A punch. A punch was sent from her right fist into the face of the boy who for the umpteenth time had stolen her backpack. The same boy that mocked her...and her quirk activated. There was a sudden charging as his whole outfit changed into a long flower dress with a sunflower pattern and his legs were spread far wider than it was before thanks to his now much more crinkly underwear. Enough was enough! She wasn't going to be bullied around anymore. There was a freeze as she looked at the boy...and he looked down as she did before he looked at her with cold rage that was unforeseen. “You! YOU'RE DEAD!” Unfortunately, walking or doing much of anything was tough in a large diaper like the one he was wearing. She avoided the boy’s fist aimed for her face before she suddenly felt two arms sliding under her armpits and lifting her up. “Let me go! Let me go! LET ME GO!”

The dress was reverting as fast as it had come followed by the undergarments soon enough. The boy was back in his normal uniform. He was a thug, someone that picked on her daily. “You really messed up now! You stupid little shit! You thought you could fight me back?!” There was a compulsion. She had to do something and fast. The angered student stepped forward, suddenly punching outward with all his might. His fist was coated in sediment or concrete by the looks of it. Clenching her eyes shut, time seemed to shut down for a moment as she felt a blunt force strong enough to even push back her assaulter a step. However, there was no pain. She heard a popping noise as her eyes flashed open. A fist had collided with her chest, but her shirt was now thicker. It was foamy as well based off the look of it. It was foam? Nerf foam!

“Are...you kidding me? Is this what you've been working on letting your stupid little quirk do?” Ikana suddenly took this moment to kick upwards and attempted to slam her foot into the man's stomach. “Pacifist!” Her kick collided into stone in that moment as the boy looked really peeved. There was something wrong though. The world started to look bigger all of a sudden. Has she gone over the limit already?! A ponk noise was heard as she suddenly began to rapidly shrink in the other boy’s arms, slipping past until she fell on her feet barely. She was still mentally aware though. “Wha happewn?!” A cold look on the stone armed individual. “So the baby finally decided to look her age? Such a stupid quirk and an even stupider weakness. I'm still gonna teach you what happens when you mess with me!” Seething fury was released from her foe, and thus a kick was sent to her two year old body. Oh shit! Holding her hands up, she felt a kick collide...however, at last moment the shoe turned into what? A nice fuzzy slipper. She was still sent back though. A gasp as she felt her body shrink even more...and this time, she felt something else. Pain as she landed on the ground despite her much more comfy and cushioned plastic wear.

Watching those bullies, toss her ahem...bag on the ground, kick at it to the point where it and its contents were all but destroyed, and then leave. If anyone saw her, she'd leave the impression she was kicked by a solid blow. Well, as a baby it made no difference. Her subconscious ruled right now. Wearing now a short skirt, too short to hide her childish diaper with teddybear print, pink footies, and a small shirt with a orange duck on it, the white haired 18 month old opened her mouth. “U-WAAAAAH! AAAAAAGH! UWAAAAHAHA!” Now they've done it. They made her cry. Stupid bullies. Now how was she gonna get home?!

For an optimist, there was nothing that could ever ruin their day.

Being caught in a torrential storm while wearing summer clothes? No problem! Leaving a necessary return train ticket on the train as they departed? A fixable issue, for sure! No matter what came her way, a certain Felicity Bennett was rarely perturbed or set back in any form.

She had been travelling Japan under her own steam, which was a new activity for her to be doing. After only living here in the country for a month or so, she had only really learnt the various routes around Tokyo and Tatooin; other locations beyond them were a bit of a mystery to her. But, she was an experienced traveller, courtesy of the worldwide trips she had been taking with her father, so she felt that, heck, why not be adventurous today?!

Unfortunately, road block after road block had stopped her from truly enjoying her day of freedom and travel.
Felicity's Outfit

Although nicely in summertime, Japan was notorious for its shifting weather courtesy of its island location. As such, a sudden storm blew in while she was exploring her destination of choice; soaking her through to the skin in an instant, courtesy of her cute summer clothing. They were brand new as of a few days prior, which should have made them being ruined a true damper on Felicity’s spirits. But of course, there really wasn’t much that she could find to be an actual problem to stop her having fun. She merely waited out the rain in a café, where she warmed up with some rose tea, and went on her way again after leaving a tip far too large for the waitress who served her.

Taking the train back home to Tokyo should have been a simple affair, but unfortunately, she had to change at a station in Osaka before being able to go on ahead to her actual destination. And of course her scatter-brain of a head forgot that she left her train ticket on the seat beside her as she scrambled to get off the train, as not to be a hindrance to anybody. No worries, of course! She could purchase another train ticket and let her father know about her undoubtedly late arrival at home.

Because the next train to Tokyo was at least two hours from now (courtesy of some maintenance work on the tracks), she seized her opportunity to go exploring in the area she wound up stranded in. She wandered through the main neighbourhood; admiring the views and new location as she strolled around without a care in the world, even when she should be feeling at least a little glum about the unfortunate series of events that had her winding up here.

Her keen hearing was probably one of her favourite assets about her bunny genetics, and her long snowy white ears pricked up atop her head as she came to a complete halt. She heard jeering voices somewhere nearby, and this made her briefly confused as she considered it. Was somebody bullying someone else? Oh, Flic was no good when it came to bullies… she was too much of a yellow-belly and likely run away before she could help!! Those voices stopped, however, and a new one caught her attention. Every muscle in her body reacted to the sounds of loud crying coming from what sounded like…

A baby!!

