Thousands of species of bugs roam wildly through this open grassland. The sun is high in the sky and the air is dry and warm. Rocks and small boulders are spaced around randomly.

Glenn grunted. She felt the dirt against her cheek as she slowly came to. Pressing her palms against the grass as she slowly tried to lift herself. She tried to recall exactly what happened, where she was and what was going on now. It was all a blur, she remembered being terrified and shocked, she remembered seeing people just evaporate into red nothingness by...that man. No, that monster. Glenn sat up on her knees as her mind cleared, slowly recalling what had happened, remembering that her nightmare was actually her new reality. All because of that man, she thought to herself again. Her clothes were dirty and her accessories were all dinged up and damaged as well.

Glenn finally brought herself to stand, her sharp wings scratching at the ground as she pushed herself up. The area she was in reminded her of the african plains she'd seen several times during her stay in the country. She coughed weakly, she felt somewhat parched and her body felt sore. As she glanced around she noticed there wasn't much else in sight save a few rocks and boulders, and if she looked carefully she could see exotic bugs roaming around in their homes. Where exactly she was Glenn had no clue, she didn't even know if she was still in Africa though she may have just forgotten it, perhaps her memory was damaged or perhaps it was all the trauma causing her to forget.

She thought she saw the only other sign of life in the distance. Glenn couldn't tell exactly what or who it was aside from a crocodile, but her instincts flared off, warning her to be afraid. She considered calling out to them but wasn't sure if they saw her, or if getting their attention would be a bad idea. She also considered hiding, but considering the only place she could hide was possibly behind a big rock it might have not been a good idea. She wondered how closely related peacock were to chickens, as she certainly felt like one.

She gulped down nerves, she had an idea for what the sick man's implications were for leaving the two of them here as Glenn didn't think simply walking away was an option. Though having the same idea as that man disgusted her, surely that wasn't the only choice they had. To kill or be killed? Glenn was willing to do it, and that terrified her the most. She feared this trial would cost her her humanity. She said nothing, not calling out to the other, but she watched him, not hiding her presence from the croc man. She made sure to keep her distance, cautious to not let the man approach her if he attempted to, due to her paranoid fear.

Wosafa stared up at the blazing sun as the celestial body of fire gazed down at him. Wosafa didn't move, opting to lie there motionless, thinking. He took the time to try and remember. Remember why he was here, and what happened. He had awoken in a bizarre place, his head hurting as he raised his right arm to rub his temples. Although he didn't remember quite why he was here, he remembered one thing; his father was dead. He remembered the sight as a crimson orb disintegrated his father right in front of him. The last thing he remembered was the man who was doing the killing, his face engraved in Wosafa's mind.

Shaking his head, Wosafa concentrated. Shooting up to a sitting position, he looked around. A large bug could be seen next to where he was just lying down. He reached out and grabbed it in one swift motion. It wiggled its small legs in a futile attempt at escaping. Wosafa raised it in front of his face. The bug was a type of beetle, quite big in fact. His stomach grumbled as he tossed it into his mouth, his sharp teeth and his deadly maw crushing down on it. Its carapace was hard, but no match for the bite of a crocodile.

Wosafa stood up, a gulping noise sounding out as he swallowed the beetle whole. That species of beetle was one he knew well. In the African wilderness, he had seen such a bug before, watching the adults he was with eat it. He didn't do such a thing, disgusted by the look. For better or worse, Wosafa had gone through trials to grow up, and he wouldn't cry over eating a bug if it meant nourishment. His hunger dealt with, Wosafa stood looked around, trying to figure out what to do.

Hmmm?

Wosafa could see another person off in the distance. The man had killed many, Wosafa only seeing a percentage of people being kept alive. As he looked around, that person was the only one he could see. They were a fair distance away from eachother, yet close enough to be visible and see one another. As he squinted, he could see feathers on the person.

Is that some sort of fashion?

No, he thought, it was likely a quirk. The setting was reminiscent of a coming of age trial by fire, one where young men would be placed in open fields to fight. Although Wosafa left his village before participating in the coming of age ceremony, he had seen it multiple times.

Could that be it?

It was possible, after all. The man left them alive for one reason or another. Either way, standing there are staring at the other person would accomplish nothing. Wosafa, looked around to make sure he didn't lose anything before looked back at the person and walking towards them.

