Local Man Attempts to Beat Up Orphans for Fear of his Life; Satoshi & Orphans (plus others maybe)

Things were a bit rough on Satoshi since the happenings in Africa. His own actions weighed heavily on his mind, especially with all these orphans on Elysium now. Statistically, it was likely that Satoshi had killed one or both parents of at least a few of them. Maybe Mercutio could sleep well knowing that he was too strong for any child to pose a threat, but it wasn't long ago that Satoshi was a stranger to his own Quirk. He'd grown skilled with it, yes, but nowhere near Mercutio's expertise.

Now, as if that wasn't bad enough, Mercutio was training some of those orphans himself. This was the last thing Satoshi could hope for. Some people who potentially want him dead being given training from his own master, when he had only been under Merc's tutelage for roughly a year at this point.

Thankfully, it was a small group that had actually been chosen for training. With the volume of people killed per member, it was likely they had all lost their parents to Merc himself, but the possibility of one coming after him was still there. Satoshi would have to be careful handling them, but he had an idea, an idea to either make nice with them or enforcing his position as higher on the food chain.

The morning that Mercutio took off to see the American elections, one that would surely go less terribly than the African ones, Satoshi left a simple note to each of the orphans that Merc had decided to train into agents. Written in several languages to cover as many bases as he thought to, the note urged each to meet their "senpai" on the island of Alana's southern beach for a small training session.

Satoshi leaned against an odd, black outcropping of rock, apparently emerged from the beach's sand. He faced away from the ocean, keeping an eye out for those he had invited there. He had thought about making a seat to rest on instead of lean against but figured that would simply emphasize how height-challenged he was. If he had to enforce his authority, that would not be the best place to start.

The boy didn't imagine crates would be this cold, especially after he'd seen it so many times on TV. At the very least, he had his tails to keep himself warm, or else he'd have been wanting for the likes of blankets and such and might have sunk to deep into his rations during this lapse of concentration. Still, his rations hadn't counted on his new home falling off the ship to America.

How had Mairu found himself packaged and lost at sea exactly? Well, it had taken many nights of thought but he'd eventually up and decided to run away from home, unable to stay under his family's roof any longer. He'd been rattled with guilt, night after night since the events of the festival, images of the scarecrow man burning alive frozen in his eyes. His parents had consoled him, set up therapy sessions, done all they could to convince him otherwise... but fact was fact: if Mairu hadn't stepped in, the man would still have been alive. He should have just run, and gotten everyone else to run as well, it was the safest option. He was no hero, not like he'd always wanted to be, and he definitely wasn't as smart as he thought himself to be.

All he had was a mind that worked fast, one too fast for any consultation to take effect. Mairu was cursed with a brain that refused to slow down, and one that lead him to the only logical choice when it came to keeping his family safe: Leaving them behind. It broke his heart to do so, and probably theirs too, but it needed to be done lest he cause them more anguish and pain by risking their lives.

Sneaking onto a ship headed for the states was simple enough, given his small stature and natural animal-instincts made sneaking around a simple act. All he needed to do was wait for a final inspection of cargo to be completed and then find a container that wouldn't draw too much suspicion. From there, reaching America would be the goal, having heard tales of the country being a land of freedom and expression, thinking perhaps there would be a place for him within its vast borders. South Africa may have been friendlier to his kind, but it was otherwise a fairly strict place to live he'd heard. Right now, Mairu needed something without stricture and structure, somewhere where he could just be himself... whatever this new self was he was slowly turning into...

But that idea had flown out the window when a rogue wind had sent Mairu's box over the edge of the ship in the middle of the night, leaving the child at sea for... he had no idea really. The cold winds and fatty snacks he'd brought only made him tired, hibernation kicking in and out as Mairu woke up from nightmares or spent days sleeping. He hoped he'd reach land soon though, given he was down to his last candy bar and bottle of water.

"Huh?" Mairu questioned, his eyes fluttering open as the rhythmic rocking motion stopping for the first time in what felt like forever. Realizing he must have struck land, the teen was surprised when unwrapping his tails, his body wasn't struck with cold. Rather, the air flowing through the crate's air holes felt rather warm, tropical even. Forcing the lid open with a few knocks, the kit discovered the reason for this was rather simple: He was on a tropical island. Where exactly though, was anyone's guess.

Slipping out of the crate, Mairu found himself with jelly limbs, taking a few shakes to get used to being on land again, with the warm weather helping a fair deal. Going on foot, the tyke looked around the beach in awe, taking in its golden sand and blue water with a fair bit of awe, never having been to a real beach before. The smells and sights were truly awe inspiring, but he couldn't hang around here forever. With no markers to indicate a place he'd seen before in a book, the boy would need to rely on a local for help... if there was a local.

