"That stings, lay off ma-- aaahh ouch ouch"

Two men sat in a quaint local coffee shop, which had a homely feel. Despite the small size and atmosphere, it was rather busy, people of all sorts walked in and out, so these two men were hardly suspicious. One man was fairly big smoking a cigarette, whilst the other was slimmer and had large ram horns protruding from his head. The man with horns was rubbing a spot on his arm, which was slightly red.

The man who was smoking was Rainer, an aspiring bounty hunter and the man across the table was Pann, his companion who followed him. They were currently situated in some rural town. After a brief stint in Tatooin, the men found work and had headed here for it. Just minutes earlier, they were talking about the job, some local gang members had been using their quirks to commit various crimes, and someone in this town with some money to spend wanted the peace to be restored, so him and Pann were here to cut off the head of the snake so to speak. While talking, Pann had risen his voice a little and Rainer grabbed his arm tightly and whipsered "Shut up, you're too loud." Normally he wouldn't care about the people around him, as most people mute out the surrounding sounds and just pay attention to their own business during these hours, but he had a bad feeling that someone was listening to them and leaned in towards Pann "Let's leave." As they left through the door, Rainer looked back, wanting to get a glimpse of whoever it was that he was sensing, but decided against it and they walked down the street towards their destination.

"That'll be..." A tall, lanky boy standing behind the cash register began to speak, but stopped abruptly after being interrupted by the semi-loud crash of cash and change being tossed on the front counter. He stopped his response, rolling his eyes, and placed the funds into the cash register. “Sheesh...”

After placing the payment down, the masked teenager turned from the spot, taking a nearby seat as he awaited his order. His tattered red hood laid over his head, walking in in restaurants and stores with a mask was never quite easy to do, and the last thing he wanted to do was attract unwanted attention. He sat softly down at the edge of a booth, sliding his legs within the space and sat with an arched back and head down. The boy had only ordered a water, but the place was kind of busy, so he still had to wait for it. Madoka sat in silence, all the other voices and conversations around him mostly blending into an intangible concoction of mixed speech. He crossed his arms against his chest, now leaning back a bit as he dived into a pool of thoughts.

Awaiting his order, he couldn’t help but take the time to just kind of “relax” and think. Only a week had passed since he fight with his so called “rival” Roy, and the incident really did change the boy’s perception of his lifestyle and what went on around him. The dark clouds that hovered over the boy’s mind remained, but light was always slipping in. It really was such a strange feeling and journey, hoping to find oneself by yourself, but having to deal with outsiders who wanted to change that and mold their feelings into it. After losing his family, there wasn’t anyone else left he cared about. Yet, he always found himself getting involved with people. Being 16 and confused is just about as common as things get, but being alone at the age wasn’t making the challenge easier. He’d be soon setting his journey to find himself, a few plans were made but not certain. The image of U.A. bounced in his head, would he get the chance to ever attend? He hadn’t made the exam deadlines, and very soon the tests were about to begin. Though, despite not making it in time, he wasn’t out of luck quite yet. Many people still made it into U.A. through various other reasons, so giving up wasn’t really an option here. Though, as the days passed, he felt more and more unsure of his feelings for the school. He wasn’t going to be some stupid cool hero or to impress anyone. He wanted to grow stronger, to grow, and to find out what he wanted. For some reason he was unsure of, his mind mind held onto the idea that U.A. was going to be the answer here.

“Hmm?” Madoka ears twitched, his low set eyes widening just slightly behind his mask. The boy tilted his head over just a bit, his train of thought being interrupted by a few words that mixed into the mosh-pit of responses he was hearing around him. He turned a bit further now, crimson red eyes illuminated behind the darkness of his hood in the direction of the source he had just overheard. Two young men sat at a table in the center of the coffee shop, whom of which he’d never seen or heard before. He wasn’t aware of their entire conversation, but was able to make out a few details thanks to one of the two speaking a bit loudly.

“Gang hmm?” Madoka sat in silence, the words echoed through his brain. He watched carefully as the boy sitting next to the other smacked his arm rather hard, a sign that he may had said some stuff he wasn’t supposed to. The two quickly sprung from their seats, and made a pathline to the exit. Normally he wouldn’t care about the sorta thing, but he had decided this time to try and act otherwise. He slowly and quietly rose from his spot, walking behind the two who left, staying far enough back to seem non-suspicious but close enough to visualize them. He left the coffee shop just as the boy had finally gotten his water. He cursed beneath his breath, taking the liquid and tossing it in the trash next to him.

"What was that?"

Pann was confused. In his time with Rainer, they had been through various situations where he had acted like that, often when their lives were in danger, but this time he really couldn't tell what the problem was. Suddenly, Rainer said something in a hushed voice "I think we're being tailed, play along with what I say." Pann was fairly nervous but he was used to being put in tough situations and kept his composure the entire time.

