All around, for weeks on end, an endlessly blue horizon was all the eye could see. In hindsight, this was clearly a bad idea. She had been woefully unprepared for the merciless expanse of the open ocean. Shiori was seated, digging her hand around in a near empty bag for the last crumbs of stale Senbei crackers. The very last remains of the very last bag that represented the full extent of the very limited food supplies she had brought on this trip. The humm of an engine and the sound of water breaking around the ships bow had been her only companion for days on end. The salty taste on her lips from the last crumbs of cracker did little to satiate the hunger and the sounds that had remained unchanged for days made her dejected. She pulled her legs close and sighed. Her eyes wandered over the rusted steel deck of the ship she had cobbled together towards the fishing rod that she had cast out over the side. The line had not twitched for days and even now it remained painfully unmoved as the fleeting sensation of food left her even hungrier then before. It was to quiet, to lonely and for the first time she felt a shred of despair. Did she not make landfall soon this adventure might come to an inevitable, painful and drawn out conclusion. She shook her head, attempting to banish the depressing thoughts from her mind. She got up and walked towards the steering wheel of the ship, one salvaged from an old broken down car. In fact the entire ship had a beaten down, cobbled together look. Its hull was made from different colours of steel that blurred into one another giving it a rainbow sheen of colours shifting from one colour to the next into bare steel covered in rust. Most of the deck was covered in archaic seeming machinery, the pipes and boilers of a steam powered engine driving the small ship relentlessly across the seas that were as unmoving as a mirror. Not even a small breeze blew across the water and she sighed as she picked up a battered steel cup from the armrest of a chair that seemed more at home in a grandmothers house then behind the steering wheel of a ship. She held it underneath a small tap on the side of the boiler and open the valve causing clear fresh water to pour into the cup. At least she wouldn't run out of water to drink as long as she had fuel to stoke the heat of the boiler. A comforting thought, instead of dying of thirst hunger would take so much longer. Even the self mocking tone of her thoughts was starting to become an annoyance, even so she brought the cup to her lips and drank. She closed her eyes, ahh... the hallucinations were starting now... she could swear she just heard... She opened her eyes and snapped her head upwards, staring at the sky. No she had definitely heard it! The cry of a seagull... that could mean only one thing. Land was near! She dropped herself down in the chair and pulled down the lever from cruising speed towards, Fast, Faster, Fastest all teh way into the red on the dial, the display reading 'I'm givin' er all shes got cap'n!' and with a rumble and the high pitched sound of steam whistling out of the engines exhaust the clunker of a ship started to accelerate forwards as she kept her eye on the bird circling overhead. And then finally, a narrow dot on the horizon was quickly starting to grow. LAND! |

Gjöll sat on the beach of the large island, staring out into space at the incoming waves. With the arrival newer residents, everything had grown a bit more hectic. It was nice to have some time to not have to think of the orphans or the trouble they could be causing. Even though he had only chosen to interact with a few of them, that hadn't stopped him from watching the others from a distance. For the most part they had been adjusting to their new lives fairly well, only inhibited by the lack of development of the newly developing country. He found the rhythm of the waves soothing, a decent way to wipe away the stress of some of the more recent events. This relaxing scene would be brought to an end when he noticed a small dot bobbing on the waves at the far limits of his vision. Were his eyes playing tricks on him? The boy would blink several times, rubbing his eyes with his arm to clear any spots in his vision without catching an obsidian claw in the eye. Sure enough the dot remained and had grown in size, as it came closer. Why the hell would someone be out this far? Ships were a rare enough sight in Elysium, and the lack of a port meant that they had to know they were coming in, in order to direct people and cargo to their destinations. I yet without any warning, some dumb-ass had strayed hundreds of miles from any other country, deep into Elysian waters. Gjöll couldn't help but let out a low growl in annoyance, baring his fangs slightly and twitching his tail beneath his cloak, as the small dot grew and vague features began to take shape. Maybe when Sato got back from whatever the hell he was doing they could look into setting up a ring of a lava rock spikes a few miles out to deter any more unwanted visitors. The hot tempered man had built the entire large island up from the bottom of the ocean after all, how hard could it be for him to set up a couple thousand spikes? Of course they should leave an opening for those had made the proper arrangements, but that could be worked out later. He would focus himself on dealing with the current visitor/s. They were still beyond a mile out and would it would be at least several minutes before they made landfall. He watched the small craft intently, keeping an ear out for anyone that might be nearby that could possibly assist in welcoming their "uninvited guest". Edited by Neharo, Jan 18 2018, 08:27 AM.