He was more intimidating now that she could see him more clearly. He was like the wild ones except he could stand on two feet, it would have been more unnerving if it wasn't somewhat common in africa, not being the first time she encountered such a xform. Though as frail as she was they were always somewhat frightening. As a child she was scolded for viewing the more frightening looking xforms as monsters such as the one before her, and all though she grew accustomed to being around them, this situation instilled the fear in her.

Once the man had neared her (about 5 meters apart from one another) she decided that was close enough, more so than she was comfortable. "Do not come any closer!" she shouted out, stepping back herself to keep the distance. her talons kicked up dirt gently as she walked back, walking in the direction she was sure was clear of any rocks, as she made note of their locations earlier. She couldn't recall being dropped here, or what she had to do with this other person but the options seemed limited and most were dark, a part of her knowing what was intended to happen between them but she couldn't bring herself to act on the thought.

To try and kill someone else.

But if not... she'd be killed, wouldn't she?

That was the whole reason they were dropped here wasn't it? That's why he didn't just evaporate them with the others, to pit them against each other in some twisted game. Her heart pumped faster as the thought filled her mind, kill kill kill was all she could hear in her head, repeating itself each time it beated. Kill or die it told her.

She extended her arm, her bladed wings spreading and reflecting in the light.

"Stay back! My feathers are sharp!" she told the other, warning him that she was prepared to make an attempt on his life, as simply attacking him was something the girl couldn't do.

Wosafa walked over to the other person, getting a better look at them. It was a girl, emerald wings hanging off of her. Looking around, Wosafa grumbled inwardly. He couldn't see a single change in scenery, it was grass plains as far as he could see. Apart from the scant stubble or rock.

After getting even closer, Wosafa could see that the girl was on guard. She watched him hesitantly, a cautious glare in her eyes. Like an animal in the hunt, she watched him as the distance between them disappeared. He was only a handful of meters away when she yelled out for him to stop.

An animal's flight zone is the area around an animal, which once encroached upon, would trigger flight. It seemed that this birdie's flight zone was 5 meters

Wosafa scowled, annoyed by her response. They were both people, despite their animal-like appearances. And yet, she acted just like an animal in the wild, ready to fight or flee the threat in front of her.

Despite taking offence to her reaction, it was not without reason. Wosafa himself had a bad feeling, as if there was some memory which he couldn't quite remember. Something that linked his father's death at the elections, the man who did it, and the reason he was here. The man brought him here, he knew that. It was easy enough to figure that out, but he felt something tugging at the back of his mind, something that made him more sure of it. At the same time, he felt like he was forgetting something else. Whatever it was, it was subconsciously messing with him.

He grew irritated. The irritation lead to a deep anger, that anger growing into a quiet rage. Just thinking about his father's death was infuriating enough. And now this woman was threatening him, warning him to stay away. They were the only people in sight, they should have been cooperating. He wanted to speak up and say that, but something was pressing down on him. He knew what was right, but something kept gnawing at the back of his mind.

Kill

The word reverberated in his head, pounding against his skull. Wosafa shook his head, trying to rid himself of those thoughts. And yet, the voice repeated. Whose voice was it? He looked up, the girl stepping back and pointing her feathers.

"Stay back! My feathers are sharp!"

Wosafa glared up at her, jaw clenched as he pressed his hands against his ears. He had already lost his mother, her face no longer recognisable to Wosafa. His father never told him about what happened to his grandfather, but he figured he was killed. His father was the only family member he had left, and now he too was dead. It was like Wosafa's world was over, and now he had been brought somewhere by the same man who killed his father. He shut his eyes, staggering side to side as he remembered the man's face. The face of that murderer surfaced in his mind, and the memory that he had been repressing was unlocked.

Looking up at the girl with her feathers in hand, Wosafa lowered his hands. He stood up straight, a more composed expression on his face. He had to fight this girl. That was why they were here. That man sent them here to fight each other.

The girl pointed her sharp feathers at him, a threatening gesture. It seemed she was ready for a fight as well. Wosafa had no enmity with this person, but at that moment, all the anger had built up, and he simply wanted to let it out. If he had to kill her to meet the man who killed his father, then he would do it. He vaguely remembered the man speaking to them, telling them about himself and why he had to kill so many people. It didn't matter to Wosafa. He could have been possessed by god himself. One day he would get his revenge, and some girl wouldn't stop him.