The child seemed in luck, though, as Mairu spotted a preteen down the beach, probably not much taller than him and leaning on a rocky outcrop. Finding himself wanting of some socialization and in need of help, the boy ran across the beach, waving his hand in the air as he stepped on the sand. Finally reaching the teen, Mairu caught his breath for a moment, the last bits of fatigue wearing off as the child greeted (first in Japanese then English), "Um, hiya, I'm Mairu..."

…隻跌倒頭破了…

The short stony girl wandered down the path leading to the southern tip of the island as she hummed a little song to herself. She had had the MOST wonderful nap, and when she awoke, someone had been kind enough to leave some notes around about a little impromptu welcome party that was being pulled together to welcome the new arrivals. While it meant she missed out on all the fireworks, the nap had proven to be a therapeutic necessity after all she had experienced. Now physically and emotionally rejuvenated, Hiko was ready to take on the world, or at least get to know the others in her new family. Finally all of the fighting was over…

Unlike many of her new siblings, the girl had shed no tears at the loss of her father. Somewhere deep down she knew he wasn’t a very good person, but little girls were supposed to honor their fathers and love them unconditionally, or at least until they were vaporized in a crimson explosion. That night, her Fourteenth Birthday, she got the greatest present of all… Freedom.

Today was the dawn of her new life, she had been given a new home, a new life, and a chance to be a part of something truly incredible. Today she would make something of herself. As she reached the beach, she spotted the lone figure rooting atop the rocks. So HE was the one planning the party… He seems nice. Before she could approach, she spotted another figure approaching, this one another curious child, the youngest she had seen on the island yet. Had he also been a survivor of that long long night?

Trotting up to both of them, Hiko offered her sincerest smile and a polite bow in greeting. “It would seem I’m a little early for the party? Lucky! More party for me to enjoy then!” She took a moment to assess the party planner, something about him felt familiar, perhaps his scent? To her, he seemed to radiate an indescribable quality that tickled at the edges of her quirk. She was once again thankful she was lucky enough to wind up on this island with all these interesting people, whatever came next would prove to be interesting to say the least.

The First day to the rest of her Life~

Sleeping attire - NSFW

The sun cloaked her revealed body as the morning greeted her first day of freedom. She winced and peered one eye open out through a window. She curled back into herself in an attempt to go back to bed, not fully realizing where she was. She forgot her reality was no longer a dream. The realization jolted Maya awake as both eyes shot open and a smile curled around her lips, all she could do was let out a sigh of relief. "I... am fahyn-l-ee free..." she whispered to herself with a bit of a giggle to herself before she rose and outstretched her body similar to that of a cat. She arched her back while curling her bosom in the air and pushing the pillows against the wall, she didn't have much clothes outside of her slave wardrobe which got ruined by fighting Mercutio and because of her homeland she was used to not having to wear many clothes at all. She wasn't bashful about her muscles or scars either as she sat up, throwing her arms up in the air, she pulled her arms upwards before letting out a small yelp.

Despite being one of the oldest of the Orphans she didn't have much to offer them. She couldn't really read or write well and she only had a few disciplines above most others, but they were so niche and tailored to Africa that being here in this new place would've probably given an advantage to the more educated ones of the bunch. She sighed lightly as she rose from her slumber, making herself a comfortable pile of dirty clothes, linens and a rogue pillow she found, she didn't feel the need to tidy it up. Maya roamed around, her cinnamon curves on full display as her hips swayed back and forth while she looked for some sort of bath. She was able to find a bucket but no water, but she was fine with that. Grabbing the bucket, she went back to her room eyeing the other Orphans as she returned to where she had found slumber. She was surprised to see the brother and sister fuse into one, she didn't even know that was a quirk. Then there was the boy who charged in shortly after her, she didn't fully understand his quirk but she commended the boy mentally for his bravery. These passing thoughts came to a half when she leaned her head to the side looking at a note left in her quarters. And here she thought she was being hidden and discreet, sleeping away from the other Orphans.

She picked it up and it was written in either Swahili or Arabic, but neither mattered, Maya couldn't read. It wasn't a skill she felt that she needed to survive and her previous masters didn't feel it was necessary either. She just folded the note and slid it in her bra and continued on. She grabbed what little clothes weren't ruined and fixed up her hair before heading to the shore with the bucket. She eyed the other students who were still deep in slumber and noticed a few of them had notes as well, she sighed to herself in slight relief. It didn't seem the note was urgent or the kids would've been woken up she thought.

