Orville hated the cold. It reminded him of home. That empty pile of bricks that hadn't witnessed a happy moment in nearly a decade. However, after another long day of training and studying he thought that getting some fresh air and a quick bite might be the best to ease his mind. He was somewhat taken back when he stumbled upon what seemed like a fair or something, except without the Dodgers or beer tents he was accustomed to.

Orvilles Attire

Orville began to get lost in his own little world , just wandering around looking at the stalls and ice sculptures. Although somewhat tacky in appearance he understood that somebody had taken a lot of time to produce such....art. His stomach soon began to howl however as the sweet aromas of whatever was cooking from the multiple stalls teased his senses. As he smelt again however, he couldn't help but get a whiff of the devils lettuce , and quickly looked around only to find everyone else going about their day.

" Must've been my imagination .." he murmured to himself. He set off again turning the corner only to come into full view of possible the strangest encounter you could imagine. A blushing rabbit girl , angered duck and some emo looking character who were all glaring at what Orville presumed to be a pervert as he was red as rocket with his phone shaking in his hand. He smiled and slid past the odd trio , to access the stall behind them , and ordered some Yakisoba. Once his order was complete he quickly glanced behind , as things seemed to getting interesting.[anchor][/anchor]

The blonde bunny girl was immensely confused as, the next thing she knew, her feathered friend was bowing lowly to her and exclaiming an apology. She only assumed that it could be about calling her a bunny, and her cheeks flushed a very healthy red hue as she watched such a show of genuine apologetic behaviour. It ended up making her giggle and smile, even though her embarrassment and sheepishness remained present on her face all the same. “It’s honestly okay, don’t worry! You didn’t say it with unkindness. It was… quite nice.” She admitted with a shy smile in the direction of the snow white duck, brushing a few of her cropped blonde strands away from covering her eyes. She was such a strange mixture; of shyness and of outgoing behaviour. It came and went in waves, ebbs and flows.

Next came the bizarre dark-haired youth who had been staying close to them with curiosity. Luckily, her Japanese companion translated what was being said, and said that the stranger was asking to have their wine bottle opened. What followed was something which had Flic nodding her head firmly in agreement; this teenager looked to be around their age (at least hers, she guessed), and was drinking alcohol out in public! That certainly didn’t seem right. It was quite an interesting exchange to watch, and the blonde made a mental note to herself that she had to go and learn more Japanese before coming out to be sociable again. Goodness gracious, she felt as if she was missing out on so much!

After she introduced herself, her duck companion jovially told her that he loved her name, and proceeded to call her ‘berry girl’. Was that a Japanese sort of saying, perhaps? Nevertheless, she rather liked it, and the praise she received for her name. “T-Thank you! I quite like it too.” She spoke shyly, shuffling her feet in the snow a little bit with her head slightly lowered. She couldn’t half be bashful sometimes. He then went on to introduce himself, making sure to do so in the right order. So he was called Shirou! What a lovely name! Before she could compliment him on it, and make mention of the interesting way round that the Japanese wrote/ spoke their names, he asked to be called by his surname. It was a custom here in Japan.

The enthusiastic bunny girl immediately grasped both of her hands into fists, held in front of her with her head nodding firmly. “But of course! That’s so fascinating, and it sounds so formal! I’ll gladly call you Ahiru!” She loved learning about new cultures; she found them so interesting and diverse, and with good reason. “When we become friends though, I can call you by your given name? I’d like that very much!” She chimed happily, chocolate brown eyes sparkling as she considered this possibility of gaining such a nice new friend!

Next came a less savoury aspect, as a stranger seemed intent with staring at their little group even further. They seemed obsessed with calling Shirou after a cartoon, and the poor duck was getting flustered. He started to threaten the boy, saying that it was disrespectful and rude. Felicity stood next to her duck friend and nodded firmly, arms folded across her chest now as she acted as a means to stand with him and show her support. She wasn’t really ready for what happened next, and Shirou proceeded to get really angry when the stranger took a picture! He leapt for them, wings flapping and a massively loud quack emitting from him. The bunny instinctively put her hands to her large ears, pressing them down to cover them from the worst of the sound.

