Gabrielle sat, her legs pulled close as she looked past the cliffside and out to the wide open sea beyond. She'd walked far across the coastline and no matter where she looked she didn't see any boats or even a dock that could take her away and back home. After all that had happened she was surprised she was still alive; she'd thought that the man who she now knew was named Mercutio was going to kill them all, but from what she'd seen only a couple of people had died. Her English wasn't great and she was only really fluent in French so Gabrielle had found it very difficult to communicate with the others so she'd been for the most part keeping to herself as she tried to figure out a way home.

"They're waiting for me.. I need to get back.

She muttered to herself as she watched the empty horizon. Her father was dead but her brother and sister were still out there, probably in foster care or something by now. Gabrielle hoped that they were still together, at least. Though she wondered what would even happen to her once she returned. Would they be separated? Gabrielle herself was only 13 and she'd heard of siblings being separated after losing their parents. She just hoped that wouldn't happen to them.

Sitting in the grass she began to idly create small sculptures with her ice. She'd learned to control her quirk so as to make finer details when she was young and she enjoyed showing her father the different pieces of art she'd made over the years. Well, there was no chance of being able to do that again even if she did make it back to France one day. Gabrielle felt tears begin to well up but wiped her eyes dry. She'd decided she wasn't going to cry any more. She had to be strong.

Soon a small collection of various sculptures surrounded the girl. They were mostly animals - things like deer, cats, and foxes. She felt a bit more relaxed just looking at them. It was somewhat chilly and the wind blew easily at the cliffside so the sculptures wouldn't melt for a little while. Gabrielle sat back and sighed, looking out to the ocean once more.

Samori through all her trials and errors, had probably made the worse mistake in her life time to this day. Samori sitting against a tree, far away from the inner part of the island, in a closed off part of the cliffside. Stitches went across her neck as if she felt like there was a noose around her neck. Samori, touching her scar, like as if it was a reminder that she lost a fight and that reminder was forever stuck on her body now. But even with the scar, she couldn't feel any remorse, nor regret, sadness, and nothing even close to anger. But yet when thinking about it, she wanted to bawl while sure it was purely just a scar, a scar of a past experience. It was still a past experience a past experience that she'd failed push on, though the scar was a proving fact that she was living today. From the scar, she wasn't able to talk due to the scar though apparently she'd be able to perfectly talk in the future after she recovered from it. But at the moment, she was fine to be fairly honest, a simple pencil and paper was okay with her. From what Samori heard apparently, the girl had managed to get a tiny piece of her laryngeal nerve in her neck, from that sliver of nerve she wasn't majorly capable of talking for at least for a couple days at the maximum. Samori could have talked if she really wanted to but her voice sounded a tad bit higher pitch and breathy to an extent. Though from the injury at her neck, Samori learned how fragile the human body could be. She herself was lucky even to survive the dagger from the girl.

The scar she got was technically an accident from what she heard to be completely honest, or at least Samori felt like it. They were stuck in a illusion, outside of that illusion apparently the other people fiddled with each other and even attacked each other apparently. From that she managed to gain the scar. As Samori rethought all about what has happened in the past days, she slowly got sick thinking about it. To counter this Samori got up from the tree she sat underneath and got up and began to walk around the coastline, she could have drawn, but it would've probably put her in a keep in the same situation she was currently in.

As she walked she slowly saw a girl in a distance, Samori at a unknowing desire walked over to her. As Samori got closer she begin to notice the ice sculptures around her, Samori realizing this she continue forward anyways, Samori putting aside her inner emotions she walked up to the girl. Samori simply pulled herself, she couldn't stand the girl just sitting there be herself. Due to this Samori, walked over to her standing and before taking a seat next to her. Than sitting down beside the girl, looking at the ocean.

Pulling out her notepad and pencil that she stole from Mercutio's house without him noticing. (fodder items, E-rank) Samori writing down something simple on her notepad.

"Mind if I take a seat? Also nice ice sculptures."