"Your feathers are sharp? Let us see which is sharper; your feathers, or my claws."

Wosafa snarled, kicking off the ground and sprinting towards her in a curve. He wore little more than a garb for his lower body, running with the wind towards the girl. Her elaborate clothes were pretty to look at, but Wosafa didn't imagine them being of help to her in moving around.

The look in the other's eyes, it was a predatory look and it seems he viewed Glenn as his pray. The girl had no idea what was going through the other's mind. They were both in the same situation weren't they? Glenn assumed he was an orphan now much like she was though she couldn't recall much of what happened before waking up here, trying to recall made her head hurt. Like trying to dig up memories that weren't really there, but she knew what she saw, she remembered the man in the coat attacking them.

She didn't know this man's story, but a part of Glenn was grateful he was so frightening looking. That he was so beastly and that he made his intent clear, his threatening presence that assured Glenn only one of them would leave here. If it had been one of the small children she saw Glenn wasn't sure she'd have been able to go through it, to attack and kill a small child.

This man however,,, it was hard to tell what his age was due to the nature of his quirk, he was clearly not a fully grown adult Glenn was sure of that now with the distance they had. He was far gone, further than Glenn was now in their state as his intent to kill her was more and more apparent with each passing moment. Glenn followed close behind him on her willingness to take another life. Kill him, and then kill the man who took everything away from you she told herself.

"Your feathers are sharp? Let us see which is sharper; your feathers, or my claws."

With that the man charged at her, Glenn leaped back to prevent him from getting close. She never actually fired her feathers at a person before, fearing she'd harm someone the most use her feathers got was if someone needed to chop something quickly and no knife was handy, otherwise someone trying to pet them would just receive a cut for their trouble. She practiced shooting them occasionally, but only out of curiosity. She discovered the ability on accident when she attempted to fly as a child, the wing flapping shot her feathers out in all direction, causing damage but mostly making a mess.

Now here she was, leaping back she spread her arms out and flung them forward, like a bird flapping it's wings for flight, however wiping her arms like this did not lift her off the ground, instead several feathers shot out of her wings and at the man before her, if the man was unable to evade them it'd like several knives being slicing at him in a shower of steel.

Though once the rain of her feather settled down, She started it once more, flapping her wings at him and causing another feather knife shower on her opponent as she intended to end this quickly, while refusing to let him close the distance.

"Just die! Please!" she called, not wanting the struggle to resume longer than it had to. She fought back tears, acknowledging in her mind that she was attempting to kill another person for her own sake and it made her feel sick.

Wosafa bolted forwards in a curved charge. The distance between the two of them was short to begin with, and Wosafa initiated the fight, giving him a slight advantage. The girl reacted quickly, leaping back to put distance between them as she fired out some feathers.

The feathers were visibly sharp, formed from a metallic material. That much was made clear as the feathers clanged against each other in her wings and as they dragged around like one would expect they would. Wosafa was banking on her heavy metal wings and her over the top attire slowing her down, but he didn't account for if she could fire off her feathers. The rain of sharp metal projectiles would prove to be a difficult obstacle. He jumped back, landing on the ground and putting on a solemn face as he realised that he couldn't outrun them.

"Fuck," he whined, stomping his left foot down as he twisted his body to the left. His right foot kicked out as his body leaned back. The roundhouse kick struck out in front of him, slamming into the oncoming wave of feathers. He raised his tail in front of his neck and heart. His shin hit the feathers from their sides, preventing him from receiving any injuries on his shin beyond some shallow cuts.

His cheek was less fortunate, a feather flying past it and leaving a cut. Another three feathers struck him, two of them hitting his tail. It was fortunate that he used it to defend himself, or he would have had two knife like feathers sticking out of his neck. The third feather hit his shoulder, leaving a small gash before flipping off from all the movement. The striking force of the feathers made him frown. Even with his ragged skin, covered in a natural armour of crocodile scales, her feathers could penetrate his skin and cut deep. Lowering his tail, Wosafa grimaced, about to charge at the girl again as he saw another wave of feathers coming. So that's how it is, huh?

The second wave of feathers rained down on him, Wosafa cursing as he saw it. Kicking off the ground, he jumped backwards, creating distance as fast as he could. The feathers were quick, flying at Wosafa faster than he could run away. Unfortunately for them, they had a handicap.

