Honk.
It immediately dawned upon the goose what Alana had meant when she said she’d “handle it herself.” After uttering a few rapid”dag gummit”’s in panic, the ghostly goose would dip into the ground and race off towards the other battlefield. He had no intentions on letting the flaming loli fight that group by herself, no matter how she may feel. As he strolled up onto the scene, he would spy both an icy wall and the pleas of his fellow Adrestians. They spoke of mercy, surrender, and kindness.

Well if anyone was going to be showing kindness on the battlefield, it would surely be a living entity of the emotion. He’d begin making his way over towards the Vitality members, caring little for neither the spikes nor icy wall. It was ridiculously hard to keep out a goosely ghost, especially when it could simply go underneath the wall. As soon as the merciful medic popped up on the other side of the wall, Leroy would begin waving his hands and honking out his pure intentions.

”Hold yer fire, hold yer fire! I’m the island’s doctor, and I ain’t got too much dog in this here fight. I’ve been healin’ ‘Lysium and WISH folk just the same, you can check back over that wall. Big Red did a number on ‘er, and she ain’t gonna make it without uh-mediate attention, ‘speciallywith yuh grabbin’ ‘er like that. Grabbin’ someone with them sort uh injuries, yer just killin’ ‘er that way. There’s been too many folks dyin’ today, and we don’t need this here hero dyin’ neither.

The claims of neutrality would be heavily supported by his lack of Adrestia robes. While it was more due to the fact he physically couldn’t wear them, those in Vitality would have little way to know this. For them, it would be safe to assume the goose was simply not part of Mercutio’s main team. Furthermore, there was unfortunately little stopping the floating goose regardless, due to his lack of physical body. While any swat or technique would certainly harm the ghostly medic, it wouldn’t actually be able to physically move him. It was as much of a curse as it were a blessing, considering it could easily leave him a sitting goose against a foe’s constant barrage of attacks. If they tried moving Abyssal away from the helpful medic, he’d simply follow along. But hopefully this wouldn’t be the case, as he’d continue an explanation in order to ease any suspicious minds.

”Now my body is made up of healin’ energy, and it can completely restore uh person’s body if’n I can touch their heart. I did it fer Big Red, and it’s only right if I do it for Abysser. But after I heal ‘er up, don’t y’all come back.”

Leroy’s ethereal hand would go directly into the paralyzed hero’s heart, the goose wasting little time to begin his work. He’d try to do his best to both console and persuade the Vitality group, trying his best to assure them he meant no harm.

”Gotta touch ‘er heart fer this tuh work, or else she won’t get enough energy. Hold still, or I-“

Unseen to everyone, of course, was the goose’s palm. They would be unable to notice the small seal placed upon it briefly It was common practice for a doctor to distract their patients with idle chit chat, often used to distract a fearful client from the pain of needles. This is exactly what the goose had been doing this entire time. The “aw shucks” aura that he often exuded would be useful for distracting an opponent in such case, as such a kind demeanor could easily hide any ill intent.

Before the goose could even finish his final sentence, a swift burst of crimson energy would emit from his palm and likely burst through Abyssal’s chest. He’d only go through with this, of course, if they allowed him to root around in their leader’s chest cavity. As soon as they would allow it, however, it would very likely be too late for them to even react to such a blast. Such a blast rivaled Mercutio’s, heck, it was Mercutio’s.

He wouldn’t waste little time, of course, after attempting this powerful surprise blast. Leroy knew they wouldn’t exactly be too happy with being duped, and didn’t want to get caught in the crossfire against much stronger foes. Especially, of course, after using his one means of attack. As the goose dove into the ground, he’d shout a few passing words towards the supposedly matron owl.

”Try not to talk about protectin’ chil’ren while yer own are killin’ ‘em, yuh two timin’ owl hussy.

He found her mere presence revolting, especially given the actions of her comrades. She spoke of taking on anyone that would harm the children, but apparently it was a gross facade. Empty words from an empty headed heathen. While Leroy was normally a bit more forgiving towards others, seeing another bird of energy had fully expended his sympathy. He couldn’t exactly explain why he had this innate disdain for the owl, but wasn’t too keen on not trusting it. Geese are naturally territorial after all, and perhaps seeing another bird of energy had caused these primitive instincts to kick in.

It was coincidental how often kindness lines up with “balance.” Perhaps it was the only thing that truly kept him around Mercutio’s guild, the noticeable similarities causing him to overlook the atrocities committed by his Crimson employer. As he began to make his way underneath the island and into the water, the etheral being had to momentarily reflect upon his actions. Not only had he lied, but attempted to kill out of malice. Was he being unkind? Of course not. His actions were but a kind favor to the world to rid it of this ruthless, hospital hunting beast. He’d still feel the aftermath of the blast as penance, however, his arm in immense pain as it was not exactly sturdy enough for such a blast. If he had still had bones, they’d be in pieces by now.

God of Destruction

"So, this is what happens when you let fear guide your decisions..." a broken man sulked as he fractured mentally to pieces. The words being uttered were empty though full of sound, but a true realization and not just a simple statement all the same. Life or eternity was dragging on quite slowly with Mercutio constantly groveling on and on about the past and the choice he made or didn't make. It was a fruitless venture for him and it easily could lead to madness.

