On days like these, days where a young teen really doesn’t have much to do, Kingsley finds himself to be a bit uneasy. Being in the house all day with the AC on is one thing, but he could definitely change the weather if he wanted to in order to suit his needs. ”Maybe I’d want it to rain or something? But, wouldn’t that be a bit inconvenient for some people? I mean...eventually” But still, he shouldn’t let this day go to waste, so Kingsley decided to go and play dance dance revolution at the nearest arcade. The arcade had some cool air conditioning, and it also had a food court. Spending some time there for a few hours wouldn’t be so bad.

When Kehai initially signed the deal to come over to Japan to work for a model agency, he didn't really think much about it. There wasn't any planning, hell, he didn't even bother to learn some Japanese. To be honest, he completely forgot until the day before he had to hop on the plane. His agent probably really hated him, he was lazy as hell and was nearly always high. Luckily for him, he hadn't smoke anything for a good day or two, maybe three. So upon being told that he had to pack and wake up early, he was in a good enough head space to do it all without any hiccups.

Fast forward a few days, here he was in Japan house in a decent enough apartment. He had to room with two other guys, but they had their own rooms so it wasn't so bad. He tried to stay out of their business and they did the same. The agency he worked for would often send a driver to pick him up and take him to the locations he had to be at. After some hours of sitting in make-up and all that shit, he would do his job. Typically, when he worked, he tried to stay off of weed, it gave him a clearer mindset, but he was always annoyed by something. Like the fact that it was fucking winter here, having to model in the cold was never fun and he hated every second of it.

Which was why he was glad today was his day off. The other two were out working out or hanging with friends, so he decided to do something as well. Taking his phone and a translation book given to him, he used his maps to find a mall that was not far from where his location. Calling for a cab, he used his phone to translate his location for him and the man nodded. Once he was dropped off, he paid what he owed and made his way out of his car. As it was driving away, he looks up to see something that was too small to be a mall... "Is... Is this an Arcade? The fuck? What the hell, man."

It was a bit of a walk, but Kingsley still managed to enjoy it. On the way over, he stopped by a corner store to pick up a small can of coconut water, something that he sort of grew up on after it kept being offered to him by his sensei. It always reminded Kingsley of him when the days continued to get hot like this. Upon arrival, Kinsley didn’t necessarily notice the car going down the street, but he did end up paying attention to the foreigner that got out of the car. “ Huh? Foreigner? You don’t see that everyday…” Kingsley then walked up to the man, thinking that the cab driver was a bit ignorant with the communications.

“I speak English, are you lost sir?”

Going through his phone, there was a moment of disbelief that this fucker would just drop him off in front of a.... Arcade? Did they really still have these? Wow, he could have sworn these sort of places died off decades ago. Scratching his head in annoyance, he raised his hoodie over his ears to protect his ears as the cold didn't seem to agree much with his body. With the mall being a good two miles away, he decided it was best to just go in and see what the arcade had going on. At the very least, he could make a call for another cab while not freezing to death.

As he was about to head inside, he could hear an English voice coming from his right. Looking that direction he saw a kid pop up asking him if he was lost. Raising a brow, he didn't expect to come across someone that spoke English so soon. He had expected at least one or two in the arcade, but this was fine as well. "Eh, sort of... Yes and no. I gave the told the cab driver to take me to the mall using a translator, guess it said Arcade instead. Whatever, I was going to go in and call again. Better to wait somewhere that isn't snowing, ya know. Interesting, wouldn't have expected a young one like you to know English. They teach you all young or you learn it at home?" Curious, it would have been easier if they did so, at least he wouldn't have to worry about having to use a translator.

“Oh, so that’s what happened. You see, the thing about cab drivers is that their brain starts to shrink sometimes when a foreigner greases their palms. Prestige, the idea that they can get a little bit of more money out of you, something like that. “ Though, the question got a little more complicated when he was asked about the origin of learning the language. “Well, there is an old sensei of mine that taught it to me. I guess it was a bit of a perk that came with learning a few things as well. Though, it looks like you have a bit of time to kill, and lucky for you, so do I. Is there anything you want to take a look at? I was heading over to the arcade to play a few games, but I don’t know If an old timer like yourself is interested in that.” At least Kingsley was being a bit respectful towards the man’s time, maybe he wanted to do something else? “But If there is a place you want to go I can show you."

