Act 4: Orphans vs. Mercutio It was coming, Maya had to be patient and wait for her opportunity. She was setting things in place, allowing her goo to slither down underneath the sandy beach while she awaited with baited breath. It wasn't going to be that easy it seemed. she had been watching for quite a bit and regardless of his eyesight he was able to see, lightning and fire attacks as well. She deduced easily that he had some extrasensory ability, but the fire and lightning? She had never seen someone with such a combination of quirks before. Especially someone with such strength, but she wouldn't let up. She couldn't, this was her gift of life and she wasn't about to let anyone take away her life or her freedom. Even if it is the man who saved her from her fate overall. This was before Mercutio decided it as time to actually dance. As he twirled and went she realized none of her attacks could reach him at that height, but seeing his crimson blast get shot out towards the ocean confused her, but she didn't want to take her eyes off of the man despite her inability to attack him from such a great height. She was just relieved he didn't fire that same blast towards her or the other orphans. So this was a test of some sort. She just didn't fully understand it, being alone in her entire life within Africa shaped the amalgamation that was her personality and in that, there was no oceans, just desert and pain. She didn't think this man was soft by any means, but he could've annhilated them as soon as he disrobed his arm to reveal a crimson blast from his finger. Her mind traced and wandered, wondering what it would've been liked, if he had just aimed it downwards. 'Crimson Death' ![]() She shook the image from her mind and took a glance behind her, seeing the pure gap between their abilities she saw the raining shards of ice and hail from what was a tidal wave in which the Crimson man was able to freeze. Was his power just that? Transmutation? It would go over her head, but his intrinsic and versatility seemed to be limitless. It was worth this, she got to see what true power was however, most of the Orphans were too busy attacking to realize what was coming. Maya's golden orbs darted back towards Mercutio who seemed to be preparing another attack. Was there no end to this? She thought to herself as he yelled out something towards the Orphans. "Shh-Ot-Gun" She only understood the latter syllable before he unleashed a torrent of orbs raining down on her and the other orphan's heads. Seeing all this made her question her own strength in comparison to his, she thought she was strong because of her quirk, but he was on another level. Attacking him? Attempting to force him into a corner? She realized that it may have been all moot, but one thing she could count on was making sure she did what she could to stay alive. She was not a joke and would not be swatted off like one. First, she erected a goo wall behind her 5m outward and stretched out as possible while maintaining it's overall thickness and density to protect anyone else who didn't charge in with close range attacks. She didn't know if it would make it in time, but if it did she would have it curl around her peers preventing the free-fall of ice and scattered energy balls that seemed to be landing all around them. However, she knew this defense wouldn't hold out completely and she knew that in order to stop all of this chaos, that he would have to stop. Her skin covered in crimson, making her look more bestial as time went on as scarlet and ebony wrapped around her flesh like a woman possessed, along with her black hair, her mocha features were all but gone as she proceeded to go over her limit in order to outstretch her arm towards Mercutio as he was descending. She did not realize his inability to sense her. In fact, she barely could comprehend his quirk, or the way they interacted or his actions but only his fluid movements. She outstretched her arm towards him, but no attack would fly from her. The sand, mixed with her slime that he himself galvanized and electrified would erupt from under him in an attempt to snare him, or even shock him with his own electric attack. She would then enable her goo which (hopefully) caught the ice shards from the tidal wave and at the same time her first attack was launched from under, she would send a much bigger and more imposing looking attack from the front utilizing just her single technique, Gather. Throwing everything she had towards him. After the rush of slime from under her and behind her would shoot out towards Mercutio as well as the slime under him, charged with his own quirk would attempt to strike from under him while he was hovering just above it. Maya would collapse on all fours, her skin returning to it's mocha hue panting on the ground, before looking up at the crimson man. She would do whatever it took for her freedom, even if it meant going over what she was physically capable of doing as she did everything she could to hold back from coughing so she could see the fruits of her efforts. With the two working together in one body, the Taylor siblings managed to pull of their plan of blowing up in Mercutio's face. Sadly the man seemed to be as resilient as he was destructive. The glowing finger made the being's eyes widen. As the massive blast was fired away from the group, part of the combined person locked up. All of the optimism from Rosa turned to fear as she watched the beam that killed their parents get fired again. No not again. Not again. Not again. Not again. The words repeated over and over as the world kept moving without her. Rosa's last few seconds of seeing her parents flashed in her head as the ocean next to the island exploded with crimson energy. Negan could sense his sisters fear within their shared body. He concluded that the shock of seeing the blast that killed their parents must have been getting to her. Although he himself felt scared when seeing that blast, his desire to calm his sister down allowed him to pull through and talk to her calm and reassuringly. "It will be ok Rosa. That blast won't hit us because we won't let it. I know you're scared but we have to keep moving. I'm right here with you." Negans voice spoke in the mind of the shared body, attempting to put his sister's mind at ease. Negan's word calmed down his younger sister. As the massive wave formed and froze over the girl started to return to reality. As the singular Taylor started to move again they