Her toes curled the sand underneath her as her slender body danced to the rhythm of the the chill march wind that scattered the morning mist. She was happy, truly happy to be free of her prison in Africa. She kept walking towards the beach before her halcyon eyes glinted towards the individuals on the beach. One of them she couldn't recognize but the other two she remembered. First the child with the stony exterior, Maya wondered if her insides was the same as her outsides, but that was more of Maya's primal thought process. The other was the man who had accompanied Mercutio. One of her liberators from the pain she was dealing with in Africa, she was thankful for them all of course for coming to her rescue, but she understood many of the Orphans hated Mercutio... But man was this guy short!

It probably wouldn't be farfetched for them to hate the white haired female and the man on the beach as well. She approached silently with bucket in hand, but couldn't stop to let out a giggle when she saw upclose that even she was taller than him, but she retained most of her composure as these were those who freed her from her pursuers. Despite having a top that was less revealing than a bra, she still had mostly straps and rather negligible underwear for her lower body. She didn't have much to wear and she wasn't going to wear something soiled, especially near her groin. Practicality meant lewdness it seemed. She wanted some water to boil for a bath, but this seemed more interesting overall.

Negan walked along the beach, his sister Rosa in tow. The two siblings had received a note telling them to meet on the beach for some training. Negan assumed that Mercutio had left it for them and he didn't seem like the type of person that Negan and Rosa wanted to keep waiting. They had no idea that Mercutio wasn't even on the island and had instead left to witness the American elections that were taking place. Negan started rubbing his neck, the spot where Mercutio had branded him still tingling as his hand made contact with the seal. He grimaced, remembering the pain he felt as the seal burned into his skin. The pain had been so severe that it had caused him and Rosa to un-fuse and writhe around on the ground, unable to even think properly. He turned around so that he could speak to Rosa. "What do you think he's going to teach us, sister?" He turned back around as he continued to walk forward. "I wonder if he'll tell us why he branded us?"

As they continued to walk towards their destination, Negan saw a couple of people who seemed to have just recently grouped up. As they grew closer, Negan began to make out the faces of the people they were meeting up with. The only person he recognized was Maya, the girl who had fought Mercutio alongside them. He coughed and looked down at the sand upon seeing what she was wearing. He took another look at the group, trying to figure out where Mercutio was. The lack of Merc's presence confused him. If Mercutio wasn't here then who left them the note?

"Uh.. Hi. Me and my sister got a note telling us to meet here for training. I assumed it was from Mercutio but he doesn't seem to be here." He coughed into his hand, attempting to ignore the scantily clad girl standing off to the side. "Does anyone know where he might be?" Negan said, shifting slightly as he looked around at all the people who were currently gathered together. He stood still, unsure of what to think of everyone as he waited for a response.

Rosa kept close to her older brother as the pair followed the instructions left for them. The fight felt so long ago, but there was no denying the faint sensation on her neck. She scrunched her face up just thinking about how painful the last attack Mercutio used on them was. Waking up to find out that Mercutio had chosen them for special training was at least a relief in that he wouldn't kill them. Or maybe he still would if they messed up. Still half asleep, the white-haired girl's head bobbed as she walked with Negan. "I dunnoooo, maybe he's gonna teach us what this thing our on necks is."

Her hair was still a long, white, mess, but there was no easy access to a brush to fix it. Rosa had to part the hair hanging in front of her face. Parting her hair allowed her to see that Negan and her were the last people to show up. However, Mercutio was nowhere in sight. The young girl nearly froze as her tired brain pieced together who was there. The woman that made her opponent vanish with goo and the stone girl that cut the boy's arm off somehow. Of all of the others, Mercutio could have chosen it was them? Both of the other people threw her for a loop. That was until she remembered vaguely the face of the teenaged boy from Africa. Once she realized he was there, the girl's mind quickly moved on from that set of memories.

That left one more person, a boy even shorter than her. She didn't remember him from either of the fights, but he also wasn't at the incident. From the looks of it he the youngest person on the beach. Would Mercutio really make someone that young in charge of something? Her eyes stayed locked on the mysterious fox boy as Negan introduced the two of them to the others. Just in case something bad happened, Rosa wrapped one of her hands around one of her older brother's. After the past few days, she could only expect the worse and the group of people already there wasn't doing anything to change that.

With one eye still on the group, Rosa tugged on her brother's hand to get him to lean in. If he didn't she would just stretch her neck to whisper to him, "I don't think anyone here is good." This training hadn't even started and she was already tense. If her older brother wanted to stay she would too, but the rubber girl had a bad feeling.