She was off like a shot, bounding through the streets and following her acute hearing to the source of the noise. It didn’t take her too long, with how fast she picked up her pace to find the source of the crying. She had been correct; a toddler was sat on the sidewalk not far from where she ran up the street, bawling her little eyes out. “Oh my…!” She raised a hand to her mouth in astonishment as she bounded up to the abandoned baby.

Although only a fifteen-year-old girl, her nurturing instincts were very strong indeed. Not quite maternal, but very close; she knew that this baby was in distress, and she wanted to- no, she needed to help!

“Hey there! It’s alright, you’re okay!” She spoke soothingly as she approached the baby, crouching down when she reached the toddler’s side and smiling kindly at the obviously distraught little child. She instinctually spoke in Japanese and not her mother tongue of English, and she thanked her lucky stars that she had dedicated the time to be conversationally fluent in the language. It was unlikely that a Japanese toddler knew English, after all.

“Are you lost? Where’s your mama or papa, huh?” She asked in a coo-like tone, tilting her head to the side with her chocolate brown eyes shimmering softly.

This was something she was accustomed happening to her from time to time. She just had to hope her body wouldn't do anything dangerous while she was in this form. Still crying her eyes out, she hadn't expected someone to come so quickly. Well, more like her adult side didn't. Her infant state was always accustomed to having someone help her, the opposite of what she imagined a hero to be. She was helpless. Looking to the bunny girl with big wide eyes, the young infant sized Ikana simply did a little crawl before slowly rising up on her knees and reaching both arms out, seemingly wanting to be carried. The big yellow eyes looked at every feature as the tears ceased. “Bunna.” Bunna? Bunny. ‘Hopefully nothing bad happens. Just...take me to the police station, and I’ll be alright in a few hours I’m sure.’ However, all that came out from the infant were mumbles. However, at the coo, she giggled cutely at the rabbit human.

The question of where her parents were did come into recognition of the regressed teenager though. “Mama?” That was an excellent question! The destroyed backpack ahead of the two was ignored as the little girl looked around her left and right before looking scared. The eighteen month old had wanted mama or papa! There was a whimper as those eyes filled with a fresh new lining of tears. It looked like she was going to burst into another round of crying. “Pa-pa!” Internally there was a groan before the toddler would try to grasp the fluffy right ear of the rabbit girl to hold for comfort. The other hand had simply rested against her side as she would try to cuddle into the bundle of warmth now available to her. It seemed that the young infant had no idea where her parents were. That was generally a bad thing as that meant that she was all alone here!

Tugging the shirt of the now -older- girl with her now small and weak fist, she tugged on the ear before pointing out straight down the street. There were a number of things that could mean, but the lush greenery of another location meant something. “Pawk.” A park for which the infant to visit? Or was she trying to tell the bunny that her parents were there? She looked adorable for the most part, but yet behind those glassy eyes was the hint of something. If only the bunny girl would be able to figure it out. Uggh...how could she? How could Ikana wrestle control from her infantile mentality to restore her maturity. If not that, how could she get the bunny girl to take her home? If she was to be carried, the little Ikana pointed to herself before proudly calling out. “Ikana chwaaaan.~” She wanted to die right there at this moment.

There was no way she was going to get to school, that was for sure. Maybe in retrospect, this wasn't a good idea. Most people at her school, or at least the teachers knew about her problem. Typically if she turned into a baby, someone took her home. Either that or she was forced to go into the daycare until she turned back. It was a humiliating process. However, with this stranger here, things could end up going very wrong for her. "Bad..." With her brief bit of control, she was able to utter that one word before her eyes went ever glassy again. The world was suddenly all bright again. This sucked.

Her appearance to the little toddler ceased the crying, and the little girl looked up at her with wide eyes; clearly fascinated by something. The baby proceeded to crawl a little towards Flic, and then held up her arms towards her, indicating that she wanted to be picked up and carried. The bunny girl immediately obliged, still smiling as she gently yet firmly grasped the young child and held her on her hip. While the little girl was indeed young, she was old enough to be carried like a toddler as opposed to a very young baby; Felicity was sure of that much! While she didn’t have siblings with which she could practise this behaviour, she was often called upon to babysit for toddlers and children when she was growing up. That, teamed with her natural nurturing compulsion, made her a very good person to have found this little one.

She was called ‘Bunna’, a very cute variation of ‘Bunny’. Hearing it come from one so young, Flic couldn’t help but feel as though it was immensely endearing and sweet. It was probably easier to be known as ‘Bunna’ than trying to get the toddler to call her by her actual name, so instead she held a hand briefly to her chest while her other arm held the baby to her side. “Bunna!” She smiled, hand pressed to her chest in a common gesture of referring to oneself. So today, her name was Bunna. She guessed that it could certainly be worse!

Perhaps asking where the toddler’s parents were wasn’t such a good idea, in hindsight. The blonde began to panic slightly when the little girl started to look around with a new film of tears in her eyes, repeating the words ‘mama’ and ‘papa’ as a question. She proceeded to have her right ear grabbed gently and held onto like a comfort blanket, which made her insides melt a little. It was so adorable…! Of course, if anybody else had done that, they would have gotten a very outraged response. But this little girl was very sweet, and obviously meant no harm. She was scared, lost and confused, so if there was comfort to be found in holding Flic’s ear like a blanket, she wasn’t about to stop the little mite. “Let’s go find them! It’ll be okay; I’ll help you.” She told the toddler cheerily, her chocolate brown eyes lit up with warmth and reassurance. That, paired with her bright smile, were not only genuine, but they were meant to soothe the distressed toddler.

