Adrestia assembled as Mercutio knew they would, it was... well, a rarity, if ever it had happened before at all, that he would fill that entire town with glowing crimson mist. It was obviously a signal and he was happy to see those who responded to the call despite it not being a test or false alarm. "We've worked for everything, we've saved far more than you'll ever be able to save no matter how many deaths you claim with my name and you aren't in place to judge." he said, staring her in the eye, "I decided long ago, that someday, I'd be a great King." he said with a frown, but a smile took over, "I was a foolish child enthralled by comic books and manga, but the idea of being strong enough to ensure the safety of those I loved was appealing. Heroes were amazing to me, but in the end manga was my escape because I realized people like you existed. I realized how tainted the idea of Heroics had become from what it was in it's origin. The cross between my fantasies, my ideology and my reality created my ideal of Balance or as my Mother said about how too much of a good thing can be a very bad thing. It was soon after that I realized that my dreams were not unreachable impossibilities. I realized that my ideology and my dream could run side by side without interfering and this is where you find me. A crimson force with a grey demeanor keeping the world in order even if the world doesn't understand and rather embrace chaos." he explained, countering her and talking to all those listening. "After I lay you to rest, the World will know me as the Crimson King because my dreams will have become my reality." he said with a smile, his words coming in truth and not in attempts to dissuade or intimidate nor throw shade or enter into a game of 4D chess; Mercutio truly meant what he said. It was likely he could die and people needed to know he wasn't just a tool or slave of balance. He did have desires, hopes, dreams... no matter how simple they may be. "Just us?" he said, texting his buddy before crushing his phone. 'I put my final favors from what I requested... to looking after those I love and care for in the event I past. Balance won't let me let you fight. I'm sorry, my friend.' '54%' "Nah, they are fun and are great company. We teach each other a lot even though they were brought here mostly on horrifying terms. I know you are ruthless, no need to remind me." he responded with a bold, unnerved tone. Mercutio knew what would come next and didn't hesitate to take precaution as the energy around him changed ever so subtly; just ever so slightly. Heat convection, something Abyssal most likely knew very well about, radiated around him as his senses would spike up to their maximum for just a moment and the surreal clarity would have taken a younger man's air straight from his lungs, but being 1028, he'd seen it all and this was truly seeing. '20%' Randomly patterned, pulsations of energy rippled from Abyssal's head, coursing through her body as she moved and spoke and that energy moved in time and pacing with her and for a moment he tuned her out in amazement. 'Am I seeing her electrical signals firing?' It was bizarre because, he'd never used this technique before... before today it was all but an idea in his head however, Mercutio was one to show he could defy reality. Before Mercutio could go deeper, before he could understand or even try, his Soul sensed movement and his Soul compensated. As his muscles tingled with pins and needles, he felt a certain invigoration that was completely overwhelming. The sensation itself carried him, the will to fight made him move, the will to live made him fight and the need to balance he knew was why he lived. Stepping back to evade the first, with an ease and grace better than those moving forward, Mercutio managed to angle himself to lessen the impact of the second strike, not because he was unsure in his ability to dodge, but to test her might and plot seeds. Using her violent momentum, he took the impact, digging into the ground and bracing himself with his quirk. Glowing hands would embrace Abyss and seals would be placed, her wrist being easily seen. Mercutio grasp on Abyssal's inner most pressure point of her armpit, with his other hand working the main leverage point of her body, hopefully would help him out-maneuver someone so strong. If it weren't for Abyssal's inability to have perfect in-air movement, Mercutio would be in trouble, well more trouble than he already was and he was running out of room to breathe with these walls. As best he could, he kept up with her speed as best as he could when starting from a stationary position. Without delay, he swiveled his body, throwing her to the ground behind him as he turned in throw to face her. A faint glow resonated from his finger as he moved now, patient and silent as his anger was shown in the thrashing energy crashing around them like machine gun fire, but sounding more like a blade through rock and stone. 'You don't deserve to live.' he screamed internally, but his face saying nothing and his aura telling it all. If Abyssal had any shred of logic, she would know this wouldn't be an easy fight despite what she might want to believe. Mercutio wasn't fighting for a bounty, he wasn't fighting for a prize or competition. Mercutio worried for all the broken dreams he was trying to repair and the graveyard of broken promise he would leave in the wake of his death... it just wouldn't do. Mercutio's speed was blinding, and nearly too fast for Mercutio to comprehend, but he moved all the same without thought. It wasn't any form of training that brought upon this, it wasn't some gadget or technique. Mercutio was able to move at his maximum speed, because of something some call stupidity, some call it gusto, but his ability to move without a second guess or hesitation was because he lacked fear. Fear of death. Techs & LP |

