Hiko sauntered into the arena, making her way to the top of the primary tower to meet her foe. She found a comfortable spot to wait, taking a moment to spin a little and take in the scenery "Oh I've always wanted to see the ocean! And such a lovely view... what luck!" Spreading her toes as she took a deep breath, she smiled and took a moment to appreciate the blessing she had been given. The last twenty-four hours had been such an exciting roller-coaster. There had been fireworks, and she got to meet all those other nice kids, and the nice man who had saved her seemed like such a gentleman. Somewhere deep down, Hiko knew what was happening, that all these nice things weren't so nice... that her daddy was gone... that she might be killed before the day was through... but all these negative feelings were once again drowned in her sickening positivity, smothered before they even got a chance to make her smile waiver. After all, despite everything that had transpired, this was far from the worst thing that had happened to her. Her delusions were cut short as the other combatant arrived, with a small smile and a wave she greeted him. Large oval towers stretched out of an ocean of water beneath the two fighters as they looked among the battlefield of stone platforms. She knew what came next, no grand announcer to tell them to start, no gong to signal them to fight, in cold blood they were expected to just throw themselves at each other, one would live one wouldn't. Her smile unflinching, she began to jog over to the boy, closing the distance as best as she could, carefree in each and every step as if she was approaching to embrace an old friend. Midway over her feet began to sink into the stonework of the platform, like she was moving through an ankle-deep pool of water, her body seeming to become one with the stonework. What came next was a bit alarming; As she neared two large stone fists would erupt out of the surrounding stonework, attempting to catch the orphan boy between them, all the while Hiko would continue to approach at a leisurely jog, arms at her sides, ready to embrace the boy in a hug. Death was still the only way to end this. ooc Techniques Used

Leve had stayed at the bottom of the tower for a good while, lying down an inch below the surface of the water, letting it seep into his throat and gills. Blankly, he stared off into the sky, the ocean, the horizon… wondering where it all went wrong. Was it the man who brought him and the others here, or the attack on the summit? Maybe further. Was it his father’s fault for bringing him, or the world’s fault for calling upon his father. Or was it his fault for being born… That was enough brooding. He stood up and entered the tower, scaling it with some effort. The humidity from the sea certainly helped him breathe better, but the height of this thing was beyond what he’d prefer. Diving down would be… treacherous, at the least. Survivable, but treacherous. Unable to suppress his innermost thoughts any longer, Leve fell on the steps, catching himself so he didn’t roll down. And, in a single scream full of pain and anger and mourning, Leve cried out. His father was dead. The only person, the only human, he had ever loved, who had ever loved him, gone from this world forever, and he didn’t know why. And this situation, this screwed up tournament he had to participate in represented all which he scorned humanity for… this aberration of nature which attempts to bring some sort of order, some certainty to life and death and survival. He’d live. That was his decision, his desire. He had nothing to live for, but he’d do it anyway and tear down this twisted thing people called the world. Leve drank his tears. Every drop counted. Reaching the top, he saw his opponent, and… he was caught completely off guard. She smiled and waved, and he waved back without thinking. He could feel blood rise to his face, and he blushed. Why? What the hell? He had to kill her, and he was developing a crush? Leve understood why, at least. She reminded him of his father. No matter how pessimistically he saw the world, that optimist would always bring him back, would show him a brighter side. It was excruciating at times, but now he could only look back fondly to those memories, only the warmth of his father’s smile and the sting of wishing he’d said ‘I love you’ more often. This girl, in the face of all this tragedy which beheld them, smiled. Then, she began moving, jogging, toward him, carefree-like. A side of him he’d denied, the side which was still human by nature, began panicking. Was she coming in to say hi? Attack? Ask his name? Tell him her’s? Hesitation entered him, but his instincts knew better. The ground shifted, letting him notice the fists coming at him just a little bit sooner. Without thinking, he ran leapt forward, the only direction he could without practically throwing himself off the tower. The impact and suddenness also threw him off balance, tripping him on landing his first step and tossing him to his knees. To make matters worse, this had him moving straight toward his apparent first love. Stone manipulation was her quirk, from what he gathered, and her appearance suggested she was a tough cookie herself, meaning stone transformation was probably not an effective solution. Quickly, Leve transformed his arm into water… tear water, to be precise. Forming it like a tendril, Leve thrusts his liquidy limb outward at the girl, similar to a punch of sorts with a good bit more behind it. However, that wasn’t all: from the tendril, two more branched out, one on the left and the other on the right, coming at her from a pincer formation as the original maintained its course. OOC