She briefly noticed the backpack not too far away from them, which puzzled her. Did this belong to the parents of the toddler? It looked far too big to belong to the baby, after all. Or perhaps it was here by a simple circumstance? Felicity shook her head slightly, not able to think too much about it further because the toddler in her arms started tugging gently at her ear to get her attention. She proceeded to point towards a nearby park, and to accompany it, the word ‘pawk’ was uttered by the little one too. Either the little girl wanted to go to the park, or her parents were there, and the bunny girl wasn’t sure which. Nevertheless, it was better than standing in the middle of the street with a strange baby! A walk might help soothe the distraught little girl she was holding, so she decided that the park was where they would go.

“Alright, we’re headin’ to the park!” She cheered softly, and turned to start walking there. The toddler proceeded to point at herself and say that her name was Ikana, in a very adorable manner. Flic smiled and gently ruffled the toddler’s hair as she walked, gently adjusting her in her arms in the same motion. “Okay Ikana, let’s go and find mama and papa!” She smiled and directed her attention briefly towards the park that had been pointed at, making sure that she was heading the right way. As she walked with the baby in her arms, she was suddenly alerted to a change in tone from Ikana. A single word was uttered, a very common way of somebody younger than the age of five or so to refer to bad things or people. ‘Bad’. Flic looked at the toddler with puzzlement present on her face, wondering what that meant. Were there bad people at the park? Or was this situation bad? She furrowed her brow as she considered the torn apart backpack again; it was really sticking in her mind very prominently, because it had been so odd to see next to a bawling baby.

“What’s bad, Ikana?” She asked in her cheery, ‘talking to a baby’ soft sort of voice, tilting her head to the side and regaining her smile. Perhaps there was more information the toddler could provide her with, or maybe she had just seen something that she didn’t like. Only time would tell. For now, she kept heading towards the park, all the while wondering how a baby managed to end up abandoned in the middle of the street with a backpack at their side…

As baby Ikana was carried and held to Flic’s hip, she had called her Bunna. In response, the older girl had ended up going along with it, gesturing to herself and calling herself Bunna as well. The infantile bodied and partially minded individual felt proud of herself for getting it right as she repeated, “Bunna!” Having been taken towards the park, being carried by the unknowing Flic, Ikana’s mental consciousness was aware now that she had noticed something was off about the destroyed backpack. Flic was able to hear her! She was even asked what was bad! The infant looked to the sweet rabbit girl before looking like as if she was trying to think, about what to say.

She had to do something. ‘Say something! Wrestle yourself and SAY SOMETHING!’ Ikana’s eyes for a flicker had began to switch from their blank demeanor to something brighter as she began to think, move her mouth to try and formulate an intelligible sentence. “Naw...Haw....” Those eyes fell dumb again as Ikana just looked like she had thought too hard and began to whimper a little, feeling fussy. Looking at the bunny’s warm eyes, she frowned for a moment before bursting out into a slight giggle. Promptly putting the fingers of her right hand into her mouth, she was nibbling on them with her baby teeth. As if on cue her stomach grumbled as if to signify she was hungry.

Normally at her school, students would eat a meal there if they did not eat at home. She hadn’t eaten all day either. However, they were now at Chikomatsu Park. It was a place that she came to occasionally after school to do homework while she waited for the train to take her to Tatooin. In this park this fine school morning was essentially few to no people. In this park was a vendor who was getting his various snacks in order from ricerolls, chips, and refreshments. Other than that, there were but two parents with two young children in their care. One of the parents had but a simple infant in her arms and a diaper bag next to her. The children enjoyed the playground and their company as baby Ikana released the bunny ear before pointing to her favorite part of the whooole park! The swing! “Sing?” Pointing to it with the hand not in her mouth, she began to bounce up and down excitedly in the girl’s arms as she looked around. “Ma-ma! Aaaugh!” People looked, but didn’t seem to reply...which meant that none of these people were the parents? Where could they be? It was then that Ikana realized her baby side wasn’t COMPLETELY stupid.

Ikana’s adopted mother Kanga Rew came by the park before she went to Ikana’s middle school every morning for a hop. That was an always. So...maybe she would be going through the park and would find her? Was that why her body pointed to the park? Had it realized something before her? So then...all she had to do was hopefully keep Flic in the park long enough for her mother to come on over. So...in other words, she just had to let her little side continue a little longer. She couldn’t force herself to grow easily. In fact, sometimes it detrimentally did more harm than good and made her smaller for a longer period the next time. Maybe...she just had to give in.

There was something very bizarre about this situation, aside from the fact that she was helping a stranger’s child; the bunny girl just wasn’t sure what.

She frowned briefly to herself as she kept walking towards the park up ahead, trying to think about the best way that she could help this toddler. Obviously getting her back to the parents was the primary objective, but she wasn’t sure if the park was the best place to go about it. Did the little one just want to go to the park because it was fun? Or was there a real possibility of her family being there? Flic honestly didn’t know, but at present, the park was better than standing in the middle of the street. The ripped backpack still bothered her as well, but she supposed she would get answers when she had the baby in a safer environment… like a playpark.