looked up in time to see the chunks of ice start to rain from above. Using the sweaty on their hands, Taylor blasted back in the direction of Mercutio while trying to avoid the falling ice. Following up the raining ice with a blast of his own energy upwards caught the merged being off-guard. But it was too late to change course now. Half running and half flying, the fused person did their best to avoid the ice. Doing so would slow their assault on Mercutio, but due to the nature of Negan's quirk, it was worth doing. A look of determination formed on the face of Taylor as the ice started to float around their target. That wouldn't stop them. Using the force of their explosions the two as one flung themselves at the man. it wasn't until they were about to impact with the ice that the brother and sister made their shared body fire off a blast from both hands. The explosion would crash through the icy barrier and hopefully get more damage on man controlling everything going on at the moment. The force of the blast would also force Taylor back, right into one of the orbs as they reached ground level. Burns formed on one of the shoulders, but before the energy sphere could dig into them, it bounced off. Landing on the ground back first caused light damage, but before the Taylor could recover from their blast back another pair of crimson orbs threatened to burn into them. Using their rubber limbs, the white-haired mix bounced right into one of the sphere head first. It left quite the scorch mark on the forehead but again bounced off the elastic body. Standing back up fully, all that was left to do was avoid the onslaught raining down from above. Summary, Techs, LP

Well that didn't go as expected. She didn't actually mean to land a hit yet she did. Not only her, but the others as well. After she saw a few hits land she grew suspicious. He was allowing them to? Even though a few of her hits landed, her feathers were successfully spread around him it seemed, which meant she did her part. She watched as the man rose into the air, she had wings and she wasn't able to do the same, the act amplifying the difference between them if it was not already apparent in her mind, it certainly was in her heart which began to weigh heavier. He fired, but not at any of them, Glenn following the shot that hit the ocean. The water rising, as if the man himself was dragging it towards them. Did he plan to drag them into the sea? Guinevere had only just avoided a watery grave thanks to another's intervention, but if she fell in it would be her end considering heavy metal wings were poor for swimming, not to mention her dislocated arm. She'd sink and drown she was sure. However when she looked up at the menacing wave, it suddenly froze over. Was this the man's quirk again? Fire, lighting, sand, flight, ice. A monstrous demonstration of power. A shard of ice brushed past her cheek, cutting her and drawing blood. When her eyes looked up she saw the sky filled, like a thousand arrows made of ice. She crouched down, holding her good arm in front of her, placing one knee into the dirt and sticking her wing into the ground she tried to brace herself for the rain, using her wing like a shield. She wouldn't be durable enough as she the ice pelted her, her wing took the brunt of the attack which managed to save her from taking severe injuries if nothing else, though some of her feathers cracked and shattered, leaving her wing a jagged mess. After the rain of ice however, the sky was now filled with what looked like orbs. Everywhere she look she saw the orbs descending down on them, she couldn't outrun them, couldn't defend against them, but she couldn't die here. Her eyes fell on Merc. If he was using a big radius attack, she figured the safest place would be close to him. She started dashing at the floating man as fast as she could. She figured Merc would not put himself in the range of his own attack, she could be wrong of course as she had absolutely no idea of the extend of the man's powers, perhaps he was even able to shrug off his own attacks. She had no better idea now however as she tried to get close, to stay beside Merc even if it was dangerous, if she could keep close but with enough distance to avoid being struck or thrown she thought she could avoid the rain of power on them. But as Mer descended she saw a risky opportunity she thought she could take. Could he dodge like that? Likely, yes. But in the event he couldn't... She flapped her wings, shooting off feathers once more. Her broken arm was only able to shoot a few, poorly aimed feathers while her other arm shot mostly broken and jagged ones. After that she would have used up the remainder of her stamina, collapsing onto one knee as she panted and heaved. She shut one eye as she looked up at the figure, she'd done all she could. Hopefully enough feathers were spread for whatever the boy's plan was. Is...this where I die? Summary

The moment the kick connected with Merc, Zeak felt a surge of dopamine. Yes he had done it! Merc had been hit. To him the bell had been rung, and the song of victory had been sung. Victory was never on the table , but self victory most certainty was. Backing off from Merc a bit he would see on as all the orphans did their best but he noticed some were still scared. Still not giving their all in this life or death match. Zeak would take it upon himself to deliver a speech. The boy was not a leader in the least in fact far from it. He was just a punk from Brazil who happened to be good at sports. Even on his teams he was never the captain opring to do things by himself rather then with the team. Until now that ideology had worked for him, his talent and grit pulling him through. However this was different for the first time the behemoth that soared above him was more then he could handle. "Just what the hell are you idiots doing? Why are you so fucking scared?" Zeak antagonized his brethren. "You all saw it right? Me and the half pint over there hit him. He can bleed he is a man not a god. Start fucking acting like it. " Zeaks animosity shifted from Merc to the orphans who were being more tactical then him and the others. Zeak struggled with the concept of staying back and calculating strategies. Not that strategy was unimportant, but rather his execution usually far exceeded the means of getting there. Zeak felt a tingling across his body has what seemed to be electricity pulsed through his veins. "Lets go, unrelenting throw everything