The first to this gathering approached Satoshi from outside his field of view, only catching his attention with the introduction. The short young man found himself looking down at someone even shorter, a child, probably not even ten years of age. Figuring that a small, runaway child hadn't just washed ashore, Satoshi simply presumed that the young boy was one of the orphans Mercutio had selected. He brought a hand to his face, clearly frustrated with this. He hated children. "Christ, Merc can't seriously be choosin' them this young can he?" Satoshi thought out loud. On the bright side, this was at least one of the potential threats proven more or less harmless. He was pretty certain he could fight a child if he had to.

Turning back to Mairu, Satoshi spoke again. "Hey, run along back onto the island, kid. You don't have to worry about this." The last thing he wanted was to have this kid get in the way between him and other orphans that could actually pose a threat.

Then the second newcomer arrived, a girl clearly older than the child, but younger than Satoshi himself. Now, she certainly looked within the range of someone Mercutio would actually recruit. However, she seemed to also prove herself as harmless with the exclamation of excitement over a nonexistent party. "Par-... There isn't a party, I'm just trying to get some of you kids together for some eh, training." He faltered a bit as he spoke of training. The boy wasn't interested in training as much as ensuring that he was relatively safe.

The next to approach most certainly was not a child like the other two, in fact, Satoshi seemed rather transfixed upon her, his amber eyes scanning her up in down, partially because she was the first that looked like she could actually be a threat, and partially- well, mainly because he found it difficult to remove his eyes from such a womanly shape, especially in the state of undress she was in. While he always made an attempt to seem above simple desires like that of the flesh, he really was just a bit of a dog when it came down to it.

He lost himself in her form for quite some time, practically, and nearly literally, drooling over her before he snapped back to his senses. As appealing as she was, he couldn't let her stick around like that out here for two reasons, firstly, and most obviously, because there was a small child present, but more importantly to Satoshi was the fact that it would be a detriment to him if he got distracted like that again while he was actually trying to speak with the orphans. The short boy quickly slipped out of his Adestria cloak before tossing it to her. "Sorry, y-you're beautiful and all, but there's a kid here and all, y'know?" He totally threw Mairu under the bus on that one, but it was imperative he does not get distracted by some admittedly amazing curves.

"Alright so is ev-" He stopped short as he noticed the two final additions to the group. he had been too distracted ogling Maya to notice their approach until the male of the pair spoke. "What, did Merc not tell you kids?" Only between sentences did Satoshi realize it was probably a bad idea to mention that his mentor had gone to another election. "The boss is out on business, and he's left me and his other main pupils in charge."

As though to assert his authority, Satoshi quit leaning against the rock and stepped forward, forming magma beneath his feet before instantly cooling it into a small pedestal, just to assure he was stood taller than the rest of the group. "Basically, I'm your senpai, or if you're not familiar with Japanese honorifics, your upperclassman." That reminded him, he had only been speaking in Japanese up to this point. He palmed his face in a small, disgruntled gesture before taking a deep breath and, in language after language, asked "What languages do you all speak?" He would wait for a response from each before continuing, quietly hoping that they would at least all have one in common.

Hiko quietly observed as more and more 'people' showed up. During her recovery, she had heard passing whispers about the other orphans and their respective battles. The things she had heard about the nearly naked slime woman seemed almost unimaginable, to the point that something had to be inflated in some way. In that same regard, part of Hiko worried what rumors were already circulating about herself, and how they must have been exaggerated. She was ...sorta responsible for a child tearing his own arm off, her memory of the warm splashes of blood still tickled her skin, the feeling of the severed limb going limp inside of her, she wondered if she would ever be able to wash away those sensations. Then there were the pair, to her knowledge they hadn't done much, but then again she had nodded off not long after her crimson savior had gathered them back up for a final test, there was a lot she didn't know about her new family. Not wanting to pass up an opportunity at making new friends, she offered the two a friendly wave and a smile.

"Par-... There isn't a party, I'm just trying to get some of you kids together for some eh, training."

His words only deflated the chipper girl slightly, she wasn't really expecting cake and balloons, but she could still hope. She had never really 'trained' before. What combat skills she possessed were purely the result of her less than desirable upbringing and a necessity where she had lived. That being said, her Papa had never bothered teaching her anything really, let alone send her off to school. She had always wanted to try her hand at a formal education. Growing up in the immigrant melting-pot slums of Africa, she had pieced together the knowledge needed to get by in life, or at least get by in her old life. She could read... barely, and she could understand a multitude of languages, though speaking them was still a little bit of a trial.