Samori finishing the sentence writing it in English. she would try to get Gabrielle attention quietly. If Gabrielle saw the message there would be a simple doodle at the bottom of the notepad's page ( '3')b" Samori already taking a seat as if inviting herself into the small girl's world. Samori would also look at the ocean, her pencil and notepad in hand simply waiting and listening for what the girl would say. Samori's scar being pretty dang noticable to Gabrielle despite the setting.

Lost in her own thoughts, Gabrielle didn't even notice Samori come up behind her until she was right there. She was surprised to see her; she knew that the girl had survived their fight but as far as Gabrielle knew she was being treated in the hospital. She was glad to see that the girl was alive and well, but she also had no idea what to say. What do you say to somebody who you tried your hardest to kill?

Gabrielle looked lower and saw that the mermaid was holding a notebook and had written a message in English. It took her a moment to translate in her mind but when she figured out what it said she nodded a little bit hesitantly. "Ah, yes if you want to.." As the girl sat Gabrielle noticed the fresh scar across the length of her neck. Seeing it made her remember their fight and how ruthless she herself had become. It made Gabrielle feel sick thinking how she'd actually tried to kill this girl.

"Um.. I'm sorry. For the cut. It will be okay?"

She emphasized by drawing a line across her own throat, trying her best to get her message across. Gabrielle still hadn't much of an idea what she should say to the girl but she thought this was a good start. Since the girl was using the notebook to communicate she assumed that she wasn't able to speak, making Gabrielle feel all the more guilty. Turning back to the girl she spoke again.

"I am Gabrielle. From France. What about you?"

Samori sat next to her, seeing the girl who fought against her being so calm. Even if the girl had a slight bit of hesitation when telling her she could sit down, she was fine with it. Which was honestly understandable, she wouldn't want somebody to hate her in the same situation there both in. Though, it was quite a refreshing feeling to be honest since they no longer had to be enemies. Even than Samori's time in the hospital wasn't all that bad to be honest. While it wasn't the best hospital obviously due to the natural conditions of how the island is run. It was fine with her due to how hard it would be just to get a hospital running on this island.

Samori seeing Gabrielle look at her scar, The scar felt inexpressible for own sake after she gained the scar. Back when she was in the hospital she had too many expressions for her to handle. Essentially becoming a unstoppable sobbing mess filled with gut wrenching emotions. Though as the days went on that she was stuck in the hospital. She lost those feelings in a way that wasn't in a negative or positive way, but in a open-minded way at the minimum that's what she understood it in her own way. Gabrielle talking to her about her scar, she took a wink to translate it through her Japanese head. Than shortly after scribbling down on her notepad with her pencil. Samori understanding at what she's getting at.

"No, no, you're fine~! We were both brunt at the time but if you're wondering about the scar, I should be back up to talking in a few days, maximum is a week. I'm pretty lucky that i'm alive, though! Trust me, i'm fine, You shouldn't worry about me! I'm totally fine thanks to the goose!

Samori flipping over the tiny notepad's page after she had read it, ready to continue on with writing some more. The girl began to talk more, talking about her name and where she was from. Gabrielle continuing on with the conversation which was great despite the situation, how depressing the two of them were."My name is Samori, I come from Japan. If you have anything you would like to ask me go on, don't be shy!" She would than show her Gabrielle the notepad with a smile on her face. Trying to make her feel better. While waiting for her to speak Samori would look down at her nicely made ice sculptures she made.

Gabrielle sat and waited as the girl began writing on her notebook again. Every time the pen hit the paper she felt guilty. Even after reading what the girl wrote she still felt it was her fault that the girl was in such a state. She wondered what goose she was talking about, was the doctor an X-Form of some kind? It didn't really matter, but Gabrielle smiled very slightly at the thought of a goose running around mending people. Now that she thought about it she remembered seeing what looked like a goose running around the battlefield when they were fighting the crimson man. Remembering that fight brought her frown back and Gabrielle sighed.

She read the girl's name and nodded to her. "It is good to meet you, Samori. I am sorry our first meeting was so.. unfriendly." She remembered the terrified and desperate look on Samori's face during their fight. Gabrielle thought her current smile was much more suiting for the mermaid. She thought about what else she should ask the girl. "Then.. were you kidnapped by that man as well? If so, do you know why?"