Sweet Baby Lemon Hands, the wizard, is here to the rescue!
|
Sonomi took in a few deep breaths as she walked about on the sandy terrain, her eyes just shifting to the side as she was lost in thought from the recent events. Not only was the girl still groggy about the events of the African elections, but she had to endure her punishment from all the newly acquired orphans that ran rampant about the prior quiet island. Mercutio sure knew how to let the girl regret her actions, even though he hadn't really done anything physical to her as of yet. The girl just didn't feel all too confident yet in terms of openly talking to those orphans, only seeing the blood metaphorically spilt on her hands when one seems to frown - but in due time, she'd surely be herself again. "Just give it some time, and things'll be okay." Sonomi whispered to herself as her hands were placed behind her head soon after her monologue. It was only when Sonomi's usual steps were made and eyes always scanning the area that she saw a new but all too familar face sitting at her usual spot, Gjöll. His expression being the same as the hers whenever she'd show up to just listen to the waves wash upon shore. The white haired girl had to admit, she could see herself getting along with Gjöll even though they hadn't really spoken much after the elections. The boy did have something going on with him if she recalled briefly from the said event, but she couldn't get much of an idea due to the intensity back then. It was just something about him that Sonomi was drawn to, perhaps curiosity? Now seemed like as good of a time as ever for getting to know the boy as she took a few more soft but slow steps. "Hey, Fera- ...?" Sonomi was going to engage in more of a conversation but the boy's face had remained focused out on sea, a few low growls even escaping his form as she followed his gaze. The reaction was quite slow but it took the girl a few more moments to notice the bobbing dot that was drifting upon the outer edge of Elysium waters. "Oh..." It was very brief but Sonomi was surely at a loss for words as a million thoughts went through her head. Did these people have a death wish? How many people were coming? Did they know about Africa? "So, what do you think we should do about this? We have some time to think before it approaches the shore." The girl continued before adjusting her glasses and crossing both of her arms soon after. The thought of Mercutio did go through her head a few times, but there was always the problem of getting to him too late or that perhaps he'd already known? The blind brother of hers sure did have his ways of knowing what happens on his island after all. "Also, just calling me 'Sonomi' between us is fine. No need for the 'White Rose' stuff, we don't have to be as formal as when we leave the area." She added before looking down at the boy to give him some what of a half smile, and for once it was genuine compared to the numerous times before where she'd simply fake it. "Mercutio-san would need to probably know about this, but if all else fails - we'll be working together on this one. Yeah? You should probably explain to me what you can actually do - I didn't see it much during the..." The obvious pause was apparent as she looked away and back towards the ship that'd been approaching closer the more that they talked. "Anyways, I believe you know what I can do if Mercutio-san hasn't told you already." She finished before maintaining a straight face towards the shore and awaiting Gjöll's responses. |

The little dot on the horizon was quite rapidly growing in size, the first looks upon the 'ship' racing to shore would fill most onlookers with various forms of disbelief. The hull seemed to be made out of car parts. If one looked closely they could spot various rusted out pieces that were still readily identifiable as once having been car hoods, side panels and plates of scrap metal. Despite this it was curiously smooth. Asif solid pieces had quite literally blended into one another without any readily identifyable weld marks or really any sort of indication they had not been originally a single piece other then that the pieces of metal came in about two dozen diffrent shades. It looked almost like a patchwork quilt but despite that appearance it cleaved throgh the water like a knife through butter. Even more curious then that strange hull was the massive boiler and network of pipes running of the back of the 'vessel' and into the water. A huge cloud of fog was trailing the craft as steam was shot out of nozzles just bellow the surface. As a consequence the seawater too was evaporating causing a massive fog to bellow out behind the ship as it sped towards the shoreline. In front of this curious engine an old fashioned flower chair held the ships Captain. Her form was obscured by a large rain poncho with the hood drawn over their head. the only visible part of it's captain were large gleaming white metal hands gripping the steering wheel that controlled the rudder. As the bizarre contraption approached the island without any sign of slowing down, Shiori reached for a button next to the speed dial and pressed it. She had not noticed people watching her, hunger drove her forwards towards the beach. An overwhelming urge to finally find something to eat obscuring the small details from her nottice. The sides of the ship burst open as it closed on the beach. The hull splitting in half and falling away like a chick hatching from an egg shell. The two metal hull parts skipped across the sea before going under as the craft rapidly lost some of its momentum and started to sink. But at this point it was close enough to the beach that it could no longer sink entirely. Instead massive tracks dug into the sandy ocean floor and still chugging along at considerable speed the vessel thundered up onto the beach, having shed its outer skin to go from ship to a tracked vehicle that rose up out of the water as the waves broke around it. The steam boiler whistled as it chugged onto the beach like some bizarre contraption from a mad max movie, still showing no signs of slowing down! Edited by Tenka Mikazuchi, Jan 18 2018, 10:43 PM.