"The boss is out on business, and he's left me and his other main pupils in charge."..."Basically, I'm your senpai..."

This answered a large plethora of questions Hiko was about to ask, especially regarding who this boy was in regards to the Crimson man. She understood then that there existed an established hierarchy in his world, he gave importance to people of value, which meant she was in some part included in his plan. This... strangely relaxed the stone girl. Deep down, she wanted to be needed, to play a vital role of some kind, she wanted to be a good girl worthy of praise. With that said, this made the boy in front of her a person of significance, and if he was offering to teach, she was eager to learn. She briefly bowed her head to him, trying her best to keep her eagerness in check.

"So... You're like, a big brother?"

The First day to the rest of her Life~

Once the woman approached and looked over Satoshi's form, she looked over his body with careful auric eyes. He had powerful legs she thought to herself smirking lightly at his stature, as her eyes drifted upward tracing every inch of his latte skin which mimicked her slightly darker tanned tone, his firm jaw was impressive and despite his stature he radiated self-reliance. Her past crept on her as she wondered how that jaw would look underneath her, but she simply closed her eyes lightly scoffing at the idea of rogue primal thoughts. Reflex from her past apparently.. She was surprised though at his self-control, her gaze met his briefly and she faintly let out a small purr as she eyed his acute gaze. She was used to those who would simply lurch outwards in a crude fashion, but at the very least he had some class. She could see his lightly rosy cheeks as his rustic eyes met her aurelian narrowed look with her eyes half-opened. She simply would quirk a coy brow at him with a mocking grin, staying silent as he spoke, but her posture as she placed a single hand upon her hip accompanied with her merciless gaze spoke volumes about her confidence. She may have not been dressed in much, but she had plenty of scars she bore upon her copper flesh.

Maya dropped the bucket to catch the cloak as he broke eye contact. She could barely contain her excitement as a grin slid across her face. She gave a quiet bow to the man before draping her lower body with his cloak, tying it by the sleeves, the material would barely impede her movement and it's bagginess wouldn't bother her as she began doing a flash of quick kicks in the air, before looking downwards toward the cloak with approval. She then nodded once again to Satoshi. "Dryhg oui." she said naturally. Her voice when speaking in her broken dialect was velvety but barely could be understood and even if it could be understood its meaning would be lost most likely to the tanned accomplice of Mercutio. She heard the words beautiful come from him and something about the kids and she looked backwards to see the twins who were able to fuse into one. She smiled at them warmly and genuinely. She was truly curious about their abilities, she hadn't seen many quirks outside of X-Forms in Africa, but this was a nice change of pace for her. However, she didn't even know quirks like theirs could even exist but then again she had never seen anything on the same level of Mercuito or herself.

The man began speaking again, using a combination of complex word choice as well as simple ones but without the proper context she couldn't fully understand. Finally he spoke in Swahili and Arabic and she understood "What do you speak?" from him and she couldn't help but look down in what looked to be a bittersweet expression. She knew that she had never fully understood the language but she could muster a few words in Swahili despite her dialect being piss poor, but depending on Satoshi's exposure to X-Forms, he could probably figure out that she had never been taught properly. "I..." pausing a moment out of frustration.

"KU-baeahae-ge... like ann-ee-mull." she attempted to sound out her words as best as she could. The unique combination of Swahili, Arabic and English allfusedtogether to make her broken jargon. She huffed in frustration, she wanted to convey herself to the man. She simply bent down and began to draw a big X in the sand with an arrow pointing towards her, before she picked her bucket back up. Pointing to the emptiness of it before pointing to the ocean behind Satoshi. She then motioned as if she was dumping water all over her trying to explain what she was doing out here. It was clear to anyone that despite her being 18, she literally had no idea what he was saying.

The teenager looked down at the nervous fox boy disapprovingly, wondering out loud if "Merc" was choosing children as young as the child himself, preceded by an expletive. Confusion wasn't very much a handy thing for Mairu at that moment, especially considering he'd just spent several days at sea, so trying to piece things together from an angry sentence wasn't going to be the most fun time in the world. The boy was even rude enough to tell Mairu to shuffle off, saying what was about to happen didn't concern the child.

Scratching his head, the boy attempted to clear up the situation by stating, "I-I just wanted to know where-"

Interruption greeted the blonde boy as a stony girl, not much bigger than himself, wondered over to the pair and started inquiring about a party of sorts. Now Mairu hadn't been to too many parties, but he knew from experience they meant lots of cake, running and interesting loud noises. Being half canine and full child, the boy couldn't help but start getting giddy from the idea of it all, jumping up and down as he declared, "Partypartypartyparty! I know I'm not invited, but can I please, please come, please?!"