He proceeded to say that the insane quack was a warning, and that he wouldn’t allow his new friends or himself to be bullied like that. Flic’s eyes lit up with warmth, and she was suddenly filled with an urge to cry at how lovely and nice her new friend was. He was standing up for her! “Nobody’s defended me like that before, Ahiru!” She gasped, stars literally glittering in her eyes as she held back tears of joy. “And I’ll defend you too!! M-Meanies had better not bully you like that again, or… well, or else!” She started off so strong in her assertion, and trailed off slightly as she realised that she wasn’t really one to know how to react in these situations. She was naturally very passive, but she was so empowered by her feathered friend that she had to show just how much she appreciated his fiery attitude.

One of her other potential friends disappeared, however, as the red-headed bunny suddenly… well, vanished! She looked rapidly in his direction but only saw a hole where he had once been, and she was flabbergasted. W-We can burrow that fast?! She was utterly amazed to tell the truth, and it showed in her astonished facial expression.

The bizarre dark-haired youth who had been staring seemed just as amazed about Shirou’s show of defiance, and strode over to the group who had taken the picture. She understood a good amount of the words he spoke, and clasped her hands together at her chest with sheer glee. They were getting back at the bullies, and it was so nice that somebody else was being so nice as to help them! The youth who took the photo started to appear very apologetic, and frantically talked to Shirou in Japanese. Flic couldn’t follow the pace of it, but got a general gist of what was being said at the very least. It was amazing what one could learn in a real situation where a language was being spoken, she realised.

While this was going on, she noticed somebody move past them to one of the food stalls to get some food. Her bright chocolate gaze followed the youth’s movements, drawn by his snowy white hair and casual demeanour. He just… walked past like nothing was happening. How bizarre. At that moment, she remembered her own hunger, and seeing the noodles prepared for the snowy-haired boy made her even hungrier.

“H-How about we… make up over some nice food?” She suggested in the next break of conversation, eyes gleaming as she didn’t remove them from the possible outcome of receiving food.

As the warm noodles met Orvilles lips he began to relax a little more. His day had been quite rigorous from his training routine he was following in the run up to the UA Entrance Exams. This consisted of a 4 mile run every day, combined with numerous exercises to better his endurance. After all that it was no surprise that he was extremely parched He had always been more interested in foreign foods and this definitely beat the Insta Noodles he had back home. It was then that Orville caught the stare of the rabbit girl beside him noticing her nose twitching like crazy and her eyes fixated on his meal. He also noticed however how pretty she was, and almost began to study her like a picture in the Musee d'Orsay. He turned to face her.

" Its as good as it looks" He said, with a somewhat friendly expression across his face. He than broke into a little smile " Would you like a bowl"

... Ano?

In the eyes of a young boy such as himself, the little duck could only describe Flic as someone he could see himself growing to admire in a friendly manner. Her sweetness rubbed off on him in a way he couldn't quite place his feather on, but he offered her as much of a smile as he could muster given the restraint of having a bill rather than a pair of lips. Overjoyed that she not only accepted his grand apology, but she complimented him in a way that made his bill snap open in a comical, stuttering quack.

"S-Shucks," gushed a soft chuckle, but he batted his eyes at her regardless of his embarrassment sending her a charming grin. For a brief moment he watched her shift her hair mildly amused how it fit her rabbit like appearance, yet retained a certain beauty that was only special to her. He quickly realized that he held a sort of fondness for her as she continued to blush and chatter like a stuttering doll, but not in a romantic way! Falling head over heels for another being wasn't on Shirou's tiny to-do list, nor was it part of his life long goals, but friendship was high among both lists.

He nodded his head several times like a car bobble when she complied to calling him Ahiru, but her question of friendship took him by surprise, and he nearly cried. Again. Even so, he kept himself together and stood up as tall as he could shifting from a plump grounded duck to a slim looking white noodle. Both wings raised up, and Shirou quacked out a chipper squeal pinching his eyes shut in pure excitement, "Good gosh aren't you just the sweetest!? Yes! Absolutely! I'm sure we'll be awesome friends, Flic! And when that time comes I'd love for you to call me Shirou! That'd be really awesome, honestly." Though his tone had grown softer toward the end of his exclamation, the little duck remained relaxed and at peace in Flic's presence.

Or, so he'd hoped to have stayed that way!

The entire ordeal with Sojito, Jin, Flic, and himself had escalated in a matter of moments. His quack rustled the jimmies of all those around him, and several bystanders gave him the stinkiest eyes he'd seen yet. A select few called him out, but he ignored their irritation instead focusing his moody behavior onto a boy that had yet to explain himself. Awfully agile, Shirou honked his words and displayed his displeasure like any true duck would, as ducks were naturally ill tempered creatures.