you got at him!" However then Merc would release a torrential wave of ice shards. Down upon them and Zeaks anger would be brought to a boil. The boy said once more "I don't fear you" The boys emotions blended into one being. Animosity, Tenacity, and passion became one as Zeak would make a mad dash towards Mercutio. One more attempt at a fight, however he had lost a lot of blood by now. His spirit could only take him so far. After-all he was still only just a child. As he ran he began to slowdown his muscles sub-cumming to his injuries. Ice shards would rain down and hit him one in his leg. A few more steps would be taken, and then another would hit his shoulder. Not yet , not yet keep going! The boy thought too himself. He couldn't go out not like this. One final shard would gash his left eye. Through sheer stubbornness alone the boy would walk up to mercutio or rather close to him. Then being in front of the Merc , Zeak couldn't help but smile. He looked on in awe , as he couldn't help but admire Mercs resolve. His legs giving Out Zeak would begin to fall. You're no god, but you might just be my- Zeak thought. As his knees hit the dirt a single word escaped him. "King" The light would leave the young boys eyes as he faded to unconsciousness. Falling further he would be laid out on the floor incapacitated. They had made their preparations and it appeared that Merc hadn't noticed or simply didn't care enough to react to them. Hell, maybe he just wanted to see what they were trying to do to him. Their foe did want to see them try and cooperate with each other. He was a strange man if he was...Derge wasn't entirely certain Mercutio was actually a human. Everything he could do was beyond normal and seemed to even defy the law of nature at some points. His plan was in motion and now it was Derge's turn his responsibility to finish it. Derge took off using his boost to race towards the foe. A blast of energy soared over his head that in turn cause a tidal wave, that could have swept them all away. It didn't. Why? Mercutio. He chose to freeze the massive body of moving water and use it to rain down shards of ice. This in, some ways helped Derge's plan proceed further. Unfortunately, the falling ice also forced Derge to use more energy than he anticipated. A construct of solid light wrapped around his hand as he emitted a weak aura of light all around his body. The smallest of ice crystals melted before it reached him due to the aura while s Derge used the dragon claw made of light to destroy, deflect, and dodge all of the rest. He didn't come out of the icy rain storm unscathed, he was bloody almost from head to toe. What was worse he was starting to feel an intense pain in his arm that he had caught the peahen with. Until that moment the adrenalin had been masking it but he was certain it was either broken or sprained. He needed his arm and wasn't sure he would be able to attack without it. Derge didn't have time to think of the pain or if he could even continue with his plan in his current state. He had to continue, he had to prove his point. There was a blast of energy, Mercutio had fired upon the fashion duo and the orphans around him. Again this was something Derge could use. Orbs of energy or perhaps light, it didn't matter the orbs produced enough environmental light, enough for Derge to gorge himself. He was able to move through the minefield of light attempting to use his light aura to blend in with the orbs. "Oh Dragon Style: give me a Stepping Stone" yelled Derge, glancing up at the small creature as he ran and leaped into the air. He hoped the little dragon would get the clue and dive down for him. His boosted jump netted him a greater distance than what he was used to, allowing him to the use a small dragon-like create as a pad to leap up once more, putting Derge level with the declining Mercutio. Derge raised his clawed hand as if he was trying to attempt to slash at. A small orb of light focused on the fingertip of Derge's index finger on the arm that had been damaged by the peahen. Derge wasn't able to lift his arm, he tried. The orb of light fired from his finger turning into a beam. Everything thing was prepared, all of it was right under Mercutio. The feathers and ice like a giant mirror below his feet, all positioned to reflect Derge's beam right back up at Mercutio. A reflected beam of light reflected from below and a claw, both aimed at the mighty beast. Derge had not only taken a beating, he had overused his quirk. There was a significant chance that Derge's claw would fade before it ever got close enough to fit its intended target. None of it mattered to Derge, he had his damnedest to prove a point. That he could overcome something like Mercutio if he tried. To Derge missing the shot would likely be a worse fate than death, so he pushed himself and the others into a plan that had little hope of succeeding for the slim chance he would hit the unhittable. Perhaps, maybe if Derge had been on the same level as Mercutio he would have actually done some damage and that was enough for the teen who had never taken control, who have never been anything but submissive. Artemis's desperation increased. She had to do something, rather than just gliding around. She knew that she was worth the time and effort one would put into her, and she wanted to show it, but was at a loss of what to do. She knew that she could be useful, but she was so small. And then there was the fact that she couldn't actually fly. The little dragon was dropping by the second, but her trembling wings held true. The pain that throbbed in her chest was hard to ignore, but her cold spit that had gelled onto the wound was doing it's part. The little dragon shifted her wings, making sure that her flight now took her towards her opponent. She pushed all thoughts of losing, of being obliterated in a streak of red, out of her mind to focus on what was at hand. She was going to show that she wasn't scared. That she would do what needs to be done. She had focused on Mercutio just as he brought out that orb of energy and shot it towards to ocean. Another trembled wracked her body, but her arctic eyes kept focused on the crimson man. She saw his subtle hand movements and knew that he was doing something. 