Suddenly, Rainer started talking out loud as if none of that happened, "You can't just talk about the job with so many people around. Listen, let's turn down here, I'll tell you the plan and when we'll take action." Pann nodded, and they turned into an alleyway. Rainer had a bad feeling, and deduced that the person following them was likely from the gang which they were targeting. He fed them some bait as they were talking just then, and right after turning the corner pushed up against the wall waiting for whoever was tailing them to show up. Truthfully, he would have just turned around and confronted the person, but it hadn't been too long since the last time he assumed someone was out to get him, and had attacked two young teenage girls with Pann in an alley much like the one he was in now. So he decided on waiting them out, and if someone truly did turn the corner, then they would deal with that. Since they had left the shop, Rainer had been slowly building up smoke under his coat, and now he brought it out, covering his arm, ready to blast someone away. Pann stood there horns at the ready, heart beating waiting to follow up.

Carefully, Madoka trailed the two boys from the shop to the outside world. Not surprisingly, the sidewalks and roads were sort of busy, letting him blend into the crowd quite easily. Many of the pedestrians walked quickly and quietly, but the sound of vehicles filled that gap. He took each step ahead of him lightly, doing his best to stay in visual and hearing distance. The deep shaded red hood of his still lapsed over his head, his most common casual look.

Despite living in a world full of quirks, heroes, and power, people still didn’t care for the whole mask thing. This was self explanatory, usually one wearing a mask was either a villain or hero. More likely a villain. Despite this accusation, Mr. Arashi aligned with neither of these classifications. His daily goal was not to protect the peace nor disrupt it. Instead, he balanced both characteristics of these “qualities” held by both parties, kind leaving him in the middle of it all. Some days he found his mind boggled down with dark thoughts and harsh intentions, while others he saw through different eyes and perspectives, helping those who he deemed fit for help.

After a few minutes of tailing the boys, the dark headed of the two had finally spoke. His voice was unusually loud, as if he wanted someone to hear him. This definitely left Madoka feeling uneasy about these two guys, but his mind was set. Only a few steps later the the two turned to the alleyway. His vision of them had halted. Quietly, Madoka cursed under his breath, knowing he had kinda messed up. Without eyes on the two, he was unsure of their next turn maybe it be a secret passageway or the two just outpacing him. Before he continued, he decided to briefly cover what he knew so far.

It was obvious the two knew each other, they could possibly be brothers or just friends. With this in mind, he knew that if the two were up to something and he got involved, it’d be a one vs two. That truly wasn’t his style of fighting, so at all costs he’d avoid physically engaging with the two. He didn’t have names or ages, but the two seemed close to each other in terms of looks. The white haired horned boy seemed a bit taller, possibly he was the older of the two, but he wasn’t far off either. The darker haired buy seemed to be the “leader” of the two, talking more often than his friend. The two wanting to be involved with gangs wasn’t quite ordinary, but as his life continued on, it was becoming abnormal to see normal things.

He neared the alleyway where the boys had just slipped off into, debating if he should follow the two or just leave them be. Now that he thought about it, following them any further down the alleyway could've been bad news. They’d easily notice him right away and ruin his chance to see what exactly was going on. Only a step away now he decided to….

Madoka came into view of the alleyway. With his hood still over his head, his eye took a quick journey to their side then jetted back to their previous location. He caught a glimpse of the two with their back against the nearby building, one of his thoughts were true, they were aware of him following them. Though, he wasn’t quite sure if they knew HE was tailing them. He casually continued his path, doing his best to avoid his eyes being seen and just simply stepped forward and then some. A few civilians followed behind him, maybe he’d blend in well enough.

"I don't know, the guy in in the red hood is obviously a suspicious individual, but he doesn't look like any of the gang members, and the last thing you'd want to wear while following someone in public is a get-up like that." Rainer and Pann were sitting in a room inside of a small hotel, he peered out the window, looking out at the rural landscape, it was getting dark and in an area like this it was completely quiet outside, unlike the areas he usually visited in America. Sadly, his time of relaxation would have to come to and end, he motioned to Pann, who quickly wolfed down his croissant and they headed out.

Walking past the front desk, he grabbed a mint and popped it into his mouth as Pann was in the washroom. He looked around intently, never having shaken off the feeling of someone watching him. He was wondering who that guy in the red robes was, he was a shady individual, and Rainer couldn't get the image out of his head. Was he following them? Is he associated with that gang? Was he there to kill Rainer? Whatever it was, he shook away the thoughts as Pann came out, giving Rainer a nod.

