wasn't exactly impressed with what they had been able to show in resistance, and wondered if his benefactor had simply been overestimating them. Other than their leader, who was the only one he had seen with monstrous power, potentially enough that he would be able to take down Oni himself. The last member of their merry band caught up to him as well, grabbing onto his back and telling him she had a plan. While he didn't like the idea of being relegated to a springboard, he was ready to comply if it would increase their odds of victory any. At least, he would have, if Chameleon hadn't crash landed in the middle of the two sides after apparently failing to wrangle the hulking beast to one side of the field Taking advantage of their grouped up nature a duck flew forwards, and did an odd motion in front of the flamethrower girl. While he didn't know exactly what was coming, he could see some of the enemy reach up to cover their ears as the birds cheeks puffed out almost comicly. Figuring they knew what was coming and themselves were preparing for it, he acted himself. The insides of his ear canals morphed shut, as his external ears vanished from view. Complete silence engulfed him, but he was thankful for it as the blast was sent towards them and his body rocked back from the force. His suit and mask were both covered in some kind of rainbow goop, and trying to keep his visibility he tore off the mask. Even through all of this he could feel the energy radiating from where Mercutio and Abyssal were ostensibly clashing, like two titans of the old world. Another flamethrower was created, but not at him this time so it was none of his concern. If whoever had to deal with it was unable to they shouldn't have come along anyway. A strange fox boy came around and it looked like he was either screaming or howling, but with his ears still blocked it was impossible to tell. As he saw the victor of the main event coming towards them he was surprised that the Crimson Fucker was the one who had come, not his own commander. While he looked in worse shape than before they had fought, the simple fact that he was able to come spoke volumes about what had happened. The man began to speak, and when Tapu knew it was safe he returned his ears, coming in halfway through the speech. He was making the same point he had before, about how he was going to protect all of his people and that he had done nothing wrong, or something along those lines. He seemed to believe that he should just be left alone despite what he had done, and a fire of anger started to burn in Tapu's stomach. He was briefly distracted by Vivi talking to him once more, this time to say she would be back before bolting off for some reason. Whatever it was he realised that it could be their last chance, and he resolved himself to making his stand. Stepping forwards he called out to Mercutio, raising his voice for all to hear. "You talk well, but your words are empty. I may not know your exact reasoning, but the people you swear to protect are your very legacy of evil, the product of lives taken that cannot be given back. You say you will protect them, that they follow you of their own will, but you are the one who made that choice for them when you murdered their parents and stole them from the world they deserve! You need to die, right here, or whatever goodness these children still have will be forever snuffed out." As he started to finish speaking he began to let out the full extent of his power, knowing that holding back in any way would get him killed right here. He grew, rainbow coloured suit stretching and then breaking as he exceeded it's limit. In it's place his body began to shift into something that didn't look entirely human. His face warped into a fanged snarl, eyes slanting and nose flattening. Two horns sprouted from his skull, curving upwards and towards his back. His body grew to resemble something similar to the suit he had been wearing, but more organic looking, plates of bone separated from each other as the surface cracked and regrew again and again. Claws emerged, feet turned to talons, and he could feel his strength growing the entire time. Finished he looked back to Mercutio. When he spoke again, his voice was deeper and reached across all gathered there effortlessly. "I will stop you here, or die trying!" With that he kicked off, quickly forming a mass of bone beneath his feet before detaching it and jumping off, shattering the hasty platform and heading towards him as the man floated above them all as he tried to show he was literally above the rest of them. Letting his rage flow he roared as he sailed through the air. At first the aura surrounding the man made him appear hazy, making it tough to tell where exactly he was and his movements, but still he tried to see through it, using his single minded focus. Focusing his power towards both of his arms he sprouted a blade in each of his hands, each one 2 meters long and razor sharp, resembling wicked cleavers more than traditional blades. Getting within range he swung the first towards Mercutio, attempting to bisect the murderer through his waist, while he moved the other to be able to hopefully block any counter attack. This was one of the most important fights of his entire life, he wasn't going to lose to a simple mistake to a man like this. He would prove his strength, prove that he was able to protect anyone. To protect everyone. He wouldn't lose a single person to his own lack of power, not again. Everything he had was being put on the line in this one moment. Summary