'Is he going to drench us in water?' the little dragon wondered, knowing that that'd probably spell the end of her gliding for a moment. It was much worse. Artemis risked a glance up and gulped back a bit of fear. Mercutio had frozen the water he had taken from the ocean, forming shards of ice. The little dragon had no defense against such an attack. In fact, she was probably most vulnerable to it due to her smaller stature and the fact that she was hanging in the air. As the shards fell and cut and bruised the little dragon, the temperature of the air dropped. The cooler air would made gliding much more difficult. Artemis knew this would probably be her last time in the air for this fight. "Oh Dragon" Artemis heard. She swung her head over to glance at one of the other orphans, who was running towards Merc full tilt. He seemed wreathed in light, with a determined set to his face that the little dragon could at least sympathize with, if not like. The light man mentioned something about "Stepping Stone"s. Artemis glanced over to Merc as her brain ticked on. He probably wanted to get up high, as in a fight that was usually the best place to be. He could jump as high as he could, but still wouldn't be above Merc. 'Ah!' Artemis reached an epiphany and lashed her tail through the air. She tucked her wings closer to her body, leaving them open enough so that her fall was controlled. She zipped in front of Derge and flared opened her wings, beating them as hard as she could manage. If one were to listen closely, a small whimper could be heard escaping her lips as she stretched the severely bruised muscles on her chest. The little dragon quite gladly let herself be used as a boost for the boy. She doubted that she'd be able to get close enough to Merc to do any harm and, even if she somehow managed it, doubted that she would hurt him. The kick-back from the others jump sent Artemis hurtling towards the ground. Her winds windmilled to try and stop it, but all it did was soften the blow. Artemis crashed into the sand, flipping over. The grit coated her feathers and irritated her skin, but that was a minor inconvenience compared to everything else. The little dragon reapplied her cold spit onto her chest, numbing the pain of her burning chest even more. She wanted to prove herself, to show that she wasn't to be taken lightly. Artemis took a step forward and almost took another tumble. Her right leg didn't want to support her weight. The little dragon hissed, icy eyes fixed on Mercutio. She wasn't going to give in that easily, not to something that she could work around. Artemis tucked her leg up close to her body, the only position that seemed comfortable, and hobbled forward. Her wings were hunched over her shoulders as she tried in vain to keep the ice from ripping her skin and cracking her feathers. 'I will not lose' she thought, determination thrumming throughout her entire body. Summary

"Oh, Goose-guy. The one that needs fixing will be all of them, luckily you swim well." Leroy wouldn't exactly be surprised at Mercutio's answer, as the small goose soon caught on to the intensity of the island chieftain's methods. After he had flung the injured child with ease towards the hospital, Leroy realized that this hombre meant business. What did surprise him, however, was the massive swarm of icicles raining down upon the sky. Leroy was slightly befuddle at how this was relevant to his ability to swim, not really noticing the correlation between the ocean and the shards. What he did notice, however, was that he was likely going to be "lookin' like porcupine on a snowday." An unfortunate side effect of his quirk was that to heal others, he had to utilize his own immune system to bolster their's. This made the use of such techniques fairly risky whenever he was injured, particularly if the small goose was bleeding himself. If he weren't careful, the well-intended goose would bleed himself dry alongside the orphans. "Now Red, it ain't safe for me to be healin' these chill'ens if I'm bleedin' alongside 'em. That's just the way my quirk goes. If I don't stop bleedin', prolly be best to get ahold of some of the nurses too." The swarm of projectiles didn't dissuade the goose, nor did they prevent him from attempting to reach the newly fallen child. The feathered medic would attempt to jive and shuffle through the onslaught of icy shards, his stubby legs only allowing him to be as agile as the rest of the children were. Unless Mercutio allowed for him to pass through the descending icicles unharmed, he would likely get a few good shards embedded into his backside. If so, the diminutive doctor wouldn't hardly notice the shards, his adrenaline driving him towards the unconscious orphan. Leroy would begin staring at Zeak, allowing his healing energy to transfer onto him. The fallen orphan's bleeding would soon begin to clot, scabbing swiftly ceasing any more potential blood loss. He would still remain unconscious, however, as there were too many patients for him to only focus upon one. As long as they weren't dying, they would be fine. A slightly woozy Leroy would notice another injured child, this instance being a fellow avian. Her wing had been snapped in two, an injury he had often healed during his adolescence at the zoo. "Miss Peacock, I can fix your wing right up for you! Just try and mosey on down here, I'm sure Big Red ain't gonna mess with you if I'm doin' my job. The young Peacock would fill a sudden rush of warmth, as if a flood of security had washed over her. Despite the situation at hand, the cockles of her heart would silently whisper that "everything would be okay." Her broken wing would slowly snap itself back into place, the fragile limb feeling as if it wasn't ever broken at all. Summary