"Stupid, lame, jerk meanie, dumb pants..." Mairu said to himself as he walked through the dense greenery of the island, pouting all the way as he kept his hands in his pockets and trudged along as he tried to contain his anger. Honestly, he'd just been marooned and was stuck on what, he was getting pretty sure about, was an island owned by someone named Mercutio. The least Satoshi could have done was treat him at least a little but nicely, but no! He had to be yelled at and be demeaned and belittled in front of everyone by that... that... "Ass..." The word slipped out like a fire, the fox checking his tongue if it was still there. Years of stricture and manners had been ingrained into his brain so deeply the thought of speaking such a word... such a horrible mean word... Was he becoming a bad person? "...damn..." He didn't care anymore, there was no one around to tell him what to do, he'd thrown that all away once he'd left home. He was tired of acting like a good little boy for everyone, hiding his feelings, and if anyone had a problem with that well... "...damn them...." Mairu started to run, his feet crashing into dirt that slowly became sand, pulling his hood up as he held his fists tight and swore up a storm with small tears running down his face and paying no mind to direction. "Damn, shit, hell, damn it, damn it, damn this place and everyone here you all suck!" The fox ran a few more minutes before his lungs would allow him no further, stopping just short of another beach as he came to a halt, grabbing his knees and panting for air. It took a few moments but the fox managed to regain his breath, his twin tails twisting in the air behind him before voices and murmurs reached his ears. Ducking behind the shrubbery in a panic, Mairu made out two people standing on the beach talking about something. Using his keen eyes, the kit followed their line of sight just in time to see the ship before it broke apart. Thoughts of anger and abandonment left his system as he became enamored with what amounted to a ship made out of scraps, his tails wagging happily as he imagined designs and improvements he could make to the vessel and began to wonder just who was this mysterious captain. A mixture of further excitement and worry flew through the boy as he watched the vehicle break apart before a sand crawler came careening down the beach, showing no sign of stopping but exciting the hidden boy no less! |

As the dot continued to grow on the horizon, Gjöll would notice the familiar white hair girl approach. He hadn't seen Sonomi since the African Elections, though that wasn't surprising considering the insanity that had overtaken the island since then. It was nice to see a somewhat familiar face, in the sea of all the new ones. He had been intentionally antisocial for the past few years, worrying about his quirk triggering on anyone he would meet. However, Africa had shown him that he now had more control over it and he had been trying reverse those antisocial tendencies, but it was a slow process. She had come over to greet him, but cut herself off when she noticed the intruder he was brooding at. "No reason to bother Mercutio with this." He suggested to her first question. "What does it say about us as students if we rely on him to solve all our problems without trying to resolve them ourselves first? Besides who knows how long it will take to find him or found out if hes even here at the moment. We'll handle this ourselves, if we end up making enough noise I'm sure he'll show up." "If we are being less formal, you can call me Gjöll." He responded. She would make the third person, whom he had revealed his name to. Realizing that it was just about as hard to say as Feraocity he quickly added. "Merc just calls me Kiba. I've just grown to accept it by now..." He had seen definitely seen what Sonomi was capable of at the African elections, and it was incredible. "From what I understand, you are able to temporarily disable the abilities of others, correct?" He asked, lowering his volume slightly. Prior to realizing the new control he had over his own quirk, he had been momentarily excited by prospect that she could possibly help him keep it in check. "I'm not sure on the specifics, as limitations are best kept private, but I know that you were even able to affect Mercutio, which is quite a feat." "As for me: In addition to enhanced senses and some primitive adaptations," He explained, quickly flashing his fangs and pulling his tail momentarily out from underneath his robe. "The sight or smell of someone else's blood grants me enhanced physical traits, while also sending me into a blood thirsty rampage." He tried to make the last part seem very matter of fact. Trying to alleviate any uneasy he had caused he would add, "Thanks to Mercutio, I have recently got a lot better at controlling it, so that I don't have to worry about hurting friends." The small craft had made its way in quite a bit closer since they had started talking. He was able to make out a lot more of the features. The twisted contraption seemed to be some kind of "Junkyard Frankenstein's monster" of various other machines all cut apart and somehow pasted back together in the vague shape of a boat. Whomever was piloting the "boat" seemed to have a death wish, not just for charging heedlessly into waters of the mysterious new nation, but also doing so in a craft that seemed like it would fall apart if the wind stuck it too hard. The small ship would keep charging at full speed directly into the shallow waters near the shore. Maybe they really do have a death wish, he thought to himself. Just then, the ship would break apart, revealing some kind of amphibious rover that was housed within and continue forward at full speed. Gjöll had hoped they would have just crashed in the shallows, so the appearance of the rover just annoyed him that much more. "You almost have to admire their tenacity." he growled before turning to his white haired companion. "I honestly hate to ask you this," he began, trying to find Edited by Neharo, Jan 19 2018, 10:25 AM.