Gabrielle had a pretty good idea of why she herself had been kidnapped. She'd been there at the African Elections and had watched as the man slaughtered the crowd of people including her own father. She hadn't been sure, but looking around at the many people that had fought alongside her against that same man she'd noticed they were all pretty young. She didn't want to think about it, but Gabrielle thought they might have been the children of the people he'd killed. In order to confirm her suspicions Gabrielle waited to hear what Samori said.

Noticing Samori looking at her sculptures, Gabrielle held her hand out and focused. Quickly, ice began to emerge from her palm, amorphous and shapeless at first but soon it began to take form. Lines etched themselves into the ice and features started appearing. Soon, Gabrielle found herself holding a small replica of a beautiful young woman with the tail of a fish. Looking back at Samori she offered it to her, looking a little bit embarrassed.

Smiling at Gabrielle holding the notepad up, Samori obviously knew the girl had to be guilty of the scar. No one could just say sorry after causing somebody a possible near death experience. It was like saying sorry after shooting a person in the knee-cap. Than after he shot him the dude would say sorry and than say whoops just because he saw you as a different person or just something like that... Samori slowly stopped thinking of the metaphor, as it was getting overly complicated and a tad bit extreme for any human to think about. Though as she thought about the situation, Samori just wanted to hug the girl and say that it was perfectly okay. It generally wasn't her fault and she was forced into that way of thinking because she was dragged into it from what it had seemed to Samori.

Gabrielle began to spoke back to her, Gabrielle bringing up their first meeting in the process. Samori went straight to the notepad's paper as she finished the sentence. "Good to meet you too~! Trust me you're fine, I don't blame you just because of what happen, don't blame yourself." Samori a good thirty seconds, before she continued to talk again bringing up how she got kidnapped. "No clue, I was brought here, than I was forced to deal with you during that weird experience, but I honestly don't know why he brought me though, i'm just a simple mermaid. All I can remember is that there was a huge light of red, my father got vaporized and he died right before I passed out. Didn't even get to say goodbye to him. I'm lucky, right before he gave me his favorite wrestling shirt. I've been wearing it since, I haven't changed shirts nor let anyone touch it, despite being covered in my own blood. Samori showing the full page of what she wrote down. After letting her read, she gave a shrug to Gabrielle. Than flipping the notepad to a new page. Her shirt bloodied, the front of the t-shirt has the face of Macho Man, Randy Savage. The shirt saying "OOOH YEAH!" her father being a huge fan of wrestling stars, he was also a wrestler himself. Which made the shirt all the more precious to her due to this was the last thing she was given from her father before she died.

Shirt Design

Samori would move on continuing to look at the ice sculptures until Gabrielle made one right in front of her, Samori found it pretty interesting though. Seeing her etch lines, those lines becoming apart of the sculpture and making a nice sculpture of mermaid sculpture. The girl than offering it to Samori, she gladly accepted it, looking at it calmly and looking at all the intricate details she made despite only taking a few minutes. She really enjoyed it, wanting to keep it, she placed it in the grass for now, making sure it was in the proper place so it didn't melt. After placing it down she would move her hand over back to her pencil, grabbing it and ready to continue on the conversation. Sorta feeling happy and gleamful despite the horrible situation, but she hadn't been able to actually have a conversation with anyone for awhile which made her quite joyful.

Gabrielle leaned forward to read Samori's newest message. It took her almost a full minute to translate it in her mind and understand what was being said but she finally understood. "Mm, it is a very nice shirt." She commented on the t-shirt before sitting back, contemplating what she'd heard. If this 'huge light of red' was who she thought it was then everything was finally starting to make sense. She let Samori finish looking at the ice sculpture before she spoke up again.

"Actually.. my father was killed in a flash of red light as well. I think.. the same might be true for everybody here. We are all orphans."

Gabrielle felt a chill rush down her spine at her own words. Was that what they all had in common? Thinking about it, Gabrielle thought that not only had they all lost their parents to the man but considering the wide range of nationalities she saw, she thought it was more than likely that they had all been killed at the elections in Africa. She wondered just how much of this the others knew. Since she hadn't had much chance to talk with them along with the slight language barrier, Gabrielle had no idea if this was common knowledge on the island or not. Either way, she was glad to have figured that much out herself.