Running around Mercutio, Demetri watched the two siblings fused together and initiate their part of the plan. The boy who had previously attacked Mercutio seemed to had barely held onto his consciousness, and despite his injuries, this boy jumped in for another attack at Mercutio. A blue girl targeted Mercutio by creating twelve ice mirrors around the man, along with a bird girl who was firing metallic feathers at Merc as well. All of these things came together to create the opening the group needed to land a hit on Mercutio. As Mercutio tumbled into the air, Demetri stopped running and halted the release of his offensive pheromone, continuing his adrenaline rush. Even though the boy confirmed that his chemicals were indeed capable of affecting the man, Demetri was skeptical of what had just transpired. The group's attack was 'well-done' given the chaos of the situation and was pretty much everything they had, however, Mercutio seemed to have taken the attacks with relative ease. It felt like the man chose to get hit, but Demetri was unsure. Focusing his concentration on Mercutio, the boy then attempted to take in the man's scent, hoping to figure out the man's true intentions. He is so calm... Demetri stood with his hands placed on the back of his hips, cocking one foot onto its toes, as he glared at the man with a piercing stare. It was not that he lacked killer intent, but it was... apathetic... like a child playing with ants, the boy did not wish to show his uncertainty to the enemy, trying to hold his best poker face as he prepared himself for what this man had planned next. Upon hearing Merc laugh, Demetri's stare sharpened as he held his focus on the man. It was becoming clear the man was toying with them. Did he just want to see what we would do? Mercutio, after mumbling some words, charged and fired a crimson beam into the sea. Demetri watched in awe as he watched the water morph and tug in every direction. Watching the water freeze and then rain down in the form of ice sickles, Demetri tried his best to prepare for their landing. Shards fell and gashed his left shoulder, and began to create cuts all over his body as it sliced his skin. Though not fatal, it did cause the teen to begin to bleed. Holding the minor wound with his right hand, Demetri kept moving in an attempt to dodge the remainder of the attack. In the corner of his eye, the boy could see a small armadillo looking creature. It bounced on the ground, appearing to be trying to protect the boy from the continuous attack, but it was all happening so fast there was no time to make sure. Then all of a sudden, the waves in the ocean turned into glowing orbs that would then fly at all of the orphans. As they approached the group, Demetri attempted to prepare himself as best he could to minimize the damage from his oncoming attack, but at this point, things seemed grim. Looking back to Mercutio, accepted the fact that this could very well be it. Milliseconds became seconds in the boy's mind as the orbs continue to make their way to the group. If I'm going to die... Am I really going to be the one to sit and wait patiently for it? In that moment, Demetri, empowered by his resolve, decides to fight until the bitter end, no matter the odds. With only mere moments until the orbs arrived, Demetri decided he had to survive this attack, no matter what he had to be able to move after this. With the adrenaline flowing through his body, the boy felt no pain and would feel no fear as he prepared to try and maneuver around the terrifyingly powerful attack and inevitably take its force. He was determined to face this reality with all his might. summary

The orphans had managed to land a hit. Mostly surprised by what he had just witnessed, but also concerned about how Mercutio would react. The hits had been as before, they had been brushed off rather easily. It was concerning to see, as it was clear then that it was no game of tag. The immediate questions raised about how Mercutio would respond were answered. The answer, however, only brought more questions as Mercutio sent off a blast towards the ocean, one they were all familiar with. He felt his knees buckle somewhat both from the atmosphere that the release of energy created, and also because of the emotional implication of using that same ability. The instant the shot was made, Roland felt as though they had all frozen in wait. Despite the feeling, it was not long before a wave came towering towards them. As if that display was not enough, Mercutio then froze the wave and shattered it, further displaying what seemed to be a limitless ability to manipulate all the elements. He couldn’t help but feel as powerless as he had back in Africa. Time did continue however, and the less observant types were back at it again with their attacks, surprisingly, they had found some coordination. Roland was especially watchful of Derge, the boy that had approached him and asked for his participation in the plan. Roland was starting to feel trigger happy as the saw the others perform their parts, however he was able to hold. As Derge made his move, so did Roland from the ground. He ran dead center between the things the others had laid out, and where Mercutio would be falling. He presumed Mercutio would rather not get hit by his own volley, and assumed it to be the safest place, not to mention the place he needed to be for his involvement in the plan. As the events unfolded and Derge was making his way towards Mercutio, Roland pressed his hands against the sand, digging his fingers deep. With a full body motion of raising something intangible, there was a loud crackling sound as the many minerals of the sand compacted beneath the surface, in a diameter as big as Roland could make. He created a magnifying-glass type bowl that would pop from beneath the sand abruptly, sort of like a spring mechanism to push the creations of the others orphans airborne towards Mercutio. There had been no signal, and had acted on intuition and timing, but judging by Derge’s proximity, if he did not act then, the signal was not going to be happening. Once the bowl’s purpose had been completed, the bowl would shatter in pieces, and the pieces of crystalline shards would fly up towards Mercutio, joining the rest of the “debris”. "Beautiful!" Roland exclaimed as it all shone so brightly in the sky. As Roland looked up to see his part through, he saw the incoming ice projectiles and braced himself for impact. While focused on defense herself and trying to survive this whole event the others were not so inclined. They had gone on the offensive and it actually seemed to be working. As they rained down attacks on the man they had even seemed to knock him off his feet, well sorta. Since he was not even standing on the ground it was not quite the same. Regardless the assault that they had rained down on the man was rather impressive. The most impressive of which was the combined attack of the two kids who had been trying to go for teamwork from the beginning. The fact that they were one being or could become one being would probably explain the fact that they were so into teamwork. All she really knew was that Mercutio was not going to come out and punch the one that she was protecting. Then again it was probably a form of attack that nobody expected. Fran had hoped that her plan to block his attack had gotten her some attention, but when she had planned to