Sonomi was one to notice Gjöll's sudden statement about Mercutio's appearance being lack there of and their position as 'his pupils'. It wasn't that long after his response that she responded once more, but in more of a cautious manner as she smiled. "It sure has been awhile... being with Mercutio-san that is. To think we'd be even important enough to be considered his students or something more, it's truly nice." She softly said as she looked back over to him and chuckled. It was amidst all of the chaos that happened on Elysium or with its members that she honestly wouldn't of minded them being her new family. "You also have a point. We could more or less handle this ourselves if that's the case - it's not like he chose us for no reason, yeah?" She was quick to finish on the subject before using a hand of hers to adjust her glasses since they liked to wiggle off so much. "Mmm? Gjöll?" She curiously said towards the two of them as if she was making sure she was pronouncing his name correctly. It was a struggle for the first few times she said his name, but after the third, she was more or less getting the hang of it before giving him a small thumbs up. "I'll be sure to remember that, seems easy after you say it enough times - just bear with me is al.. Hm?" She was quickly stopped upon Gjöll's sudden interjection of another name, one that could of been simpler to pronounce before she raised a hand up in protest. "Ah, it's fine Gjöll. I'd prefer calling you by this than that of what Mercutio-san has called you in that sense... I see it as uh..." She stopped for a moment as she was thinking of the right term to phrase it, but it was something about his second name option that just didn't sit right with her. "Bah, it's fine - no need for the second name is all!" She placed both of her hands behind her head before keeping an eye on the ship that didn't slow down in speed. "You are correct, yes. I have the innate ability to temporarily cease a person's quirk, within limits of course." She added before noticing the volume change from the companion that still remained next to her. It couldn't be helped that the more he complimented her ability that she'd show signs of a frown before shaking her head. "I've been told that the ability I possess is highly acquired, but I've said it numerous times that I've hated my quirk. I would of stopped feeling like this if the events of what happened didn't turn out the way they did. It's because of me that they're here after all." The cold tone seamlessly seeped out before a huff shortly followed, "I'll be fine. Maybe a few more days, weeks perhaps? Being the reason for thousands of people's misguided suffering is well... It's just... hard." Her voice was surprisingly stern as she continued, almost as if she wasn't talking to Gjöll but more so herself. "Everyone blames him, brother. I just feel guilty that he's bearing all of that on his own while I've been trying to get over it. So...." "One day. I want to tell them what truly happened that day at the elections." Both of her hands moved from her head and towards her hips as she awaited his turn to divulge his quirk properties. The white haired girl hadn't even noticed someone else showing up, her thoughts too disheveled to do the one thing that she'd been used to doing - curiously checking her surroundings. Sonomi let most of his explanation go through before allowing an input on her part, her eyes catching the glimpse of his fangs and tail while she gave a small nod. "Don't worry about my reaction, your quirk isn't any different than mine or anyone else's here. If I am understanding this right, you need blood to be spilt in order to get physically stronger?" She began before arching a eyebrow of hers and letting the breeze brush past her hair. "Some sort of... blood lust quirk? I have an understanding that since being in the care of Mercutio-san, you've gotten better at controlling yourself?" She continued before smiling and shaking her head towards him as her voice grew more sincere, "Don't worry, if anything was to happen - I'll see to it that you're under control while being in my care. I haven't known you long, but I feel as if I have a duty to uphold now." She finished before seeing out of the corner of her eye that the ship had been acting quiet strange. The ship had given the image that it'd been collapsing, which would of relaxed the girl if it hadn't been for an even smaller contraption to be spit out and heading at an increasing speed. Whoever was on the boat was either stupid, strong, or completely desperate for human contact and presented nothing but ignorance. This didn't mean it'd discourage the white haired girl to at least comment in agreement to boy who stood beside her."Oh... Their tenacity sure is admirable. I wonder what they mean to accomplish once they get to shore." Sonomi thought aloud between the two of them before she caught the full glare that Gjöll had been giving her. He had been awkwardly presented in front of her as he was trying to explain his quirk a second time, something that confused the girl at first as she'd fully understood the first time. "Yeah, you told me ab- Hmm?" She watched as his gauntlet bared claws stored within them before he continued in short that the blood loss just had to be abysmally small. It was then that she realized and chuckled, a hand of hers raising up her shirt partially to reveal the extensive bite scars that were from her training. "I know what you're asking and I'm fine with it. I've been through worse, yeah? Just don't worry about what happens afterwards - we're a team now." She nodded before pulling her shirt down and extending the same arm towards him in wait for his next action. "Take your time, you do it when you feel the time is right." She finished before looking over at the approaching rover that was sure to land on shore soon if the two of them didn't do something. |