Before Mairu could get his answer, however, a buxom lass approached them, seeming cool and confident as she strode over to the growing group of people. She had apparently taken the lead in height and chest width, so she must have been the oldest person there, maybe the person who could have helped him out the most, but that was a thought far from his mind at that moment. At present, the woman's body held a much more pressing matter, the young fox trotting over to her side carefully as he gave her a look over. Finding his assumptions correct, the boy moved his limbs towards her upper body with a flash.

Fortunately, she wasn't that tall and Mairu was endowed with long tails, meaning he was able to protect the newcomer from the scorching sun fairly easily as he extended the appendages and created some shade as he said, "You gotta be careful going outside without sunscreen! You could get really badly burned!"

It seemed the stocky teenager had the same idea in mind, tossing the girl his cloak as he complimented her, definitely a good way to defuse the situation as to not offend her. What did cause offense, however, was when Mairu was named the cause for the teenager's worry, the tyke furrowing his brow and crossing his arms as he declared, "That's not fair! I've never gotten burned, not once ever! I'm smart enough to wear sunblock when it's hot..." He of course wasn't going to mention he'd neglected to bring any.

A final pair joined the group on the beach, Mairu glad to see there was at least someone else his age here, meeting Rosa's gaze with a small smile and a wave. The fraternal twins didn't interact much with him beyond that, but his sensitive ears did pick up Rosa mentioning there wasn't anyone good here, while the taller of the latest arrivals started asking about training of some sorts. From that, at least, Mairu could infer this was some sort of physical exercise.

"Maybe if I do really well in it, I'll get to stay... Not like I have anywhere else to go, and there are a lot of kids here... wherever this is..."

Satoshi gave further explanation, stating that he'd be acting like a senpai to the group while Mercutio... familiar name... their boss was away on business. The child's ears rose a small amount as he heard some Japanese terms, glad he wasn't too far off from culture he'd be familiar with. With all this came the question of what languages the group could speak, earning Mairu a possible chance to show off and earn some good credit with this "big brother" as the stone girl said.

"I can speak Japanese, English, French, German, a little bit of Polish and Russian and one time I learned a really bad word in Italian I'm not allowed to say..." Beaming just a tad, the lad grew confused as the woman saved from sunburn started to speak in a brand new dialect he'd yet to hear so much as the pattern of. Preemptively turning to the senpai, Mairu shrugged his shoulders so as to show even with his vast knowledge of language, he couldn't understand what the girl was getting at with her drawings, signs and strange dialect.

"I don't think anyone here is good" Negan heard his sister whisper to him. It seemed that his sister wasn't very impressed with the group that was currently laid out before them. "Come now, Sister. We have to be polite to them. I know that we're stuck on this island but we're still guests here." He chided, intentionally lowering his voice in an attempt to prevent anyone else from hearing him. Truthfully, Negan wasn't all that impressed with the others either but that didn't mean he wouldn't try and make a positive connection with everyone. He took another look at Maya, knowing full well that if there was one person that shouldn't be underestimated it would be her. Her quirk scared him and he wasn't even sure how it worked. The only thing he knew was that she was not something he wanted as an enemy. Fortunately, his apprehensive thoughts were put at ease when she smiled warmly at them. It was a big relief knowing that this scary lady did not think of them as her enemies.

Negan listened as Satoshi began to speak. Apparently Mercutio was away on business and Satoshi had been left in charge. Negan wasn't quite sure what to think of all this. The way the man spoke sounded off to him but he couldn't quite place why. In the end, the male half of fusion-ha decided that it was for the best if he and Rosa respected Mercutio's decision to leave this man in charge. "Basically, I'm your senpai, or if you're not familiar with Japanese honorifics, your upperclassman." Negan frowned at his statement, not quite sure what Satoshi meant by it. He figured that the dynamic between an upperclassman and those below them was different in other countries than it was in Canada. In Negan's country, an upperclassman was just someone you acknowledged; they were not someone you answered to. Although Negan wasn't very comfortable answering to this man, he didn't want to start a conflict by showing a lack of respect. He watched as a white haired girl bowed to Satoshi, clearly it was a respectful greeting that the man was accustomed to. Negan had never bowed before but he thought it might be a good idea to show him he was willing to comply with whatever training this man had planned for them. He quickly bowed to the man, hoping that his sister would take the hint and follow suit. "Nice to meet you.....Senpai" He said, a bit more hesitantly than he'd have liked. "My name is Negan and this is my younger sister Rosa. As you can probably tell, we speak English." He ran his hands down his green shirt in an effort to straighten out the faded fabric and make his appearance a bit more presentable. "I trust we're in good hands."