He was no exception, sadly!

Watching Jin out of the corner of his eye made Shirou take a brief breathe to pause. The phone... It had the photo, so that meant that Sojito could put that on some form of social media. Shirou himself adored social media as it were. Twitter, Instagram, but even Snapchat, but his old phone had to be replaced due to... watery circumstances. Sighing, the wings that were lifted out of pure instinctual defense began to lower themselves back to his sides, but the feathers atop his head and around his burly fur hat remained completely ridged. Watching both Jin and Flic speak their two cents left Shirou to collect his thoughts, take a deep breathe, and try again.

All that puffy fury that tickled at his rump and fluffed at his cheeks all but washed away like stars at dawn. One by one each of the pin prick like feathers on his head began to settle back into their rightful places. His mood shifted once more, and he took a few shaky steps forward gently brushing the tip of his wing against Flic's calf as a pseudo-pat in an effort to ease her sparkly tears, "Y-You're right, Flic. Bullies can be meanies, but I kind of went out of line, too! Picture taking isn't the nicest, ya' know? I'd give the world to protect anyone and everyone, you included!"

Giving Sojito the benefit of the doubt ended up playing in his favor, and Shirou practically lit up like a freshly decorated home on Christmas Eve when he heard the other boy profusely apologize for his misdeed. Jin, however, looked to have a different approach despite the others apology, so Shirou quickly waddled his plump rump toward the other boy and stopped in front of him. Both wings raised up and fanned out as if to motion him to stop, and Shirou tilted his head to the side offering him a goofy smile.

"Okay! Okay, okay, okay... Thank you! Really, it's okay! For everyone! I think we all need to take a gosh darn break, ya' know? This here festival... is for everyone to enjoy! That means you, you, and you," he gushed pointing a feather one by one at each of his newfound friends. It was at that moment he realized the fourth member of their scandalous run in was MIA. Blinking several times he glanced around in search of Hono, but drew a short stick after spotting the strange burrowed hole...

...He didn't know rabbits could do that?!

His gaping came to an abrupt close, and he glanced at Flic at her suggestion of food. Her diversion was a gift from the gods, and he nodded frantically while dancing in a circle waving each wing at the three of his companions. In a flush of quacks, Shirou began to sing in a cheery, boyish laugh, "Food! Food! Let's forget this darn mess and get some grub!"

However, what should they eat? Gulping down a bit of hesitation he stepped forward a few feet glancing around his little group in search of something to occupy their fiasco. A voice, one that he didn't recognize, had called out to Flic in that moment, and he shot his head around like a tiny white bullet blinking beady green eyes at the stranger in a tented food stand. Gasping, he hobbled awkwardly up to Flic and grabbed hold of her hand wiggling it back and forth in his feathery palms. "There! Yakisoba! You two, too! Let's forget about this and grab a bite, yup yup? Also, uhm... I dunno your name, but don't worry about it, alright? Next time just ask me! I love taking selfies with people! Gettin' social is what it's all 'bout, ain't it?"

With that said, Shirou bowed his head at Sojito before springing a surprise smile in his direction. They had a shaky first impression on each other, but in the end he was glad to have another person join their festival fun.

Now, who is that mysterious person who called out his newfound friend, Flic?

Food? Food?!

It's true, the way to a man's heart is indeed with food. While not necessarily an excessive gluton, Sojito could easily be described as a foodie. He could never bring himself to turn down free food... Well...aside from that one time where they put actual worms in his noodles.... but that was about five years ago.... Wait, the duck never mentioned anything about paying for it. Still, food was food.

"I mean, I can't really turn down an offer to eat, haha!" They boy moved his phone to his pocket to store it, any misunderstanding could be solved over a good bit of food! Or at least that's what his uncle always said.

"What about you, Osaki? You want some food too, right?" There was a bit of inflection in the tone of his voice, almost as if the kid knew that the other one normally wouldn't be so quick to respond to the well-wishes of the duck that just nearly blew up his ear.