block an attack she did not expect this kind of an attack. "Is there anything that he can not do?" she thought to herself in awe of what this man could do even more than before. He said it was simple energy control before and she didn't really believe it then, but thinking back everything he did had to do with energy. Moving objects around, creating fire, creating lightning, shooting energy, and freezing objects. She thought that it was a rather amazing how his so called simple power could be used in such interesting ways. It must have required a lot of effort and even more creativity to look at such a simple sounding power and use it in such unique and inventive ways. This was not the time for her to be admiring his creativity and power though given the situation that she was currently in as the man made an attack out of the very ocean itself. The ice fell down upon him as she was still spinning around in a hope to protect others. This particular shard of nice was not heading for another but she sorta just kept going and couldn't particularly stop herself as she collided with the ice. She had been spinning and a combination of the momentum and her keeping herself tight in her defensive curl caused the clash to end with her not getting cut up from the ice. Instead she crashed into it and spun a bit before being thrown away by the force. Despite her resolve and her tenacity to stand firm and protect others her small weight tended to have her be thrown around like, well a doll. It seemed that her plan to defend the boy was for not as she was sent flying threw the air. She could see as ice cut against the boy who she had intended to defend. This sorta cut her rather deep emotionally as yet again her best planned efforts ended in failures. She could not help a single person that she had tried to help and this just drove her that much harder. After landing a bit away from the initial impact of the ice she rolled back a bit before finally landing flat on her belly. If this was the her of the past then she would have simply lied down and given up. However she had changed from how she once was and was able to try, fail and get back up again. Unfortunately unlike Mercutio she either did not have the skills or the creativity to use her quirk like he did with a lot of strategies or methods. What she did have though was perseverance and a small target. She pushed up off of the ground and began to scurry back towards where the boy was moving in a strange zig zag pattern trying to avoid more of the falling ice debris. She could see all the others scrambling to make their way through this test or attack of Mercutio in there own way. Some were fighting against the attacks that were falling around and at them while others were seemingly striking out against Mercutio yet again. She saw it as pointless and fruitless, but they had just managed to land one series of blows against the man so she did not know how it would go. She didn't know if it would even be good if they had managed to win or beat him anyways, not that it was going to be easy either way. Even if they had one they were most likely still not going to get off of this island easily. None of that really concerned her though as she currently only had one goal in mind as the shards of ice gave way to blasts of energy. She had managed to get to him as the energy came towards him, and without a second thought she jumped straight into it as she rolled up into a ball. She did not know what would come of this as she did it, but she had to do it because she had to stand firm. As the energy collided with her she was sent flying with a great deal of force. She felt like a kickball that was sent flying across the school yard. But instead of being sent flying across she was sent slamming down right into the ground beneath them. If it was not for her strange anatomy she was not sure that she would have made it out of the strike alive. Her body while firm on the outside was soft on the inside and even while curled up into a ball she was flattened by the force of the blow and looked like an oval even suffering a minor tear in her side. Fran was happy though, feeling as if her block might have made at least a small difference. She came out of her flattened state and was ready to run around and try to help others if she could even if it would tear her apart. summary

Gabrielle completed her twelve mirrors in time to see a massive tidal wave coming their way. She stopped skating and looked in horror, trying to figure out how she could possibly defend against it when suddenly the water turned to shards of ice. Though it wasn't much better Gabrielle breathed heavily, preparing herself. She let the ice on her feet sink back into her body to regain some of the water she'd used before bracing herself up against one of the brittle walls she'd created, crouching down and holding up the shield on her forearm. "Merde!" The icicles crashed into her shield and Gabrielle was pushed back into the wall which quickly shattered. As the broken bits of her wall fell around her she let them sink into her skin, continuing to reabsorb the water she'd used and regain her lost energy. The shards of salty ice battered her shield and some found their way around her defense and cut up her exposed ankles, but she stood strong against the oncoming attack. All around her the weak mirrors she'd created shattered and whatever plan the boy had been thinking of probably wouldn't work now, but currently Gabrielle was more interested in not getting gored. Finally the icicles relented and Gabrielle lowered her shield, using her quirk to cover her sliced legs with ice to stop the bleeding. It was a temporary fix but it's all she was capable of. Looking around to see if anyone had been killed Gabrielle quickly began reabsorbing the broken ice from her mirrors. She could only absorb ice created from her own quirk so there was no risk of accidentally taking in the sea salt-filled icicles and dehydrating herself. She sighed with relief as it didn't seem that anybody had died from the attack and she looked back up at the floating man, trying to think of what to do next. From what she'd seen the man was nigh unstoppable. Even with all these people Gabrielle didn't think they'd even be able to lay a scratch on him. Would running be better? She had no idea where she was and if she was and she thought that if she ran she'd just be gunned down and killed so Gabrielle quickly dismissed that thought. The only thing she could think of was to keep fighting, but how could she do that when their opponent was so incredibly powerful? She tried to think of what she could do to help and only one word came to mind. Defense. Gabrielle looked around and spotted the white haired boy she'd seen flying around. He seemed to be the strongest of them and had been giving their enemy the most trouble, so she quickly ran over and stood next to him, raising her shield in the flying man's direction. "I will defend you. We attack." She spoke to the boy in her broken English, not knowing she was talking to two people. In fact she wondered where the boy had come from but decided now wasn't the time. She thought this person might be their best chance and if she could help by protecting them then she would. Summary