Wosafa was already a fair distance away from the girl at the start. He initially tried to close the gap, throwing caution to the wind as he charged at her. She responded aptly, throwing out feathers and leaping back. She had moved away from Wosafa with her leap, increasing the gap once more. As frustrating as it was, her feathers had a finite striking distance. The first volley of feathers only went so far, dropping off and hitting the ground just a short distance behind him. Now, Wosafa had no intentions of meeting the feathers with his own body. He spun around, kicking out once again. This time there were less feathers to kick, causing him to avoid much more than a few shallow cuts on his shin.

Wosafa didn't stop for a moment to sigh in relief, kicking off the ground and running at the girl once again. He was running as fast as he could, in fear that she would create too large a distance between them. He sprinted back at her in a curve once again. Blood dripped down from the cut on his cheek and the pain from his tail was weighing on his mind. The girl seemed like a machine that just shot out volleys of sharp knife like objects. It would be a real pain if she continued to simply shoot them out. What he wished for the most was to find a body of water. In there, he would be unmatched. Unfortunately, all he could see was grass in the horizon.

She drew blood, between the two of them she drew blood first. She couldn't know how affect her quirk was for combat as she never raised her hand/talon/bladed feather wings at anyone in her life before. Docile and passive as she was. But there it was, she attacked another person with the intent to kill and drew his blood. There was a disconnect from her actions to her mind, she felt no tinge of pain in her heart. As a child the thought of even harming a pet accidentally made Glenn feel awful, the ache on her guilty heart would weigh on her for several hours after.

But this...

She felt nothing at all for this.

Glenn wasn't sure if she'd of as easily gone through with her attack if it was someone younger than her, if it was one of the small children. In a way, even if the opponent was large and scary looking, it made it easier for her to disconnect him from humanity. She didn't think of his family, of where he came from or what his dreams were. She was only able to see a beast, and that made this all the easier for her. She felt her heart hardening, becoming cold, and it was perfect for this even if it disgusted her.

The damage she caused was apparent, and she felt the man could not endure much more if this kept on, hoping he'd go down soon. The man charged at her, though it didn't work out the first time it seemed he thought removing the distance would help his case. Glenn was keeping her distance, that was obvious as it seemed at range she'd have an advantage. Though maybe Glenn was more courageous than she knew, or more foolish than she thought. As the man charged at her, she slowly moved back, faking trying to buy distance, once he was close enough she suddenly dashed forward, trying to catch the other off guard.

As she moved she ducked low, staying close to the ground, she lifted her wing out. She didn't plan on a head on collision since her wings had a reach of about 2 meters, she planned to duck down and swoop past him, dashing forward and slashing at him with her sharp wing, attempting to slash at his stomach in a rather savage attempt on the man's life.

Wosafa dashed towards her in a curve. He had done this from the start to constantly stay in a motion where he was moving towards his opponent while avoiding running straight at them. This provided little help in their first engagement, wherein he was caught off guard by her ability to shoot out feathers. This time he was paying keen attention to them, ready to deal with the feathers and quickly proceed on right after.

The girl retreated back upon seeing this, causing Wosafa to pick up his pace. The distance between them shortened, Wosafa closing in on her as he reared his arm back in preparation for an attack. The girl was running rather slowly. Even with her large dress and her heavy wings, Wosafa could only chalk it up to exhaustion. Wosafa decided that that had to be it. She looked like a rather frail young lady after all.

"Shit," Wosafa though to himself as he realised he was being arrogant. The girl had spun around, dashing at him when they were rather close. She blasted forwards much quicker than before, an indicator that she was running slowly on purpose. He had expected her to shoot out feathers, giving him no time to try and jump back or bolt out of her range. Now, she had initiative once again as she aimed near his stomach with her feathers.

This was a pretty nasty attack. A crocodile's stomach was one of the weakest areas on its body, not covered in the resilient skin that the rest of its body was. The same was true for Wosafa. As the feather girl decided to come in close for the lethal strike, Wosafa too decided to gamble it all. If he died here, it would all be a waste, so he had to put it all on the line without reserving himself this time. His tail, punctured by two feathers already, swept up in front of his abdomen and upper body as a plan b. He kicked off of the ground forwards, his right arm which was already outstretched punched down, not that the feathers, but at the girl. His left arm punched out in an uppercut around waist level, colliding with the tail. His left fist tensed up, the metal wings and his rugged scale covered fist collided with the feathers from underneath, a muffled clanging noise ringing out as they met each other. The wings' momentum were stopped, Wosafa's fist buzzing in pain as he held it close to his chest.