The kid was quick to respond with a reasoning behind the cab sending him to the wrong location. It made sense, though it was partly his fault for never taking the time to learn a second language. If he recalled, he had an option to do so when he was in Highschool, but he didn't quite pay attention that much during that time. Scratching his head some, he gave a shrug of his shoulders before looking to his phone. "Makes sense... Oh well, nothing I can do about it now." He spoke before looking back to the boy.

Answering his earlier question, it appears the boy learned English from a teacher of his. What the teacher thought him, he wouldn't know, but it sounded interesting, to say the least. After breezing past that, he would ask Kehai if there was anything he would like to do since they both were free. Taking a moment before actually answering, he had to think about it for a second. Did he really want to hang out with some snot nose brat? It wasn't until he called him old timer did Kehai took offense to what was being said.

"Is it a universal code for you kids to assume anyone over twenty to be a tired old geezer? I am probably in better shape than you are, kid, but if you want proof. Let's head in, I am more than happy with schooling you in some things." He spoke up before heading inside the arcade. Looking around, it didn't seem that popular at the moment, probably because it was currently winter. "Alright, you get to pick, what game you want to get beat in?"

Not necessarily a tradition, but you would have to be well off to go through some international travelling. On top of that, those who have the money for that must have worked for a long tie. For all I know, you could of either retired at forty and have the face of a god, or be rich and in your twenties after hitting the lottery or investing in something. “ Though, Kingsley would scoff at the fact that the guy would say that he was probably in better shape than kingsley.

“Mister, calisthenics is my middle name, but I don’t doubt that you could get lucky in a game of tekken or two. “ This was said as Kingsley took point and started to lead the guy in. “So what’s your name stranger? I’m Kingsley.

I am either becoming my father or I have come to realize what he used to mean when he talks about kids or teenagers? Well, damn, thought I had some more years before that happened. A bit lost in his thoughts there, he made his way inside the Arcade with the boy following. Getting a response, the boy spoke of how him being here meant he was well off. Scratching the back of his head there, a grin would etch out along his face before shaking his head a bit. The man wasn't wrong, but that didn't quite answer his earlier question.

"I'm not rich... I just happen to have a job... One that requires you to travel and crap like that. You'll learn these things when you grow up some more, kido." A bit snarky with his response, he looks around the room for a moment before beginning to come up with choices for the games they were to play. "Your middle name? That's a shame, I would feel bad about having such a middle name when I am about to lose. But hey, whatever makes you feel better."

When the boy suggested Tekken, Kehai took a moment before saying something. All anyone could see was a big grin across his lips. "I've been Tekken longer than you've been on this earth. If you think you can beat me, you're mistaken. Also, the name is Kehai." Heading to the game in question, he began to look for some change in his pocket. "So, Kingsly? That's a weird name for someone that lives in Japan or is Japanese. Ya mixed?"

Do you travel the world? That sounds pretty interesting, must be some kind of international business man or something. Though, it doesn’t hurt to get a chance to broaden your horizons and look at how other people live. Well, with your first few hours, or days from being here, what do you think about the people here? “

More or less, Kingsley wondered how the opinions of a foreigner could change after being here for a few days. Could they think of something a lot different than what Kingsley thought as a native? Maybe he didn’t understand much? Or better yet, maybe he didn’t necessarily think too differently than Kingsley did.

“My name? Well, I’m not necessarily Japanese, I’m Mongolian to a degree. You know, a mix of Russian and Korean or something. A bit of international studies in order to be bilingual to a degree, by choice. I think Americans are pretty cool, so I learned English. “

Though, it did make Kingsley wonder about Kehai’s name.

“Your name is also pretty unique, but I won't make a guess about it or anything. If you haven’t changed it, then you must be proud of it. If you are proud of your name, there’s no reason to bring it into question, right? Oh, let me get some tokens. “

Kingsley would say this as he walked to the left as soon as he came inside. After coming back, he had a small bag of tokens and handed it to Kehai. “A small greeting from native. It’s not much, but on days like this, it costs only one token to play.

"I don't know about travel the world, but I have traveled a good deal because of my job. I am a model, so if I get contracted to go some places to work there for a few days or months, I do it. Typically, I don't normally travel around the places I visit. I do my job, hang out in the room or place they put me in and relax. I am only walking around here because I got bored and I was curious about the malls, or something like that."

If Kehai was being honest, he hated traveling. For one, as someone who enjoys the medicinal uses of marijuana, it was always difficult going to different places. For one, he had to stay sober his time while here, it's a rule he created for himself whenever he works. Even so, there wasn't much of chance of him finding a dealer unless he asked around. Asking around was never smart, it could get you locked up in an unknown place and Kehai didn't have time for shit like that. At the very least, there was always alcohol... Even if he wasn't a big fan.