So many things transpired at the same time; this is essentially Assalire's fault for spacing out over an extended period of time during the fight. Was Mercutio simply that powerful? A man who could be called a God in the eyes of many orphans here, if not each and every single one of them? The girl who appeared to be from Africa seemed to show signs of being able to understand what the boy was saying and she definitely didn't appear to be giving up anytime soon. Assalire may have tried to use his intellect for a short amount of time, and due to that the boy ended up spacing out. What an idiot! "Tch. I guess we're all screwed if anything hits us here." Assalire thought this all to himself while frozen in legitimate fear after witnessing what Mercutio was displaying in terms of actual attacks. A bunch of ice shards that were large in proportion coupled with multiple energy blasts that could do only God knows what; Assalire honestly didn't know what to do in this moment. One of the boys shouted out something about Mercutio actually bleeding! He isn't a God, but a man! That everyone around him should act as such and make their best efforts in actually fighting back. Even if it were to cost them all their lives. "How could I have been so blind?!" Assalire yelled at himself despite actually projecting his voice. How foolish of himself! Assalire froze in fear because for a little while, he himself had lost sight of his goals! The reason he told himself that he would ensure his own survival! That is to one day avenge his parent's death by seeking out those in France and Italy whom had wronged all of them by sending them to Africa through external means and influence. Looking around, it didn't seem as if Mercutio had any true intention to kill any of the Orphans fighting here; but definitely was putting everybody through a literal hell to prove that they were worth of any value to be left alive. "If that's the case, I will do everything I can to fight back! I should start with those ice shard and attempt to prevent as much damage as possible. Long shot... but it might work." Assalire didn't know whether any of the things he would be doing would work at all, but it was definitely worth a shot! "Gum Gum no... Whip!" Using both arms Assalire extended them towards the ice shards that were coming for all of the Orphans and did whatever he could to intercept and toss them back; however that was all in vain as the shards seemingly overpowered Assalire in an instant. Not only making his hands feel insanely cold and numb, but also ricocheting them over to the incoming energy blasts. Apparently, those crimson waves of energy made some explosions of concussive force when they came into contact with something or somebody and in fancier terms were simply explosions of complete blunt force. Exactly how lucky was Assalire? Probably just way too lucky in this case! The kid has no clue that his quirk just saved his ass from getting demolished from those blasts! Turning his attention over to the African girl for a split second, he shouted. "Are you okay?!" Not that she might be able to pay attention to him since she apparently may have developed tunnel vision. Then, to attempt breaking past his forsaken limits, Assalire launched a jab towards Mercutio's body, "Gum Gum no... Pistol!!" Whether or not that the technique connected, Assalire would begin to feel that his body is starting to lose control over itself! Feeling an immense amount of fatigue after executing his actions. God of Destruction

'I've seen what I need.' he thought to himself. As he manipulate the ice before running the ice he was manipulating into the ground as more rained from above. Explosions rained around him, a few striking him directly in the back, but it didn't really seem to faze Mercutio at this point. Merc was far to focused on analyzing the movements of every other person and despite being so gifted with his senses, it was still something that took concentration. It was then, as another orb hit him in the back that the absence of energy, yet abstract movement, caught his attention. A 'lack' of feeling in the area that Mercutio was only able to get use to quickly because of his past run ins with other quirks and people. Oni was one of them that he has gotten use to and now it was the girl with the quirk (Bird of Hermes) goo. This girl, Maya, she reminded him much like Void Bitch of the Wonder Duo... but that was years ago, and Rory was handling that lose end. Hopefully Maya won't be an irritant like the other was. A crimson cape fell down his back not ever kissing the ground as it disperses and regenerates constantly from around his neck, shoulder pads now visible on the cape. Mercutio took a swing, releasing a burst of pressure from his hand (free-form) to swat away the blast. Maya, or whoever she was, was already in Mercutio's good books. The same could be said for Demetri. It was impressive to see that at least one of the many children he spared actually had a brain in his head and not just a running mouth or shivering corpse. The sad part was, in the end it seemed the boy sub-come to the immaturity of age. Reacting as quickly as he could, Mercutio would brace the impact of the blasts the young one fired, using his Akatsuki cloak to take the brunt of the heat and go to grab Derge's attempt on an attack, "Learn to pace yourself." he said simply before sending him for a swim. Mercutio, with a large hand clasped over Derge's face, would give him a throw. His toss would send the boy over Demetri's head, and was thrown the direction so Demetri could be faced and tested. Demetri's test would be on durability. "Hope you live, you are very observant." he would say as he