A dozen small cuts were visible on his fist. Wosafa grimaced. Even though he used his upper torso to deal with the attack, he was the only one who received an actual injury. Those metal wings were being a real pain. Wosafa's right fist still flew out, his torso twisting as he reached out and put his upper body behind the attack. It flew forwards toward her head which was outstretched as she had ducked and charged at him. His left foot was ready to kick off and jump back, afraid that the wings he just hit would suddenly fire off more feathers.

Her attack worked, though the other was surprisingly quick with his tail, despite the short distance Glenn left between them when she attacked he was fast enough to defend himself with his arm and tail. His scales limited the damage her knife wings caused. He was persistant much to Glenn's dismay. It mattered not, he'd die here. Glenn was committed to it now, however the more he struggled the more she felt herself slipping further and further into a place she feared she'd never return from.

It was obvious he wanted to live, but that made it clear to her that he was willing to kill her if that's what it took, which meant she couldn't afford to hesitate even if this act was disgusting her. If leaving here alive meant sacrificing her humanity...

She looked frail and docile and this no doubt caused the other to underestimate her, which worked greatly for the woman. Due to the nature of her previous attack, she spun her body at the end of her dash, twisting her upper body to try and drive the wing deeper into the chest, but as she met with resistance from the arm and tail she was unable to proceed how she wanted, unable to drive the wing deeper into the stomach, however the moment did help her with the second attack. As the punch reached down at an awkward angle due to the wing that was obstructing it, the other wasn't able to get a clean strike on her head, the two meter distance and the movement from the other protected the girl, receiving most of the attack on her arm as she rolled forward.

It hurt, with how frail her actual body was, however Glenn wasn't sure if she broke anything due to the attack, if she did her adrenaline prevented her from noticing now. She couldn't check herself however, she has to continue her attack and press the other. She dived right back in, refusing to allow the other a moment's repose as she tried to attack him once more, hoping to overwhelm the other with a nonstop onslaught of attacks. She held her wing out as she charged, trying to impale him on it in a simple barbaric attack.

Wosafa fist struck down, aiming for the girl's head. She spun, dashing to the side and narrowly avoiding the punch, using her arm to shield herself from it. The hit landed, albeit with less force than he would have hoped. She had been too quick, and her surprise attack gave her a large advantage in that exchange of blows right then. His left foot still poised to jump back, he jumped back right after connecting the blow. Wosafa stared intently at her with a wary mind as he moved back. She was a real pain in the ass to deal with after all.

At the very least, he had finally hit a punch. The crocodillian had to stretch awkwardly for it to succeed, causing the impact to be softened. Even with his large and rough fists, he doubted it was a serious injury. It was then that the girl did the unexpected once again. She spun around as he jumped back, dashing after him. The distance between them was short. Wosafa wanted to disengage for a quick second to gain a better position, but she relentlessly pursued the fight.

Wosafa's anger was starting to subside, but it seemed like this girl wasn't going to give him a chance to cool off. Wosafa's feet landed on the ground as he raised his right knee and kicked out while leaning back. She swung out at him, her heavy metal wings cutting through the air. There wasn't much behind the swing, a sign of her exhaustion. Wosafa was getting quite tired as well, but he wasn't going to give out quite yet. His right foot flew out in a focused attack, aiming for her chest. Her attack was simple and left her overexposed as he got a good look at it. Lugging around a bunch of metal feathers seemed to be getting to her. She dived forwards in a last ditch attempt, causing her to deliver herself upon his kick.

A kick to the chest was simple and effective. There was once a kooky old man in his home village who travelled around. He often talked about himself like a martial artist master, acting as if he could attack pressure points to kill a fully grown tiger. Of course, such a thing was impossible, and yet, Wosafa once saw him fighting another man in the village. A small dispute lead to a confrontation, and even with the man's frail and skinny body, one swift strike to the chest left the other man stumbling back and gasping for breath, unable to breath momentarily. Wosafa intended to do the same, except delivering the attack with the body of a 7 foot, 250 pound crocodillian in his youth.