The maroon haired boy looked down at his sister, nothing but genuine affection in his eyes. The events of the African election had been hard on them but he was beginning to feel as if things were beginning to return to normal. Well..... as normal as they could be. The possibility of Negan and Rosa being able to go home was a long way away but they were both willing to give it their all for the sake of eachother. For now, these people would be their new friends and family. Even if he was unsure what to think of everyone, Negan wanted his relationships with them to be strictly positive.

"But in the fights, they did really bad things," the girl whispered back to her older brother. She didn't like it though, she knew most of these people were willing to kill. Maybe the fox boy wouldn't be so bad, but she had no idea where he came from. Or what anyone else was saying. Some of the others seemed super excited, did they really want to do special training? Rosa stood back behind her brother as she watched them all converse with one another. If they were planning to do something she would have no way of knowing.

Being positive was hard, but she would try for Negan. Maybe without the threat of death, the others wouldn't do anything dangerous. Rosa tried her best to stay behind her older brother. The white-hair girl only acknowledged the others when Satoshi finally spoke in English. As Negan introduced the two of them the girl waved back at the group. If even some of these others were chosen by Mercutio she was going to have to learn to be friends with them. At least until they had the chance to go home. She left the language questioning to Negan, still not wanting to talk to anyone else.

It looked like the person in charge, for now, was able to do something with heat or rocks. Looking up at him the girl gulped, her quirk usually kept her safe from the brunt of anything. The burning sensation from being branded still faintly stung on her neck. With a shaky hand, she pulled the collar of her shirt over the mark. "Do you think anyone else here got the marks like us? Oh, oh, make sure he says all that he said so we know too," Rosa whispered as she tugged on Negan's shirt. Whatever was being said she didn't want to risk missing something important.

Well, the stone girl seemed to understand what he was saying, though her response was less than desirable for him. Satoshi pondered telling her to quit it but decided it rather a good idea to let her see him as that. After all, if some of the orphans actually ended up liking him, it would likely give him a fair bit more rapport with them as a group. He certainly wasn't going to throw that away, especially considering that these kids seemed a lot less tense with him than he would have thought, save for those apparent siblings. They still seemed fairly apprehensive about him. He would have to keep an eye on those two in particular, they were potential threats.

With Maya's approach, the small child somehow managed to become even more infuriating for Satoshi to deal with, as the kid grasped onto the young woman's upper body with some excuse about sunblock. In an instant, annoyance, rage, and a dash of envy crossed Satoshi's face, though he managed to choke it back before anyone could get a good look at it. He decided it in his best interest to not yell at a young child, no matter how annoying they may be.

Satoshi was both taken aback and disappointed with the answer from the member of the group he had given his cloak. Her inability to speak a proper language would make things difficult between them. Though, being the natural schemer he was, it was near-instantaneous for Satoshi to formulate a plan to be able to spend more time with her in particular. "I see. In that case, I'll teach you to speak a proper language. Just for the sake of being able to communicate with the rest of us." He spoke to her in Arabic, one of the languages that she seemed to have understood to some degree, using a calm, but firm tone, trying to sound like the reliable guy he wanted to appear as. Teaching her to speak, and therefore give her the ability to properly socialize with the rest of the orphans would certainly build upon his influence among them. Not to mention he had a... vested interest in this one in particular.

The short young man's face formed a mask of indifferent exhaustion with the child's insistence to be a part of the conversation. "Okay, okay, wunderkind. I already told you to scram, but if you're gonna insist on staying here, I'm going to insist that you stay some semblance of quiet. I'm trying to do things." It was like this kid had nothing better to do aside from being a pest. Of course, that seemed to be the case with most kids Satoshi had the displeasure of being exposed to. He really hated children.

The pest of a child didn't manage to distract Satoshi when the young woman in his cloak began to try saying something without words though. It didn't take him too long to crack the code. "You are trying to get water from the ocean to bathe yourself?" Again, speaking in Arabic. Satoshi couldn't help but let the sly thought of offering to "help" her bathe cross his mind, but decided to pass on it. That would simply be much too on-the-nose. "Go ahead then. I will not stop you." He gestured towards the ocean, quietly wishing there weren't all these other people around. Then he could probably get away with at least watching her bathe out in the ocean. At least he wasn't going to try and make them leave for the sake of ogling her.