After asking what was bad, the baby in her arms seemed to struggle a bit with herself. She looked to be concentrating very hard about something; was it in relation to why she had been alone, without her parents? Only some nonsensical noises emerged, however, and the little one became a little bit sulky and whimpery as she had over-thought something. Felicity looked down at the little one and smiled in a reassuring manner, hoping that the toddler wasn’t about to cry for being unable to say something. She knew that the toddler sort of stage was frustrating for most kids; they somewhat knew how to speak, from listening to those around them, but couldn’t really form the words for themselves yet. She had babysat a very well-developed little boy before, and he was very smart for his age; ahead of most toddlers at the time. He consistently became frustrated when he couldn’t say something, and she found out that if she was just smiley and kind to him, he didn’t get as irritated or angry at himself.

So, that was what she employed here. The baby looked up at her and started giggling, which elicited a sigh of relief from her. Thankfully, the little one didn’t seem that angry about it, which was good. If it was something important about the park, or where her parents were, Flic had a feeling that she would soon find out when they reached the desired location. And then came a sound very familiar to her; a gurgling stomach. So not only was the toddler lost and confused, she was hungry too.

The bunny girl bit her lip. She doubted that there would be anything suitable for the baby to eat at the park, and she didn’t even really know if Ikana could eat solids in the first place (she assumed so, judging by her estimation of the toddler’s age). The park itself was very quiet at this time of day, with only a couple of parents and children here to enjoy the weather and play equipment. A vendor was also here, which made her sigh with relief. So she could get something for Ikana to eat if need be. Hopefully there was something suitably soft to eat or otherwise what the toddler would actually eat on the menu…

As Flic walked a little further, the baby in her arms caught sight of something that made her very excited. She pointed at the swings, and asked the word ‘sing’ as a question. It was obvious what she was asking, and the bunny girl smiled as she nodded her head, expression calm and warm as she wanted to make the toddler feel safe with her. “Uh-huh, we can go play on the swings!” She agreed happily, and then looked around when Ikana spoke up with the word ‘mama’. Was her mother here? With no response and only blank looks from the parents in the area, the bunny girl realised that the baby girl in her arms was still without a mother or father to pick her up.

But the baby seemed adamant that her parents would be here. Well… Felicity thought that the baby was insisting on this. Ikana could easily just be wanting to play, but there was something about the whole scenario that the blonde had a different inkling about. There was some kind of foul play at work for this to have happened; and although she wasn’t sure what, her current duty was to look after this baby and keep them safe until the parents came back into the picture. If there was no joy after a couple of hours or so, she could find her way to a police station and ask for help.

Yes, she would do that. “Would you like to play on the swings first, or have something to eat?” She asked the toddler in her arms with a happy smile before looking between the swingset, and the park vendor not too far away.

There was no realization of the curious inquiry of the bunny girl, but baby Ikana just understood that Flic or Bunna rather was very nice. The older side of Ikana on the other hand was concerned and worried about everything. Her backpack, school, was Kanga going to be coming around? This was most certainly the most annoying part of her quirk no doubt. Being stuck as an infant was something that had more downs than ups...especially when she wasn't in control of her body in the form. When Bunna had agreed on letting Ikana play on the swings, there was a high pitched cry of approval before a clap of the hands. “Yaaaay Bunna!” Little Ikana was certainly a bright ball of sunshine. However, she was posed with a question. Did she want to eat first? Or did she want to play first?

She was actually asking the little baby what she wanted to do first. That was an interesting development. Easily being able to go either way to the left or the right, the baby once again lightly grasped those fluffy ears before proceeding to make the decision of attempting to plop it into her mouth before lightly nibbling on it with her small teeth. However, afterwards she would use the ear as a pointer to guide Felicity to the vendor with a light coo as the man began to set up his various wares. Of course considering the fact that sometimes parents wanted to buy their children or small toddlers things to eat, he had considered for that. It was a colorful looking stand with chips, crackers, sodas, juice, packaged pizza, hotdogs, hamburgers, and even rice balls. Finally on the right on a shelf were small packs of milk with straws. Nothing was unreasonably priced it seemed.

The little white haired child looked a little uncomfortable as the sun was beginning to shine through, but was more fascinated by the picture of a cow with a huge snooze bubble coming from it’s nose. “Moo miwk.” She said it as more of a general statement as she took the liberty to raise both index fingers on her head. “Moo!” The man at the front looked old, his moustache finely waxed, and he seemed to be drowsy. It was then his moustache extended and rubbed his eyelids as he combed his hair for a moment before waiting. Waiting for a customer. “I suppose I could play a little music.” Turning on a small radio on the side of his vendor cart, a familiar tune began to play.

“Zombody once told me the world was gonna roll me! I ain’t the sharpest of the undead! She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb in the shape of an L on her forehead! Well, the years start comin and they don’t stop comin. Fed to the dead and they rise again runnin! Didn’t make sense not to die for fun! Your head will rot and your brain gets dumb! So much to do, so much to eat, so what’s wrong with takin the backstreet!” The music continued to roll on at a decently loud tune before he switched it to something...more sunshiney. Perfect. It was a beautiful day at the park. Birds were singing, flowers were blooming, and the girl in Felicity’s arms was trying to wiggle a little to get some leg space.

Deciding to allow the little one to play on the swings made the little ball of sunshine in her arms start getting very excited and happy indeed. Felicity smiled as she bounced Ikana in her arms a little before asking what they would be doing first. The question came after hearing a very notable stomach grumble, but even in spite of that, it seemed to be a tough decision for the little girl to reach. She grasped hold of the bunny girl’s ears as she pondered and tried to decide, looking between the swingset and the food stall. It seemed that Flic’s ears made a wonderful makeshift blanket of comfort for the baby in her arms, which was very sweet and endearing… until Ikana started to nibble on her ears thoughtfully.