"If only I just let what happened, happen... what if I should have allowed my actions to trigger World War 4? Would I have just been vilified.. no, WISH would have tried to cover it up... no, too many people." he ranted in a white room, the space full of images of his past and scenes he'd seen. It was disturbing, but after a few decades it gets a little less impressive.

"I ruined so many people's lives... I've broken so many families and what was it all really for?" he asked himself, "To save a World that doesn't actually want to be saved? A World where it's People rather be the victims and reap the easy rewards?"

"Oi, you stupid fucking wanker. Listen to your bloody self." a familiar voice screamed, slapping him over the head and delivering a familiar injury to his shoulder. A hopeful grin for a face grew as he turned to see red hair and a flask-in-mouth'd man around his 30's, name... Gavin McMaster. Mercutio threw his arms around him, something he'd never done before and threw a hug around his neck with a slamming fist into the center of his back. "Gavin, why did you choose me as Captain. Why follow me?"

"Is this some of that manga friendship stuff you read? Fuckin tosser~" he said as he brushed him off as he took another sip from his flash, but it was empty. With a toss behind him the flash disappeared and a glass materialized in air before Mercutio's eyes and filling with Gavin's favorite brown water, "Listen, you wank. You've always known this was going to be hard, don't forget why you started to fight. I followed you because I believed in you and you saw in me what others did not. I believed that you believed in me. That and you are bloody unstoppable when you're crossed. Sometimes you push the limit, but you generally have very good reason. Ya get me, mate?" he said as he took a drink from the tumbler glass and faded away as another hand tugged as the hem of his shirt. When he turned a little girl looking just like Mia was before him and as he went to happily scoop her up, she crumbled to dust but her voice filled his head.

"Big Brother, I love you so much and it's hurting me-" Mia said as her voice grew older in tone and suddenly it sounded off from behind him. Spinning quickly with a wide smile he met his sister and she hugged him. "I wish I wasn't were I was and I'm sorry you don't know but it's good you've moved on in your mind. It's healthy... mourning in the manner you wish is not. You know I wouldn't want this, you always were so heavy-handed... is no one around to hold you back? Don't forget me though, and maybe show some empathy a little, eh?" she laughed with scolding advice before fading away as Gavin did before her.

Tears dripped from each cheek, rolling freely from his face and this was what Mercutio was left to think over mentally for a good portion of a century before actually putting it to good use.

"Holding back... reserve punishment for those who deserve it. Tsukiko only wants me..." he sound allowed as her corpse went limp in his hands and he let his left arm dangle as he held Tsukiko by the hair. Using his quirk, he grabbed her and drifted her corpse before him as he descended down. Before anything else, he snapped both her legs so she couldn't move and both arms to stop her from considering fighting. Those who could see him might of thought it odd to further mutilate a dead body, but he had his reasons. "Shinko Iesu: Edo Tensei" he said before poking her in the forehead and a seal appearing that looked more like a gem.

As she came to, she asked immediately, "Am I alive? How am I?" she asked before the pain of her broken bones made her wince in agony as she looked to Mercutio walking with her in slow stride. "Is this Hell? You are here, so it must be." she bickered, "About what you said, before I killed you... what was it that you called me? A monster, correct?" he asked with a grin. "I hope you do believe me when I say I wish I could bring Sun Bro back, I do... but I'm not a monster; I'm a god. I killed you to make a point to you that you weren't strong enough, I want the best battle I can and I cannot allow the imbalance of your death. You balance me." he explained, "You see, get stronger once again, but when you return please know I will not be able to bring you back and if I could, I wouldn't because I will simple turn you off. My Soul is what is keeping you grounded to this earth and in time maybe I could find away with the help of my friends to bring back your Brother and even heal Abyssal. I've had much time to think and there is no telling to of the limits of those around me. Elysium and Adrestia are not to be trifled with." he said as the purple glow of Tsukiko's body began to creep around her and he gave her a good slap. If you destroy that seal, you are dead. I basically built in a bit of training for you in the seal itself. If you don't focus on control, you will degrade and destroy that seal. I know you can do it and if you come back and try to kill me again, just know what you felt here today. I hope you see my actions and try to understand though, even if you don't again... in fact I hope you don't." he ranted before ending with. " Tell them what happened here, what I did to you and then have done after. Tell them I declare myself the World's TRUE Symbol of Peace. Make sure WISH knows what I am about to tell them all." he instructed as he feather-fell down to embrace Alana as Tsukiko would be placed on the boat. "We can let them go, they will be a message. We no longer need to hide, the world knows everything, Love. We will show them what the Mercy of God feels like." he said before picking her up and drifting in the air with his beautiful lady caught in the hook of his arm.