"Yeah...sure....Yakisoba, right?" Osaki never even returned his friend's gaze, in fact he was pointing an intimidating glare at the duck while images of basted duck ran through his mind, he would probably go out and buy some duck later just so he could cook it up... yeah that would be a nice way to get revenge... would that technically cannibalism, or was this guy actually a duck? Within a few seconds Osaki rubbed his eyes and returned to a much cheerful visage. Sojito let out a sigh of relief. Looked like Osaki wouldn't get himself in trouble again today at least.

Jin looked down towards Shirou as he stood infront of him and stopped him in place. Surely, he’d had it the worse throughout his life. Jin himself had been drawn to the duck merely by his appearance, as well as that of his other two—one animal-esque companion. Besides, who was this other boy for him to even worry about. The duck’s intervention made him realize if any word would reach his parents, it would be the fact that he got into a fight. Besides, they were the ones who were supposed to pick him up. There was no reason for something as dumb as that image to go viral. He nodded towards Shirou and turned towards the group, stepping back to open up their social circle.

“Well, there goes my corkscrew…” He commented as he finally let the other matter and realized the other bunny was actually not coming back. He examined Flic’s hands, but put the matter to rest. He picked the bottle back up and held it at his side. As long as he didn’t open it, he could claim he was holding it for someone and would likely get away with it. Besides, at this point, he was probably going to have to sell or trade it for something as he remembered his wallet was gone.

His stomach tightened and rumbled in response as he was in fact hungry. The noise perhaps audible to the girl with the big ears. Despite being ashamed of admitting, he spoke out on the matter towards the group as talks of food began. “Well, I’ve left my wallet behind. But I ain’t in the begging business, so I’ll pass on the food. I’ll stick around though, to see if this jackass tries something again.” He added, pointing towards Sojito but notably in a joking manner. He finished his sentence with a smile, to make sure the message got across.

It was immensely exciting for the bunny girl to be with somebody who was just as enthusiastic about making friends as she was, and her chocolate coloured eyes continued to gleam and shimmer while she looked down at the little snowy duck. He exclaimed that he would be happy to make friends with her, and he couldn’t wait for them to get closer so that she could indeed call him Shirou. “Ehehehe.~ I can’t wait!!” She couldn’t help that little sheepish giggle permeating her speech like that, because she was just that excited about it all!

Things took a turn, however, because of the whole photo-taking incident and all. Her new feathered friend admitted that he had stepped over the line a little bit, but bullies weren’t nice at all! Following Flic’s assertion that she would stand up for him like he had done for her, he proclaimed that he would give everything to protect anybody in the world. That was so admirable! The poor bunny girl was so moved and excited by the words of her new friend that she was trying so hard not to cry with overwhelming emotion, hands held up close to her chest with her bottom lip trembling slightly. But her smile would show that she was actually happy, even if she was trying her hardest not to cry at present. It was amazing to meet such an inspiring person at this festival! The blonde bunny girl always wanted to help people, but she was so cowardly and shy in most situations that weren’t social and safe. But Shirou… he was so very brave! It made her want to try and be brave too!! So she took a deep breath and swallowed her tears, instead smiling breathlessly with her ears bobbing up and down atop her head.

Conversation shifted to everybody getting some food for the whole situation to calm down, and that made the bunny girl immeasurably happy to hear. She was one of the first to spring into action… literally! She hopped and skipped in a flash over to the Yakisoba stand, looking in awe at the cooking process and the divine smells that wafted up to meet her sensitive, acute nose.

Being so absorbed in admiring the noodles, she failed to notice that she had jumped right next to that white-haired youth from before. But he certainly noticed her. He spoke up and said that the noodles were as good as they looked, and proceeded to ask if she would like some. Flic immediately turned and looked at the stranger, a delighted flush taking over her snowy white cheeks as she considered such a kind offer. He didn’t know her and he was offering her food?! Oh, how sweet he was! She looked at him with wide chocolate eyes, with a hand raised to her brightly smiling mouth as sparkles all but seemed to escape her.

“That would be wonderful!” She breathed excitedly, and turned to look at the vendor. “O-One vegetable yakisoba, please!” She ordered in somewhat crude Japanese, but he understood and got to work on her order. In amongst her happiness and joy, she heard the sounds of somebody’s pained, hungry stomach and she started frowning. Her ears swivelled and soon locked onto the dark-haired youth holding the bottle, who said he would pass on food due to forgetting his wallet.
The wallet in the top left <3

Oh, not on her watch!! He was hungry, and she wouldn’t let him go without food! She dug into her coat pocket and pulled out her small novelty wallet; a white kitty with patches on its adorable little face. She popped it open and pulled out a small wad of notes, enough to pay for her own bowl of yakisoba and at least another two or three. “Here, you can have a bowl on me.” She offered the dark-haired youth kindly, holding out a hand towards him with a wad of notes pressed within it.