Fell God of Waffles
|
Eizen listened intently to what Alana had to say to him, and while her answer left much to be desired, her smile worked surprisingly well in relieving some of the anxiety that had built up in the pit of his stomach. Do whatever he saw fit to defend his home... All he knew was supporting others, really. It had all he'd been able to do with his old quirk, so maybe slipping into a supportive role for the others would be a good thing to stick to. If Overhaul thought that was a bad idea, he said nothing, though before Eizen could do anything, he found a duck of all things near him. When had it- Cover your ears. Eizen had seen his fair share of strange things. Strange monsters of science, a man returned from the dead, stuff like that... and now he could add a talking duck to his list. Seeing that Alana had done the same thing, placing his hands tightly over his ears. He was confused as to why he had been instructed to do so, but the answer presented itself soon enough in the form of what Eizen could only describe as an incredibly loud quack. The others would move into action after this, with Eizen staying just a bit behind Alana. He'd watch her launch more fire from that staff of hers, though he couldn't see what she was aiming at when explosions started going off, signaling the presence of Mercutio. Eizen didn't know what to think of him being here... and right now wasn't the time to wonder about it. The man's words flowed through the air, but Eizen kept his eyes forward, keeping an eye on everybody that would possibly approach. If any of them came to close, he'd do his best to ensure they didn't stay close for long. Summary

As Mort stood above everyone, he could see things a bit better then most. All of the orphans kept saying to leave, and even when the flames came Mania had come to block them as he expected. But as he was in the air it was clear that everything was about to go to hell. The next person to attack was that familiar duck who, upon getting close, Mort would put up a barrier of air as he defended himself from the sonic quack. even with his solid air he could feel it's ringing messing with his head and giving him a headache. Yet he couldn't give up hope that they'd lose. As he held up the barrier, the blue shard in his pocket would glow as his head started to clear up. Removing the outermost layer of the shield to get rid of the rainbow of colors the duck left, he'd get a short respite before seeing another pillar of flame come at him like before, but unlike the previous time, he had no idea whether or not his allies could block this time, so he'd reinforce his barrier to take the hit, the flames licking at the sphere. When the flame would subside though, he'd be greeted by a sight he prayed wouldn't happen, yet it did. Mercutio was here. "No..." Mort would exhale as he watched the man deliver his speech. If Mercutio was here that meant he beat Abyssal, and in such a quick time at that...then the fight had already been over before it really began. As he listened to the Crimson King, he could feel his will to fight already failing. Abyssal was their only real shot to win, and since he wasn't strong enough to face Lucy yet... Abyssal lost. Mercutio won. Crawford and that duck were allied with Mercutio. An impeding villain stonger then any that had been fought before. WISH being corrupted. The mysterious being called Oni. So many emotions and questions surrounding each, yet he had no way to vocalize it. He could feel his world shattering apart right here and now. His barrier and illusions would drop as he fell to the ground, his impact lessened by the sand. He was hyperventilating badly. "I...I can't do this in good conscience anymore. If this is what a hero is; then I don't deserve to be called one. Heroes protect the weak and fight for justice, not...this." He'd try to hold himself together, but the foundation that kept his facade of strength had been destroyed at the base, with next to nothing remaining. He had failed. He wouldn't see Tapu attack or his teammate go to the jet as he tried to get his breathing under control. Summary/Techs&LP