It was then that he realized what Goose-guy was attempting to do and tried to react as quickly as possible. Manipulating Leroy himself, he attempted to yeet him as far away as possible from where he was going, but the bird doctor was damn close. With Goose as a direction, Mercutio pushed and pulled with a force that would pry Abyssal safely away from the attack and also from Ezra and the bird. "We can fix her, do not show her kindness in the manner you want, Leroy." he growled as he brought Abyssal's to him. "No one in the world will be able to fix her like we can, plus I need to make sure she doesn't try anything. As Crawford said, they are far better to us alive then dead. We are no longer a secret, we don't need to kill for silence any longer." he announced to everyone as Tsukiko spoke to those near here.

'That bastard... h-he... can resurrect the dead? D-did I die at all? What the fuck can't he do.. Fuck you, you stupid fucker." she said as she threw a fit like a child. You think someone would be happier after being brought back to life. Mercutio paid Tsukiko no more attention, she wasn't an issue any longer. "Ezra, come back when you can fly and I think I'll have Abyssal fix, alright?" he laughed as he pat the former #1 Hero as she attempt to retract from his touch and touch a few lurching bites at his fingers. "Hey, you'd have never of treated me with such kindness, I could have let you have some Down-South Grey Goose. He was about to hit you in the heart with a devestating blast I've armed him with... Trust me, more than just you would have been hit by that." he said as he switched his glare from Abyss to Leroy. "Think about the collateral kindness, eh. I gave you a cannon, not a fucking pee-shooter you silly fuck. Now go tend to the wounded and I'll handle the rest of this oh and tell the Misses that you'll be having Abyssal stay with you for the foreseeable future. You will tend to her and see to it that she is healed and young Eizen will help." he assured as he moved between the groups, squeezing Alana by the side tightly.

'All of you go home and tell the world what you should all now realize... This was a means to vilify me... THEY SENT YOU HERE TO DIE!" he assured them all. "They knew of the Giant's, not Nala, but Oars they did... and still they sent you. You are using you to murder children.. think about that on your way home. Think about what side your fighting for."

Taylor's words came across in such a manner that made very little sense, setting Alana next to Abyssal and telling her to play nice, he walked to Taylor, "I am not keeping you here as a prisoner, if you want to go... get on the boat." he said as he manipulated the energy and put them both, as one, on the boat. "I'll send Smokey your regards." he smirked casually as the sounds of music filled the air and Mercutio's quirk did something he rarely made it do anymore, create sounds through manipulation of kinetics.

Mercutio addressed the crowd once more before giving them a salute off,

"These people are here, they follow me despite everything because... or at least I believe they know I'd die for them to see their dreams and wishes come true." he said with a smirk as he know a few of them may have the goal of making Mercutio deceased.

"Gimme a second," Rainer said, voice strained and low. They finally reached the end of the cooled magma wall, and Rainer took this as a brief moment of respite, leaning his shoulder against the wall. His transformed arm gripped his left, pain stinging throughout it. Whether or not he'd broken any bones, the bounty hunter wasn't quite sure. Either way, that fused bastard did quite a number on him. And after everything else, he didn't even possess the willpower or energy to just calmly ignore the pain.

"Alright," he said through his teeth, pushing himself back up and walking out around the corner of the wall. "Wait, careful." Rainer stuck his hand back and glanced at Vivi, motioning for her to stop. He had already heard some commotion going on beyond the wall, but it had quickly become worse than he expected. What worried him was that dark bird fellow who just tried to go after them. It seemed that he had already arrived over here as well. Numerous attacks flooded in rapidly in succession, and Rainer even though Rainer wished he was closer to help out, he couldn't do anything from the distance. But the moment he tried to move, the stinging pain extended down from his left bicep and into his chest. "Fucker," he swore under his breath, falling to one knee. He raised his head up, looking out in the distance. He could see other Vitality operatives, although not all of them. Some seemed injured, even worse than the bounty hunter himself. One was Tapu, Rainer feeling guilty for having been unable to help him out. He could only imagine what the guy survived in the heart of the battlefield.

More and more people arrived, and finally to top it all off, there was Mercutio. Veiled in that red aura which Rainer first saw him in, he was up in the air with the body of their supposed back-up. "Not again," Rainer muttered, chuckling softly to himself. "Fucker just doesn't die." That wasn't the end to the surprises though, but this time it came in the form of a miracle. For whatever reason unknown to Rainer at the moment, the person who they came here to kill caused their ally's body to float into the boat. Mercutio's long speech echoed in Rainer's ears, the bounty hunter listening in expressionless as he digested what the man was saying. He prevented Rainer's other allies from getting harmed and sent the fused bastard into the boat as well, basically telling them that they were free to leave.

Maybe fleeing like such would leave a bitter taste in the mouths of some, but Rainer felt indifferent to the situation. Rather, he was happy. For all the bad things which occurred on this day, any good news seemed amazing in comparison. Now, whether or not the words Mercutio spoke were true was something Rainer would have to discern for himself another day, but for now what was important was leaving alive with the others. He'd leave the philosophical meandering and corruption to a later date.

Rainer let out a sigh, ruffling in his inner coat pocket as he took out a cigarette. Flick. Flames sprouted from his lighter, igniting the cigarette held with his mouth. Tucking his lighter back away, Rainer let out an exhale of smoke. He didn't control it or intend to use it for fighting though. The fighting was over. "Alright, let's leave," Rainer said, looking back to Vivi before turning and heading towards the boat.

