Grand Larceny Has Never Been This Easy

It was in the middle of the day, exactly after one a clock. The suns beams were shining at their zenith across the sprawling city of tokyo. A trio of young adults. Looking almost like they might be their own entities save for the trail of shadow leading into the small of a certain young woman's back. Walked out of the cafe in which they'd just enjoyed their meal. Every detail about this day had been planned to go off without a hitch.

Margret was smart, and she knew that in a world of quirks there were all manour of ways to make money that involved no risk at all and were virtually untraceable back to herself. She also knew more than most just how expensive war can be. Even the domestic war she was planning against organized crime would feature a fanciful price tag to say the least. And that was why they were at Margret's own bank, one of the best protected in the entire city.

With it's shining thatched roof and state of the art security system. Anyone but the most hardened of villains would be a fool to attempt a robbery. But today was different, she'd used her connections on the black market to bring a certain contact to assist her. He had the quirk for the job, and she had the safety deposit boxes. All they had to do was steal some of the precious information and get out. While she herself had to keep her darkshadows in control. Something that was going well with Sweets in particular listening to blaring music. She stood outside the bank, where they agreed to meet.

Elliot had been, well, kidnapped. His house had apparently burned down, along with all his memories, and he'd been picked up by the police, held until they could figure out what to do with him. For the first couple hours, it was all a blur since his quirk had written his memories into paper he'd just been passing by, but once they checked the registry he was provided a large book which he now kept in his backpack.

And, a few days later, he'd been released into the custody of shady individuals by some, he assumed, paid-off cops and here he was, being dropped off by the black market on the corner of the bank he was going to rob. He was only briefed... briefly on the job, specifically that this would essentially work to be buying himself from slavery, and little extra for himself. Elliot had no doubt that the criminal underground had hitmen who'd deal with him if he ran. Still, he was desperate for... purpose. Memories, a past. He had to form it now, create a new person for himself, and he would not make a slave.

Elliot approached the lady known as Margret Fushoko with a wave. They must've told her he didn't speak or hear words, right? He hoped they did, else this could turn very confusing very quickly, and he was really done with confusion.

Humble smiled in a friendly fashion once Elliot had arrived, similarly Margret put a hand on her hip and beckoned him closer. Margret herself was an extremely well educated individual who'd had some training in many languages. Yet Humble had gone out of her way to learn more with her naturally empathetic personality. Including sign language, knowing the predicament that her associate for the day was in. Margret was sure to keep a handheld book on the language in her purse."Hello Elliot dear, this won't take long at all." She would gesture to him.

The group would then start to head inside the building. They were welcomed just like anyone else, more so with the somewhat prestigious Fushoko trio involved. Prestige might not have been the word for it, and fear might have been a better name for the motivator. But the respect in their eyes made Margret all the more jovial to say the least.

Humble was quite interested in trying to learn about and possibly even help the boy that they had 'hired' for this job. "I was dreadfully upset when I heard about your situation my child. This should only take a few minutes. Margret and Sweets here will take care of all the details of our transaction today. No one will be harmed, you have my word. My name is Humble, I hope we can help you find comfort and happiness after your incident. It is the way of the Yakuza to care for those that work alongside us." She confides with in him with smooth, easy to understand signals.

Eyes were on them the moment they stepped into the building, and Elliot felt panic in his heart. What if an alarm goes off and he can't hear it? What if the guards were coming, but he couldn't call to his comrades? He was calm before, unknowing of the proper reaction to this situation, yet the innocence of amnesia wore off andan instinctual nervousness had struck. While not a great time, this made Elliot happy that his mind wasn't all gone in the flame, though he didn't contemplate it much before the large lion-like shadow-like person-like thing began to sign to him.

Elliot read the signs easily enough, though was somewhat, how to say... freaked out by this thing which was speaking to him. He'd seen dog-people and stuff before, but for some reason this was the only one so far he felt was truly odd, and Elliot could not figure out whether it was the fact it was made of shadow or the kindness which he was new to. This confusion was worn plainly on his face, not yet learned in any proficiency of tact.

"Okay." He replied in sign awkwardly, following behind. He looked about the bank, at the cameras and security, the paths and doors. A map was being formed upon one of his pages. For him, the images were burned into his mind like photographic memory, yet he never felt the advantage of this quirk, only the fragility of his mind which existed purely beyond his body. The book felt heavier on his back, though his psychic ink weighed practically nothing.