She really wanted to make friends here, and this guy had stood up for Shirou. So he was in her good books!

When those bunnys cheeks went red , Orville felt like his face was on fire. He didn't mean to boast when he said that some girls literally threw themselves on him. But that was only because they knew who he was. And how rich his family name was. He didn't have a furry fetish , yet he felt strangely attracted to her.

Anyone you love , is another weakness you must bear

His words echoed in his head. He quickly turned his head and met the gaze of the dark haired boy with a bottle of wine in his hand. Orivlles eyes were then drawn to the bottle itself as he could see the label. Although not the most expensive , it was still a good bottle. Yet the boy seemed somewhat unable to open the bottle. Wine was one of his favourite subjects his father had taught him about in their "culture training". His father saw that to become a good hero, you had to have the right morals , which were imbedded into someone during their early childhood. Orville almost missed the days be blindly followed all his fathers requests and orders, he seemed so proud.

A 2006 Tsuno Chardannay eh ? he would say in perfect Japanese to the boy, taking out his Swiss Army knife , holding out his open hand , indicating he would open it for him Its a shame we aren't having Soy roast duck with hoisin gravy, best thing to go with a green grape like this.

Within a short time frame Shirou found himself being toted forward toward the place he'd suggested they all gorged themselves to. The tension had been defused in a smooth manner that had him letting out a soft breath relieved of the forewarned disaster. Legs wobbled as he hobbled like a bobble head swaying side to side in his walk toward the stand, and he found himself watering at the bill at the aromas of meats, noodles, and veggies!

Ever the stickler for feeding himself properly, Shirou had thought over his order carefully considering his picky diet. He was no vegetarian, but his stomach wasn't exactly large, either. As everyone began to take their seats inside the tented eatery the little duck found himself in a bit of a pickle... He was incredibly short compared to everyone else, and the seat limit was a bit waning.

He instead bounced to the right of Felicity flopping up onto a stool where his legs barely hung off the edge of his seat. His bum took up a majority of his stool, and he wiggled his flippers out from under his body using the ends of his wings to grip at the table for stability. Once he was properly settled, Shirou beamed at the group surrounding him quacking out a jovial little tune.

"Yay! Look'it all'a use! Enjoyin' ourselves on this fine holiday... Golly, what a surprise. These here language barriers are a bit taxin', but it's a small world out there, ain't it?" Giggles spurred as he turned to acknowledge the white haired boy that had offered Felicity a meal. How sweet of him! Being as innocent as a newborn made him inclined to believe that this boys intentions were solely for friendship and pure charity. A good soul, he concluded.

Stars danced in his eyes at the bottle being talked over, and Shirou's attention quickly became glued to what Orville talking about. Old wine...? However, as quickly as he'd become engrossed in his words the poor duck found himself paling beneath his feathers as white as the ground outside the flapping tent. The tips of his hand like wings gripped at the tables edge as hard as iron, and his shaking head wobbled as it turned toward the chef that gave him an odd stare. His ghastly gulp sounded haunting much like his wavering voice, "U-Uhm... I'll have w-whatever Miss Falicity is h-having."

... The last thing on this earth that he wanted was to be mistaken for a freshly plumped duck ready for roasting. Even the talk of a freshly lemon squeezed duck on a silver platter made his skin crawl!

The cold too had been starting to get to Jin. He pulled up his hoodie up to about half his head, to provide some coverage for his neck and ears but not cover his face. He had learned to just mind some other matter or rest in his usual disinterested appearance whenever they’d speak in their native English language. However, Flic’s attempt at Japanese had caught his attention. He chuckled and imitated her accent. “O—one vegetable yakisoba, please.” He looked towards her with his eyes turned into a crescent moon shape and his mouth following in suit, clearly depicting no ill intent.

Jin took a step back as Flic had retrieved her money from her wallet and offered it in Jin’s direction. He figured she reacted just after his stomach rumbled, and he suspected her motive, but he opted to feign ignorance as to not address the matter. Feigning a confused expression, he looked towards Shirou and nodded in his direction. “Oi, What’s this about?” He asked, expecting the duck to translate for him as he pointed towards the bunny with his chin.

