A cold evening.

Sun was setting calmly into the distance, making the clouds still hanging in the sky turn into many colors, ranging from flaming oranges and dark reds, to mellow shades of pink. You could hear a small wind flowing through the trees, tickling the leaves as gently as ever with a glorious rustle.

A brown haired man stepped out of his wooden cottage with his hands full of papery trash. It was about time he got to spring cleaning, with summer already so close. The winter had gone swimmingly. So comfy had his cottage been during those months that he barely put his nose out to go shopping for stuff he needed.

He stuffed all of the old bags of snacks and Microwave meals into a big metallic barrel right in front of the terrace, and started stomping the pile deeper inside it. A yawn emerged from his lips. Not exactly the most energetic thing to do, but it had to be done.

Besides, Rebuilding the cottage every year wasn`t exactly the best of ideas for keeping some bread on the table.

After a brief laughing session over the fact, he grabbed a bottle of gasoline and poured it into the barrel as well. He scratched a matchstick against his lower jaw, as it ignited violently, and he proceeded to throw it into the barrel. With a fierce little BOOM! and a flash of light from the sparking flames, he now had what a person from the city would propably call a "hobo roost". He lifted his hands towards it, feeling the warmth of the flames... Until they were calmly sitting in the barrel on top of all the trash.

"Aaaah..." A small spout of flame erupted from the tuft of hair on his forehead. It had been a while since he had done something like this. It was not nearly as risky as all the other stuff he used to do... but currently it was all he needed. Maybe he should get a dog or a cat? They tended to get a bit wild occasionally... Wonder if he had some alcohol left. He could use that to have a little fun too...

He breathed the smoke of the barrel in a little bit accidentally, and coughed up a storm. Like something out of a chain smoker. It echoed a little bit in the trees...

The parking lot had seemed vast, never ending, going from its original length, to a tarmac, to a highway before it abruptly ended and vanished from his eyes, the outskirts of the city before him. Jackson had turned back upon hearing some screams, cheers and wails. At least, he remembered turning back. He couldn't be too sure of anything anymore. One voice was saying he'd killed everyone in the stadium, their blood dripping down the stairs and making a red pool in the middle which he swam in for hours. Another voice declared he'd run away like a coward, letting his fear get the better of him instead of facing this battle head on.

He couldn't face this fight anymore, however. Every time he opened his eyes, this was some new horror facing him, some frightening visage of himself tearing into his classmates. Denali appeared the most. Beru once. After a while, he stopped opening them, barreling through bushes and trees, carving a path out of daisies and eventually stern oaks.

Even with his eyes closed, however, he could almost feel how badly his eye had mutated, the orifice almost gurgling under the lid as tears streamed across the boy's cheeks, imagining his parents walking away in wonder of where their son was.

Jackson's stomach had started to growl, his demonic form egging him on to scavenge for wild life, get a taste for blood. A few times, it felt tempting, but instead he forced his limbs to keep chugging, pressing forward into a place where he could just wilt away and cause no further trouble for anyone.

Strong his limbs were, they could only chew through so much dirt for so long. Panting turned into heaving as the young teen's tongue found itself incapable of producing any more saliva. With a few more rough steps, the boy finally fumbled onto the ground like a dying horse, lying on his bare back a few moments before he coughed up a storm that let his lungs empty all the built up mucus in his throat. With a groan, the boy then opened his eyes to find a tangerine sky, dotted with clouds and trees reaching up to infinity.

Sitting up, a few light coughs shaking leaves off his back, Jackson hugged his knees, his mind empty once more that day. He had no idea where he was, a good day's running putting him anywhere in Japan from his perspective, and that's only if it was a day. His demonic form might very well have made him swim to China for all he knew. Speaking of the devil...

"Boy, I'm beat, what about you?" The smoky figure said as he performed some stretches, snickering as his translucent knuckles joints popped.

In a moment of pure rage, Jackson jumped to his feet and sliced at the apparition, the strike cleaving a good chunk off of a thick tree and making nearby birds skitter into the air.

