Ah, Canada. The land of Hockey, Maple Syrup and pine trees. At least that's what Arthur immediately thought of when he visited the country. The frozen nation wasn't one Arthur was all that familiar with in truth, as he had only ever visited it once before. Today his work brought him to the city of Nova Scotia. A fairly large city situated on the outlying island of the nation. He had arrived by car, of course. Bridges ran all across the island.

A simple job had brought him to his destination today. It was a story not unlike those he'd heard before. Drug dealer. A wealthy mans son had passed away during a terrible accident involving the addictive substances. Poor kid. Man wanted the dealer dead. Any friends, too. A safe job, Arthur figured. As safe as it got in his line of work, anyways.

His contact was supposed to meet him in the morning. Too much risk to discuss details over the phone or email. You never knew who might be listening in or pulling data from the wireless connections. So for the night Arthur was free. Dressed nicely as always, black shoes with matching slacks, a white button-up shirt and a black vest and tie.

Over that was a dress-coat to protect from the cold weather. Winter was cold, but even more so in the northern country he found himself in at the moment. Deciding he'd try the local pubs, he found himself inside one of the more high-class bars in town. Bouncer at the front door, nice gentle jaz playing, no rowdy kids or ruffians to bother him.

Perfect.

He'd gotten inside, ordered his drinks, and took a survey of his surroundings. Nobody out of the ordinary, he supposed. There were a few X-Forms here and there and maybe someone with the occasional tail or extra arm, but that was normal. What wasn't normal, however, was the beautiful creature he spotted sitting all by her lonesome.

She didn't seem to be waiting on anyone. And she was wearing a lovely dress. Yellow-and-black hair like a bee, split right down the middle. She took a sip from her cup and started coughing it right back up. Seems she didn't like the taste. Arthur chuckled and made his way over. He flashed a smooth smile at her, before placing his fingers on the edge of the table. A silent way of asking if he could join her.

"Here."
He began. "Let me get you a real drink. Coffee is terrible for the heart."

You could question what in the hell Kimiko Yoshizawa had been doing in Canada of all places? Well, in her past Kimiko always did have a tendency to run away from places she was most familiar with for at least a few weeks- even if doing so at not-so-opportune moments...kind of like when you were running a school which you were both the principal AND the headmaster of. It didn't help that Kimiko herself wasn't a fan of leaving other people in charge of shit either. Kimiko had to admit, she was a real mess of a woman, she just couldn't make sense of things some times- thus her running away!

She was sure things would be fine, things usually always ended up with her alive at the end which was good enough for her. Maybe Canada was a bit of a stretch to find herself in to run away, but she had already spoiled herself over both America and Japan, she wasn't much of a hipster but even she had to admit Europe was a bit overrated, Canada was nice and new to her eyes, even if she did despise the cold weather it wasn't like she was waiting to participate in viewing some concert of some sort nor waiting on anyone else- so she could move at her leisure and stay within the comfort of a warm environment.

The so called lovely dress Kimiko was wearing was actually just a lengthy wool trench coat with three flat buttons, her legs were bare lacking any stockings or anything of the sort, Kimiko couldn't help but have a bit of faith in the urban legend of gaining more weight in the winter, leaving her legs bare evidently was the best she could do. She raised the mug in which she held black coffee, to sip the steamy hot drink only to hic and spit it back out. She'd cringe at the mug- what the hell did people see in bitter flavors? She'd have to ask someone one day. With a sigh she'd return to her solent silence as someone would approach the table.

She'd open her eyes to look up to the man, who'd offer to get her a drink better than coffee, which to be fair was probably anything else...good enough for her. She would nod to him slowly handing the mug to him though keeping her eyes on the desk, she thought about saying something edgy like her heart couldn't get any worse but she just didn't have the energy.

"Sure, why not...pretty sure you could pour the coffee out and spit in the mug and it'd taste better" On another note she hoped he took that as sarcastic as she meant it to be, she wasn't in the mood to have her mug spat in.