She was about to protest when the toddler removed her ears from their mouth, and instead started using the floppy ears to point towards the food stall. This movement, accompanied by a coo, made the bunny girl start laughing. At least her ears hadn’t gotten too drooled upon… and well, a decision had been reached. She started walking with Ikana over towards the vendor, scanning everything that he had on offer. Thankfully, it seemed as if everything in the food cart were things that would appeal to children. From the bright colours to the familiar food, she felt much better about buying something for the toddler to eat or drink.

As the sun started to glare in Ikana’s eyes somewhat, she suddenly seemed to find something fascinating at the food stall. She was fixated on the cartons of milk with their little straws, and claimed that they were ‘moo miwk’. Felicity smiled and nodded, shifting her head a little bit to shade the toddler’s eyes somewhat as the sun started to shine through the clouds behind her. “Let’s get some milk, eh, Ikana?” She asked the toddler cheerily, and laughed as the little one proceeded to pretend to be a cow; which was depicted on the milk cartons. The stall owner was still preparing his wares and the like, and turned on the radio briefly for a bit of music. The sound of a familiar song made the blonde girl giggle gently; she had heard that song all over the place back home in the States! When the station was changed and the music matched the more relaxed atmosphere of the park, she approached with Ikana in her arms and gestured to the cartons of milk that were displayed.

“One carton of milk please, sir.” She requested very politely indeed, a smile on her face and soft shimmer in her chocolate brown eyes. As she waited for the man to retrieve the milk she asked for, she felt the toddler in her arms wriggling a little bit in an uncomfortable manner. She shifted her method of holding Ikana slightly, shifting the toddler over to her other hip to see if that was more comfortable for her. Before long, the chilled milk was presented to her, and Flic dug inside her satchel bag for her wallet. Once found, she was able to pay the stall vendor quickly, utilising very impressive multi-tasking ability.

Now that the milk was paid for, she returned everything to her satchel and focused on inputting the straw into the milk carton for Ikana. With that done, she handed the carton to the toddler in her arms with a warm smile, as she started to walk over towards the swingset. “Yummy milk! Now it’s time for the swings!” She chimed happily as she strode out towards the aforementioned section of the park.

All the while, she remained vigilant for anyone that might be Ikana’s mother or father, or any other sign of what was going on here.

Felicity was someone who would very likely be a wonderful mother in the future if she ever chose to be one. The young child whom was being carried at the time took great comfort with her. She seemed far calmer now at this moment as those young eyes looked out at the milk and at the moment, Ikana’s true mental conscience was remaining quiet for some time. Thinking. The laughter of the bunny girl had made the toddler also laugh happily just from the fact it seemed the adult here was happy. As Felicity approached the old looking vendor, his eyebrows raised as he spoke. “One carton o’ milk. That will be 55 Yen.” That was around 50 US cents in comparison, so not so much of a major difference. The old man held the chilled milk before handing it to the bunny girl. “Ya two sisters? I can sort of see the resemblance. White hair, white fur n’all.” He was American by the looks of it, what with the southern tone of voice he had.

Little Ikana when transferred to another method of being held, looked at the cow design. Everything looked weird in the eyes of a toddler, and so when the cow began to wave, she waved back at it clumsily with those dull eyes. However, Ikana internally took a deep breath. “I wish you could understand me...that I’m not a baby.” There was a sigh, and suddenly baby Ikana followed the action as she sighed a small anime cloud of either relaxation or disappointment. Yet, that lasted only a moment as when Felicity handed the adorable baby her carton with the straw inserted, she did the first thing that she’s been doing all day. She stuck the straw in her mouth and suckled on it. It was a relatively tall carton, and she sipped for around three seconds before allowing the straw to pop out. Licking her dry lips, the white haired angel clumsily rubbed her head before smiling brightly to show several baby teeth and a few that hadn’t come out as of yet. “Yum miwk!” She cried out in agreement while in the current mindset, the world was so bright and cheery. So wonderfully optimistic and ecstatic as compared to the internal dreadful Ikana.

Continuing to drink from the pouch, heading to the swings with dutiful steps from the bunny girl, the infant drank with two eyes staring across the environment like a moe anime baby who looked a little too sassy. The only sound being the slurping of a straw before she saw a figure in the distance. A woman that stood around 6’2” and had awfully marsupial like characteristics. She wore a proper dress that was black and gold as she addressed her glasses while hopping from place to place. Covered from head to toe with brown fur, having pointed ears, and a long tail behind her, there was hopping place to place at a casual pace. “MISS KANGA! MISS REW!” The little baby nearly dropped the milk and pointed out to the bright blue swings. “Sing! Siiiing!” There was a freeze in time for Ikana in that moment as she growled to her infant self. “SNAP OUT OF IT! TELL HER YOU’RE NOT A BABY!” Then, the infant clenched the mostly empty container of milk as hard as she could as a little began to dribble from the straw as her face looked red and almost like as if she was going to throw a tantrum. She began to fidget and nearly scream before she opted to yell instead.

