An arena of water that gets electrtically charged every once and a while. Also, there are sharks. They have laser beams.

Derge stood upon one of twelve small platforms that circled a larger one in the middle. The twelve were within jumping distance of each other and were just big enough for one person to stand comfortably. The larger stone platform was big enough for multiple people to walk around or even run on but that might not be such a good idea since the spray from the ocean that surrounded it all would likely make the stones slippery.

The sunlight reflected off of the surface of the ocean as Derge look around. He glanced over the area seeing both his opponent and what seemed to be sharks circling and swimming in between the stone platforms. Derge took a step back before taking a couple of steps forward and leaping to the center stage. As he was in the air he heard something crackling. He wasn't sure what it was or where it was coming from.

Derge raised his arm and pointed his index finger towards the other person while sticking his thumb up, or in other word creating a finger gun. He watched and waited for the other person to make their move. He kept his eyes and finger pointed directly at his foe. "Come at me if you want to die."

There was something so wicked about what he was tossed into. Pit against another kid, whether for entertainment purposes or not- he wasn't sure. All he knew is that he would be the victor. Or, at least, die trying.

The wind howled around him as he stood atop his platform, just opposite of the other orphan across from him. There wasn't exactly much of a reason for him to make it over there, but the guy was pointing at him anyway. Wait... why was he pointing? That didn't make much sense to Silas at all.

"Huuuh?" Cupping his ear and giving an overdramatic gesture, Silas called to the other kid, questioning what it was that he said,"You're gonna have to speak up! I can't hear you all the way over there!" It was quite strange to be in a situation such as this one, especially after such a tragedy. Kurt would have told him to stay strong, to not change who he was just because of one mistake. And so, he stayed Silas. There were a few more, traumatized bits in that cranium of his, but he was still the same kid!

Or, he seemed like it.

"Here! Just wait! I'll head over there!" More yelling ensued as Silas started to jog towards the platform just right of him. Kicking off the friction on the soles of his sandals, he slid and jumped over. The boy's plan wasn't to just play dumb the entire time. From the second he landed into this forsaken water arena, survival was his top priority. To keep going past his opponent's breaking point- to be victorious.

It would be harder to hit a moving target, especially when Silas slid and jumped around like a surfer. This was all that he could hope for, in case that pointing did amount to something dangerous.

Derge's eye twitched when the other orphan gestured at him and pretended to not hear him. He wasn't about to repeat himself to a foe that would soon be dead. Derge wouldn't allow himself to be dragged into doing something stupid when the situation was so obviously a fight to the death. Taking a deep breath, Derge didn't outwardly show the internal fit of rage that was bubbling.

Derge watched and observed his opponent as he skid and skated around the outer platforms. There wasn't definitely a quirk at work here allowing the man to skate around as if he was hovering. Was he creating some kind of slippery substance like ice, or was it something completely different? Derge wasn't sure about the fine details but he would continue to watch his foe. As the man ran around, Derge would turn to match him; keeping his foe in his line of sight.

While Derge was able to keep up with the foe's movements by maintaining a small area in which he had to move, it seemed that the man running around was a little faster than Derge, which made him suspect that the foe's quirk was somehow boosting his speed. Derge had a technique that would boost his speed to something close to what the foe was moving at however he determined that it would be best to let the foe run around and use up his valuable stamina. For the same reason, Derge decided to hold his fire, hitting someone at that range would be hard enough little lone while that someone was moving.

The other kid in the arena wasn't playing any games, that was for certain. Silas had seen plenty of party-poopers like him before, typically quite mad at anything and everything. Honestly, there was nothing stopping himself from becoming the same way. There were parts of him that wanted to scream and curse at the world for making it so- for making him so utterly alone. And yet, this would be his older brother's last wish.

For this one thing not to change who he was.

And he would try. He would try, once this was all said and done, to live life to the fullest. To live on for them.