God of Destruction

The view from above the island was becoming a truly beautiful sight, if he could see it... but the energies that now danced around his once empty shell of a home were beautiful all on their own. The recent events truly were bringing about a turn chapter of Mercutio unlike that of the years before. After Africa, after the death of nearly all Elysium's populaces' parents, family and friends... Mercutio was able to speak with the orphaned many and show them all the truth... The Crimson Fucker showed and told them what he did and why and where the world would have went without it. He gave the best explanation and didn't cut corners explaining Oni. He let him meet people from the Gala Event whom he rescued from Oni himself, who Mercutio was brave or foolish enough to fight alone. He gave them all the store of Adrestia. He explained why he had no left arm and mentioned that Oni was the reason he had no sight and the feats he has taken on in order to perfect the world for people who will never know or care about his name... he thought. He told the Orphans, the Elyisan people he was sorry, but he told them he would do his best to make up for the lost. In return for his mistreatment, he swore he'd give them the life he could best supply and the freedom of a world that would otherwise pressure them. On Elysium, they were truly with only a small few rules to follow. It felt like he was walking about the clouds for a few hours, and he very well could have been. Mercutio was an ideas kind of guy and he tended to pace when he was think. After perfecting his ability to walk on air, the high skies were one of his fondest place to think; this, coupled with the fact he loved being able to speak out loud and not worry about his words being heard; after all, he was famous for rants. He was not a huge man of hands on science, he didn't build nor invent and the biggest factor to his intelligence was seeded in his natural ability to play instruments and read music. Sadly, it was one of the only things he could do and for a long time he didn't appreciate that fact. This add to one of the many reasons he loved manga so much, and the reason he fell in love with Alana; the Art was beautiful. Nonetheless, Mercutio found himself waiting for someone he had been seeking out for a long time, ever since he saw her abstract cybernetic limbs. He wasn't sure if they were armor plating or not, but she was a force to watch many years ago and he knew after her Sports Festival performance that she would be perfect fight for Adrestia. Shiori was and would be their tinkerer and he would finally have his Franky. A smile curled his lips as he saw Shiori skirting across the white capped waters on her way in and he began his free-fall drop. Thankfully for everyone involved, he chose to land on her run away machine for a dynamic entry. "Finally." he muttered as he walked out of the smoke and debris, his cloak was wrapped round him as usual with only his bare feet being seen just barely beneath that as he walked on the sand; walking on the ground only ever of his Home Land... plus the warm sand felt greet. "Sonomi, go on and tend to the others and keep the twins out of the snacks..." he instructed, point towards the center of Alana off in the distance. "Stand down, Gjoll... I invited her here." he said with a smile that couldn't be seen. Gjoll may be surprised by Mercutio already adorn in a Gas Mask but would pull it off as soon as she saw had time to piece together what was going on and asked, "Remember me?" A devilish smile grew from ear to ear as his Crimson Soul raged wildly around him. Without lifting a finger, a joint drifted out from within his jacket, slipping up to his lip and lighting spontaneously. He took a gentle drag and exhaled with another question. "Find us pretty easily?" |

As the now tracked ship made landfall it became quite apparent that the last spurt she had put it through to brave the waves around the island had been to much for the clunker. The boiler was whistling dangerous and as she tried to slam on the break lever she merely ended up with a broken of lever in her gauntlet covered hand. It had then and there become nothing but a dangerous runaway steam bomb. The only sensible thing to do then was to jump it before it exploded with her still on it. She made rough contact with the sand, rolling head over heels before coming to a stop in the sand. Fortunately for her, it seemed. Because not a moment later something or someone fell from the sky right on top of what had once been a ship and stopped the runaway machine in it's tracks. The boiler ruptured and send steam billowing out all around setting the stage for a familiar mask to make a dramatic entry from amidst the smoke and rubble of what had turned out to be her one way ticket onto this Island. She clambered to her feet with what dignity she could muster, as if this had been all as intended. She tossed the broken off brake lever over her shoulder where it disappeared with a plopping sound underneath the waves and used her metal hands to dust the beach off her rain poncho. Shiori smirked underneath the hood as he removed his mask and returned the gesture in kind, taking hold of the sides of the hood covering her face and lowering it towards her shoulders. She took a moment to look over the man casually standing in front of her as if he had not just descended like a meteor from the sky and wrecked a tank sized vehicle just by landing on it. As far as entries went he certainly had a distinct advantage over her. Now was not the time to stare and be impressed though, just play it cool and don't show you're intimidated she thought to herself. There was ever so slight a tremor in her voice as she spoke but she gave a valiant effort to keep her composure and sound airily as she spoke. "It's hard to forget someone who saved my life and that of my friends." Rather, it was hard to forget that mask. It had been a while since she had last seen this man in a moment of need. At the time she had had nothing but gratitude for him saving her, Gale sand Juba from a Lunatic. That gratitude had turned into troubled unease when the news that same night declared that an unknown assailant had murdered that very same lunatic right in front of the police. Morality was a grey thing though, in a way it had certainly been justice. The so called victim had after all tried to kill three young impressionable and quite frankly defenceless students. In the months that followed this man had grown from an unknown rescuer into a celebrated hero though, so when she had gotten his invitation she had at first been elated, then she had felt honoured and troubled aswell by trying to reconcile what she knew with the heroes image he had build up. She had left UA because she no longer believed in the values of heroism that had degraded along wityh the entire worlds morality. A traumatic incident that had earned her a fresh scar on her mind and another metal arm to replace one violent ripped of had certainly changed her outlook on life. She had travelled the world to find her own path, her own answers for what it meant to be a hero and how the heroes that were supposed to protect her had failed so miserably. Always keeping that letter with her, waiting, pondering if she should accept it. At the end of a long road though, she had come to a decision. Justice was it's own end, the road there not always pretty but at the very least this man was truly free, truly followed his beliefs to the end. And that was all she needed. A cause backed not by greed, not by convenience, but absolute ideals. So she had come. That journey of self realisation had certainly left it's mark on her. But it looked like his own road had not been an easy one either. "I took a detour across Asia and the United States to figure out some things, to prepare myself and find an answer to whether I was ready, but in the end my road led here. It wasn't easy, though a little hunger doesn't look like it compares to what you had to go through." Her eyes looked him over. His arm was gone and he wasn't quite meeting her eyes even though she looked straight at him. He certainly had his own troubles leading up to this moment. She wondered if she should... no, there would be time for that later. Now she had other concerns. She took a breath and took a step forward and held out her hand towards Mercutio. "I'm here, if you still want me." Edited by Tenka Mikazuchi, Jan 23 2018, 06:55 AM.