“Nada baybee! Maaaamaa KANGA!” The largest sentence she has said all day before an ear twitched. In the distance, the woman figure turned and saw the bunny holding that white haired infant. “Cricky! Ikana? Whad’re you doin heya!” The baby upon being acknowledged began to cry out loud, an infant cry in the bunny girl’s arms before suddenly, she shrank even more within the bunny’s arms. The container of milk she held suddenly morphed in her hands, condensing, folding as Ikana shrank down to around a year old. This time, her mind was going blank as the container turned into a pacifier. A soother for infants. A shrill cry as the Kangaroo quickly hopped to Felicity’s location. Now the little girl knew, something was off. Very off. The toddler with somewhat intelligence before was gone as a little infant now was in her care, bawling with no recollection of why. All the babe knew was that she was upset! Clenching that pacifier, she tossed both fists into the air as those teeth receded. Kanga had some explaining to do.

She smiled politely at the stall vendor as she paid for the carton of milk, juggling everything with remarkable ease. It helped that little Ikana in her arms had since become calmer with mention of getting some milk; not that the toddler was really any trouble to begin with. She had been very placated as soon as Flic started helping her. The question of whether the two of them were sisters had the bunny girl giggling gently, but she shook her head. “No, I’m her… babysitter.” She answered, her slight hesitation brushed over with a wider smile as she started fiddling with the milk carton so that she could offer it to the toddler to drink. “Thank you very much!” With that, she started walking away with the purchased carton of milk, straw inserted and prepared for the little white-haired baby in her arms to enjoy.

Immediately as Flic offered Ikana the carton of milk, it was taken happily. She really must have been hungry or thirsty, or both. It made the bunny girl relieved to see that the milk was enjoyed so eagerly, and the sunny smile that followed from the toddler made her heart swell a little. It was reassuring to know that, in spite of the odd circumstances, she was doing a good job of making the little girl calm and happy. She wanted to make sure that the toddler wouldn’t be stressed out or worried, and as such, had been projecting an outward happiness and airiness the entire time she had been taking care of Ikana. Even though she felt as if something was wrong internally, she did her best to make sure that the baby wasn’t aware of it. Things would be resolved in some manner or other, either with the girl’s parents coming to the park, or with a trip to the police station after some time spent on the swings.

The bunny girl walked with a bounce in her step as they neared the swings, making a soft coo-like sound of joy for the benefit of the toddler in her arms. This prompted Ikana to point excitedly at the swings up ahead, almost dropping her carton of milk in the process. “Yeah, let’s go play on the swings!” She laughed, gently taking the potentially throw-able carton out of the little girl’s hand. Before she could, however, the toddler started to grip it tightly and start screwing her face up at the same time. Was something wrong? Well, clearly. Ikana had been very well-tempered until now, and it was bizarre to suddenly see this change. Felicity frowned and lightly jostled the toddler on her hip. Did she want to be put down to go on the swings? But they were still a ways away; she’d feel better walking the toddler all the way over there before putting her down. The sudden yell from the baby startled the poor bunny, and her chocolate brown eyes widened as she started to make sense of it. Mama… Kanga? Had the toddler seen her mother? And what had been said which sounded like ‘not a baby’? So many questions were swirling in Flic’s mind as she was suddenly approached by a kangaroo-looking woman who was also in the park. Had that lady been in the park before but she hadn’t noticed? No, she hadn’t been until very recently… surely.

When the marsupial lady started approaching, Ikana started sobbing, and every instinct within Felicity’s body started to blare all at once. A crying child was not good, not good whatsoever. She did her best to calm the baby down, and wasn’t really aware of the fact that the baby was shrinking in her arms until the kangaroo lady got closer. “H-Huh?!” Her eyes widened as she gripped at Ikana tighter, as not to drop her with the sudden difference in size. “H-Hey, Ikana, shhhhh… it’s okay…” All the while, Felicity was internally freaking out and questioning her sanity. The carton of milk from before was gone, and instead a pacifier was in its place. Thank the lord. The bunny girl gently took the pacifier from the infant’s hand, continuously making gentle shushing sounds and aiming to put the soothing item into Ikana’s mouth. It was obvious that the marsupial woman was either the mother to the baby in Felicity’s arms, or a guardian of some kind; what with how Ikana had cried out for ‘Mama Kanga’, and the fact that the woman knew Ikana’s name.

“Ma’am, is this your child?” She asked of the kangaroo lady when she was within earshot, all the while bouncing Ikana and shushing her. “I-I found her in the street outside the park and I’ve been trying to find her parents ever since!” She was obviously worried about the baby, and even more concerned about how said child had been left unattended for so long.

In this time frame, Ikana wasn’t capable of doing or thinking much. The wails she had released were causing Felicity to enter a state of alarm, but as she shrank further in the bunny’s arms, she didn’t seem to notice it as she was too focused on Kanga approaching. Yet, when she did find out, she looked bewildered as if she couldn’t understand what had just happened. That was understandable as the white haired charge reduced in size and age apparently. As the pacifier was stolen from the unhappy infant, she just continued to let out tears until it was shoved into her mouth and held there for a moment. Milk. the tip tasted like milk as the little baby was still crying, but audibly ceased her assault of the ears. Suckling once, twice, a third time, Ikana let out a last whimper before clumsily rubbing at her face face with a closed fist.

With a rhythmic suckle, she began to slowly calm down now that she had her calmer. There was no doubt about it. She was smaller and by the looks of it was certainly younger. However, her clothes had fit to match while she began to look rather tired. The marsupial woman approached, stopping just short and seemed to be assessing the situation. “Oh. She’s lil in the head this time around.” Narrowing her eyes at the small being, so fragile and innocent, the mother roo had turned her attention to the bunny with her questions. “Motha? That would be me. Though I’ve adopted her. You found her in the street? She should be at school round now! Erh, let me explain.” With the shushing and bouncing, those yellowish eyes began to droop, then fell as the Kangaroo woman held her arms out to receive her baby back. Assuming she had, she gently placed Ikana into her pouch, letting her settle in. The baby didn’t wake. She simply rested.