It seemed like there was a lot of Elysium residents on the battlefield who were keen to help. After a young stone girl, whom Artie guessed must be one of the numerous orphans, arrived to help, Mairu followed soon after. He introduced his two friends together, however the tiny dragon did her best to give the older woman the cold shoulder. She was still slightly miffed, with the stress and worry of being on the battlefield affecting her. Still, they were all here to help Lyra, so the orphan just spared Sonomi a cold glare with arctic eyes before she turned around the lead the way back to the group.

When the groups merged Artemis looked around, noticing that someone was absent. It seemed like the friendly Goose who was the island's main Doctor had wandered off somewhere else. The creature sighed. She had hoped that the more experienced bird would be here to see what was wrong with the paper lady, but considering that no blood seemed to be leaking out of the other hopefully she wasn't too injured.

With nothing to do but wait for Eizen to finish on Gjoll or for Leroy to come back, the little dragon decided to see if she could make some friends. The battlefield probably wasn't the best place to do so, but only the strongest members seemed to be standing and, with Mercutio done with his fight, it looked like he had wandered over there to finish off. Artemis didn't want to be anywhere near the man, so she planted her bottom firmly on the ground. "My name is Artemis. Can you understand sign language?" Artie directed to Hiko and possibly Lyra. She knew it was unlikely that either would know how to speak it, but the orphan wouldn't know if she didn't try.

Doing her best to stay supportive, Hiko smiled through Lyra’s berating quip. What was important was that she wasn’t dying or bleeding out, if she could bitch, she could fight on. A lot was going on, with people and creatures popping in from all over the place, but it seemed things were finally starting to come to a close. Hiko abhorred all the violence and bloodshed, but knew it as necessary for real change to occur. Continuing to offer Lyra a pillar of support, she watched as another approached, this time the tiny dragon she had seen flitting around the island.

The funny thing about growing up in slums and the bottom layer of society, was that it left your education to be made up of both the utterly useless skills, and some surprisingly useful ones. For example, despite being a pubescent teenager, Hiko read at a second grade level. The flip side was that she understood a multitude of languages, including sign language. Hoping the little dragon wasn’t deaf, Hiko did her best to reply. “Nice to finally meet you Art…Artemis” Names were harder to read, especially with the dragon’s tiny hands. “I’m not nearly good enough to sign back, but I understand enough.” She smiled at the little creature, she hadn’t expected this level of intelligence when she had observed her darting around the island before, maybe this war would finally give her the chance to get to know the others, the inner circle she was so envious of.

Looking up in the sky, Hiko watched as her savior addressed the battlefield. He looked weathered, but the confidence he radiated still inspired her. Time had given her the opportunity to reflect on his actions. She had seen him display both kindness and brutality, act with altruistic goodness and foster the seeds of darkness. She had began to understand what his brand of ‘Balance’ actually meant, and todays events cemented that notion. Some days the world needed a light to show them the way, other days it needed darkness to rally them together. And then he said the words that stabbed deep into the little stone teen.
"These people are here, they follow me despite everything because... or at least I believe they know I'd die for them to see their dreams and wishes come true."
Love and respect were not words worthy to describe how she felt. Tears began to well up in her eyes as she fought back her emotions. She would follow this crimson beacon to hell itself if needed.

Mairu did his best to support the girl... well truly, it didn't quite need his best, finding the teen to be fairly light all things considered. His focus for now, though, was simply getting her over to the doctor's station. It looked like the feathered of the healing duo was off to go and help out with the last of the invaders. Whatever was going on down there, it sure was emotional. Lots of yelling, and a few attacks still. Compared to the war at full force but several minutes ago it was practically silent, Mercutio having finished off their last general.

In the end, it felt like they had won... but with dead bodies littering the ground, and the islanders boasting a bevy of injuries, the fox wasn't too sure on how well the next few days would be going. He was certain that, given time, things would go back to some semblance of normal, but on the other hand he wasn't so sure where he'd fall into that scale of things. Was he supposed to feel better about this when the war was over? Should he have cared more about all the destruction around him? Even looking at the legless corpse next to the feral boy who was being healed... Mairu felt nothing. No pang of guilt or horror, nor joy. A complete lack of emotional response.

The girl at last came to her feet, though felt wobbly enough that Mairu feared she may fall again, the boy holding her hand just in case she started to fall again. His emotions didn't matter then, he needed to make sure everyone else was okay, something he did by looking up at Lyra with a sweet smile and declaring, "Nice to meet you Mrs. Lyra! We should probably go to the doctor so he can... um... check up..." The boy trailed off, seeing his new friend raise her arm... only to not really have an arm to raise. A lost limb would have just been generally upsetting, but this was no bloodied stump, instead it was some sort of paper cut out, if he were to guess.

"Um... hey, Eizen!" The boy yelled out with worry, tugging on Lyra in an effort to get her to their medic as fast as possible. If they got there, Mairu would let the girl go, hoping he hadn't torn off a limb, before he spotted a rather upset Artemis, telling the paper girl, "I'll be right back Mrs. Lyra. Mr. Gjoll, can you please make sure she doesn't lose her other arm?"