Silas would come to a skidding halt just a platform away from the orphan, first noticing the height difference between them. A pout would reach his lips first, opening his mouth to speak while looking particularly down-trodden,"Jeez... what are you? Part giant?" The ginger would sigh, scratching the back of his head with a huff,"I mean, come on, this is just unfair." Though he meant that the odds were in the other orphan's favor, Silas couldn't help but think about how cruel all of it was. Some sort of sick nightmare that he couldn't wake from was all that he had to look forward to, a child in front of him that he couldn't even get to know before killing him.

"Say, do you have a name? Mine is Silas, though a lot of my friends just called me Si." It was a bit nervewracking to introduce himself, even to someone that he would be initiating combat with soon enough. And yet, he had to remain as human as he could in these circumstances. Even if this boy was his target, Silas wouldn't let this arena change him.

He wouldn't let something like this kill the child he was.

Jumping onto the same platform as the other kid, Silas would raise his arms as if to surrender. A warm, welcoming smile was drawn faintly on his lips as he spoke,"I don't want to fight. And yet, one of us is going to have to come out of this alive." As quickly as he had looked to give up, it was snuffed out in an instant.

Dropping to the ground swiftly and holding one hand to the platform to steady himself, the boy would sweep his leg out towards his opponents in an attempt to knock him over. If successful and after he was done being impressed with himself, Silas would pounce to further wail on him with everything he had. Which, well, wasn't much. It looked more like frantic smacking then a confident game-plan.

And, if his plan of attack wasn't successful, he would do his best to duck or dodge from whatever this kid had in store for him. Though, it was more like rolling and scraping his knees a bit.

He was just a kid, after all.

Derge continued to watch the other person come closer all the while breathing through his mouth with what seemed overly exaggerated inhales. While he was taking in the air, he was also taking in something else. The environmental light, it was everywhere after all; especially with them being in the middle of a reflective substance like an ocean.

At this point, Derge didn't mind stalling even if it was the other man doing it. He would benefit from the stall at least as much as the other orphan. That's what it was, Derge was sure of it. Some sick son of a bitch was pitting orphans against each other after their parents had died. Then again it didn't really phase Derge, he was already broken long before his adoptive parents had kicked the bucket.

Derge grinned when he was asked if he was part giant, he took another deep breath as if he was going to respond. "My father liked me tall and thin, he preferred that I had a slender, feminine figure. It made him feel like was an actual man and allowed him to forgot for a moment that he was playing with a boy." he said it. At first, he couldn't believe what he had just said but then he realized that it didn't matter anyway. The other guy was going to be dead or he was going to be dead, it didn't really matter what Derge said from then on. At the very least Derge hoped that the sudden bout of honest that erupted from his mouth might make his foe hesitate for a moment.

"My name...it really doesn't matter. Call me a demon or a dragon or a being of light, it doesn't make a difference to me. Either way one of us are going to die here today." Derge said as if he had no time for such pleasantries. It was as Silas said after he jumped to the platform. The whole act of putting up his hands and pretending to surrender didn't make a difference to Derge. Derge was out to survive, he had to; otherwise, who would bring all of the shitty things that adults to kids to light. That's exactly what Derge wanted to be, what he would become. A light that would burn through all of the crap and corrupted miasma that surrounded the public figures of the world. They see evil and do nothing about it and for that, they must be punished, for they are just as guilty as the one committing the crimes.

It was too bad the other child in the arena had to die...he didn't deserve it. No! He did. The mere fact that he stood opposed to Derge, the being of radiant light that would be a symbol of the greater good. "Booos" was all Derge could get out before the foe dropped down to attempt a leg sweep like maneuver. He was slower, it appeared the speed boost either didn't apply to this type of movement or he had canceled it out to preserve some stamina. It didn't really matter, Derge lurched forward D+. A light flickered from Derge's feet propelling him forward and just above the sweeping attack. Derge fully intended to plow his entire upper body into the other child at full speed in an attempt to knock the boy into the shark-infested water.