Interest had grown into worry as it appeared the intriguing vessel was well and truly out of control, its lone passenger electing to jump free of the crawler as the boiler within began to whistle in a very unpleasant way. While the pair on the beach seemingly spoke calmly about the matter, Mairu could only grow more and more tense as it seemed a collision was inevitable. Bracing himself for an impact with the nearest rock, the cub found his preparations a second too late as the vehicle came to a premature halt. A man had dropped straight from the sky and stopped the sand demon in its tracks! ...No, this wasn't just any man. He'd seen him on the news somewhere before... this was actually Mercutio Regalis, leader of Elysium! He didn't know too much about the man beyond the fact that he was important and wherever he showed up trouble seemed to follow. The boy's eyes widened in surprise as Mercutio began to talk with the controller of the transforming vehicle, acting like old friends. He'd been under the assumption as the other two islanders, one of whom had been sent off, who had assumed this was an attack of sorts. Yet they were talking about... well something... While the boy's ears were definitely a cut above the rest, the lack of proper echo, roaring waves and the concussive force of Mercutio's crash had made things a bit hard to make out. Forgetting he was but half a beach's length away from the most powerful man in the world, Jackson scooted a forward a tad, creeping just out of the shrubbery to see if he could make out what they were saying. Snooping wasn't a favorable pass time of his, but perhaps if he heard the right words, he might be able to make good use of his time on the island, and even learn a thing or two from a certain someone... |

The boy silently nodded in response to Sonomi's acceptance of his request. He would note the scars she revealed. Gjöll remembered her mentioning Mercutio having them fight sharks the first time they had met, during the aftermath of the Gala. The thought had really never crossed is mind that the sharks would fight back or that they were capable of doing such damage. The physical tenacity that those scars proved she had and the powerful quirk she had at her disposal both increased the confidence Gjöll had in his companion. Whomever their mysterious trespasser was, they were going to regret their decision for the rest of their life, however short that may be. "Hold on now.." Gjöll cautioned as he noticed a high pitch whistle erupt from the strange junk rover that was heading up the beach. He lowered his gauntlet for moment and carefully watched the actions of the pilot. After a few moments of frantic movement, they decided to abandon ship. His instincts had been correct; something had been wrong with the abomination of engineering. As he watched the pilot tumble away from their vehicle, he opted for a change of plan: with the intruder now on the ground, they were a much more accessible target. As they were for more vulnerable than before, Gjöll decided that he would use their blood, instead of Sonomi's, even if it was just a small cut. He would charge towards them, only getting a few steps in before the boiler ruptured and Mercutio made his entrance. The boy would disregard the glimpse of something descending from the sky that flickered at the edge of his vision. He instead chose to keep his gaze fixated on the would be intruders location even as the steam erupted around them, listening for any sound of movement. He could feel his inner beast pushing him forward, urging him to hunt and butcher the trespasser. Mercutio's familiar voice would snap him back out of the trance. Shaking his head slightly, he would turn to face the man, nodding in response to his command. After the steam cleared he would notice the gas mask the man had chosen to bring. His choice of accessory would only surprise Gjöll for a moment, as Mercutio was known for showing up with a variety of strange objects and outfits. "Told ya." he joked to Sonomi as she left. "Make enough noise and he's bound to show up. Hell we didn't even get to do anything." Gjöll sighed, again shaking his head again slightly, as he walked over to stand on Mercutio's left side. "Try to give us a heads up next time you are expecting guests." he would request jokingly. "I would feel really guilty if I tore apart someone with an invitation, because they appear to be trespassing. Most people you invite come via "house", so I'm sure you can understand the confusion." What had he called her here for anyway? |