Oblivious to the man's difficulty to controlling his quirk as it was, the fox boy shook thoughts of losing limbs like paper out of his mind, running up to Artemis and Hiko, tapping the former on the shoulder as he tepidly asked the girl with worry in his voice, "Artemis, are you hurt?" To the stone girl, he could only offer a tired smile and a wave, the day's events beginning to sap his energy.

A distraction came fast, however, in the form of even more yelling from the beach group, Mercutio himself now part of it all. He seemed to be reprimanding just about everyone there, his own side and theirs. In the end though, it looked like he was mostly just wanting them all to leave and understand that no one on Elysium was to be harmed, not under his gaze. At that part, Mairu gave a small smile.

This looked like it was finally going to be over.

Manaia might have been able to predict being able to resist the flames, but not the spread of them. Even for her intense wingspan, she couldn't protect them all. With Tapu directly behind her on the ground, he made certain that he didn't get hit. Abyssal had lava powers, even in her incapacitated state she should logically be okay. Chameleon also hadn't received nearly as much damage as Tapu. He had lost a limb, and was bleeding to death.

Before she knew it, alot suddenly happened. Sub Zero Ego showed up and made a wall. More and more people showed up, talking and talking and talking. As it stood, Manaia didn't trust anyone on the battlefield except those she personally knew. And that singular man was passed out, dying.

Mercutio himself even made another appearance. It seemed like the strange girl from before didn't stand a chance against him. She took in everyone's words before finally making an action. She let her transformation fall, returning to her normal state so that she could speak. Carefully, Manaia lifted Tapu up into her arms and cradled her against her chest like an injured child.

"I don't know what this is all about, or just exactly how I got so involved into something I shouldn't, but this is my problem now." She grimaced in anger, liting up Tapu a little more, angling him to try and keep his body elevated. "But if we were sent here to die, this is my personal battle now. I was deliberately uninformed, dropped onto an island to fight those I would never harm, and the only man with enough guts to leave Oni's Legion and join me is dying."

She'd simply glare at everyone around her, glowing eyes refusing to back down. "I do not pretend to understand all of your words. Corruption in WISH is not what I expected to hear, but looking back I've been a fool. All governments end up corrupt, caring about their power more than the people."

Disregarding everyone, even the rest of Vitality, she turned and began to walk towards the boat. "I will figure this out for myself. I will discover the presence, or absence, of corruption on my own. Excuse me for my distrust. Maybe I will be back, maybe I won't. But I'll be alone, that is a promise."

"And... Goose."
She turned to look towards him, wherever he might be. He had just said he was their medic, after all."A girl out there, she tried to protect me at one point. She had paper with her quirk. Let her know that I am sorry I did not slay those men where they stood. I hope she will understand. This man... is the only one I can consider a friend. His safety is paramount to me. Thank you."

Manaia would simply keep on walking, towards the boat regardless of who followed or any more words said. She'd personally oversee Tapu's healing, refusing to leave his side until he would recover. Quietly, she barely whispered as she walked "Hang in there big guy... Don't you dare quit on me yet, you stubborn oaf."

The small boy’s healing power was certainly strange alright. The intense burning he felt from Eizen’s healing ability didn’t fade at all, but each time the boy adjusted his hands to a new location, Gjöll would notice the pain of the injury in the previous location had faded slightly. He couldn’t physically see any change due to the boy’s hands blocking his view, but the older boy was certain that orphan’s power was having an effect. Eizen’s mutterings would not go unnoticed by Gjöll, who found the comment rather odd as no one had tried to talk to the orphan at all. The older boy wanted to ask him who he was talking to, but would refrain at this point as he didn’t want to break his concentration. He would definitely make note to ask him about it later though.

As the doctor returned from his little errand, it appeared that he had regained at least some of his power. Gjöll’s head would fill with a strange background sound of honking, as well as a lighthearted bubbly feeling, which would help him keep his blood thirst at bay. At the same time he could feel the pain of his wounds ease a little more, ever so slightly.
I listened to you! Why are you having him torture me? The voice of his subconscious whined with his head, obviously irritated by the kind thoughts and honking that now filled their shared mind.
The doc’s just trying to help heal us. He argued back, amused by his animal side’s irritation with the goose’s quirk. Even you can feel the slight healing effect it has.
I think I’d rather just deal with the pain. It grumbled in response before returning to silence. After a moment the goose would take off again and the bizarre honking would leave his head, his wounds now in a slightly better condition.

It appeared a few of the other’s had listened to his request and were helping bring Lyra’s over to the rest of them. Something was definitely off with her, had she always carried that much paper on her? He knew the girl’s quirk involved it, but keeping such a large amount of paper literally up her sleeve seemed very odd. He wasn’t the only one to suffer an injury to the arm it seemed, as the girl didn’t appear to have one anymore at all. He found it odd he couldn’t smell the scent of blood coming from the girl at all, had her injury already been treated? “Yeah Mairu, Don’t worry I’ll watch her.” He responded to the fox boy before turning to address Lyra herself. “You too huh? Psycho wolf bitch for me, what got you?” He joked, completely unaware that Lyra would only now be noticing her own injury.