Arthur chuckled when Kimiko spoke about the taste of coffee. He wasn't going to actually do as she suggested. Instead, he raised his hand and turned to one of the waitresses. "Young lady." He spoke as the waitress passed by, platter in hand. He'd hand her the coffee. "Go ahead and put that on my bill. Bring us a bottle of white wine and some glasses, please."

The waitress smiled and nodded as she did to everyone. "Of course! I'll be just a moment, sir." And then she was gone into the back of the bar, vanishing into the kitchen. Arthur decided to pull the seat back and sit down in front of Kimiko while they waited. "So." He began. "If I'm going to buy a woman a drink, I'd like to at least know her name. I'm Arthur. A pleasure to meet you, miss...?"

Soon enough the waitress would return with the bottle of wine. A sweet drink, cool and smooth to drink down. Not that white wine actually had that much alcohol in it. It was mostly a fruity drink. A 'womans drink' his friends used to say. Not that he cared. He liked the taste.

He didn't like drinking beer. Tasted like piss.

Initially, Kimiko didn't really have any thoughts on the man that seemed to be attempting to speak with her, not that she was opposed to conversation or anything. The reason Kimiko sat alone in the first place was to not seem like she was going to be contributing to any conversations nor did she feel a need to eavesdrop on anyone- with this being her first time in Canada it didn't seem like she'd get much useful information that would require listening out on other people's conversations. When the man finally came back he basically asked Kimiko for her name. She wondered if it would be a problem to tell her real name or at the very least her full, it probably wouldn't be much of a problem unless it was an attempt at being assassinated.

Bah what could it hurt? She was here to escape anyway not go undercover, if it became a problem Kimiko was sure she could shimmy her way out of it like she always did. Looking up from the table to the curious man she'd introduce herself properly. "You can call me Kimiko."

She would say as the waitress approached with the bottle. Now that the introductions were pretty much done with Kimiko thought maybe it would be in her best interest to investigate what this man wanted with her. Resting her elbow on the table she brought her eyes up to the man once again, still holding her somewhat bored and neutral expression.

"So what made you approach me? Most people sitting alone probably do that on purpose, right?" She wasn't sure if that as throwing shade or not- but this was the best she could do at making conversation or at least the effort she was willing to put forward.

Arthur smiled when Kimiko told her his name. He had no reason to doubt it was her real name, and it certainly sounded Japanese, but she appeared to be of mixed race. Caucasian and Japanese, it seemed. She asked why he approached her when she was sitting alone. "Same reason any man approaches a lovely woman at a bar, I'd imagine."

When the waitress appeared and set the bottle on the table with two glasses, Arthur popped off the cork and began pouring them each a glass, pushing Kimikos glass to her first. Ladies first, after all. "My name is Arthur. A pleasure to meet you." He took a sip from his glass after pushing the bottle to the opposite end of the table near the wall, to ensure it wouldn't get knocked over. "If I may ask -- I'd have to hazard a guess you're from Japan. What brings you to Canada? Business like me, or are you sight-seeing?"

Kimiko still wouldn't show all that much enthusiasm in getting to know someone with the implication of her being a "lovely woman" but still, the arguably anti-social woman wasn't going to deny the man a conversation at all. Kimiko would swing her eyes in the direction in which the alcohol would slide to her side of the table, looking down to it as the liquid in the cup swished around before settling Kimiko would then look to the source.

He'd introduce himself as Arthur then ask the quiet woman her own name. She'd sit up straight then fold her hands over the table before speaking again. "I'm Kimiko Yoshizawa" She would with a straight face. "Technically I'm American, born and err...raised" She'd say drawing her finger over the ring of her glass. "I guess you could say I'm sightseeing..."

After speaking slightly kimiko suddenly had a feeling in her spine, the type of feeling that made you want to act out on an instinct you had. She'd smirk before looking toward Arthur again.
Kimiko's Smirk

"Actually, you could say I'm looking for something to do, on my vacations I like to...branch out take some action on...interesting activities, maybe even something I've never done before" She'd grab her glass and take a very small sip, having never really touched the stuff she was a bit sceptical of the taste and...well, it sure wasn't coffee.
"So what type of...'business' trip are you on mister Arthur?" She would say leaning forward resting her cheek in the palm of her hand as she balanced her elbow on the table.
