Old quirk info- Spoiler: click to toggle Ability: – Owners of this quirk display physical characteristics often associated with the Pleurodelinae family, comprising the newt species from which it gets it’s name. This most commonly manifests itself early on as either rough, bumpy skin, which is capable of allowing the user to ‘breathe’ through their skin by absorbing oxygen out of the water. Owners of the Newt quirk also naturally produce a non-lethal toxin which cause excruciating pain if the toxin is ingested, or otherwise finds it’s way into an opponent’s body. This toxin does not last long however, after 2 posts the pain subsides but in return starts to numb the area affected. If several wounds (3 confirmed hits with skin contact) were to be made to an area the person may find their muscles in that area exhausted and painful to move or completely numb and somewhat unresponsive, this condition causes a -2 in speed if the wounds are on the leg or a -2 in power if on the armsand neither of these can be stacked. The debuff ends after the thread is ended or the wounds are healed/washed out. Ingesting the poison causes not as much pain but could leave the poisoned person breathless for a short time. This causes a -1 in stam for the remainder of the thread but this doesn't stack. From a young age, users also develop a long tail of similar length and texture to their physical bodies; To escape attackers, the quirk user may discard it’s tail to escape dangers. The quirk user’s unique physiology allows them to re-grow the lost appendage over time, a process that can only be completed between threads. Similarly, if the user loses other limbs, they can be re-grown; This, however, takes 2 threads. Limitations: – Newt form quirk owners suffer from a few drawbacks; The first and most obvious being their skin, which both produces a strong toxin and allows them to breathe through diffusion. If the skin is suffocated or restricted by force (such as being wrapped in a tight membrane, or covered in sludge), the user suffers a -2 to stamina. The toxin produced by a user of this quirk can’t be thrown or emitted, and can only come into contact with others if the user touches someone with their bare skin or if someone licks/eats the user. In most external cases, washing the touched areas with water will suffice to remove the toxin. Performing autotomy by sacrificing their tail may grant the quirk user escape from an enemy, but the process is painful, and due to losing their excess nutrition/fat stores, the user of the quirk suffers a -2 to stamina for 2 posts. If the user goes over their limits in any way, they suffer a -2 to power for two posts. Poison only lasts 2 of the poisoned persons posts unless 3 or more wounds on that part of the body is made. Washing out the wounds takes away the debuffs after 1 post (granted there has to be some legitimate water source nearby by, there can't be a random fountain in the middle of a street brawl that wasn't described before) The wounds have to be confirmed hits not just scratches. -The changes I made included- •How the poison effects the body in more detail because before it was "Ow this really hurts, how long does it last." Which could have beern forever •newt quirk poison cannot kill by quirk alone, it just numbs your muscles at the most • Takes multiple wounds to on part of the body to numb it • Ingesting the poison cause a temporary -1 to stamina for that thread. Numbed limbs cause a -2 to speed in legs and -2 in power for arms, these can't stack and can be washed out to take away the debuff after one post. •poison can be washed out pretty easily and quirks that heal or can move liquids can easily remove the poison. I'm the only person ATM with this quirk on my character. And I approve I guess.undefined Edited by NotPatrickStar, Sep 15 2017, 07:05 AM.

This is... awfully wordy but it deserves a response all the same. The problem with this supposed rework is that it takes away the power of the poison from techniques and makes it a passive function regardless of what the user does. Most of these debuffs could simply be techniques in their own right, However, I can address some of what your concerns and comments are. The Poison from the skin can be used for debuffs or offensive techniques, as such the poison could range from causing pain that slows people down(Speed), makes them weak (Stamina or Power), or make them Dillerious or wozy (Accuracy) the poison could also just do damage in the sense that any D-Rank technique would do damage. And that if anyone took too much damage they could get seriously injured or die. I just feel like too much emphasis is put on the newt's poison as opposed to the entire piece of the quirk. So I'm going to have to deny this rework. Hope that I've answered a few of your questions though. |