Hearing the screaming overhead, he returned his gaze to the battle above them. It appeared the fight was finally over, and Mercutio had won. The silence and final wisp of power leaving her which followed her last outburst seemed to indicate the woman was no longer alive. Not knowing what the woman’s power almost a perfect counter to Mercutio, he had never doubted that the Crimson King would come out on top. The actions that followed certainly did surprise him, as snapping the limbs of a corpse seemed to be a bit overkill.

"Shinko Iesu: Edo Tensei"

Are you fucking kidding me? Gjöll thought to himself, rolling his eyes. Even if he hadn’t recognized the reference from one of the many mangas and animes Mercutio had showed him over the last two years, the woman’s immediate return to life was very apparent. After two years of following the man, you would think Gjöll would be used to these revelations of new power by now, no matter how ridiculous they were. He would listen as Merc addressed basically everyone on the island.

"These people are here, they follow me despite everything because... or at least I believe they know I'd die for them to see their dreams and wishes come true."

He would nod in acceptance of this last note. The man had taken Gjöll in when he had nothing and given him a purpose. Mercutio had become a odd combination of an older brother and father figure to him. After all the bullshit he and survived alongside the Being of Balance over the last two years, along with the control the man helped him gain over his quirk, Gjöll had a hard time thinking of what his life would have been like had he just decided to remain in his prison cell that day. Maybe he would have been set free, and eventually figured out how to gain the control on his own, ending up as a Hero like the wolf woman. Maybe he would have rot in jail for years and become the monster his quirk always pushed him to be. With everything he now know even if he could go back and change things, he still would pick Adrestia and Elysium over any other possible outcome. This was his home and his family now.

Amidst the exchanging of blows, the uncounted number of ranged attacks, and words. Vivi was the weakest of the bunch and she knew it, having nothing under her belt. She had expected to act as fodder, to be the first to get in harm's way, a momentary distraction as others more capable than her actually did things. That didn't happen though. She was still alive by the virtue of doing nothing to help her allies fight.

It was the way she rolled, it was the way she preferred things to be. She didn't have to expend that much energy except for that lapse of control where she truly wanted to kill that boy, damned the consequences. Yet, for once in her life, instead of feeling the satisfaction of almost having avoided combat she felt shame and guilt. She felt the shame of defeat and the guilt of not having contributed to the fight. 'Maybe if I did fight, we might've stood a chance and actually won.' She thought.

She had been running with Rainer, and unlike her he actually managed to do something. When he stopped and she followed his gaze she felt even more shame. She saw the rest of Vitality, or at least some of them, injured. Compared to her own small cuts they were worse off than her. She glanced back to Rainer and realized that despite being hurt he still helped her.

'I should've helped. I'm sorry.'

Then more people came before the Crimson Fucker himself made his appearance and she froze in fear. She listened to what he had to say and it took her minutes to realize that he was letting them go. She was immediately relieved before she processed everything he had said. They were never meant to succeed? They were just pawns in this game of chess? She couldn't believe it but the more she thought about it the more it made sense. She was sure to think about this more later on the way home.

Home...she actually gets to go home this day...

It was all over.

"Yeah, let's go." She managed to whisper to Rainer as she joined him, both making their way to the boat. "And I'm sorry for being useless." She whispered quietly to herself.

Arriving last on the scene of the enemies departure, Mordred would not be affected by the attacks being thrown around, but did make note of the ice and fire so as not to accidentally expose himself unnecessarily to any dangers. He breathed heavy. The gecko-man was not out of steam, but that battle had been swift and fierce leading up to these moments. The differing ideas spouted out were heard by Mordred, but he did not make a move to take a side. When Mercutio arrived, it made it a non-decision for Mordred. His life, what was left of it, was spared and a new home with a 'family' was provided. While the fighter's life had taken a rough turn over the past decade as seen in his scar riddled body and weaponization of his quirk, the values instilled in him by his parents were not gone. You don't spit in the face of those who do you a solid.

Mordred's fighting stance was lowered. While his spiney exterior did not soften in the event of the unforeseen, his arms crossed over his chest and he stood upright and firm. Lizard-like eyes seeing clearly in the morning, they focused on Mercutio and Vitality. This situation reminded him deeply of the circumstances that led to his disfigurement and his face ached unnecessarily at the irritation. The sea breeze was the only comfort here, but the salty air stung his wounds.

Mordred eyed the others in the area to see who would seize the opportunity given and who would try to toss it back. Aside from Alana, it didn't seem to Mordred like there would be any further incident unless someone from Vitality caused a problem. Mordred's eyes glared at no one in particular at the mention of everyone here being a tool to Wish's ends. It was a reminder to Mordred that these sorts of situations were nuanced and that his purist approach needed to change to better adapt and act in the best manner. It was a reminder who the real enemy was and the lengths they could go to oppose the view he sought after.

For the first time since the invasion of Vitality, a deep, enveloping hush fell over the entire island.