From under the rubble of the earth, a strange liquid stirred. Slowly rising up and reforming amid the chaos, a short girl made of stone finally emerged from her underground spot. It had not been her intent to miss out on so much of the festivities, especially not out of cowardice or fear. The separation of the groups and shifting of the earth below her had… made things a bit difficult for the being comprised of earth. None the less, her arrival was tardy, but none the less enthusiastic. Brushing the dirt off of her dress, she freed herself from the earthen hole she had been stuck in, climbing out of the crevice in the ground and stretching as she surveyed the battle. “Oh… this doesn’t look so bad, maybe I wasn’t needed after all… OH WELL” she shrugged as she skipped off to face the first combatant she encountered. What she found was a rather broken bald kid hyperventilating and curled up on the sand. Her playful jog slowed to a cautious pace as she looked the strange guy over. “Whoa… he’s seen better days” Whoever he was, he wasn’t with the other residents of the island. He was one of the outsiders, one of the strangers who were here to tear her home apart. Yet he didn’t seem like he was some great threat, they way he just collapsed and freaked out. It was like he had never seen real combat, had never experienced his world shatter and fall apart. She forgot that the world was full of softness, had people naive to the horrors that lurked in the shadows… this poor pathetic kid. This mentality of hers was only reinforced by the company she had shared for the last nine months, only orphans and widened individuals. Approaching slowly, she stood over the defeated boy, pondering what do do next. They had attacked her home, destroyed their hospital, threatened their very way of life… yet their conviction proved weak when met with opposition. With a sigh, she decided to extend some kindness to the boy, luckily she had learned from the best! She remembered the kindness Leroy had shown her first foe on this island, stopping Leve’s pain. With arms outstretched she approached the bald boy, offering him a simple hug. The sand softening beneath their feet as she absorbed it into herself. |

Demetri’s control over the tarrasque proved to be better than he had anticipated. Nala chomped down onto the metal chains that had been launched towards her face and whipped her neck, sending whoever was on the other end into the air. Being so high up, it was difficult for Demetri to focus on little interactions going on below him and Nala. An extremely bright flash of light emitted from one of the invaders, but it seemed everyone over here had the situation under control. The boy looked over to the solid casing of molten rock that held Mercutio and Abyssal. He couldn’t begin to comprehend the fight that would be going on in there. Demetri has never seen someone who was able to go toe to toe with Mercutio. Would this be the first? Then, the barrier was broken and a body thrown out of it… Mercutio would rise from the rubble and fly towards Demetri and the other Elysians, declaring his victory over the invaders’ apparent leader. His speech angered the blonde. “We chose this?” He repeated to himself with a disgusted face. As the Crimson King went on about how they were all family to him and rose to the occasion because this was their home. “My dream?” A child’s way of describing a goal in the teen’s eyes. Demetri’s ‘dream’ was to avenge his sister. Was Mercutio going to give him that? No, it was something he was going to have to take with his own hands. Despite growing used to holding back his anger, he couldn’t help but show the rage in his eyes, though not because of Mercutio’s words, because of his own weakness. It felt as if the road to the King's level had grown a thousand folds. Bringing his focus back to Nala, Demetri continued to upkeep his pheromones, attempting to keep her in place until they could act safely. With everyone bunched up like this, there was no way to intervene without taking out an ‘ally’. Losing control of the tarrasque would not be ideal right now. Summary |

There was a lot going at once, and it was a miracle she was able to keep up with almost all of it. Of course, wanting to converse energy she dropped out of her Cosmic Owl form with a small flash of light. Standing on her own two feet, she was ready for anything, asides from the invisible man unceremoniously tossed onto the ground right before her. She ignored his comments for now, easily able to see him clearly with her thermal vision. Of course, right now she had attacks to dodge. Just because she wasn't trying to harm them directly didn't mean they wouldn't hurt her. People covered their ears all of a sudden, and so she could only assume some kind of sonic attack was going to come from somewhere. Unfortunately, she got hit with the sonic quack attack and got covered in a strange goopy color. Unable to see color variation, it all looked like one big mess of blue to her. Manaia's head did feel a quite a bit fuzzy, ears ringing for quite a while. She was just about to react to the strange hooded figure, but he feinted around her just as paper was being thrown at her. Unfortunately, the words of the girl who threw the paper were blocked out by the intense ringing, but she easily saw the paper being thrown before anything else and immediately dashed backward as best she could to avoid the attack. This was a dangerous place to be unaware of people's quirks. One wrong move could mean death, and she wasn't going to sit still. The ringing in her ears cleared up, but the associated dizziness didn't fade, however. That was when all of a sudden, Mercutio himself appeared. That meant one thing, and one thing only. Abyssal was dead. Or at least, mostly dead. His words felt like