Leaving the building, they walked beside a road for a few minutes, looking over their shoulders here and there, before hearing some talking coming over from the forest to their right. Moving in close, their crouched down beside a tree. "Hah! You shoulda seen the look on her face!" Two men were walking out from within the forest, conversing about something. Finally emerging from the forest, one of them stopped in place for a second, which in turn led to the other man turning around and asking "What's wrong?"

"You got a light?" The man reached for his pocket and took out a cigarette, looking over to the other man. A light flicking noise came from somewhere, and a light appeared right next to the one with the cigarette, revealing Rainer, lighting his pipe. "Yeah, I do." He stood there, calm, inhaling a breath of smoke and closing his eyes, head tilted up at the sky. The two men staring at him in shock, frozen in place, waiting for him to move. Suddenly, he opened his eyes, and gave the two men a smile, before one of them got tackled to the floor by Pann who was idly standing on the other side, followed by Rainer blasting the other with smoke, using it to hold him tightly by the neck. With one of them unconscious on the ground, Pann walked over to Rainer, who was interrogating the other man, holding him up by his neck with smoke. "It's the truth! I swear! Let me go please man-" before he could finish Rainer slammed his head into the ground, and threw his unconscious body over to the other guy. Motioning to Pann, they went deeper into the forest, following the directions that the one Rainer strangled gave them.

With luck seeming to be with him, he wandered past the gap without a retrace of the two boys, continuing down the street just a tad bit further. He slowed down, turning his shoulder and head, eyeing the spot the boys were against. He wasn’t able to see the two leaning against the wall, but their two large shadows that splat out on the sidewalk remained. Madoka stopped now, placing his arm against the building adjacent to him, watching the two blackened objects from a distance. After only a few seconds, the two disappeared back into the confines of the alleyway.

“Hmm..don’t think I’ve been noticed yet…”
He thought to himself, taking his palm off the wall he leaned against. With the two guys moving on from their position, he decided it was best to do the same. The masked boy looked around for a bit, debating on his next move. He couldn’t simply follow the two down the alleyway, that was out of the question. An idea popped into the teenagers brain, the boy immediately followed the thought by a quick stretch of his arms and legs, looking up at the building next to him.

“If I can’t follow them down here…” he paused, sprinting towards the hard, flat wall ahead of him. He leaped a couple of feet from the structure, planting his foot carefully into the ground then again on the wall. Using the momentum and force together with a bent knee, he launched again in the opposite direction. With his arms held high, he took ahold of the small ladder that led to the staircase to the top of the building. The ladder was nearly to high for him, his right arm being the only one able to reach its surface. He hung from the ladder one-handedly, his legs kicking a bit as he dangled downwards. A few of the pedestrians stopped and stared, a few kids even began to point at the masked boy location.

“Mommy, is that a hero?” the little boy asked, tugging on his mother's side while his other hand flew skyward, pointing at the young masked boy hanging from the hanging ladder.

Madoka looked down briefly, shaking his head in relief. Without wasting much more time, he swung his other arm back up, locking both palms onto the metal. Skillfully, the boy swung forward once, then twice. On his third swing with a strong momentum following, he leaped from his spot and landed atop the adjacent staircase on the same level, but landed on it’s base instead of ladder. His feet were soft and only caused a slight rattle, he plopped down on the structure with a bent knee to prevent an excessive force and noise. From there, he paced up the staircase and onto the top of the building.

The young mother below caught a glimpse of the buys eye’s beneath the mask, a glowing red. She squinted a bit, responding softly to her child from before.

“I’m not so sure honey”

He was now standing atop the roof of the building connecting one side of the alleyway to the other. He took the moment to catch his breath, the maneuver he did wasn’t too exhilarating but still wasn’t one an average civilian could perform. After the brief pause, he stepped towards the buildings edge to try and get vision on the two boys. He watched from above as the two walked across the alleyway, then off into a small, nearby hotel. Madoka followed, leaping from the very small gaps of each building, his pace nice and calm. He stopped at the edge of the last building, one just across the street of the hotel. From there he decided to wait and see what the boys were up to. Trying to get into the hotel with them inside would be dumb at this point, he was almost sure the boys have at least spotted his outlandish red cloak from earlier. So, he took the time to sit against the edge of the place, his feet dangling down below him. He leaned back a bit, taking in the cool air through the few gaps and holes of his mask. A perfect time to rest up, think of a strategy, and relax.

After maybe 30 minutes or so, the boys emerged from the hotel front doors. The wandered off once again in the opposite direction of Madoka, towards the forested areas that connected with the backside of nearby street ending. Quickly, Madoka rose from his spot and leaped from the roof. He roared in the sky for just a mere second then found himself on the opposite buildings wall. He carefully placed his foot down against it, sliding down just a bit. With his other, he kicked off of that wall, landing again on the opposites. He repeated the process twice more, until finally landing perfectly onto the sidewalk. Despite the decisions he had made thus far, he was still able to get in some good practice balancing himself and using the area to his benefit. A way to practice on the run.