Elliot signed close to his chest, out of the sight of any cameras. "How will we steal?"

Humble would give a small chuckle, leaning over Elliot to explain through dexterous hands. "There is no danger involved little Eliot, calm down. Margret has a safety deposit box, so we will take you to a room in which all the boxes are kept. There are simply some very valuable documents that my sister can sell on the black market. All belonging to the rival Yakuza dear."

Margret would begin a brief transaction with a well dressed dog like woman that was waiting at the counter. It did not take long for Sweets to interupt, giving a rare pur as he leaned in over the counter in what he would consider to be a charming manour but many others would consider brutish. "Hey baby, ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight~?" His... Flirtatious sentiment was not returned.

Humble would then continue. "It'll only take a few minutes, my child. Once we are in I need you to search for the personal information of a Kiko Amagi, Akemi Amagi, and a Barnabus Amagi. Social security numbers, banking information. Copy it all down, we'll be pretending that you are copying documents Margret has brought with her for safekeeping in the bank." It was an easy plan, a get in and get out kind of job. But Humble hoped they weren't putting too much pressure on the boy.

Elliot pretty much understood the plan. If he gets a look at the papers, he'll copy it all down in his memory book. There was little risk in the plan, at least for him.

In all honesty, Elliot would seem... passive to those around him. He couldn't speak, couldn't respond. Only his eyes functioned properly enough for him to perceive the outside world. Yet, beneath the blank expression he wore, there was a deep paranoia about him. Would he be let go after this? Wouldn't the criminals who sold him off just burn up his memories of this event, and have him do this "one job" for them again? Is this even the first "one job" he's done?

He played the innocent for now, but vigilantly he searched for an out, a way to cut his losses. Elliot looked over at the receptionist's counter as the shadow-lion-man flirted, some papers and post-it notes about it. The cameras were everywhere, still, but they'd be of no use, especially since if he got caught too he'd just be handed off to the black market again.

So, for the moment, he stayed dorment, giving Humble a sign: "Understood."

There were indeed many security camera's and security officials that were nicely presented to give the illusion of an utterly trustworthy infallible institution. The ground floor had one main entrance and atleast one emergency and staff only exit. There seemed to be a reasonable amount of traffic going in and out of this place. Unfortunately for suspicious Elliot Humble was paying him close attention and Margret was walking right by him.

In no time at all since Margret had made an appointment they would soon be around the corner, through a vault like door and into the safety deposit box room. There was all sorts of information Elliot's Quirk enlightened him too. Names, Addresses, and personal information galore. There were many deeds, savings bonds, engraved items and if he searched he would easily be able to come up with the requested information on the Amagi suspects he'd been asked to get his hands on.

Margret meanwhile dug through her own safety deposit box. There was some important memorabilia inside. Jewelry, which she'd never been a fan of. There existed a few awards, the diploma that had been mailed to her home. And a small teddy bear. It was just slightly torn up and looked to be atleast as old as the three siblings. She held it to her chest, it was to her a priceless artifact of a better time.

Of course, it also contained a tiny piece of paper that had been folded and stuffed into the bears back. Which she quietly removed. On it were the names and phone numbers she needed of a lot of informants, black market dealers. And other private contacts her father held in good trust. A list of loyal, but expensive allys that would be there when it came time to rebuild the empire. Her father always did have a way to plan ahead, in a way. She felt like she'd been groomed for this situation all her life.

Elliot acted passive, nodding to Humble and closing his eyes, as if to concentrate. That was all for show, of course. He'd already gotten what Margret had wanted, copied fully in his notebook, and was now shifting through everything else. documents, bills, whatever. He noticed Margret's list, making a copy of it in his book which, should push come to shove, could be destroyed.

At this point, he'd guaranteed his worth, to an extent. Now was the time to act. He concentrated on the paper in the safe Margret wanted in on. His quirk gave him two abilities: to remember anything on paper, and to record his memories on paper via a sort of psychic ink. Any external movements would be noticed, so instead Elliot used his tongue, which was so useless for talking, and began to move it along the top of his mouth, writing characters which spelt out on the documents in front of the clerk thus: "Margret, Humble, Sweets" Just the names of his current 'companions', but with luck this would make its way to Margret's enemies. He wouldn't remember his doing this, so long as the paper remained in the safe, but hopefully will be able to claim credit should these Amagi's come knocking. Of course, this all wasn't his problem, should he be freed as was promised, but... he was a paranoid sort, he wasn't sure where he got it from. Perhaps it was simply the inclination of anyone who has the sort of quirk which made them so... vulnerable.