What a silly boy... Hiko moved closer to the boy as he tumbled out of the way of her attack. His face was all red and he was acting funny, sometimes daddy's face got red like that too, but that was usually when he was angry cause she had been a bad girl and needed to be punished. He had every right to be angry she though, she did just try to kill him after all. She didn't have much time to linger and reminisce on her lucky life, as her life was on the line too. Then came the attack... She cocked her head as his arm seemed to transform into a liquid, the change was mildly fascinating, enough so that the attack that followed caught her off guard. She tried to shift backwards, but her ankles were already absorbed into the stone below, causing her weight to topple backwards as she fell on her rear, the pincer attack colliding mere inches above her as she stared on in wonder. "Oh WOW! That's really cool" Her awe faded as she became aware of her precarious posture, hands quickly adjusting her sundress to cover her modesty as he ankles were stuck apart. Righting herself, she hopped back up and brushed herself off. Whoever this kid was, he wasn't going down without a fight. This elicited a tiny frown from the girl, she had hoped to resolve this quickly and quietly with as little suffering as possible. One way or another, this was going to hurt. ooc

Leve recalled the water tendrils, forming his arm again. As he got up, the second thing Leve noticed was that the girl’s feet were sunk into the floor. He averted his eyes as she righted herself. Biting his lips, Leve had to reconsider his strategy. With such limited space, Leve would prefer to take the fight into the ocean, but he couldn’t throw her off the tower so long as her feet anchored her. At least, not without sufficient leverage… Tightening his fist, Leve thinned out his arm, spreading it across his body, even up his neck and around his face, until he had completely surrounded himself with a thin layer of water. As his skin soaked itself in the liquid, he felt a strange strength flow into him, as if absorbing vitality from the water itself. He breathed through his gills, and it was as if he had just let go of some huge burden. Just as he completed a single, deep breath, Leve dashed leftwards, intent on circling his opponent and gain some space to attack. OOC

Hiko once again watched in awe as her foe manipulated the water contained in his arm, coating his body in a thin layer of water like a suit of armor. She was impressedwith this strategy, for whatever reason the water seemed to vitalize him, even his posture changes as he stood before her. As if in response to his own technique, the stone beneath each of them begun to shift, slowly being drawn in as Hiko absorbed the materials into her. The stone flowed through her, as if liquid in structure as she swelled in size, growing inch by inch. As he began to circle her, she turned and did her best to follow. Lifting both arms up, she increased the speed of her turning. Like a little top she spun herself, arms flailing about as a slick sheen coated her body. As she spun, her liquid stone flowed down her body, pooling at her fingertips before being flung off as high speed projectiles. Each drop narrowed into a tiny spike as the volley of projectiles scattered haphazardly in a spread around her, sacrificing accuracy for a wider spread of spikes. ooc Techs Used