Looking out to the sea, Gabrielle watched as the sun began to set. "So what now? It seems that man is not planning to kill us, correct? I wonder if he will let us go home someday.. If he does, I will make sure the world knows what he has done." She thought it was unlikely they'd ever be able to get home but she knew the first thing she'd do if she did was to find her brother and sister. Once she did that she'd go straight for the nearest news station and spread the word of the man's deeds. Surely everybody in the world already knew about what happened at the elections, but Gabrielle wasn't sure if they'd know about the orphans from that event being kidnapped and forced to fight.

"Samori, do you know the man who took us here? I think I have seen him on television but I don't remember his name."

Having had time to think about it Gabrielle had realized she'd seen the man in the media before. She thought he was some sort of important figure from Japan but that's all she could really remember. If he was famous then it might be hard to reveal the truth about him, not to mention that people might not listen to a young girl like her. But she had to at least try.

Samori waited for Gabrielle to speak. Reading the message she wrote down on the notepad, while Samori patiently holding it up for Gabrielle to read. Than commenting on the shirt her father gave to her. While waiting for to speak, she looked at the ice sculpture. Gabrielle speaking up again, talking about the kids here in general that they we're all orphans. Samori felt confused, if they we're all here because of they were orphans, why not just make it so they could no longer remember what happened at the election. If they have the power to completely destroy an election. Than they should have the power to erase memories. Theses ideas rushed to Samori's mind. Why couldn't they just do those things. Samori knew theses things wouldn't happen, no matter how hard she thought or wish, they couldn't nor wouldn't do so. A harsh truth that Samori was faced to accept, An inevitable truth.

A little bit after hearing her talk about her father she went back to writing on her notepad. "I'm sorry that your father died..." Showing Gabrielle her notepad after hearing that. It was a little bit saddening but there was nothing she could do about it, other than try and help out Gabrielle and push her forward and continue on living. This was life, keep your head up and push onward. Nothing to do but that and when it gets to those depressing times, you continue to press on. Whether you can take the damage or not.

Gabrielle continued to speak to her, joining her in watching the sunset as it slowly begins to turn to night. She wrote down on her notepad "You're speaking to the wrong girl about this, I don't know who he is, I've probably seen him once or twice but I haven't actually met him in person and actually spoken to him. If anything since everybody wants to escape including myself, if I was him and I wouldn't let him do, I mean, Just think about, would you let off somebody who can possibly destroy your entire career would you do so?"

Putting down her pencil and showing it to Gabrielle. Samori couldn't really understand everybody, Not out of confusion or anything, she didn't really get confused that often or could have been confused by anybody at that matter of fact. Samori already consider that he was the most potential candidate to kill her father from what she's heard from the survivors from the apparent fights due to the those illusions but she just couldn't come to the fact to hate that person. Why would such a person do such a thing, other than the fact for killing people. I mean if he wasn't a villain why would he do so? She slowly let that thing go to aside pushing the idea away from her mind, she wanted to change the topic but she couldn't. But Gabrielle pushed the topic on-wards. She grabbed her pencil and notepad once again writing away at her notepad, filling the page. "I mean- I have no clue I wish I knew but I just wishing isn't gonna help, I just sorta wanna... not think about it to be honest. Just alot of things i'm currently dealing with at the moment. But I understand why you want to figure out. You have no right to be ashamed of what your doing so don't put yourself down, you've done good and you have strong will, keep at things. Just make sure you enjoy life every once in a while." Samori didn't let out any tears, she just sat there quietly, moving back and laying on the ground, putting her hands on her head and looking up at the sky, seeing the sky.

"I understand you're also going through alot of things and I completely understand. Just I mean we're dealing with possibly the one who possibly killed our parents. It's a lot to think about. I don't know who he is all I know is that my father and mother are dead, I have nobody to turn to and i'm stuck on a island. Samori trying to put it lightly, but her writing really couldn't emphasize it since they were merely words, and they couldn't contain feelings or different ways of speech.