Cackling, the visage held its darkened hands up as it stated, "Woah, woah, woah there friendo. Another stunt like that and I can just hop right back in the driver's seat." There was a new dark scowl, almost taunting, yet Jackson simply fumed a moment before turning around and continuing his journey into the depths of the countryside. His demonic copy followed however, gliding over the leaves with a smirk, sliding in front of his host and floating backwards as Jackson moved forwards. "Ignore me sure, you can play that trick again. Word to the wise though: I know you Jackie. I know how much you really hate that name, your favorite flavor of ice-cream, how old you were the first time someone broke your leg. So huff and puff all you want out here, cause I know you'll go back to all that wonderful civilization again some day, all those wonderful civvies to gorge on. Till then, we can have fun out here."

Jackson came to a stop a he heard the sound of a door opening, ducking behind a bush as he watched a brown-haired man exit his cabin, creating a fire for himself out of old containers. It so happened that as the burly man relaxed, a chill wind picked up, the warmth built up by the day's exercise fading as Jackson sat there, a shiver moving up the boy's spine.

"Imagine a nice toasty fire, all to yourself..." Only a voice this time, almost rumbling, far deeper than the boy's own. "Just get him out of the way, and you'll be all alone, like you wanted. I bet his has food. Get creative enough and he is food."

The young teen licked his lips a moment, eyeing the golden blaze, but the mans laughter and subsequent coughing brought him out of it. Shaking his head, Jackson sat himself back down, facing the forest, an expanse cold as the night seeming to greet him.

Sighing quietly, the boy looked down at his hands, bringing them together to create a dark red flame. As always, it held no warmth and he knew holding it over a pack of matches would create nary a spark. It only gave off its glow, Jackson leaning his head against the tree behind him and staring up once more. A small smile tugged on the boy's face as a thought came to him.

"For a guy so high on himself, you sure are useless in the long range department..."

Jackson waited, no response.

The boy undid his flame and closed his eyes as he hugged himself.

He wished he'd brought his shirt.

The man tried to calm his breathing for a little moment, as he leaned against his knees. "Okhay... COUGH! GAK! That`s propably the main reason I don`t do that too often..." He spat on the ground. He needed to get a Sauna built. Getting smoked like this wasn`t exactly healthy. But what could you do. He would propably just get so excited in there, that it would suddenly burn down under him, and after that, it was off to hide in a new place.

"...Hm?"

Something flickered near one of the trees... Did the sparks from the barrel fly that far away? Bah, that would need to be an insanely strong spark if it was one. There had to be someone there... Maybe hippies? Now that winter was over with they started running around naked like bunnies joining with "the wilds", all happy and dandy. They were an annoying bunch. No care in the world for personal property.

Instead of going straight over to the flicker and face the guy off, He widened his pose, with a widening smirk. It was the first hippie of the season. He had to make it somewhat special. And if it wasn`t a hippie, atleast it would open his throat all proper. The hippie was gonna get a scare of his life!

He chuckled to himself, as the little flicker on his forehead engulfed his whole head... the flames grew larger and larger... until they were like a giant flaming bats head. It was almost like the sun had risen all of a sudden into the darkness.

"HEY! HIPPIE! THIS IS PERSONAL PROPERTY! GET THE HELL OUT AND I WILL LET YOU GO WITH JUST BURNT EYEBROWS!!!"

...A very dirtymouthed, obnoxiously loud sun, that wanted to have a little fun with poor passersby. A chuckleworthy show indeed if you weren`t the target.

Jackson tried to hug himself tighter, attempting to block out the cold forest winds and keep himself some measure of warm. This proved ineffective, however, as the breeze simply slipped through his arms and doused him in a wave of chills. The boy sat, shivering a few moments before he started to feel sleep take him. The cold winds dulled, as his mind wondered and images of imagined carnage faded into obscurity.

The loud rustling of leaves shook Jackson awake, but the yelling and bright flaming hair brought him to full attention. The boy jumped to his feet, unfortunately finding them dead from all the running and fell back onto his rear, releasing a frightened yelp as he tried to back away from his attacker. A reactive swipe of claws narrowly missed the man's nose as the young teen's face was contorted into fear and sadness, not having expected to be forced into a fight so soon.

Jackson sat in his spot, panting a few moments, before the words of the woodsman reached him in full. The man believed he was some kind of hippie and wanted him off his property. The threat itself, while loud, wasn't on the level he'd been accustomed to, and with the shock of the yelling having worn off, Jackson's face returned to a neutral canvas. Hurriedly closing his right, demonic eye and then placing his hand over it, Jackson managed to stabilize himself as he stood, pushing past his low stamina and looking the woodsman in the eyes.