needles digging into her heart, slowly pushing them in deeper and deeper. She'd respond but now was not the time. Action was still happening, and she needed to focus badly. At least survive until she had the chance to respond, as well as keeping everyone else alive. So many people were trying to talk to her, to get her attention. To distract her. Maybe they meant well, but she couldn't devote each and every person her attention. Something about this being an invasion? Of course, it was. This island was supposed to be only filled with violent crooks, and that's it. Why did Abyssal not feel partial to share this information? Would have been beyond useful to know, definitely. Hell, she wouldn't have come with even a remote intent to kill. Now her motivation was already beyond fading, barely existing. Even now, the small fox child from before was running towards her and her allies, quite fast at that. Without a doubt, she refused to harm him, but neither would she sit there and let someone harm her. Without even knowing the attack, she kicked off the sandy ground of the beach and ran far to the side of the group as he let out another sonic attack. She was beyond lucky the majority of them seemed to be quite slow in comparison to her. If someone could match her speed and attacked her directly, that would be the end of it. "Hell..." Manaia whispered under her breath as she took a glance back at her forces. Everyone but Tapu was either heading back to the jet or no longer fighting. To be fair, she didn't blame them. They were young, likely inexperienced in the art of true combat. That seemed to be one advantage that the kids here on the island had... Combat experience was useful. On the other hand, Tapu was risking his very life in an attack against the Crimson Fucker himself as Manaia saw an attack quickly flying towards the still downed Chameleon. It seemed like some strange, shadowy beast. This, she could handle. Or so she told herself. Her confidence had been falling quickly every since half of her team left combat and Merc himself showed up. Even still, Manaia's run kicked up sand across the beach as she ran as fast as she possibly could. Her invisible teammate was down and his position was clearly compromised. "Stay the fuck down." She would quickly yell towards Chameleon as her eyes glowed brightly. Large, extremely bright lasers suddenly fired from her eye sockets. The field around her lasers directly lit up with a bright blue coloration. With any luck, her lasers would strike whatever that shadowy mass is heading towards her downed teammate. Regardless of whether or not her lasers had protected Chameleon or not, she would shout over towards Mercutio himself. "Enough death! Call off your men. If Abyssal is dead, then that is that. I will make sure your message is heard, personally if I need to." Her fists clenched at her sides, anger slowly filling her heart as she remembered the words he mentioned about her family. How distasteful. She stood her ground, in spite of the near non-existent faith she had in Tapu even harming Mercutio. Her eyes locked onto his all the way across the battlefield, she spoke once more. "You have shown your strength both in combat, and leadership. Both traits Abyssal seems to have failed. Your men are capable and well prepared. Much better than I can say for any group I have ever fought with before." A long sigh escaped her mouth, genuinely upset at the fact. Every leader that she ended up following seemed to be both low in morals and actual combat ability. "I say this, in agreement with you Sir. These children and men follow you because of what you can do and what you can promise, to which I can see why without a shadow of a doubt. Your family is important to you, as is mine..." "I was recruited to join the ranks of Vitality only recently. I joined for one reason only. I have an enemy of my own that I wish to pursue, and it is only by combat that I can grow strong enough. I still do not pretend to know your crimes, but I am not scared of you. If I leave and inform WISH and those in charge, it will be with a level head and determination in my words." Manaia raised her chin as she finished speaking. "The God who I thought would kill Oni for me, Abyssal, is dead. It is time to become one myself. You have taught me a lesson today. I can trust no one to lead me, except myself." Summary LP, Stats, Techniques & EP's