"Mongolian? That's different. Huh." At that point, the boy had pointed out how his name was also unique. Which is not shocking, he has heard it enough times before. Most say that honestly, to which they would always try to guess his ethnicity. Oddly enough, no one has ever guessed the two races correctly, it was always one or the other and perhaps something else. Kehai was a dick, so he didn't bother telling them or anything.

Taking the bag of coins, Kehai looks in slightly surprised. "Ugh, thanks, kid. I owe you one, I guess. Now, let's get started. Haven't played this in a while, but it shouldn't take me long to get into the groove of things. Just know, I don't hold back, not even for kids. Well, none that are over ten or twelve..." Heading up to the machine, he put in his coin and waited for Kingsly to do the same.

"Oh, cool. That seems to be the life, you basically get paid to work out, take care of yourself, and walk around. You can keep the clothes that they give you, they fly you out, meet exotic women, seems like a good ol time. Though, i wouldn't know anything about that, haha, no really. "

Kingsley never met a model before, he always thought they were stuck up and too wealthy to find themselves in common places like this. Though, maybe they can be a bit more down to earth than Kingsley originally thought.

After Kingsley put the token inside the machine as well, he started to play the game, picking Miguel as his character. "So why modeling anyway? Was being blessed with genetics just made it a smart move? Or is it more serious?

There was some truth in the way the boy described Kehai's job. He did get paid to keep fit and healthy. He did have to walk around here and there, depending on what he had to do. He was flown different places and yes, there was exotic women. However, there were some aspects that the boy wasn't aware of. Such as having to wake up at early hours spending hours on set in hair, makeup, and dressing. Then when it came time for the pictures, that took even longer as you usually had to take multiple pictures, many had to be perfect, which didn't give him or any of the other models a rest. You arrive home late and you repeat the process the next day. Then there was the locations, some freezing cold or blazing hot, which you had to work through as if it didn't bother you.

"You got some stuff right." He responded while going through the game to find a character. His go to character happened to be in the game, so he didn't hesitate to choose the character. Meanwhile, Kingsley began to ask why Kehai chose to be a model. The boy was met with silence at that point, not much could actually be said as he didn't know why he chose to model. There wasn't a clear answer as to why, but Kehai had to give the kid something.

"Something like that, I guess. At the time, I wasn't planning on going to college and the deal they offered was good. I got to travel, help my parents, and learn new things all at the same time. I quit after four years, however, personal reasons or whatever. As for why I went back... I am not sure, maybe the hours were better? Eeh, can't really answer that question. Now, you ready to get started?"

"I understand that sense of responsibility, it's always good to give back to the people who birthed you, eventually. Sometimes it never happens, lives just end too suddenly for anyone to do about it. In this case, I'm glad we have heroes in order to mitigate the carnage. There's a natural fear of all of us to live our lives when we soon learn that we can't manage it ourselves when the real danger happens."

After picking the character, the game would start "Ready. " He wasn't an expert, but pressing a few buttons seemed to reveal that he at least had some familiarity with this characters and what it had to offer, trying to put some pressure on Kehai. "You would have had a better chance on a system, i favor joysticks a lot more. "

The boy seemed to had somewhat of a grasp as to why Kehai went into modeling. Though, he trailed off into territory that Kehai didn't quite care much for. Heroes were never anything he actually cared about. There were times where he may have had wanted to be one back in his younger days, but now? No, that wasn't anything he was fine with doing. After the things he has dealt with in his life, he couldn't present himself like most of the heroes. As if there is hope for all and everyone... Try telling that to someone that has lost two people they loved because of natural reasons. There isn't much hope to have after that, nope, he was fine with being a stoner that also modeled.

Even so, he wasn't going to be an ass and bring that up to the boy. As much as he was a dick, he wasn't going to ruin a kid's possible hopes or dreams. For all he knew, the kid could have wanted to be a hero one day, not that there is much good in something such as that, but that was just how he felt honestly. "Ugh, yeah, sure." There was not much he could actually say, he refused to be all chipper about something, he just let the kid have his views without putting them down.

"Yeah, sure kid. I've been playing games since before you were born. Still do, actually. The great thing about being a model, you have a lot of free days. So while you are at school for most of the day, I am chilling at home playing any and every game I want. You don't have a chance, but I will be sure to go easy on you." Kehai's use of the machine was a lot more sequences than the other boy. It was as if he knew what he was doing with it came to the character, even the annoying combos that most hate.