Whilst the situation was underway, the white-haired fellow had offered to open the bottle—or so Jin had assumed from his actions."I have no clue what goes with what, just got it from my parent's car. Thought I could have something to drink. But the night's turning out alright." Orville had certain picked a proper way to get on Jin’s good side. But then immediately somehow found a way to undo the progress with his remark. Jin could tell Orville was not as cheery or apologetic as the others that had found their way to their new formed group. For such, he could not tell whether he’d mentioned the roasted duck on purpose or not, but what he did know was that it was twice now that Shirou had had some reason to be upset about something. Despite the duck’s sonic quack and ability to stand up for himself being evident, Jin just felt a sense of duty towards the cheerful duck. Who could possibly want to be out to get the guy.

Jin’s interactions with people had recently ended up turning into conflict. Something he was not particularly interested in tonight, especially as they had just diffused a near-situation minutes ago. Jin purposely missed Orville’s hand and pushed the bottle against his chest rudely, but still offering it to him. He’d lean in closer and try to keep his voice between the two of them. “Cut it out with the duck jokes.” He'd speak with a serious tone and his eyes would be fixated to meet with Orvilles.

At least.... No, that line of thought would make the day seem worse than it actually was. In fact, this had probably been one of the best days of the year, not that the new year was long past. He spent more time at his uncle's rather than hanging out with friends for whatever reason, a reason that Sojito was simply too afraid to admit to himself. He had forgotten just how fun it was to get some cheap street food with Osaki and the rest of the Rugby team. He was never on it himself, but having friends in high places lent itself to certain benefits.

Sitting down at the counter top, the youths would join their new acquaintances. Sojito sitting himself between Shirou and his friend, Osaki. Unfortunately it seemed that there would not be enough money to go around to pay for he and his friend. That was fine, the two youths had brought a decent amount of money with them already.

Sojito did indeed feel as if he should follow the crowd and get vegetable Yakisoba, no, he would get his favorite yakisoba: "I'll have a bowl of duuuuu---....." oh no! "Chi-ch-ch-chicken yakisoba!"

There was no way that they noticed! Yatta!. Satisfied the boy put on a smile, that was until he heard his friend began to order.

"I'll have the duck yakisoba." Sojito's friend just sat with a smile on his face and a wad of smaller bills which he handed to the chef. Sojito himself kept a worried look plastered on his face, his eyes shifting quickly between his friend and the duck.

The innocent bunny girl wasn’t flustered or embarrassed beyond a handsome young man offering her some food. Goodness gracious, she didn’t know the boy! So when she saw the snowy-haired youth blush a little too, she was confused. He had been the one to invite her over, no? So why was he embarrassed now? She decided not to dwell upon very much, and instead went about ordering some vegetable yakisoba. Her chocolate brown eyes shimmered while she watched the dish being prepared; finding the whole process to be fascinating. And boy oh boy, did the food smell delicious!

She jumped a little when she was alerted to somebody plopping down beside her, and then turned to see Shirou had perched himself up on a stool to better reach the stall and also… well, just to grab a seat. Flic smiled at him warmly when he talked about how exciting this was; getting some good food during a wonderful festival. “It’s amazing now that I think about it, yeah! I’m just glad that I can celebrate the Winter Festival with everybody.” She claimed excitedly, and then became a little sheepish towards the end of her excitable statement. The whole atmosphere was amazing, and she felt permeated by warmth in spite of the cold weather. Surely it was the company she kept, and the promise of food which was keeping her warm at present.

After she ordered her food a little shyly for the stall vendor to hear, one of their companions echoed her words which had her pliable ears twitching and turning immediately in Jin’s direction. She wheeled around and pouted a little bit, holding her hands up to her chest with a huff rising in her chest. “I-It’s pretty nerve-wracking ordering in English when I don’t know if I’ll be understood!” She defended herself, this time opting to use her (very limited) Japanese to address him and those around her. “I can speak Japanese, just… not very well.” She admitted in the self-same language with a flush covering her snowy cheeks once more. Upon closer inspection, she saw that the dark-haired youth with his wine bottle was smiling at her warmly, and this made it clear that he had been jesting with her. This made her sigh with relief and some of the tension within her body lessened as she tilted her head to the side with a small smile of her own.