Nala's Reaction Having recovered from the stun, Chameleon still couldn't slip out of sight before a massive white duck quacked a mass of rainbow gunk in their direction. He cursed as he recoiled from the deafening sound, shaking his head rapidly and finally realizing that... he had been covered in the clingy goo-like substance from the quack. He was completely visible. After a quick attempt to try and wipe off some of the unknown substance to no avail, he let a sigh whistle through his mask before getting to his feet, only to be greeted by a shadowy mass rushing right for him. The owl operative's command for him to get down was heeded, and the previously invisible man ducked in time to see some energy rush above his head towards the approaching shadow. The introduction of light seemed to diminish the attack and set it off-course. But even so, the sting of the attack caught his arm as he was trying to put himself out of its way. Chameleon's suit was ripped at the place where the bird struck, and his arm suffered a deep gash, making for quite the interesting combination through the rainbow mess that covered him. Before he knew it, Vitality's operatives were backing down and out of the fight when the Crimson Fucker revealed himself. 'I always told her... that god-like arrogance she had would be her downfall...' Chameleon thought to himself as the realization sunk in that his leader had been defeated. Typical. He had no idea of what had happened in the other section of the battlefield, and could only guess that things were going in Adrestia's favour, else Mercutio wouldn't have arrived here instead. One of the operatives seemed intent on continuing this crazy battle, and Chameleon did his best to slip away behind the owl mother and try to get out of everybody's focus... although, it was difficult considering that he was currently a weird, almost shapeless blob of rainbow goo right now. Various sounds of static broke through the jet's communication device as a distress signal was sent out, but with all of Derge's incessant button -pressing, he had effectively shut off the headset with its microphone for communicating. "Do you read, over?" Radio towers started responding to the initial communication attempt, but heard nothing by way of what had happened. Unless the microphones were connected back to the headsets, no word would reach the outside world any time soon. |

"It's been nearly nine years, Crimson Fucker... ah, how you are so aptly named." Tsukiko thought to herself as she stared at the picture of her Brother and her back in the good old days. "It's been 5 years since he took you away, Baby Brother." pressing the picture to her chest as clouds drifted by outside. Silently weeping, she tucked her prized possession away. Driven to Heroics by the death of their parents, Tsukiko found herself pushed into vigilantism by Mercutio... but now, now she was a Hero Killer. ![]() Once upon a time, Tsukiko was the proud star of a Hero Duo, the pride of Japan and WISH sponsored, they were magnificent together until the day they meet the man whom calls himself, King. Ever since that day her reputation has declined, her Brother's life has been taken and the world she thought she knew shattered to pieces, but it was WISH who really ruined her world. It was hard enough having Mercutio skirt by under the radar, but it was another to see him come into the limelight as he did after what he did. Tsukiko was disgusted by WISH's backing of him and rejection of her... the very thought and fact it happened was reason enough to kill herself. She has had everything taken from her, but when everything is taken, something always fills the void and for her it was vengeance. She would seek it till the end or die trying. Now, after becoming a Hero Killer, who kills only WISH licence Heroes, has been 'reactivated' by WISH to give her a chance to kill the man who took it all from her long ago... and that was made her the most violently ill of all. The corruption she saw in WISH was the very reason she became a Hero Killer to begin with, but she would use them as her tool to see her goal to the end; one last fight with Mercutio. ![]() In the years since her Brother's death, after announcing her Hero Killer ideology, people began to flock to her. She held a grand group of 50 people strong and all bound by her new ideology. She grew stronger, expanding her quirks abilities and pushing her body, attempting force mutation to evolve her quirk... and the results varied. With a stone gaze she stared as the doors opened and told the group behind her that when she jumped, they would too. The men and women nodded and Tsukiko turned to scan the ocean and got a glimpse of a familiar energy. She prepared her self to jump as the carrier swooped low to drop everyone off, but refused to slow speeds. "If you are too weak to survive this jump or to fearful to jump, you'll die to the Crimson Fucker. You are better off to me dead at that point, so don't let me see your face." she said, and jumped. Tsukiko hit the ground as a wave of dark-purple touched the walls around them for the most part, but the wall barricading the fighting Yonko's of Adrestia remained. "WISH sent me." the woman growled as a purple, void like aura radiated around her. She ignored the few men and women who crashed to death, dying on impact as around 30 of her 50 made it from the plan. Tsuki took time to stare, but her minions scattered and chased after those whom they weren't already aware of, being Vitality. They all carried melee weapons, their quirks appearing beyond useless. "Remember me, Fucker?" she smiled before walking into the air herself in a similar fashion that Mercutio did long ago. "Remember this?" she laughed. "I realized what my quirk was made to do... now, you di- you are dumb, that won't work, kid." she went on before squinting confused at Tapu. "Get out of my way, Amateurs." The Never Sleeping Vampire Duck