Gabrielle exhaled sadly but nodded when Samori brought up the fact that the man wasn't likely to just let them off the island knowing what they know. As they had no clue where they even were they'd probably have to rely on him getting them out of there and it didn't make any sense to believe he actually would, so Gabrielle was feeling an ever-creeping sense of despair. Though this mounting dread was quelled slightly when she read Samori's next words and she gave a tentative smile to the girl. It wasn't much, but knowing someone was still there for her despite all that had happened made Gabrielle feel a little more confident that she'd be able to return home someday.

"I'll try.. thank you Samori." Gabrielle stood up and began gathering up her sculptures, absorbing them into her body one by one. They were going to melt anyway and she didn't want to just waste the water she'd used to create them. Though she didn't touch the mermaid sculpture she'd made for Samori. "And do not say you have nobody to turn to. As long as we are trapped here you can always come and speak with me." When she first arrived on the island Gabrielle had felt completely and utterly alone with the loss of her father. But now she at least felt she had somebody to confide in.

Once she finished cleaning up her works Gabrielle offered her arm to Samori to help her up. "It is getting dark. I do not know if it is safe for us to be here at night. Shall we go?" The island wasn't particularly rich in forests so they could see pretty far in the distance but Gabrielle had no idea what sorts of animals lived here. For all she knew there'd be a pack of crimson wolves charging them at any minute. She'd found she'd begun to harbor a distaste for the color red in general.

"I still do not understand what the man wants from us, but it seems we are allowed to stay in the town he has built."

Once they were both on their feet Gabrielle started walking back in the direction of the town. She had been surprised to see that it actually had villagers and the murderer was the leader, so she'd been hesitant to actually enter. But she decided that it would be better than sleeping out in the cold and since she was stuck on this island, if the man ever wanted to actually kill them there would be little she'd be able to do to stop it. Resigned to her current fate, Gabrielle walked alongside her new, unexpected friend.

As Samori listened to Gabrielle, she herself was gad that Gabrielle also had her back. I mean not that many people Samori felt like fully had her back if needed. At least to Samori. Nor did Samori really have any major deep friendships with anybody. While people looking at their friendship would probably say that they aren't deeply bonded friends willing to watch out for another, Samori thought it they were though. Samori herself knew more stuff would probably come that would force them to be at the brink of death, thinking about it gave her a sense of despair. Though Samori also knew if she could survive a near death strike to the neck! She could survive any onslaughts that came there or her way. Willing to charge through said situations if she was foced too. From there newly founded partner ship Samori was sorta thankful for having someone next to her.

Thinking about it, she went over to her pencil, and note pad "No saying you'll try, say you will!" Meanwhile she writing it down Gabrielle would absorb the ice sculptures back into herself. She would show it to Gabrielle while she absorbed the rest of the ice sculptures. Showing the notepad, to reinforce they we're capable of getting through this. Though seeing Gabrielle absorb her ice sculptures Samori was sorta sad to see them go despite how short it was been since they were first made. Though she did leave the mermaid sculpture which she was indeed glad that she didn't absorb. After doing so Gabrielle would hand her hand out for Samori in which she would take, while she did want to stay and watch the night stars Samori didn't wanna get mauled again. Being pulled up Samori would begin to walk next to Gabrielle, taking the mermaid ice sculpture with her. As Gabrielle continued on the conversation she would give a shrug when Gabielle finished the sentence about the man, agreeing with her in a way.

Walking next to Gabrielle they would walk back to the town, she found it surprising there was an town slowly being populated on this island, I mean it was surprising they could live off the eco-system. Than again it was sorta hypocritical since she also has lived on the island, thinking about she needed to think like both a villager and yet a rebel. A fine mix between the two so she could understand both of them. As they left to the village, Samori would be pleased as how this went out.

A pretty solid little thread, interesting to see the two people who fought in their orphan battle sit for a chit chat. Though a part of me felt they were a little too chummy for two people who tried killing each other, I saw that it was adressed a little in the thread but felt it could have been explored further for more development. Regardless, enjoy the spoils.