He walked ahead, watching the two lead into the forested clearing right before the thicket began. Two other men also made their journey, but out out of the forested location. Soon enough, the group crossed paths and Madoka watched as he grew more near and near, the two boys manhandling the men that stepped from the trees. It looked as if they had ambushed them, just simply beating them to the ground and leaving the guys motionless in the grass. The two didn’t seem to waste time and made their own way into the forest now.

Madoka quickly began sprinting now, his arms flying behind him as he leaned forward to be as aerodynamic as he could. His footsteps were soft and quick, like those of a skilled ninja. He made it to the unconscious men in the grass, taking a look down at their motionless bodies. Immediately following, he turned, noticing a couple of what seemed to be police heading his way. He knew the officials would take care of these two “victims” or “suspects”, he he turned, disappearing into the brush after the two boys.

"We should be getting close, watch out." Rainer and Pann slowly crept their way deeper into the forest, making their way to the location that they learned of. The area around the forest only housed a small population, and no one would enter the forest at night, so only the sound of nature was present, a beautiful melody of chirps and crickets in the dark woods. As Rainer and Pann got deeper and deeper into the forest, the quiet would occasionally be broken by loud noises and voices, laughter and hollers would echo around, putting Rainer on edge.

"4"

As time went on, they encountered more and more men. Right then they had encountered the 4th person which they'd taken out since coming here. If given the opportunity, they would simply wait it out and use stealth rather than brute force, but sometimes they had to resort to other measures. On the bright side, it seemed that they had passed a barrier, wherein men patrolled the perimeter of their area, but were unguarded once you got inside. Time was ticking and they wanted to get in and get out quickly, so they picked up the pace. Hastening their movement came with downsides, but Rainer and Pann thought that surely the area was empty, and even if they neared people, they would surely hear them with all the loud chatter and commotion.

As Rainer and Pann neared their destination, Rainer got more and more paranoid, thinking that someone was nearby, he just couldn't shake the feeling of being followed this entire time. Suddenly, Rainer stopped, patting Pann, standing there silently, slightly crouched down.

SNAP!

The sound of a twig snapping sounded out, and Rainer reacted instantly, unleashing a shot of smoke which he had held in his arm the entire time. "Ah!" The noise of commotion and collective confusion appeared, as multiple men were made visible, dazed and looking around. One of the men charged Rainer, who sent another shot of smoke knocking him away, but before he could continue-"Ow!" Three men had ambushed Pann and held him hostage with a knife to his neck. The man who Rainer initially shot stood up, looking at Rainer "Hold on there cowboy, I'm in a good mood so I'll just hurt you a lil' bit and let you go, sound good?" He walked forward, laughing, and so were the men behind him. Rainer was hesitant, him and Pann could take on these 3 or 4 guys, but the fact that 3 men were also on the other side of them, caught Pann by surprise and jeopardised the situation. Looking Pann in the eye, he saw resolve, Rainer trusted in his partner, something he had formed over multiple years and nodded. Turning around, he looked back at the man walking towards him and stared him dead in the eye, before dashing forwards and sent out a smoke blast, praying that Pann would figure out his situation somehow.

“Left, left, right, left, right…” Madoka mumbled, light footsteps patting away at the leaves below him, producing a soft crunch. Each step was precise and carefully timed, at the time he was just a little behind the group and the trees before the clearing were abundant. While each step was accounted for, his movements from his torso and limbs followed just as smoothly, carefully sliding, waving, and spinning past each tree trunk that ran his way. As he sprinted forward, Roy crossed his mind, causing him to jolt even faster. The dark storm cloud that hovered over his brain continued to roar, thinking of the devil angered him.

As the masked fighter dashed through the grove, the natural sounds of the nocturnal animals and chilling winds began to mix. “Hmm..?” he mumbled, a yelp reaching out into the skies. A cluster of dark birds scattered from a tree not too far ahead of him. Soon after, another scream seared his surroundings, something was definitely going on here. The whole time he had been sprinting, he hadn’t ran into a single soul. Though, he did follow the light trail behind the boy, it was a possibility that the men or women might of been dealt with earlier.

Bright red irises illuminated through the trees, the moon was out and flected the light from his shining oculars.

“Light…” He spoke softly

The light that illuminated from the satellite above them meant that the three’s were dispersing. Beforehand, he was unable to see much of any light. Now that the glimmer was visible, it wouldn’t be long till he hit a true clearing.