God of Destruction

Mercutio passed a bit as he listen absently whilst his mind wandered in thought before snapping into a conversation in response to Shiori, "Yes, yes. I surely haven't touched what we've talked about. The electrical or geothermal whatever the hell you went on about is all yours." he explained, waving a hand away at her as he drifted towards town. "The core of the island is about a mile inland, let's go." he muttered before speaking at Gjoll. "Is there anything you want to ask or say, Gjoll." he asked curiously, sensing his aura a bit off from how it usually was, or different. Mercutio wasn't sure because his quirk was a mutation and his want for knowledge would make him push the questioning. A cross-examination based lecture was surely to ensue. Though, Mercutio was smoking currently, he could just be a bit high. Without turning to the young boy, he called out to the furry. "Oi, Sonic-fandom-guy. Where did you find that bush and why were you hiding in it?" he asked casually snatching him as he walked away. [Exit] |

"Your putting a lot of faith in me, I'll do my best to get you the things you want altough maybe next time I might skip the explanations. I know I tend to ramble if it's about science. You just tell me the end goal you want and I'll do my best to get you a result we'll both like." Shiori scratched the back of her head and gave an embarrassed smile as her new benefactor told her that she could go ahead with the ideas she had presented. He did act as if it had all went over his head but she wasn't quite sure if he was as clueless as he presented here. Perhaps acting like he did not quite understand what she had been saying was some kind of test but she found it hard to believe that he was quite that clueless and yet still managed to do all the things he had. Perhaps a lesson could be drawn from here to always be more then you seem to be. If people underestimate everything you can do, then they are more likely to make mistakes. She gave a small nod as he told her they should head out because they still had a ways to walk, even if he did not use so many words. She really hoped that 'Inland' came with a meal though. Adrenaline was keeping her going right now after the little misadventure getting her but the feeling her stomach was gnawing itself was only forgotten for a moment, it had not disappeared. He then addressed the boy that had joined them under the cover of the scalding fog that her once proud creation had spouted into the air as Mercutio's entry demolished it. She had heard him before the fog had cleared but now her eyes glanced sideways to look at the one he addressed. Her eyes looked him down, for a moment. Gjoll... Gnoll no maybe Goll? The name Mercutio addressed him by was tongue twister to her either way. A teenager from the looks of it, unremarkable in build. He wore the same robe as Mercutio did. It signified that the boy was probably far more dangerous then his appearance gave him credit for but she couldn't help but recognise the inspiration, a fact that elicited a snicker from her. Unfortunately her observation of the source of their robes just happened to coincide with him saying that Mercutio should announce his guests before they arrived, so that this Gjoll wouldn't rip them apart. Though entirely unintentional the realisation that Mercutio was still a bit of an anime fanboy through their robes coincided with the boys veiled threat and it could easily be mistaken as her scoffing at his ability to do so. Fortunatly though, it seemed that Mercutio had found one more person that shouldn't have been around. Her cheeks reddened a bit at the realisation she might have just insulted someone unintentionally so she quickly leapped onto this opportunity for distraction. He had said someone was hiding in a bush so her eyes snapped from Gjöll's robes towards the nearby shrubbery as she focused to look and find whatever it was Mercutio had seen. There.. halfway out of the bushes wait.... was that? She took her strides resolutely forwards. Her eyes focusing on the bush and the orbs of amber gold lit up as the beach around the boy listening to them started to deform. The sand was shifting underneath the shrubbery causing it to part ways. It was asif the ground beneath it turned to water and flowed aside without ceasing to be solid ground. Even so, something was a little off though. Her quirk was having a hard time moving the soil to part the shrubbery and the gesture was far less spectacular then she had hoped. Was it hunger or maybe the ground here was different somehow? It didn't quite matter, a few more steps and she reached the would be listener and picked him up from between the altered shrubbery with the ease of a six foot amazon picking up a child. A description not far off from the reality of the situation. What followed next though was... more unexpected perhaps. She well.. hugged the boy like you might a teddybear, letting out a very girlish squee, in that sort of cute way that was perhaps unexpected for a girl of her size and appearance. She continued this for perhaps a moment to long before holding the boy up under his arms and towards Mercutio. "Your right! he DOES kind of look like Miles Tails Prower doesn't he? He's adorable, can I keep him?" Edited by Tenka Mikazuchi, Feb 7 2018, 02:19 AM.