“I’m the teacher of a nearby middle school. This lil Sheila is Ikana. I know that she looks young, but she’s actually 14. She turned into a baby cuz of her quirk. Thank ya so much for watchin over my big, little girl! Her quirk is called pacifier, and it allows her to turn anythin she touches into well...baby or kid stuff for the most part. If she uses it too much, she shrinks down to toddler size. Then from that point, she becomes younger still. She’s usually still aware of what she’s doing, but right now I think her big girl self is all gone for now.” Her ears went flat against her head as she looked at the bunny with a slight sigh of relief. “What’s ya name miss? I owe you a biiig thanks for lookin after her!”

Felicity’s head was positively reeling as she tried to process and comprehend everything happening. The child in her arms was shrinking, and still wailing loudly. There was a strange woman who appeared to be part kangaroo and part human. All of the park’s occupants were staring. She felt her face begin to heat up with embarrassment as she realised this latter point, continuing to bounce and shush little Ikana as much as she could. After offering the baby the carton of milk, the crying subsided as she drank. The bunny girl let out a small sigh of relief as the baby stopped drinking and yawned, followed by a whimper, before continuing to drink.

With the baby in her arms notably calmer, she was able to start thinking straight again. Her confusion continued to mount as the female kangaroo approached and said something that made no sense; little in the head? What did that mean?! Apparently, the marsupial was Ikana’s adoptive mother, and apparently… the baby was supposed to be at school right now?! It felt as if her whole head was whirring and spinning with how dizzy and confused this was making her all feel. Flic started nodding enthusiastically as the kangaroo lady said that she should probably explain, making it very obvious that she would love to hear some explanations and stat to make sense of everything. She hesitantly handed Ikana over to the kangaroo woman, and then stood holding the now empty carton of milk in one hand, while the other awkwardly tugged at the hem of her skirt every so often; a habit she had when nervous or otherwise stressed.

Apparently, this lady was a teacher at a nearby middle school, and apparently the little baby that Felicity had found and taken care of was actually of middle school age; fourteen, to be precise. Confusion must have been evident in the bunny girl’s eyes, because further explanation soon followed. After thanking her for taking care of Ikana, Kanga started talking about specific attributes of the baby’s quirk. It manifested in turning things into ‘baby-proof’ items, and over-use could often turn Ikana into… well, a baby. Most of the time, Ikana knew what was happening, but if she became too young from quirk overuse, that awareness went away. So that explained why some things sounded different… the toddler from before would sometimes have moments of thought or clarity, and struggled to articulate herself; the bunny girl remembered witnessing such a thing a few times at least. Flic started to nod slowly as understanding started to sink in, still a little shell-shocked and confused all the same. It was a lot to process in such a short space of time!

The sudden question caught her off-guard, and she blinked wide-eyed before standing up a little straighter and more professionally. “O-Oh! M-My name’s Felicity, ma’am. Felicity Bennett. Flic for short.” She had an inbuilt mode of respect for those in positions of power, and teachers fit that bill. Her father had been adamant that she always showed respect for her elders and the like, so it always came out in overly formal, somewhat stiff manners. “I-It really wasn’t a problem! I used to babysit a lot for little’uns back home, so I was just happy to help her out.” She admitted honestly and with a small smile, nodding her head a little bit afterwards. It was still very bizarre indeed to think that the baby sleeping inside Kanga’s pouch was actually only a year younger than herself. She felt a little awkward, standing there bolt upright and as if she were meeting the Queen herself, and giggled sheepishly.

“I knew there was somethin’ not quite right while I was helpin’, but… I just couldn’t put it all together!” She rubbed the back of her head with her free hand, AKA the one not holding the carton of milk, and slowly started to lower it. Kanga owed her a big thanks…? What did that mean, exactly?

As the mean, lean, bunny machine was having a headache listening to the explanation, the kangaroo mother spoke to keep things as simple as possible, but of course needed to ask the babysitting rabbit what her name was of course. When introducing herself as Felicity Bennet or Flic, the X-Form woman had taken the moment to rub her stomach gently to make sure everything was alright down there. This was likely a lot for the teenage bunny to take, “Well it’s nice to meet you miss Bennet, my name is Kanga Rew. Tho call me Miss Roo if you like!” There was some things that she was keeping in mind as the snow white adorableness spoke to the brown furred marsupial. Her eyes were somewhat trained on the long eared sitter. Now, it seemed that Kanga did feel obligated to Felicity for watching over the infant Ikana even going as far as buying the deaging human a carton of milk. Plus, she seemed like a genuinely good person.

“Say...would you happen to have a bit of free time? I assume you do here and there if you babysat right?” Reaching into her pouch, into another pocket seemingly, she would pull forth a purse that was a furry brown creature with an exaggerated large tail. Zipping the tail upward, she would quickly take out 4,462.56 Yen, the equivalent about 40 dollars roughly. “Hard work deserves to be rewarded! I could use a babysitter if you’ve got some spare time. Busy workin and I don’t know if she might get into trouble on the way home and go all little. I realize she could get pretty badly hurt cuz if nobody is around!” Taking light hops to get down the street slightly, heading to the school, she waved for Felicity to follow. “I won’t call on ya too much, but cha need your folk’s permission if you’re interested. You won’t have to do too much I imagine if she’s mentally there. Jus try not to embarrass her too much.” With a light wink, the kangaroo stopped at the sight of a destroyed backpack.