Another shout came, but this time, the voices were clear. Madoka immediately stopped, sliding against the grass and placing his back against a nearby trunk. With his spine pressed against the wood, he peeked his head out to the side, hoping to see what was going on. From his position, he watched as a small group of what must of been the “gang members” hold the white haired boy with a hold of some sort, a knife pressed near his jugular. His empty, sly words slipped through Madoka’s eardrums then popped right through the other. The gang member’s speech meant nothing to him, he did not know the boys. Instead, more or less the fact of being outnumbered troubled him more. Using numbers because one was too weak was such a shitty way to go about things, at least this was in Madoka’s mind.

He swung his body back completely behind the tree, taking a deep breath. As he exhaled, a trail of translucent powder oozed from his wrist, dispersing into the air around him. Suddenly, the winds around the masked boy grew rapid, violently swinging around his body left and right. His cloak fluttered up, down, left, and right. His hood remained off his head now, revealing the all white mask and the red hue beneath it. The winds pushed and curved against Madoka’s backside, he knew this time was different than the others.

Speed Change

With one simple stomp and kick off, Madoka jetted from behind the thick trunk straight into the battlefield. The harsh winds kissed his back, causing him to maneuver even faster and sharper than he ever had. His constant training and most recent fight had presented the boy with a new top speed, one that felt great. It was only a matter seconds before he found himself just a foot or so from the nearest thug. He lashed forward, striking a powerful fist to the man's stomach while watching the bout, catching him by surprise. With the air escaping from his lungs, the man instantly hunched over, cupping his stomach, fighting the urge to hurl. Using this to gain another opportunity, Madoka planted his foot on the back of male, kicking off the man and sending him flying into the grass below him heaving for oxygen. Soaring with his winds, Madoka launched himself to his next target, planting his knee into the gentleman's shoulder with a great force. The gangster instantly crumbled beneath him, gripping his shoulder tightly with pain. The masked man eye's continued to glow a deep red, like an animal in the night. He was already onto the next thug, moving swiftfully through the night. He paid no attention to the hostage and the other boy, either they saved themselves with the distraction he provided or they’d perish from the men ahead of them.

Rainer unleashed his smoke blast, knocking the idiot approaching him a good distance away and staggering the men behind him, the smoke lingered creating a cloud which obscured vision, Rainer was about to charge forwards, not daring to look at what was happening to Pann, for once he felt scared for the well-being of his friend, and didn't want to face the reality of the situation, but suddenly- "Ah!" A voice rang out from behind Rainer and so did the sound of fighting, he smiled, socking someone who was running at him in the face, but then he heard another voice, and another, looking over, he saw a blur jump past him, towards the group of enemies he was about to fight. "A Demon!" "Run!" Screams rang out, and then suddenly it went quiet. Pann was at Rainer's side now, looking around the area, and Rainer was staring intently at the smoke in front of him dispersing.

"You..." Rainer got a good look now of the person who took out all the men, it was the same person who they had seen back on the streets, he wore a red tattered cloak and had a bizarre face- wait no, he wore a white mask, and his eyes glowed slightly red. So Rainer was right about being followed. Now that he knew they were followed out here, he was confused as to why. He clearly wasn't with those men, because he just took them out, and likely wasn't here to kill Rainer, as he would have just done so and left Pann to be killed by those other men, could he have been hired to kill this boss as well? That was also highly unlikely as there was little reason to not tell both parties that they were going to take out this boss. His suspicions grew deeper and deeper, so he asked "Who are you, and why are you following us? I've got a job to do, so I don't have time for games." He gathered smoke in his right hand and spoke in authoritative tones, this masked person was clearly fast and he could only hit him in an open area like this with preparation and prediction.

Zipping past each thug was becoming more and more fluent with each second he spent doing so, practice always makes perfect. Surprisingly enough, the amount of goons here were definitely high, something serious must of been going on in these woods. Each of the men held little to no fighting effort, it was becoming obvious that these were just the pawns.

Another decoy was stricken down with a swift strike to the leg from the masked boy and this time he was definitely in vision of the two boys from earlier. He spied from the corner of his peripherals as the dark headed boy produced a smoke infused explosion, a potentially powerful quirk in the makes. Though, Madoka only took slight note of this, he hadn’t planned on attacking the boys yet, but if they did he was most confident he could take down at least one of them.

Flying past the pair, he heard the dark haired boy speak to him again, questioning his reasoning and presence. Madoka continued on his first path, taking down another member and another. A few seconds later, he crossed paths with them, this time sprinting right next to the dark haired boy Rainer and speaking darkly.

“Don’t get in my way or I’ll do the same to you…” He spat, passing them up swiftly once again. The wind at his back seized now, his speed lowered back to his base form. Though, even without the wind at his back he was still quite fast, but not quite fast enough to take out the goons like he did earlier.

His next dash was sent towards a nearby tree, placing his foot atop its base then soaring skyward. With palms open and arms raised high, he took ahold of the highest branch he could reach, pulling himself up to the top of it. He jumped again, yanking on the next branch until reaching a safe, hidden vantage point.