With the confirmation of their languages from the twins, Satoshi clasped his hands together, giving anyone who hadn't seen it yet a good look at the seal on the backside of his left had that Mercutio had given him. "English then! Wonderful, that's one of my best languages." He spoke in English, clearly not actually very excited about it. It was one of his best languages, but he was more just happy that they didn't all speak one of his less practiced tongues.

"Now, before we really start..." He segued, moving on past introductions (though he still didn't know the stone girl's name, and hadn't shared his own, though he would rectify that in just a moment). "I'm Satoshi, pupil under Mercutio for the past year, and the creator of the very island you're standing on. The development of Elysium may not entirely be my doing, but I am the one who formed the volcanic rock foundation that each land mass was built up from. Before I came here I was some spoiled little snot who hadn't used his Quirk once, at least not with the intent to do so. I hope I can see that sort of growth in the rest of you." Satoshi basically summarized his own life story up to this point, making sure to show contempt for who he was before, to really enforce that he had given up that life to become an agent of Adestria, even if that wasn't why he made the change in the first place.

That part about hoping to see that growth in them, wasn't some generic teacherly thing he wanted to say. While he had some reservations about the weaponized orphans, Satoshi did know and agree with Mercutio's reasoning, even if his mentor hadn't shared it with him. Oni was still a threat, and with how thoroughly Merc had gotten swept aside by the mysterious entity, the world would need several people at or near Mercutio's level if they planned to even put up a good fight against it.

"So then!" The short young man exclaimed, suddenly seeming more enthused than before. "I would like all of you-" He shot a glare at the child. "Aside from you. You spectate." Clearing his throat, he started again. "I'd like all of you to show me your Quirks, by attacking me. I won't intentionally hurt you, but I'll probably use my Quirk to defend myself, so you should keep in mind that lava is a bit hot." With that, the short young man, stood upon his little pedestal, only in a pair of worn shorts, spread his arms wide, as though inviting attack, which he was.

Apparently, the teenager who was running this all had not taken a liking to Mairu, the young child's spirits sinking as his attempt to show off his knowledge of language had apparently landed him in a bad spot, and on the same day he'd shipwrecked! The blonde-haired boy had half a mind to start nipping ankles, but thought better of it seeing as the teen was apparently some semblance of in charge and the last thing he needed was to get a whole district on his bad side.

In response to all the aggression, Mairu decided on folding his arms and taking a seat right on the sand, sending a raspberry Satoshi's way as he sent the boy a glare. Apparently this was some sort of training exercise for all the kids gathered on the beach, the teen explaining who he was and... well who he worked under.

Mercutio? As in, the Mercutio? Mairu couldn't possibly be on Elysium could he? The odds of that happening... why it would take sheer coincidence for something like that to happen!

"I'm not sure, Rosa." Negan whispered to his sister, answering her question from before. "Although it probably wouldn't hurt to ask about it after this training session is over." Rosa had posed a good question. Surely they weren't the only ones with that weird mark on them were they? Realistically it wouldn't make sense for them to be the first ones. The way Mercutio had branded them was incredibly smooth, as if he had done it many times before. After thinking about it a bit, Negan came to the conclusion that they probably weren't the first ones to receive the odd mark. The only question that remained to be answered was what the mark was there for. Perhaps it was some sort of way for Mercutio to keep tabs on them? Negan decided that he probably shouldn't burden himself with worrying thoughts like that and should instead focus on just getting through each day. As long as he and Rosa were safe then everything would be fine.

Negan stood up straight when he heard Satoshi mention what sort of training they'd be doing. It seemed that he wanted to test their abilities the same way Mercutio had. Negan could tell that this guy was certainly no pushover but if he compared him to Mercutio then he didn't seem like much. Still, this certainly wouldn't be a cake walk for them. As Negan took a look at his soon to be allies, he started to feel confident that they could all beat Satoshi. He wasn't sure about the white haired girl, but Maya definitely seemed more than capable as an ally. Negan turned to Rosa, ready to get started. If Satoshi wanted to see their quirks then it would make sense for Negan and Rosa to fuse right off the bat. This sort of training was no doubt nowhere near as serious as Mercutio's test was but it would be foolish of Negan if he didn't act serious.

Patting his sister on the head, Negan began to speak to her once more. "It's time, Rosa. Lets fuse." Negan took a stance, moving his hands in a circular motion over his head as he met fingertips with his sister. Before anything happened he balled his hands into a fist as he threw his arms to the side. Stomping one foot to the ground, Negan moved his arms over his head and touched fingertips with his sister. "Ha!"