Mercutio's words didn't quite hit the mark that he may have wanted them. As he said himself, the woman was ruthless, but not in the way that he may be believed. It was obvious that he and his fodder fully believed that they were in the right. For as ruthless as she may have been, the crimes committed by Mercutio had never been done by herself. It pissed her off to hear this bastard speak, it pissed her off that he actually believed that she was the monster in this story. Every word he uttered brought about a fury in the woman that she was all too familiar with. Her anger was her fuel, it was her source that kept her going. The more Mercutio spoke, the more he pissed her off, the stronger she began to feel. "There was an error in your words... You said 'I was a foolish child', referring to yourself, obviously. However, it is rather apparent that you are still very much a foolish child. A foolish child with more power than you know what you can do with. If you believe that your simple-minded ideologies will be assured because you have hope and you see yourself as a Shonen Protagonist, you are in for a rude awakening... Crimson Fucker." There was intent in her words, a ruthlessness where she fully meant every word she spoke. Given what she knew of this child, he was a hot head through and through, Abyssal had no problem using that to her advantage. The pleasantries were done with, there was no one else in their way. Abyssal took the fight to Mercutio. Very much the same as before, the tightening of the muscles in her legs amass a pressurized air that once again caused the sand beneath them to fill the air. Watching the boy's movements, she knew full well that the child had something up his sleeve. That wouldn't exactly stop her, however, as she fully believed in the power of her fists. The first of her fist was evaded, the boy was able to keep up with the woman's speed enough to lessen any damage that was taken to him. This was fine, Abyssal didn't gain this power by sitting on her laurels. The soles of her boots began to sink in the ground as a bright orange liquid could be seen beneath her. This allowed for her to keep her stance, around the same time that Mercutio attempted to toss her to the ground. Instead, she began to widen the amount of lava that was produced beneath her. Extending the mass to flow beneath the feet of Mercutio as well, Abyssal was prepared to take control of the battlefield. Combating against the blast of energy that Mercutio was saving for the woman, she manipulated the lava upon the ground and raised it before her to form a wall. Similar to what she used to separate the others, this one was far thicker than it was large. The brunt of the blast was taken by the shield as whatever was left was taken by the woman once her wall had been left into nothing more than rubble. Knocked some feet away, she felt a bit of pain, but for her, that was just a normal day on the job. It wasn't enough to take her out the fight. "Was that your strongest attack? My god, you really are a child." The woman spoke before she began to manipulate the lava on the ground to shape around Mercutio's being. Spoiler: click to toggle

'I am what I've done... but what I've done is for good... for grey.. for balance and she is just a tool... but some tools run out of their usefulness.' The first evasion, a success; like this was on par with the woman's speed and the damage was minor if any at all existed. '37%' he thought as he moved and let go, throwing her hard into the sand below but she quickly stuck herself hard into place, finally using her quirk. The soles of her boots seemed to liquefy, sinking into the ground as bright orange liquid pool beneath her and Mercutio remained unfazed. She stance'd up and began to widen the amount of lava that was produced beneath her, and having hold of her, he waas immediately taken in by it as it burn away his clothes. The waves of energy pouring off Mercutio didn't seem to scratch the surface of her new defense but quickly it began to effect it; that, in itself, was a strategy and a ploy. It was similar to what she used to separate the others, but this one was far thicker than it was large. The smell of burning flesh filled his nose as a tear or two welled in his eyes as he sat, encased and burning. Even though it all looked dire for him, he held great faith in his combat experience and training carrying him through, after all... this little girl was hundreds of years younger than he, she needed to respect her elders. 'Oars.." he thought internally as many events and occurrences happened simultaneously. '99.9%' A burning on Abyssal's wrist would signify the turning point for Adrestia in this battle, hopefully. It would ideally be Abyss's underestimation of Mercutio that would be her ending misfortune. The burning seal pulsated with crimson only long enough to see and attempt to remove it, but by that time it would be too late. The burning would be immediately replaced with a thunderous crash and tons of weight pressing upon Abyssal's body. Bones would pop and dust filled the sky, a symphony of mutilation that in this moment fueled Mercutio rage. Symbolic roars took over, filling the air with a burst of volume so great you could see the air itself shake. Mercutio would reappear next to Abysal's corpse as Crimson Instinct would fade away, his right arm extended, his pointer finger glowing and his rage overflowing. Seething, breathing with labored breathe, he spoke to her as he shoved his finger into her face, smashing it into her forehead. "I'm one thousands year your senior." he remarked to her as the glowing of his finger tip illuminate brightly enough to send a spotlight into the sky of crimson. He