Now perched on a branch hidden behind darkened leaves and twigs, he took the time to stop and regain his stamina. All of the running had left him a bit tired, so staying hidden at the top of a tree was the best place he could think of to catch his breath. Kneeling down followed by slight heavy breathing, the masked teenager carefully watched the battlefield below to the best of his abilities. He could barely see the two boys from earlier, but barely was enough here. A small trail of weakened men littered the grass beneath him, their numbers were shortening.

“Hmm..now where is the real threat?” he questioned to himself, once again scanning the area for nearby threats. These men here were more than likely here just to stall for time, to wear out those that were after the real problem. Still searching for the trump card, Madoka ear’s twitched at the sound of a siren off into the far distance. “They’ve must saw the man the boys took out earlier. “ He said to himself, looking back from where he had arrived. “They won’t be getting here anytime soon, I’ll just stay until the police arrive.”

For now, Madoka Arashi stayed put in his position, still searching for the next big trouble to pop up. It’d be really irritating if he had come all this way just to take out a few pawns, what kind of game would that be?

“Don’t get in my way or I’ll do the same to you…” The area had went quiet for a brief moment before more and more men appeared, it seemed as if Rainer had poked a hive and the bees were coming out, but thankfully this masked kid had appeared and started taking down these men one by one. He zipped around at blinding speeds, Rainer watched on, as he leaped up towards a tree, disappearing into the darkness. A loud blaring sound came out from behind them, which Rainer quickly realised was the sound of sirens. It was possible that someone stumbled across the unconscious bodies of the men they took out, which however unlikely that was, if that meant losing the opportunity to complete this job, he wouldn't take the risk.

"Let's get moving, these guys might get scared by the sirens and lay low somewhere else if we let them get away." Pann looked up, seemingly thinking about the masked man, but came to the same conclusion that Rainer likely did. The masked man seemed to be helping them for some reason, but was also unopposed to fighting them on a whim. Either way, if he helped them take down the boss then that was welcomed, and if he for some reason decided to fight them then they would deal with that, but right now wasn't the time to worry about it, especially when he's so fast and hiding where they can't see.

Moving forwards, they continued on, using brute force rather than stealth, taking down the leftover men which the red cloaked man didn't. Time went on, and after some more travel, they reached a clearing which made visible a large building, which seemed to be some old abandoned facility used for some industrial purpose, built in these isolated woods away from most people, but now it was home to a medium sized gang that affected various nearby towns. With most of their men either out at different towns, or watching the perimeters, the actual building itself had only a handful of people at the entrance, but two of them were distinct. Rainer and Pann recognised the two, they were provided in the info they received for the job, both men had simple x-form quirks that granted them powerful physical strength, quite frankly Pann and Rainer had planned to sneak past them and take out the boss 2 on 1, but the situation had changed and now they had to improvise. Rainer walked up out of the clearing, the men noticing him, Pann was confused but he followed. The two groups stood facing each-other, one of the large x-form men shouted "You better last kid! I want to have some fun!" To which Rainer turned around and shouted at the forest, "Hey you masked bastard! If you help take out one of these big guys and the boss, I'll give you a portion of the pay!" With that, he turned back around, forming a mass of smoke around his right arm, Pann smiling after hearing what he yelled.

A few minutes of rest felt heavenly and being able to see what was all going on from above sure felt assuring to the young man. Below him was a serious showdown between life and death, yet, he felt at peace above and away from everything. Not long after his disappearance from the battlefield, the pair of boys were on the move again. The two fight roughly with the pack ahead of them, taking them out one by one. Their tactics were unlike those the masked boy used, instead of carefully looking for weak points and preserving their energy, they instead just use vigorous force, strength, and their teamwork to take down the thugs. It was a tactic he didn’t approve of, but he couldn’t care less for the boys either way. During this bout, even if the boys were to go down or one of them, he’d never stop. Everything he did was of his own accord, his own choice. He neither chose to be a hero, a villain, or whatever. He CHOSE to subdue those men, instead of killing them. He CHOSE to follow these boys, to help fight these thugs. His true intentions were yet to be revealed simply because he had no true reasoning. To some the fact maybe strange, but one doesn’t always require a prerequisite or justice to do something. Too many people of this time’s society were too stuck in their own “affinities”, leading people to not react for themselves, but instead some stupid name. To Madoka, this was the biggest problem with society now.

The boys were nearing his last bits of vision, so the masked boy leaped from his spot and began to trail the two. His sprint was toned down a bit, he noted he was a bit faster than the two and didn’t need to quite catch up with them. Not only this, but by following their previous footsteps, he didn’t have to worry about fending off against any thugs or pawns. He could focus ahead of him while staying stealthed as well.