That was when she offered him the money to buy himself some yakisoba, and he seemed confused by what she was doing. This had her blinking owlishly while she held the money out towards him, realising she had spoken her request in English. Gosh darn it! “You can get some food with this.” She stumbled a little over her phrasing in Japanese, but finally managed to get it out in the open, once more insisting on her new companion taking some of the money.

And then, it seemed that the duck jokes continued. Something about wine being good with duck, and then somebody else ordering duck yakisoba caught Flic’s keen ears, and she started frowning. Luckily Jin spoke up, and she assumed from what she heard that he was asking them to stop. She reached out to receive her order of yakisoba, lips parting with her tongue showing in concentration to function her chopsticks. “N-Now then. I don’t think we’ve all been properly acquainted.” She brought up, her Japanese once more filled with a good amount of hesitation. But it was a little better when she wasn’t despairing over her lack of ability with the new language.

“My name is Felicity Bennet, but you can all call be Flic-… if you like, that is.” She introduced herself in Japanese for the benefit of the dark-haired youth, the snowy-haired male from before, and the ‘Donald Duck’ people towards the back of their little congregation. A group of friends at a festival… how wonderful!

The moment Orville had said what best to go with the wine he cringed a little inside. How could he have been so careless with his words? He quickly spun round to meet the little duck

I do beg my pardon, in no way was I attempting a jab at you, it would go much better with an avocado and tuna tapas anyways he said in his best Japanese, with a very apologetic smile on his face. With all these X-Form quirks about you sure had to be careful about what you said. Orville then turned his attention back to the bottle and brought out his corkscrew. His butler had taught him that a good wine could go bad if opened in the wrong manner. The user had to be gentle yet firm and try to get the cork out as quickly as possible, to minimize the amount of purity that would escape from the bottle. Once opened Orville would hand the bottle back to the black haired boy with a wink.

He was not surprised by the bunny girls outburst of an introduction. She seemed like the type of person who made an effort to become friends with everyone. A respectable trait to many but Orville had been trained to see attachment of any kind as a weakness. No the less he was also taught to never be rude. He would stand and give a courteous bow towards everyone whilst saying in Japanese I am Orville Von Westborne, the third to be exact , a pleasure to make all of your acquaintances

The Never Sleeping Vampire Duck
...Ahhhh so many friendly faces!

Shirou wasn't one for being a ditz, and he noticed out the corner of his eye that the familiar face of Jin had stepped forward to counter Orville's lack of awareness. A swell of warmth wrapped around his chest at the protective gesture brought on by Jin, but Shirou kept to himself showing a brief flash of timidness by tilting his bill downward offering a soft 'thank you' under his breath. It wasn't everyday that one met so many fun people, and as much as he'd love to stick around and have a party...

Time was of the essence!

Attention was soon called off of himself making him breathe out a heavy sigh of relief. This was the perfect time to depart, for he had quite the list of 'things' to be done back at his home all the way back in Tatooin, and the flight there was sure to be a chilly one had he waited any longer into the night! Clearing his throat, Shirou called up the chef as soon as he wasn't occupied by the various chatter boxes at his left and right, and he gently rocked on his rounded, fluffy bottom as he coughed out, "I'm sorry... Cancel my- my uhm... order! Really should'a taken the time to look at that clock over yonder, ya' know? I ain't so slick to try 'n stay out past my own curfew."

Easing up, Shirou stood on his stool flattening his webbed toes to the cushion while glancing at either side of his body. Sojito, Sojito's disagreeable friend, Jin, Felicity, Hono the weed boy he wished he'd seen more of, and now Orville! Despite the odds that came with meeting each and every one of these new people the little duck found himself proud of his new group of friends. A sheepish sigh tickled his bill before he turned to face Sojito and his 'friend' first. "No hard feelin's, ya' got me? I'll be seein' you two 'round I guess! Nice meetin' the both'a you, but let's cool it with the duck jokes! Ya' never know if a duck is a real one 're some magical one."

He shook his head at the boy to Sojito's side ordering duck yakisoba. He couldn't judge him for liking it, but it made him a bit uncomfortable knowing that there was someone eating a species that looked exactly like himself. Creepy! Shirou stood on the edge of his stool clamping his webbed toes along the chilly steel, and he tapped his bill as light as he could to Felicity's shoulder. It was a ditch attempt at grabbing her attention, but he hoped that it would have been enough for him to say what he needed.