"Uhm... that sounds pretty heavy. I'm really sorry that happened. No one deserves that..." Silas' words would trail off after the orphan spoke, a bit taken aback that he would share that much in the short time they had talked. Though, I suppose it wouldn't matter soon. One of them was to die a painful death. Perhaps to the laser sharks down below, or maybe to falling into the water and drowning.

The conclusion would emerge soon enough, it seemed, as the taller boy countered his own attack. It was something he had thought might happen, but didn't actually believe that the boy's Quirk would allow for something like it. Speaking of which... what was his Quirk? Did it have something to do with rockets, or perhaps some sort of jet engine effect? The pointing from before might have been something that would have killed him, had it not been for his friendly front. And yet, Silas couldn't even begin to place what it might be. Either way, he had to take caution. Which was exactly what he was going to do.

With the boy now rushing at him like a flighty bull, Silas' body moved instinctually. His arms were put in front of him as a shield to try to displace the 'dragon', but an idea was planted into his head when contact was made with the chest of the orphan. Even Silas was unsure if it would work, given the lack of practice he had with his own Quirk. And yet, given the dire circumstances, it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. Just the thought of falling into the water below was enough to fight back that much harder.

Negating the friction on the taller boy, Silas would attempt to force him overboard. He learned just enough in science class about physics- namely, about friction. If he was successful in removing it, all that the small ginger boy would need is-

"A little push!" If the friction on the taller boy was negated, it would make him slippery, as if he himself was coated from head to toe in oil. And, if that plan of attack to throw Silas over was all he had, he had another thing coming. If the 'dragon' had decided to keep going with his plan, Silas would just slide him off with ease. Even if he hadn't, he would find it quite hard to continue standing upright, or even to stay on the platform at all!

It was Newton's first law, of course. Anything in motion would continue to stay in motion unless acted upon by an outside force. Without that friction keeping him steady, Derge was in for a real treat!

Derge fully expected for the other orphan to try and counter his attack by using his momentum against him. Once Derge hit the foe he began pushing him back towards the edge. He was heavy, whatever caused the slip and slide movements back there was gone. At that moment Derge learned that the foes quirk didn't create a substance but rather produced an effect that made something slippery. Something to do with grip or friction most likely. It felt as if he was going to slide off of Silas but that was something Derge was able to deal with.

A burst of light energy erupted from Derge's mouth spreading out in a wave. Derge used a wide range attack at point-blank range using his opponents willingness to physically connect to his advantage. As an unintended bonus, the breath attack would propel Derge backward enough to cancel out the burst of speed from his boost attack when combined with the initial impact against the foe.

Derge found it hard to stand after the results of the previous set of attacks had concluded. It was as if he was covered head to toe in something but he wasn't. Derge didn't really know for certain that the foe's quirk was friction based but it did seem like it. To offset the foe's quirk he simply used a weaker version of his boost technique to constantly adjust himself and keep upright. The cost of the adjustments was practically zero. If Derge concentrated all of his energy in one spot he could probably use his slippery state to his advantage much like the had just moments before.

The point blank wave attack tore at the smaller ginger's face and upper body as it enveloped him in its radiance. By the time he hit the electrified water he would have likely been stunned by the attack hitting him right in the face. The water sparked and smoked when the foreign object hit it. Derge wasn't certain if that was enough to kill him but what followed next most likely do the trick. The sharks swarmed the body but instead of going into a feeding frenzy they opened their mouths and fired laser-beams at the body quickly burning it into nothing.

Derge was simply amazed at what had happened. He had missed the fact that the water was electrocuted but what seemed the strangest was the fact that the sharks were shooting laser beams. Were the sharks' actual sharks with some sort of quirk or were they machines? Derge suspected it was the latter option, that would explain the electrified water at least. "Don't worry. It's obvious the person that placed us here meets the parameters to be placed on my list of corruption. Someday your death will be avenged." Derge said turning around from the gruesome scene.