leg swept his body, forcing him into the ground with as minimal a force as he could deliver at full speed. To ensure he wouldn't die from Mercutio's over doing it; Mercutio braced his initial impact, but is than tossed into the air, not realizing the capabilities the user of the sand and rock quirk actually was able to manifest. For a moment, there was a bit of panic, but basing off where the others around him were, he found the ground easily enough. Throwing a hand out again, Mercutio would grab Demetri to evade the boy from suffering further damage. Hovering again as normal, Mercutio would begin t deflect and break the projectiles with his bare hands after first wrapping Fran & Demetri, who he assumed to be unconscious, in his jacket to stop them from piercing either of the two. He'd swing his leg around and kick the air, sending a wave of Crimson towards Roland as he spoke to Fran. "Quite an interesting one, aren't you?" he said, seeming intrigued after realizing what exactly they could do. Mercutio would finally notice Assalire, and seeing how well they took the previous blasts decided to bull rush them with a straight punch for the face, asking them as he did so, "If ya wake up, let's chat," before sending them to space over the water. He would turn to the rest of the group, swaured nw the Fusion Ha. "I think I have made my choices, but I have one final test for one last duo." he said calmly, crimson swirling around his right around like a tornado, armoring him. "You ready?" he asked the Siblings. Summary & Tech/LP |

The fused siblings almost couldn't believe their eyes as they watched Mercutio systematically dispatch the other orphans. They took a step backward when he turned to them, ready to attack them as well. "Are you ready?" He asked them. In truth, they weren't exactly sure. They had handled Mercutio's attacks fairly well but they were currently experiencing a splitting headache from dealing with Merc's energy balls. They braced themselves for what was to come. Regardless of whether or not they were ready, Negan and Rosa knew that they had no choice but to take him on. There was no running from this fight; running would only show Mercutio that they were weak. The siblings weren't quite sure how long they would last against a man of such power, however there was no way they were just going to back off. Negan's voice spoke up within their shared mind. "We have no choice, Rosa. I don't know how bad he'll hurt us but we have to keep fighting even if we know we're going to lose." His voice spoke with confidence, as if they would actually win against the crimson king. "You sound so confident...do you really think we can pull through this?" Rosa's voice spoke softly in the mind of the fused duo. "He's so strong.." Truthfully, Negan wasn't very confident in their chances but he knew that he needed to reassure Rosa. "The two of us together can pull through anything. Don't worry about a thing." This would not be an easy task but regardless of that, Rosa and Negan were determined to survive whatever was thrown their way. Rosa and Negan were both very happy to have each other. Not only did they share an incredible power, the mental support they provided one another just by being together did wonders for both of their minds. If not for each other, Negan and Rosa might not have been mentally stable enough to deal with the obstacles thrown at them. We're ready."The fused partners said to Mercutio, their voice sounding like the two siblings were speaking in unison. "Come at us. We'll handle whatever you throw our way." Their voice spoke confidently despite the doubt that rested uncomfortably in the pair's shared mind. They readied themselves for the inevitable attack that was about to come their way, staring intently at Mercutio, making sure they could see his next attack. As they prepared themselves for Mercutio's attack Negan's voice spoke up once more in their thoughts. "Whatever happens, I'm glad we're together." He said, a depressed tone creeping into his voice. Negan felt a bit stupid for acting sentimental at a time like this and part of him was relieved when Rosa didn't answer him. It seemed that the young girl was deep in concentration. The pair waited for Mercutio to make his move. Earlier, Mercutio had said "One final test for one last duo." The statement on it's own may have been threatening but it also meant that things might turn around for Rosa and Negan if they managed to pass this final assessment. The two siblings had never been more in sync than they were right now. Both of them were extremely determined to survive and hopefully get off this island in pursuit of home. Summary Lp

Gabrielle stood beside the two siblings merged into one, watching from behind her shield as their opponent continued to deal with them one at a time. With every fallen ally she felt more and more despair for their situation, knowing that it was probably only a matter of time before the monster's sights were turned upon her. Indeed, she raised her shield up higher when he cast his attention in her direction. Gabrielle watched as his crimson aura rose around him and seemed to shroud him like a suit of armor. She spoke to the white haired boy with her very best English. "He is coming. We must be ready." She had heard him say something about a test for a duo and assumed he was talking about herself and the white haired boy she'd decided to defend for, not knowing that her ally was in fact two people. She nodded in agreement as the boy declared that they were ready, staring down their opponent with determination in her eyes. Gabrielle knew the man had power beyond her own belief, but if they were to die here then she'd at least put up a fight. Having seen the man don his wispy red armor Gabrielle decided to do the same. Using up much of her body's stored water she coated the entirety of her skin in a layer of solid ice, as thick as the shield on her forearm but not so bulky that it would hinder her movements. Immediately she felt light-headed from how much water it had cost her but now wasn't the time to give in to drowsiness. Gabrielle steeled herself for what was to come, staring at the from behind a layer of frost and standing with an unyielding posture. She took one step forward, standing between the red man and the white boy as a solid blue line of defense. "I will buy you time.. please stop him for us." She held her shield up high, ready to intercept whatever attack the man threw at them. Summary