"Felicity! Gosh... I dunno what else to say 'side from thank you for bein' so sweet 'n kind. Here, I'll give ya' my number! Jus' in case if you ever come 'round Tatooin you gotta give me a call!" True to his word he reached out and grabbed hold of a napkin as well as a pen that was sitting atop of the chef's counter space. He bowed his head a few times quacking out of respect for 'borrowing' the mans items, and the Chef merely rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue, "No stealin', little man."

Once the number was written down he capped the pen and dropped it back in its proper place. Shirou giggled while holding up the messily written number scrawled as if a two year old wrote it. His feathers were ripe cold, and with the heat of the stand warming him up he had yet to fully thaw his tiny body! He finished his goodbyes, but got caught as Orville had pipped in his own two cents. He... He talked so bizarre!

A dim sparkle twinkled across his minty eyes, and he tried to keep himself steady as he plopped down onto the snow making a soft slap with his feet. Head tilted, Shirou held out a wing and pressed it against his chest in a gracious act of bowing toward the proper Japanese speaker. Orville was in some strange sense of the word posh, yet he held a friendliness to him that Shirou could appreciate. His bill clacked at Orville in a jovial quack, "Quack! Well I'll be damned! Ain't you cute! That's a hellish accent you got there, but I do like it! Nice to see so many travelin' folk 'round here. Name's Ahiru Shirou, but call me Ahiru, please! Uh... Shoot, I hate to make this so darn short, but I gotta get home! It's gettin' so late... Ooh! If you ever come to Tatooin then stop by! Ain't hard to miss me."

His laughter picked up as he bowed his head to the group of renowned faces. They were all having such a good time, and he was too! He loved hanging out with the lot of them, but he understood when time was up then time was up. With one last glance over the cozy stand, Shirou began to stumble forward on his feet spreading his wings out. A select few people gasped and cooed as Shirou hopped up into the air and took off. Feathers sparkled, and he was down right chilly so high up. Feet tucked up into his feather bottom where his sweater ended, and he honked out a sneeze in the form or an unlikely quack.

Jeez, he wished he could fly south for the winter!

Steam began to rise from beneath Jin as Sojito’s friend ordered the duck yakisoba. Much to Duck’s realization, Jin had his own. Eating duck was a common thing, he’d indulged in it himself in the past, the unusual element to the setting was actually Shirou. There was no point in picking a fight with someone over that matter. Once, more he’d let it rest. The pair though, we’re certainly starting to get on Jin’s nerves. The steam dissipated shortly after.

He retrieved the bottle from Orville and lifted it somewhat, as an acknowledgement in his part. “You have some strange cravings, I’ll tell you that...” He looked towards Flic, and the shame was almost unbecoming. To have a complete stranger, a foreigner above it all, offer him money so he could pay for his food. If he refused, it was likely that she’d insist and the situation would be even harder then. Jin looked towards the menu and then back to Flic’s hand. He carefully picked what was necessary for his order and offered it forward towards the chef. “I’ll have pork.”

He retrieved what little change was returned to him and offered it in the bunny’s direction. “Zhan Kew” (Thank You). Jin spoke in English with the heaviest of accents. He then switched back to Japenese. “Your Japanese is better than my English, so there is no shame in it. I’ll pay this back for you three-fold one day, I promise. How long are you staying in Japan for?” He spoke as slow and clear as he could, offering pauses where he could in order for her to follow.

As Jin’s order was handed to him, the duck began his farewell. It touched a place in Jin’s heart, the sight did. Shirou’s appearance and the fact he was so well intended had somehow touched a soft spot for Jin. Though Jin would not say it, it was much like when you’re told to watch over your small cousin. Jin wasn’t sure just how well Shirou could defend himself, but he knew it was understandably so that he would leave. Whether Shirou was telling the truth in the reason for his leave or not, Jin suspected it had to do with the continuous remarks about his quirk. Jin could not help but shake his head as the little duck waddled off into the distance.

Soon after however, his order was up. He reached over and picked it up along with sticks that were on the counter. “Can you spare three glasses?” Jin’s question was responded to with the rough placing of three stacked plastic glasses and a protest behind it.

Jin looked to Sojito’s friend. “Why three? Well, frankly, I don’t like you. I’m sure you understand. You can share cups if you like, I won’t stop you from doing that. ” In Jin’s mind, there was some form of justice in his act.