Leve covered his head and neck with his arms, ducking as he continued running, a number of stone shards striking through his liquid armor and running themselves into his skin before his armor forced them out, tinting his appearance red soon after. The wounds were mostly concentrated on his right side, luckily not being able to truly damage his liquid arm, and nothing the water and adrenaline didn't mostly numb. Thinking fast, Leve picked up five shards, one of them sinking into his right forearm. He'd never done this before, but it should work. Building up pressure in his elbow, Leve let loose the sharp rock needle which shot itself toward his opponent. He felt he could do it harder, but he wasn't going to spare the time right now to figure it out. As the first left, he loaded the second one, and as that left he loaded the third, until all five had been shot at the enemy. They weren't sent as hard or fast as his opponent had done, but they were still sharp and dangerous, to some extent. So far, he'd only been on the defensive, racking up some damage along the way. Even though he was able to minimize how many stones hit home, it still meant he couldn't call to sharks if he ever made it into the ocean, nor did it bode well for a long-term fight on land. He kept moving, picking up stones as he did and launching them at her, a steady rate of fire spiralling around her as he ran, taking advantage of her apparant difficulty in turning and manuevering while sunk into the ground. Giggling slightly as she slowed her spin, Hiko wobbled slightly as she fought off dizziness. After her head stopped spinning, she looked around to assess the effectiveness of her attack. Mild disappointment filled her as she saw little in the way of orphan pin-cushions. Then Leve moved into view, and suddenly her work was visible. "Awww, I made you leak..." Her humor was cut short as she felt the stone projectiles poke into her. "OWWW Hey! No using my attacks against me... thats cheating" The tiny spikes would then begin to sink back into her, the stone rejoining it's source. Her frustration was starting to grow, she had wanted to avoid bloodshed, she had wanted to make this quick and as pain-free as she could. She really didn't want to hurt this boy, but if she didn't stop pulling her punches, he might land a lucky hit after a while... and being lucky was HER thing. Her frown turned into a scowl, she just wanted this day to be over, it was getting harder and harder to stay nice, to stay happy... she had to be a good girl, otherwise Daddy would... but Daddy wasn't here, was he? "Just... be a good boy and STAY DOWN!" Tears began to form in the corner of her eyes as she swung her hand up against the air, striking at an invisible figure with the back of her hand, almost simultaneously a large stone hand erupted from the ground in front of the speeding boy, attempting to slap him into the ground. Shi-! Leve saw the earth rise in front of him, and in a panic he tried to make a hard stop and turn, reaching out his left arm as he turned over, gripping the ground and using his strength to shove himself out of the way, if only barely. Pushing himself off on his front foot, Leve leaped forward and closed the distance between him and his opponent, punching with his left fist. Her appearance indicated that a normal hit may not be the most effective, but just because her skin was like it was didn't mean her bone structure was too different from normal. He aimed for her nose, hoping to break it and maybe cripple her ability to breath some. If anything, at least he might have some advantage in melee range since her quirk was clearly more suited than his at a distance. OOC

Hiko's eyes had begun to water, her cheery facade crumbling as she had to time and time again make attempts at another's life. The game wasn't fun anymore, she didn't want to play this murder game, she just wanted to go home. Her shoulders drooped a little as her control of the stone hand finished, letting it slip back out of her control as she looked up at her opponent, the same pitiful smile on her lips that she had worn when they first started this little dance. As he charged toward her, she simply sighed and held out her arms, offering the same hug from the very beginning. Hiko was no stranger to being hit, Daddy hit her, her classmates hit her, even other adults hit her, she knew how to take a punch from a stronger foe. Wincing slightly and bracing for the hit, she turned her head to take the punch on the cheek. It was in that split second of a moment that Hiko remembered something, a faint frustrated memory of her maybe not-so lucky life, when Daddy had grown tired of her crying, and had tried to smother her with a pillow. He had just wanted a good nights sleep, he had just wanted peace and quiet, he had just wanted it all to end... As the punch connected, Hiko let out a girlish grunt of pain and Leve would not feel the rigid resistance of stone that her appearance suggested, but a soft body, not unlike his own. In fact, her body would seem almost a little too soft, as the punch sunk deep into her. Her body moved like liquid as it mixed with his armor, attempting to swallow him into her, liquid stone moving to cover his nose and mouth. Being connected to the tower, and having drawn in a steady supply of materials over the fight, Hiko had more than enough stone at her disposal to attempt to encase the boy in her own rendition of his water armor while still retaining her own form. The stone carried her scent and faint warmth, and while it was no pillow, her intent was none the less clear... Ssssshhhh, don't fight it... Just shut your eyes and it will all be over OOC