Aftermath of what had happened seemed to really sink in for the first time. The isle of Alana, Elysium's largest land mass, would likely be forever scarred by the conflict. Smoking craters peppered the sand-tapped grounds. The island's only medical facility lay in a smoldering heap. Broken walls of magma tried to separate parts of the island, as Abyssal had originally intended as a divide and conquer strategy.

For one reason or another, the conflict had finally run out of steam. The message for outsiders to leave was palpable, and a decision was made quickly when all fight was defused. The invisible operative of Vitality was silent throughout the entire process, patting off the cinders on his suit left there from a blast of fire beforehand. Luckily, his suit was strong enough to block most of the harmful heat from penetrating its layers. He had gotten away lightly, all things considered.

He lowered his head as his body became visible, turning his back and walking after the broken band of Heroes who had come with grand purpose.

In all his years of service with Vitality, Chameleon had never been left feeling so conflicted about what he was fighting for...

Having been lifted up, Lyra had no idea that the flying lizard was actually doing sign language or the like as her focus was directed elsewhere. Rather, she was more focused on the people that were helping her up, and the first of them to speak was the stone girl. Hearing something about signing, Lyra the glanced over at the airborne reptile and back at the stone loli. Vision glossing over between the two of them, realizing that they were talking about sign language. Letting out a hard sigh, she admits, "Though I may b... be young, I know sign language very well. Even do it, but not right now." Shaking her own head to whip the sweat off of her body, she noticed that the fox boy was wanting to get her checked up. Nodding along silently, she knew that the stab wound had to definitely looked at, cause it still burnt and hurt like a mother trucker.

Going along with the trio, Lyra arrived at the medic group with relative ease with only a paper trail following close behind the young woman, sheet still seemingly flowing out of her arm in rather small clusters. Being pawned off to Gjoll, Mairu said something really odd that made the masked woman narrow her eyes quite well. "Just cause I g-got stabbed doesn't mean my arm's lost ya dink!" Lyra whimpered out, rather frustrated at the kind of talk of distress when concerning her own well-being. Watching the bounce away, she turned her attention to Fearocity, who apparently joked about her wound despite hearing the aforementioned stabbing. This was starting to not be funny in the worst way possible, especially since he looked much worse for wear.

Groaning as she threw her free arm upward, the entire sleeve was now completely limp and Lyra herself now knew it. Especially as a ton of paper flew from her sleeve that she was definitely not controlling, with her own eyes widening. Pausing for a moment, the sleeve drooped aimlessly back downward while she used her stabbed arm's hand to undo her Adrestian robe. The robes of Elysium flopped off of her body and onto the sand, and her own eyes doubled into the size of sauce pans. Her right arm all the way up to her shoulder was gone, and pieces of her own body were falling off in sheets of paper.

This revelation caused her to lose her complete and utter focus on the stab wound which she had been pressured closed for the past while, only to reveal that the stab wound was more or less already in the process of healing. Not naturally, however, as the wound was visibly looking like a stack of ripped papers, slowly but surely coming back into place and fixing themselves due to the ease of the knife's stab wound being clean and easy to mend. Shock and anxiety were completely overwhelming Lyra's own mind, as she muttered out an incoherent stream of nonsense which seemed to follow the line of though of 'WHAT THE FRICK IS HAPPENING TO MY BODY.'

Her eyes rolling upward and into the back of her head, the already overheated and sick-feeling woman would go completely limp and fall face first into the sand, fainting from the complete mental overload and stress of these new changes. And, despite being face down in the sand, her shoulder which was slowly coming off in paper clusters started to reverse this process. The multitude of sheets that littered the sands would slowly return to Lyra's side, connecting right at the shoulder. Hardening, re-texturing, adjusting their own feel and firmness, the paper melded to become a part of Lyra's arm once again. Slowly but surely returning her body back into a normal state, but with a very heavy-handed tone of this being obscenely irregular, even to those that had known about her powers for the longest of time.

As William could have expected, his words spurred on action from both sides. The nature of that action, however, was much less predictable. Chaos seemed to swirl around them for a few moments, with the shadowy crow flying into the air with Huntress in his claw to avoid a barrage of icy spikes before looking down to survey the battlefield as it descended into a shouting match, as people made their stands and flew about the place. It was beginning to remind William why he didn't like working with children. For some odd reason, they tended to think they knew best, in spite of a lack of any evidence toward this.

Ultimately, the end result was as the Warden had hoped. Mercutio had arrived to retrieve Abyssal and quash any hopes Vitality might have had of escaping with their leader. Fortunately, it seemed at least the leader of these children knew the value in keeping the supposed Heroes alive. With the invaders making their solemn retreat, the war had been well and truly won, with a surprisingly minimal amount of casualties. Elysium had won, and by extension, so had William Crawford, as his most dangerous allies remained functioning, and he'd be leaving the battlefield with an unexpected prize...

Speaking of which, Wiliam set Huntress down on the ground, before landing himself beside her unconscious body. There was no reason to remain in his demonic form, so Arawn's shadowy figure peeled away from him, leaving the two separate once again. Almost immediately, the old warden buckled, almost feeling over had it not been for a nearby piece of the ice wall to steady himself on. His old bones ached harshly, and he could barely even walk with how his leg wound was feeling. Of course, it didn't help that he'd dropped his cane when he first transformed.