“Oh...that’s hers. She bein teased again? Why I ought to give em a good one two one two!” Boxing left and right with an exaggerated kangaroo kick, she just sighed. Looked a little disappointed maybe. However, rubbing her pouch to the infant she carried, she gave a bit of a small smile. She loved Ikana, even more so when she was in infant mode. However, she needed a break too. She couldn’t take care of Ikana 24/7 although she certainly wouldn’t mind that. That’s why she would appreciate having a babysitter or two she could call on in case things got rough and the marsupial mama needed a break. A night out maybe? Assuming the bunny agreed, contact information would be given as well as an address. Then...she walked off with the baby inside of her pouch. Normally, she would drop Ikana off at a daycare in this state, but it seemed as of now that wasn’t going to happen. Not when she was about to run late for work.

The mother to the child that Felicity had been taking care of smiled and introduced herself in turn, and now the bunny girl had a name to put to a marsupial face and body. Flic nodded when her companion offered up another name to call her by, obviously more relaxed (albeit still all kinds of confused and frazzled from the day’s events) in the other woman’s presence. “It’s a pleasure to meet you too, Miss Roo.” She returned the formality a little shyly, but with both a professional and sweet genuineness.

Having been formally introduced, the whole scenario and situation was explained, and the flustered bunny girl was able to allow it all to sink in, as well as making some comments of her own. The question of whether Flic would have any free time came as a surprise, but aside from a slight widening of her eyes, it was not outwardly visible. She wondered what was going to be asked of her, but would be honest regardless; nodding her head at the question. “Yes ma’am! Um, I might be applying for U.A. Support classes, but… aside from that, I have free time quite a lot. My hobbies kinda need me to be up and about, so.” She admitted, seemingly shy about the fact that she was in the process of applying to U.A. Academy. It was such a new thing for her brain to wrap around, and she was still a little uncertain of whether it was the right thing to do or not. Nevertheless, she found herself with free time quite frequently. She really wasn’t sure what the question had been leading to, but she absolutely didn’t expect there to be a sudden introduction of money.

The humble girl blinked owlishly as she watched Miss Roo take out money and begin to hand it to her. Flic’s immediate reaction was to hold up her hands, trying to open her mouth to say that she didn’t need to be paid for helping out; goodness no! But the money was pressed towards her regardless, and the marsupial woman got to talking again, not really allowing her the time to protest. She took the Yen, amazed at the amount for just helping out somebody in need, and folded it away into her own wallet after retrieving it from her satchel bag. The request as to whether she would like to be a babysitter for Ikana was something that made Felicity’s ears perk upwards, and her chocolate eyes started to shine. As much as she had been worried and concerned during the time she had been babysitting the little one, she had enjoyed it all the same. She followed after Miss Roo when waved to follow, and kept step with the older woman’s hopping rather easily. Her long legs were rather useful indeed in this way.

“I-I’d love to help both you and Ikana out, Miss Roo!” She claimed happily, nodding a few times firmly and making her ears bounce around in every which direction. With a soft giggle, she straightened her ears again and smiled, a small rosy blush visible through her snowy fur. “I can ask papa right now and let you know! But I’m sure he’ll say yes.” She quickly set about pulling out her smartphone, and quickly tapped out a message to her father. Her texting was very informal in manner, even when addressing texts to her father, and it didn’t take her long to hash out a message asking for permission to be Ikana’s babysitter, as well as adding a little summary of what had happened to lead up to it. While waiting for a response from her father, they came upon the destroyed backpack from earlier, and Miss Roo confirmed that it was Ikana’s. Bullies? Felicity frowned, her ears drooping a little bit as her expression grew a little more pensive/ irate. Gosh, she really didn’t like bullies. After spending a good portion of her life being targeted by bullies and mean comments about her X-Form quirk, she really wasn’t happy whenever such a thing happened to somebody else. She knew how hurtful it could be.

“If I’m to be Ikana’s babysitter, ma’am, I can help her out a bit with those meanies too!” She offered, and giggled gently at the marsupial mother’s show of boxing and the like. Immediately after she said this, her phone buzzed with a light chime, and she was happy to see her father’s confirmation on the screen. She happily showed Miss Roo the text, and then went about exchanging contact details and the like with her. Before long, they were parting ways, and a sort of excitement and pride pounded in Flic’s chest.

It was amazing what showing kindness could do, and what it could lead to.

Earnings:

  • Ikana Miyamoto - 17 EXP, 1400 cash
  • Felicity Bennett - 18 EXP, 1600 cash

    Comments:
Honestly, this is one of those very fun quirky threads, that come up from a silly idea. Some of the things made me outright laugh, like the baby Ikana just shouting "MOOO", and the rewording of all-star. Though admittedly, there were also a couple of bit awkward moments. I guess the kangaroo mom could have told about the quirk maybe a bit more naturally? It almost felt like a "final exposition dump", and taking that the character was othervise very fun and silly, it just felt clunky.

However, I really liked Felicity being so awkward about all the things happening with Ikana. Even though its a quirky world, where things like this might be normal, not everybody has seen everything, and I like the fact that people can still be genuinely confused about weird things.