Taller than You

Mairu was near instantly spooked to death as the conversation between the trio turned on him in an instant, the child not expecting have been called out by a world leader until he'd made the world's biggest TV so they could hang out. Mercutio was not on this list of world leaders, given the fact that he was a little scary and seemed more like a music kinda guy. The cub was wrong in this aspect as well, however, as it seemed Mercutio was on the up and up on videogames as well, calling him out as "Sonic-fandom-guy" and asking him why he was hiding away. Too flustered over being caught red handed and having a nickname dropped on him, the child began to step back out of instinct, finding quickly that the ground behind him was not in the same shape he'd left it before and instead fell right on his keester. Momentarily winded, the twin-tailed tyke rubbed his rear, only to perk up upon hearing the light thud of footsteps. Mairu's worries had apparently only started as it seemed someone was keen on snuffing the boy out of his hidey hole and bringing him to justice. It seemed to be the owner of the strange yet intriguing amphibious vehicle, more womanly shapes becoming clearer as she approached the boy as he grew at least a little bit excited about meeting a fellow inventor. An odd thing happened as she approached, however, as it seemed the closer she got the bigger she appeared until she was standing directly over the flattened tyke and making him look near straight up. Taking all matters into account, it didn't take Mairu long to figure out that this stranger was even taller than Haru! And Haru was tall for a boy! An ice cold, but somewhat gentle grip forced a yip from the child's mouth, feeling like a plucked vegetable as he was raised into the air before being squeezed between a soft chest and metallic arms that held a vice-like grip. Following this a voice, whose pitch was not befitting a half metal creature the height of some door frames, completed Mercutio's reference of Mairu being a ringer for a certain famous fox as she squeeze him deeper into her torso and more air out of his lungs. The mention of the word "adorable", however, was what really set the boy off. Having had enough of being babied, the boy squeezed his small arms through what little space he was afforded as he mumbled into the the girl's clothing, "I'm not cute! I'm a boy and boys are cool and awesome, only girls... are... cute!" With a heave, Mairu managed to push about half his body over the girl's shoulder, while leaving his hips and lower trapped. It wasn't optimal, but it was progress. Having been emberassed out of his shock, the child was finally able to respond to Mercutio saying with some shyness, "H-Hi! I'm just Mairu, and I only found the bush! I was hidin cause... well loud noises were comin from here and I wanted to check 'em out... And well cause..." Taking a deep sigh and realizing that the famed inventor might squeeze what was left of him out if he delivered this news too quickly, the boy stated, "I really like making stuff and I've never had the chance to make something real big, and when I saw you and her, I thought maybe I could... you know... help..." From there the boy waited, twiddling his thumbs as his fate was put in the hands of Mercutio, wondering if the guy would even take a kid in his position seriously. |

"No, no questions." Gjöll replied in response to Mercutio's question. "If she's here at your request, it's most likely for the overall betterment of the Island. You should know by now, I fully trust your judgement." He did have some more personal things about his quirk that he wanted to discuss with Mercutio: like the fact that he had been seconds away from intentionally triggering his blood lust only moments ago. Before he had met Mercutio a year and a half ago, even the slightest idea of losing control like that would have shook him to his very core. It was only because of the trials that man had put him through that he had gained the confidence in himself and control over his quirk that he had now. However, this was not the time nor the place to bring up such a discussion. Gjöll would indeed assume that the young woman was snickering at his suggestion of tearing guests apart. The only thing he would do in response was roll his eyes. People were entitled to their pride after all. He had not meant the comment as any type of derogatory remark against her, just a statement of what he would have attempted to do had, Mercutio not intervened. Appearances could be deceiving, for all he knew the woman's combat prowess could far exceed his own. Given the contraption she had chosen and quite possibly made for her voyage to Elysium it was quite clear her technological knowledge far dwarfed his own. Having spent far too much time around Mercutio and his unique sense of fashion that fact that she was laughing at the groups choice of wardrobe wouldn't remotely cross his mind. Gjöll would snap his gaze in the direction of the bush that Mercutio called out to. He had been so focused on the new guest coming to the island he hadn't even remotely noticed that they were being watched. A small fox-like child tumbled backwards out of the bush, seemingly surprised that he had been noticed. 'One of the orphans?' He would incorrectly assume to himself. In all the weeks following the return from Africa, Gjöll hadn't noticed this one. Sure he hadn't had chance to actually meet and interact with all of the orphans, but the fox had such a unique look to him, Gjöll was sure that he would have remembered the kid. How had he managed to stay so under the radar? The kid did bare a striking resemblance to a character Gjöll vaguely remembered from a video game he had played as a child. He would make note of it, as Mercutio's references often lead to nicknames that could stick for quite a while. He would look back at the wreckage of Shiori's faithful vessel, pieces of scrap large and small scattered across the beach. "Well I'm sure you two have plenty of plans to talk about and go over." he sighed. "I'm going to see if I can round up a few extras to disassemble and salvage what they can from the wreckage. Don't know if anything there is reusable, but metal is not the easiest thing to come by at the moment, so at worst case we can have Sato melt it down for scrap. Either way we have to get it off the beach." He would give a slight wave as a good bye before darting off to find some orphan "volunteers" to work on the clean up. [Exit Thread] |