Arawn eyed his host with concern, but William brushed the worries aside. He just needed a bit of time to rest, or get one of the Elysians to help transport him. And, of course, his prisoner. Willaim looked down at Huntress' unconscious body, feeling slightly concerned at the prospect of her awakening. With a look, he had Arawn stand atop her in his smaller form, just in case. He made a mental note to put a quirk-suppressing harness on her as soon as she was in his prison, should she be allowed to be contained there. Once they'd all regrouped, Crawford would need to ask Mercutio for transportation back to his prison, hopefully with Huntress in tow. The information she might provide would certainly prove beneficial to them both, after all.

Although he had tasted victory today, WISH still remained, and their corruption still lingered in the world. If William really wanted to cleanse it, and to restore his proud country... Well, he still had a lot of work to do.

A flash of light lit up the beach, an indicator that Negan and Rosa had separated into their normal selves. The two of them had been so caught up in everything that they had neglected the time limit on their fusion. Negan fell to his knees, panting as he looked around at his surroundings. Mercutio had placed them on the boat so that they could leave with Vitality. He was allowing them to leave but Negan didn't want to leave. The maroon-haired boy shakily stood up and dropped off the boat, landing back on the mainland. The fatigue that Negan and Rosa felt after unfusing was usually manageable but it seemed that this new form of theirs punished them even more. "I'm sorry......" Negan said as he made his way over to the Being of Balance. Upon reaching him, Negan fell down to his knees again in an effort to conserve his energy. He really was not used to this level of fatigue. "I want to stay here!" the boy said, looking at Mercutio, a sincere expression plastered all over his face. "There was time when we first came to Elysium where we did feel like prisoners. But as time went on we got to know you better, we got to know everyone and we felt like we had found a new place to call home. We are not prisoners, on Elysium we are free. We were just too scared to realize it at the time." Negan stopped talking to catch his breath.

This whole invasion had just been a grim reminder on how inexperienced the two siblings were. They had power, yes but they had been using it inefficiently and that was just no good. "You know...When I was younger, I thought that if Rosa and I could just control our power then we'd be able to do anything. When we finally managed to get the hang of it, I thought that to have been true but after dealing with this invasion and making so many mistakes I've realized just how inexperienced we both are." He looked down at the ground, ashamed. "We just want to help people but we can't do that if we keep messing up." Negan stood up as he looked longingly at the mansion in the distance. He was in dire need of a nap, the fusion fatigue taking a toll on his energy. However now was not the time. He would stay here for now. After all, there was much to discuss after all that had happened. "We need your guidance."

The creation of the wall gave them all time to escape without having to put up with Mercutio's fodder following after them. As he was picking up Abyssal, some bastard manages to slip up out of the ground. At this point, Ezra was ready to knock it lose, but he wasn't even sure if his attacks would be able to phase him. It was possible he could blow the thing back with air, but with Abyssal in his arms, he can't bother to take risks. Nonetheless, the thing began to speak, much of what he said was not able to be picked up by him, whatever accent he had, it was horrible.

By the time he was done, he could hear the girl on the other side causing an uproar, which meant she would be on her way soon. The bastard wanted permission to heal Abyssal, which after all they've put up with, that wasn't going to happen. "Remove that thing you call a hand away before I send your ass flying... I don't trust any of you... people." As he was speaking, Mercutio would appear, sending the doctor flying and snatching Abyssal from his grasp. "The fuck?" Looking to see the crimson fucker, he held a smugness about him, which Ezra couldn't exactly blame him. He did just beat the strongest hero there was and someone else that looks to have put up a good fight.

Letting Mercutio speak first, he spoke of not hurting Abyssal, in fact, he wanted to heal her? A part of him trusted better to have them both in the care of Vitality, but as it stands, they didn't have the power to combat against this island. They never did, to begin with, even with facing and beating Mercutio, Star-Lord was still on their side, they had fucking giants and the quirks of these brats... It was irksome, and if WISH did know about all of this, they are fucking pieces of shit. Ezra was at a point where he was both pissed and conflicted. It wasn't as if he could face the government and call them out on their shit without a bounty being put on his head as well.

Then there was the fact that he still wanted to fuck up this island, mostly because he still remembers that punch Mercutio made against him when he was going after the bounty. The comment about flying still annoyed him as well, man he needed to learn how to fly. "Should have brought my hover-bike..." He muttered for a moment as Mercutio spoke to Abyssal bringing up that the goose was about to lay waste to her, prompting a scowl from Ezra. "So much for being a fucking doctor, I can trust, huh? Also, learn to speak English. As for you, fine, I can't risk these people's lives any more than we have. This won't be the last time, Mercutio, as for WISH, fuck em. Me and you still have beef, don't forget that, you snuck me at that damn hotel! Abyssal, Huntress, hang in there. You better keep your word, Crimson Fucker. For now, we're out, let's go, Vitality."

With that, he motioned for everyone to head to the ship. Everyone else, aside from Tapu were in one piece, so now they had to go and save him. Moving to the ship, once they were all present, the ship would leave this place, this hell-hole, as Ezra saw it.