After the trail of injured and unconscious thugs, he soon found himself nearing the clearing the two boys had just entered. Once again, he decided it best not to go off too far, instead staying back a bit. He found a nice vantage point near a thick tree right at the base of the clearings edge. He stood calmly behind the natural structure, watching the fools ahead of him.

“Hmm...so this is what they were after?” he spoke softly, staring at the somewhat large factory that had somehow been built out in the middle of the woods. This kind of place and it’s location made it obvious that the building held it’s place for nothing but vileness. He wasn’t quite sure what they could be up to, but he didn’t really care right now.

Soon, two goons popped into vision and began to speak to the other two. They definitely radiated a different presence than that of their predecessors. The two looked like maybe they’d be somewhat of a challenge.Just as he was beginning to dart forward, the darker haired boy spoke up.

"Hey you masked bastard! If you help take out one of these big guys and the boss, I'll give you a portion of the pay!"

“Hmph” Madoka spat, stopping his movement and remaining behind the tree. There was no way he’d take commands from the likes of those two. Like mentioned before, he was here on his own accord. He didn’t follow for the money or to protect these two.

Instead of responding, Madoka remained quite. It was obvious the two knew he followed or at least thought so, and by remaining silent for now and letting them start maybe they’d realize he wasn’t here for them. With flashing red eye’s, he stood firmly in place, readying to watch the first bout these two boys put against the rough and tough bosses ahead of them.

"What was that?" One of the large men asked, laughing. His large physique resembled a bear, he lumbered forwards, his glaring eyes starting straight at Rainer. The other man was more slim, resembling some sort of cat, he walked forwards elegantly. The few other men were visibly nervous, and a sign of relief showed on their faces as the two bigger men left, as if they found their own leaders scarier than the two enemies who were approaching.

Rainer took notice of the silence from behind him.The masked person had been following them for quite some time and for quite some distance, so he was likely still there watching on from the darkness. The fact that he didn't respond thus indicated that he purposefully didn't want to help them, which based off of the attitude he exhibited earlier was within Rainer's expectations. Although he was still a little irked at how he was getting shown up, he ignored it and readied for a fight. Rainer advanced towards the bear-like man slowly, while Pann reared up to fight the cat-like person. Tensions were climbing and the henchmen who were practically just spectators at this point were breaking out in cold sweats. A smile broke out on the bear person's face and he charged at Rainer, roaring. At the same time, Pann charged at the cat person, horns pointed forwards, to which the cat followed suit. The bear jumped in the air, fists poised to slam down on Rainer, who suddenly shot a smoke blast and dived forwards, rolling under the man and dodging him. In addition, Pann suddenly kicked his right foot down hard, and jumped up to his left, changing direction and attacking the bear as well, ignoring the cat, using his headbutt, this all unfurled quickly, catching both cat and bear by surprise, the latter of whom got hit by two full force smoke blasts and afterwards headbutted in the rib cage.

"Shit!" The cat had messed up, and allowed his opponent to interrupt his ally. Things weren't boding well, so he charged at Pann and yelled "Men! Attack!" It was then that he nervous group of men forced themselves to join the fight, all attacking Rainer who was nearby, stopping him from aiding Pann who was now under the full force attack of the cat-man. To make matters worse, the bear had gotten up, badly injured from the surprise attack, but still able to fight, he joined in and attacked here and there, forcing Pann to steel his resolve and take them both on, things were looking bleak as Rainer struggled to take down the dozen or so men around him, only able to hear his companion slowly fight to the last, outnumbered.

“These two sure are brave.” he whispered, enjoying his spectatorship behind the scenes. He softly tapped his fingers across the bark of the tree, red eyes pinging back and forth watching the field. His first glance was at the two “bosses” of the game, a typical duo. It was quite often teams paired up are truly opposites, just as the two are. One was heavy, slower but more powerful. The other on the other hand, retained a nice speedy approach but lacked on the power side. This type of team was common, the two each complimenting where one would lack. It was a way of having all sides, all options. Though, to to his surprise, the duo didn’t attack together. Instead, they each focused on a separate opponent, leaving them open to their weaknesses. It was now obvious that these two weren’t the brightest bosses.

Rainer and Pann had a similar style, except the boy were just decently rounded. Sure, they’d be nearly on par with their opponents weaknesses, they’d still remain at a disadvantage either way. Though, if the two used their brain a bit better than the two big goons, maybe that wouldn’t be an issue.

“It’s definitely smoke.” he confirmed, watching the dark haired boy maneuver and utilize his abilities. Madoka shivered a bit, looking down at his palms and clenching them into fists. He really hated the sight of smoke, it always made him remember the past. The horrid past of when his family was torn apart. He still didn’t know how the first started that night...but the smell of smoke hurt him. The sight of it made him wince sometimes. He never even witnessed a single blaze that night...nothing. Most of his memory then was a blur...like smoke.