One thing Glenn was a fan of in her youth was the belly dancers, growing up in the country left her plenty of opportunities to learn, it was so exoitc how they moved their bodies like water, not just their hips but the arms and they way the torso shake and moved, it was mesmerizing to the girl in her youth, absolutely adoring it. Though she had to make sure she always danced with room around her, her wings swinging around with her that she was prone to damage or knock things over, and get a firm scolding for it also.

Though she never thought to apply the dance to situations besides...well dancing. But now, well now she figured it was the most opportune time. Her movements were unusual and confusing, twisting and bending like a water flow, her lower body remained still as her upper half bent back, the other's swing only grazing her, the claws on the other's leg cutting her robes and her stomach, but not causing much damage. She then twisted herself, leaning forward to catch the rising leg, She swung herself to the right, moving away from the rising leg, but as she did she lifted her arm.

With the distance the man left, dodging would be difficult as he left almost no distance between himself with the girl for his kick. Her wings spread out, rising up between the man's leg in a rather brutal attack, Glenn obviously having no more patience or remorse for the other as her dance led into a rising uppercut with the razor sharp wings leading it. She attempted to simply cleave the man up the middle, Twisting her body as she rose in her strange dance like fighting style she kept hidden. Though not only to her opponent but seemingly to herself.

The girl spun around, narrowly avoiding Wosafa's kick. His sharp claws grazed her body, causing shallow cuts. As his foot was still out, she continued to spin, moving closer to Wosafa as she slashed her wings up. Wosafa swore under his breath as he tried to raise his arms out in front of him in defence. A few thoughts ran through hid mind, but he had too little time. He couldn't stop this attack. He kicked back and raised his left foot while his right leg was still in the air.

"Shit," Wosafa let out as the wings soared at him, slashing against his futile attempt at defence. He flew back like a kite with its string cut. His left foot tried to kick out at her, a pointless attempt to hurt the peacock. His body made a thud as he dropped to the ground. He landed face down, trying to push himself up. He struggled to get on his feet, gashes on his arms and tail. As Wosafa tried to move, a wave of pain ran through him. The adrenaline was running off, and he was starting to feel the pain from all his cuts. Blood dripped from his fists, his forearms, his shins and his tail. He couldn't even reach out his right arm due to a gash on his shoulder. He reached his left arm out, trying to crawl forwards, but exhaustion swept over him as he passed out from blood loss.

Glenn's talons planted back onto the ground after her attack landed, the kick landing and hitting her wing, brushing it aside but it seemed she got most if not all of her hit. She panted and heaved, her wings dropping low to the ground now as her exhaustion was apparent. She watched him hit the ground, preparing to leap on him and finish him off before he could rise, to push herself beyond her limits. She saw him reach a hand out and then...

He collapsed, lying still. Glenn watched him carefully, fearing a ruse. She saw blood slowly pool around the other, and with no sign of movement she lowered her arms. From this close distance she saw exactly how large the other was and was amazed she lived through their confrontation. She backed away slowly, keeping her eyes on his body the entire time due to paranoia. Her whole life she saw her wings as a problem, pretty to look out but dangerous to touch, they were too heavy for her to even try and fly with them. All they were good for was knocking things over, cutting and breaking stuff and she hated them.

This was the only time she could think of them coming in use. The only thing they were good for. Taking someone else's life. She felt empty and cold, despite the sun beating down on her. Only now that the battle was over did she really feel the exhaustion, her heart beating rapidly and her body covered in sweat. She panted softly as she tried to catch her breath, glancing around when she was a good distance away from the other, not fearing a surprise attack from this distance.

But she saw nothing.

She could pick a direction and begin walking but...

Would she die out here? Of dehydration? If that was the man's plan she admit it was clever in a cruel way. She stood dumbfounded. Waiting for...something. She didn't know what. A sign or anything to let her know what to do next...but she saw nothing, simply standing there.

The false reality they saw faded in a moment as the Croc would see motionless orphans standing around them and a few people sitting in a group watching them all. As Croc collapsed and fell, chickens with cute little nurse's hats appears and began to doctor him and he could see other others begin tended to with a goose wandering around telling them all what to do.