Of course, Elliot’s minor act of treason couldent possible be noticed by any of his cohorts. With the job complete Margret would put the bear away, hoping that Elliot nor anybody on the security camera’s had saw her moment of weakness before the group then began to quietly leave the establishment without issue. Of course the boys rise would take more than a little time to come into effect, but soon their element of secrecy was sure to die.

It would be a calm walk or to the parking lot where Margret’s limozine awaited. Along a row with a few others of course. She would climb into the deer and apparently relax. Guesturing for Elliot to come closer. “Thank you Elliot, now just hand me your notebook for a minute to copy over the details and I will pay you your share.” She requests. Both of har dark shadows quietly flanking behind him. Cutting off any potential route for escape.

Margret of course has been working towards a dastardly plan for herself. Plotting to steal the book away, drug the boy, before proceeding to write her own version of events from the beginning. She would put him against her enemies, fill him with endless gratitude and dependence on her and her family. She might even expirement around with just how far she could change his personality. The mastermind had convinced Humble to do this so that Elliot could be happier at their side. Rather than loosing his life tracking down some worthless memories lost to a fire.

Elliot froze, unsure what to do. He knew running was a waste of time, those shadows cutting him off. With a breath, he unfroze, shifting and taking off his backpack, and began to reach for the zipper... then lunged at Margret in a last ditch effort. He'd reach for her shirt, trying to grab her and bring her close enough to bite off her ear. The shadows had him flanked, so forward was truly one of the safer directions he could go. More so, if he ran while the boss lady was bleeding, he hoped the shadows would prioritize her long enough that Elliot could get away.

Margret was not quite expecting this level of desperation to immediately be shown by the boy. Still, she was ready for him. And it was three on one. "Take him." She'd demand as perfectly on cue with his attack the two would reach in to grab the boys arms and hold him back. Margret scooting deeper into the vehicle so his attack would only push him closer to his doom.

The mafioso's would then proceed to close his door. With Margaret then taking out a moderately sized pill. "This is happening weather you like it or not, it only depends on how much you want to get hurt in the process." She demands with authority. The pill was a prescription strength dose of kentamine that if swallowed would have him tranquilized in seconds. She had gotten a hold of it through her connections in the medical field. Rope might have been more practical, but this would be easiest for everyone involved. She would force it into his mouth before helping her shadows hold him down. He'd have several hands clamped over his mouth and his nose pinched until he either passed out, gave in, or somehow escaped.

Elliot tried to bite down on the hands in his mouth, but there were too many, all prying him open, vulnerable and helpless. He couldn't breath, his pages filling with insanity, no order just a jumble of desperate cries for help, cries of defiance, cries of despair. Like some unsightly worm, Elliot squirmed helplessly as Margret placed the pill in his mouth. It tasted bad, and soon it was shoved directly down his throat. He tried to throw up, but accidentally swallowed instead.

Moans and tears, Elliot watched the criminals step off him, and he tried to run again, yet he was just so... tired. He couldn't... he can't... He fell asleep, then and there, prone and, once again, helpless to the whims of others.

Moments after Elliot was it he’d be dragged into the limo and it would drive off. Margret already helping herself to the journal he had been left behind. She wished she could get a journal like this for all of her enemies. They had some real dirty little secrets she’d like to know about.... It appeared that the boy had gone and tried to tip off the Amagi. The triplets had lost the element of surprise it seems. But had gained a powerful ally.

She would dispose of the book. And would rewrite a new one as such. She would paint him as a member of the family. His new name was Elon Fushoko. It was written that he had woken up in a room that had been burned I the ground with several of his relatives inside. This book was his backup book and the Amagi family was responsible. She also wrote a fair amount about what he knew about herself as well as her dark shadows. When he woke up, she would pretend to have saved him from a coma. Never giving a chink in the armor, yet ready to reset everything if this new memory did not take...