SUCCESS! Chameleon is fucked. Nice. Crawford is badass with his earmuffs, and the whole world is having a field day. Shirou had himself settled in the back of the front not wanting to put himself out too much. He had flown to Leroy's side before, and has since been sitting in the sand like a lump of white marshmellow goop. Leroy's honks had been nice to hear; homey and sweet! They weren't annoying like most would probably think, and instead Shirou replied with a few jovial quacks. This wasn't the time to be actively chatting, so he merely nodded firmly at the pink blob of a bird when he greeted. Watching the field like a hawk was a skill Shirou had picked up over the last few years of constant outmatched fights. He knew what it was like to go toe to toe with a disgustingly overpowered beast of a being. Mairu was a boy and he was doing his damndest to tackle Tapu with howling barks, and this specific scene reminded him of the bizarre fight with Kull, or the Sports Festival he was in a year earlier. Clicking his tonge to the tip of his bill, his eye twitched at the sight of Tapu taking off like a dog on roids. His direction was so quick and out of this world that Shirou almost couldn't keep up. As Tapu was heading off the voice of Mania carried throughout the field, but the bird paid her no mind. Well, he did, but he wasn't bothering to spend the time to look at her as she announced her wishes. This was a fight, not a debut. Still, she was an arrogant women, but boldness was respectable. Wings snapped out causing a surge of sand to puff up in the air. Shirou took off to the skies where he felt most comfortable. If Tapu thought he could charge Mercutio without anyone interfering then he was sorely mistaken. There were only a select few who could reach these heights currently on hand, and Shirou, although he isn't technically a member of Elysium or Adrestia, was one of those people. Thoughts ran through his head as he climbed through the air beating his wings and catching speed one swoosh at a time. Tapu had a lot of guts to go head to head with Mercutio, but Shirou aimed to catch him off guard before he could reach the man. SWOOSH! Without warning, Shirou would fly in from Mercutio and Tapu's left, his cheeks puffed and his aim being at an angle downward toward Tapu as to not get Mercutio in the quack-zone. This was only his second quack, but he could feel himself being at the butt end of this attack. Being in the air the way that he is, Shirou swiped out a seven foot wing like an umbrella! In doing this, the soundwaves shouldn't travel as harshly to Mercutio. This was a tight, tight spot. Shirou was so small, but the sky was his domain. Without a second to delay, the plump fowl let out a sonic quack at point blank of Tapu. QUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK! Unlike the last sonic quack, Shirou had shortened the actual duration of it. Rather than holding it for several seconds he shot off a sharp, shrill quack directly onto Tapu. However, in doing this, Shirou would find himself being launched like a potato in a rocket launched in the opposite direction! He was nowhere near ready to properly handle his own blowback! Having expected this, Shirou's eyes swirled and he flopped through the air at a speed that he couldn't keep up with. What... was... NEGATIVE?! As he was blasting through the air like a bowling ball, Shirou eyed the insanity of bodies dropping down and the horrific aura of purple that oozed in the air. They were reinforcements... were they? His eyes widened as he shot Mercutio a sharp gasp. Another long time enemy?! Guess movies did have one thing write... Those in the buisness of fame often had enemies far and wide. He clamped his bill shut knowing he would only get in the Crimson King's way had he stayed any longer. Not that he could, anyway, the fowl had no control over his own blast back. He would find himself trying to catch his breath as he lifted his wings stretching them back out. He was high in the air, much higher than before, but he couldn't bring himself to properly fly. He was tired, exhausted, and needed a rest desperately. Faint streams of color trailed from his bill, the pouches on his cheek a bit swollen from the soundwaves that had escaped seconds before. Flop, plop, plorp. The blast back had thrown this oddball duck so far out that he was now gliding to the nearest place to land; a giant... monster. Terrifying as it was, Shirou wasn't exactly afraid of Nala. She was supposed to be on his (their) side. Tired eyes watched the scene before him in wonder as he landed in a messy roll onto the giant beasts back. There were ducks everywhere. Seven of his ducks were currently waddling around a stranger Shirou hadn't seen before on the field far, far below. His eyes squinted in confusion at the strange kid. What in tarnation... Too tired to care, Shirou dropped his head and lay with his wings spread out on the rocky back of Nala, his eyes droopy and dull. The sheer blowback was more daunting than he had expected! It was the first time he'd ever used such an attack mid-air, and he's since learned that... well, he needs to work on that. Big time. quack quack |