He glared.

The boy’s were attacking now and performing okay for their situation. Though, this might of been false hope, a newly formed wave of fodder men soon joined the mix, hoping to crash the party. Not only this, but the slim figured thug was also giving the light haired boy a bit of trouble, and the other fighters were going to make it tough for the two to work together.

Madoka hauled softly, blinking once, then darted forward.

The masked fighter emerged for the thicket, now in direct moonlight and in the open. He dashed left and right, avoiding confronting the group of peasants the men called “gangsters”, heading on a curved path to the slim fighter. Before more damage could be produced to the light haired boy, Madoka intervened, jumping between the two. For that one brief moment, their combat paused, then resumed. The hooded male swung his arm left then right, sending quick jabs towards the quick footed fighter. The man was quick, parting away each punch with a brush of his palm, despite his small injury. The cat like man responded with his own series of lunges, Madoka placing his arms crossed ahead of him being drove back a bit. His attacks weren’t powerful, but he couldn’t keep letting him strike him like so. Eventually, he’d injure himself if his plan didn’t change.

The masked fighter leaped to the side, getting out of the way from the frenzy of punches. The slim fighter directed right back in his direction, just like he thought he would. He lunged again, hoping to strike Madoka’s face/mask. This time, instead of blocking, he ducked and lunged his knee forward, smashing his hard rounded bone into the gut of the attacker. He grunted loudly, saliva spewing from his mouth. The man jumped back a step, reaching for his stomach breathing heavily.

“I won’t be beaten here…” the sly, skinny man spoke, making a leap towards Pann. He attempted to grasp him under the shoulder into a lock, forcing his arms back while trying to hold the boy as a hostage. If it were to work, he’d speak loud and clear while his partner focused on Reign.

“Don’t move, or your partner will get it!” he spat, directing his speech towards Madoka.

"Took him long enough." Rainer had counted on the masked person to show up when it got bad, but he really did take his time and let them get a few good hits in on Pann, causing worry to bloom. Thankfully, he arrived and attacked the slim cat person, freeing Pann from the flurry of attacks caused by the two. Now that Pann was fine, Rainer was free to attack, smoke covering his arms as he used them to fight the men around him.

"Ahh!" The bear man who was injured in the initial attack was now taking on Pann alone. His already injured state made it so Pann was poised to win the fight, and could vent his frustration every time he hit the man, thinking back on how for that brief period he was being attack from all sides, unable to really retaliate. He went all out, using his head, legs and horns to block and attack, like a mad bull.

Off to the side, Pann could see the masked man taking on the cat, it was getting more and more apparent that this guy was quite strong. In fact he was getting more and more certain that this guy was someone he would not want to get on the bad side of. All of sudden as he gave the bear man one good last punch, “Don’t move, or your partner will get it!” the cat man seemed to have been pushed into a corner by the masked man, and made one last ditch attempt at attacking Pann, but Pann was paying attention to the others, as his fight wasn't too hard, and was able to react instantly, grabbing the bear and using his whole body weight to throw it at the cat. The slim cat person had jumped at such rapid speeds that he couldn't even stop himself and crashed into the bear, followed by Pann ramming his horns into him, sending him flying backwards, when he suddenly go hit in the back by a fist of smoke.

"Cheap fucks." Rainer had finished with his group, unsatisfied that he had to fight grunts while the masked guy and Pann took on the mini-bosses. He looked over at the masked man for a second, with his glowing red eyes peering out of his mask, and then looked over at Pann motioning at him to come. Him and Pann walked over to the entrance, "Ready?" Pann didn't even respond, kicking open the large door which was there. They walked in, Rainer giving the masked person one last look.

The building was one large area, the cold darkness only scarcely illuminated by rays of moonlight coming in from the windows on the roof top. Rainer and Pann looked around, walking towards the centre area. The inside of the building had machinery lining either side, with the middle being cleared and empty, except for a single chair. The chair stood out from the all the old machinery, and so did the immediate area. The chair was fancy, like the throne of a king, and standing atop the frame of the chair, was the silhouette of a man, donning a suit, top hat and a cane. Rainer prepared smoke, and Pann was on guard.

Suddenly, circus music started to play, as a spotlight turned on with a bang sound, and the man on the chair was revealed, his face painted white. Taking out 2 decks of cards, he stared at the Rainer and Pann, who stood there on edge. He opened the decks, flipping them over and spilling the cards on the floor, before they suddenly started moving, floating up and forming a ring around him. He hopped down from the chair, landing elegantly on his feet, and spoke aloud in a lofty tone "How about a game?" before sending them flying at Rainer who instantly threw up a wall of smoke.