knew he had to break his limit if he was truly going to have a chance to kill her, but he would be near spent if not killing himself for her. "Wither. Crimson Impact SPIRIT Rejection!" From point blank range, he mixed a unstably-charged Spirit Gun with his Signature Technique, screaming loud, screaming proud as OARS roared, using his weight and strength combined with a little tact to get the job done. Mercutio fell to his ass as blood poured from his nose and his left arm went numb, cracking slightly. "I need to... protect them." he mumbled, standing to his feet, covered in second degree burns... he felt that in that moment, it was either him or her. This was what he expected when fighting the best, but he didn't realize how badly hurt his quirk still made him... in this moment he couldn't even sense that well. It could be that Abyssal was dead, or he was going blind, but it could just be a side effect of using his quirk in the abusive manner he did. It wasn't an exact science yet, but if he lived to see tomorrow, it would be. Techs & LP

Blood rushed from Abyssal's mouth as the weight of a cruise ship pin-point dropped into her mid section, but even that wasn't enough to kill the woman. She was a Goddess among men and it was why she lived so long, but her confidence and constant over estimation of her own power in combination with her underestimation of those she fights lead to her current situation. Lava rapidly coated her and the monster on top of her's foot to try and burn it off, but the skin was healing as rapidly and fast, if not faster, than it burned. A hard pressure manifested around the same time she found herself underneath the monster. She tried to move her arms, but was unable, her legs were facing opposite directions and she knew the glowing at the end of Mercutio's finger wasn't for show. "...thousand years your senior?" was all she heard as her vision was blocked by her protective barrier. The woman was certain she was stronger no matter how advantageous the enemy's position, no matter how willy and well planned they were she was certain she'd always come out on top. She became number one the hard way. Cameras hated her, citizens feared her, but she did the good that was expected of Heroes... but her stone cold personality and naturally ruthless tactics began to give her a persona bigger than she actually was. Assumptions were truly a deadly thing, and today Abyssal found that out first hand. 'I leave it to you, my Ezra...' she thought as a smile replaced her glare. She was getting old... maybe this day was the day that would convince her to retire. Heroics, after all, was a job for the young, aspiring and energetic. Abyssal thought that this may just be chance, but it felt and seemed a lot like faith. She feel fighting a boy who claims that he wasn't the evil one, but that the Hero herself was. The idea, his ideology, it all confused her and it was what she thought about before she faded to black. Crimson light would burn her eyes, consuming her face as the blast erupted around them and filled the skies with bloody light as a roar of symphonies filled the battlefield air. Unconscious, Abyssal lies near lifeless with a lightly pulsating life force within; she had been played but a smile seemed to be resting on her unconscious face. Oars massive foot pressing into her still, the sound of bones popping, cracking and breaking still being heard as he refuses to let off. The heat, the concussive force, it scrambled her brains... she was lost in her head for the moment. Outcome |

A calm fell over Mercutio as he looked over the rest of the battlefield before floating slowly up to Oars to put a hand on his head. "Guess we are even then now, eh?" he asked to the Giant before him and got a response, "She a thot." he said, lifting his foot off her. "Are you hurt at all?" Mercutio asked as he held a limp left arm. The numbest coursing through it starting to fade slowly, but the double vision and fatigue was not. "My Generals will be fine, but the Civilians... I have to help them." he thought out loud as Oars whined about how hot the ground here was, "Dude, you are standing in lava... come on now." he said, forgetting Oars had awful sight. Taking this moment, he turn him and pointed, "Living areas are that way, I had the sharks get you a whale to eat. I promise to figure out a better meal." he assured as he drifted towards Abyss's corpse, grabbing her by the elastic super suit she wore. He lifted into the air, levitating as he did normally, but a bit slower. Hesitation could be seen in his movements with the lackluster fluidity, but he spun around in air as best he could and one arm threw Abyssal. Manipulating the energy, he tossed her into the middle of the field to present the war with it's biggest factor. The greatest of changing tides; Abyssal was already defeated. "We have to recharge that seal later, bud. Thanks for your help! I haven't forgotten my promise to you!" he said, waving painfully, grimacing through it. The confused, rather irritated Giant, walked back to his area he resided... there was no way Merc would get lucky like that again and he'd just be an obstacle for the others to work around... and Nala was already around. Lazily, popping a joint in his mouth, he drifted to see what was going on a few walls over. "She'd been better off learning to fly..." he laughed, thinking about Ezra and worrying about the fight he was in. Mercutio was a complicated man with a complicated ideology. Ezra was the kind of person the world needed and Mercutio saw a great grey within Ezra's soul, but it would be next to impossible to convince Ezra of this, of joining Mercutio as Merc would wish, especially after what he had done here. After rearranging his Sensei's face... it was beyond unlikely. Techs & LP