Her smile, her open arms, that purity made Leve flinch and hesitate, but it was too late and the momentum carried his fist into her face... and then through. For a panicking moment, he thought he must have killed her. Of course, he was wrong. As his felt the softness harden around his fist, he tried to pull out quick but the liquid stone had already began to spread and... invade his armor, creeping up his arm. His water resisted, of course, but slowed it only some. He couldn't pull out now, and soon the stone began to invade his mouth and nose. For a moment, Leve thought he couldn't breath before he remembered his gills and calmed down, resisting the invasion every step of the way. The stone had covered his left gill on its way to his mouth, however his right still fed him oxygen. Bracing himself, Leve began to swallow, and the liquid stone forced his bile down as it flooded his stomach. With all his focus, he began to will the stone into his system, his watery arm mixing into a grey liquid concrete-like state. Live, he heard from the bottom of his heart, a primal craving like no other. Live. Survive. Don't die. Live. Survive. Don't die. All affection he had for his enemy was overwhelmed by this calling, and he hardened a blade of stone from his arm, bringing it down... on himself, severing his left arm. His watery armor broke through the stone around his face and attempted to catch the blood from his left arm which spilled around him. Leve hunched over, crying out in pain and determination. From his right shoulder, over which he watched with killing intent, three tendrils of water and stone formed and thrust themselves, a trident from point-blank aimed to pierce the girl's chest from various angles, covering the sides in a pincer attack similar to his first from the beginning of their bout. As the stone spread up his body, Hiko was separating herself from the mess of stone, blood, and water. Seeing his power before, she knew there was a chance he could break free of the stone, perhaps even overpower the process, either way, she didn't want to be in his face when that happened. Feeling she had earned herself a breather, she let her roots spread back into the stone below, taking in their nourishing energy as she watched the stone overtake his head, narrowing her eyes as he began to... eat? Her gut told her something was wrong, he had stopped struggling, he should be suffocating but he was just calmly swallowing stone. Though her control over the stone didn't grant her any sensory information, she could tell something was different, he was up to something... ...Then the madman cut his freaking arm off... Drawing in the nearby stone as a medium, she prepared for the worst. Her body began to swell, layers of stone covering the girl like a solid blanket as she curled up in a ball, letting the stone encase her as a larger fortified body formed around her. The spears of the water attack struck the stone, crashing like powerful waves against her rocks, but what damage was caused to her forming armor simply mended as her fortified form took shape. Like a statue being carved from marble, the features sharpened and became refined, until the bulky mass resembled her again, albeit much larger. She was reaching her limit, the stone beneath her feet wasn't filling her with the vitality it used to... she had asked too much of it already, it needed it's rest. The large armored girl rose back to one foot, taking a defensive stance on one knee, the cold blank expression of the titanic golem a stark juxtaposition of the normally animated girl. OOC

The blood loss is what will kill him. Leve kept pressure applied to his new stump via his water armor, but it wouldn't be enough. The adrenaline wasn't enough to keep him from feeling the massive absence of the limb, either, which was unfortunate. In truth, however, the usually cool and detached Leve had completely forgotten about consequence, completely enamored in the battle. He might die, that's very probable right now. He could just give up and hope his opponent survives the future... but he wouldn't. Sacrifice everything to live, and live, and live. And finally, the opportunity he had been looking for had arisen, a little later than he'd hoped for, but it was there nonetheless. The girl had left the stone floor. He'd honestly thought the floor might fall through, given what she was taking from it, but he should've known better than think the girl didn't have some way of knowing the limits of her medium. Either way, even if his chances were close to nil, he'd scramble for them. She was bigger now, and maybe he couldn't scratch her... but perhaps, just maybe, he could move her. He thrust his arm forward, and instead of the usual trident, Leve shot forth a stone-watery hook attached by a stone-watery rope, meant to grab his opponent by the arm or leg, it didn't matter. Once attached, he'd turn with a scream, reeling the hook in and adding some spin to hopefully drag the girl, his opponent, off the edge of the tower. Ten seconds until Leve bleeds out. OOC

The emotionless mask of Hiko's armor hid the true emotions of the little girl, though by the subtle twitching of her shoulders it would seem she was either sobbing, or laughing. All of this pain, bloodshed and senseless violence could have been avoided if he had just let her grant him a quick and painless release. But now the boy was maimed and close to death via blood loss. Hiko on the other hand, bore only emotional wounds, this whole traumatizing 24 hours had no time to fully sink in. Then came the hook... Hiko felt the hook secure itself around her arm, though without the ability to penetrate her armor, it wouldn't remain taught for long as it slid down her smooth arm. Underneath all the stone, Hiko shivered in revulsion at all the bloody stony water being slung in her direction, this was getting beyond ridiculous. As the hook found a point on Hiko it could snag, her top half jerked slightly, while her bottom half remained firmly planted on the ground in her defensive kneeling pose, the roots of stone connecting Hiko to the ground remaining firm despite his last ditch effort to throw her off balance. Thunk! Before the bubbly goose had the opportunity to return to his seat, another child had dropped. Due to him saving the ant child, he had missed the entire scene where the boy ripped off his own arm. All he knew was that the small boy had collapsed and had bled past saving. "I'm sorry little critter, but this is about the kindest thing I can do fer ya." The blood loss was too great for the tiny doctor to save him. A drawn out, agonizing death would be on the horizon for the orphan, if Leroy were to not intervene. With a swift CR-ack! Leroy would snap the armless child's neck. He would once again waddle towards Mercutio and the others, his head hung slightly in sorrow. |