"I'm not a hippie, I'm just passing through... The boy was light-headed for a moment, the bushes spinning around his open eye, but he hid it well enough he doubted the man would notice. "But if an angry hobo wants me gone, I'm more than happy to oblige."

The orange-haired teen made an about turn, his balance and stamina feeling as though they'd returned enough for a short walk away. Jackson couldn't stay near this man long, especially not when he seemed to be so violent. The boy couldn't trust himself getting into a fight with anyone at the moment, not knowing if he'd stop himself from going too far.

However, when Jackson attempted to make his leave, he found that two simple steps sent his limbs into a numb shock, having to lean against the nearest tree with his left arm and clutch a growling stomach with the right. The boy's vision was getting blurrier as the smells of fresh leaves and animal droppings that was the forest seemed to fade in and out.

"Can't tell up from down? You really are a pathetic sight. Should've asked Mommy for a sandwich before you abandoned her."

The man was visibly a bit surprised, that the boy just took the scare into his face with only a momentary flinch of fear... Yeah, he was definitely not a hippie, atleast not a fully-fledged one, being just shirtless instead of wearing his whole birthday suit. The giant mane of flame Around his head contorted into a face of confusion, and flickered weaker... Until the boy outright called him a hobo. "HOBO!? YOU ARE THE ONE RUNNING IN THE WOODS LIKE A TANUKI!" He didn`t exactly seem like the most stable person, was what he was saying.

Still, he couldn`t shake the feeling that he had seen this kid somewhere before... But where? He didn`t associate with edgy forest dwellers usually. He had seen one hang himself, and called a police back then to investigate, but this was completely different...

However, instead of trying to fight back for his right to stay, the boy just turned around to leave. The mans hair almost visually died out, as it turned back into just a tiny flicker on his forehead... A mix of confusion and almost disappointment over the fact of not getting a proper scare kind of killed his fighting spirit. On top of that, he was being ignored.

...Man, the boy was a miserable sight. He couldn`t even leave with pride. The man sighed. "Oh hell no, are you leaving in that condition. You are atleast gonna get a proper fucking shirt first." The mans shoulders lit aflame, as he grabbed Jackson by the arm, and dragged him over to the burning barrel. He could see the mans dirty stubble, and greyish skin. The fire he generated had seemingly left some soot behind. "Sit here, and wait!"

The guy ran inside quickly. You could see him in the windows opening wardrobes, looking for a teenager sized shirt... Until he seemed to grab something with him, and ran back outside, throwing it at Jackson. "There! put it on, I will look for something for you to eat too." As the guy would vanish into the house again, the little snaps of the burning items in the barrel would become apparent. With its bright light, things around it would seem a little bit darker than they already were.

...The shirt Jackson had gotten would seem insanely familiar. It was a simple grey jacket, with green stripes at the end of its sleeves, and a longer one going over the shoulders... It was an old and worn U.A students uniforms jacket!

The demonic voice faded back out as Jackson forcibly righted himself by pushing off the tree and took another step forward, not prepared for a large hand to grasp his arm, tugging him away from the innards of the forest and towards the man's campsite. The words came thudding into his ears as if they were translated by a drum set, but the boy was able to grasp the fact that the burly stranger wanted him to at least get clothed before he continued his trek.

This seemed a far cry from the angered woodsman he'd been introduced to moments ago, though the harsh language and attitude were still present, Jackson swore this guy was acting like some sort of UA teacher: Giving the basics before they sent the students off.

Tossed to the floor, the young teen was commanded to stay put as the man went inside to search for some clothing. Jackson grumbled back a response, whether it was positive or negative was anyone's guess. He'd hang around for now till the unshaven man was appeased, then make a run for it. The geezer was bound to get bored of looking after some weirdo after a while, then he could return to his trek to... wherever.

There were a few clinks and clanks as the broad stranger looked around his home for clothing, his shadow painting the ground in front of the boy, returning shortly with a multi-colored jacket and telling the boy to put it on, and that he'd be back with food shortly.

Now Jackson was raising an eyebrow, figuring this stranger more than likely would want something in exchange for all these niceties. Cutting up some trees blocking a view, hunting for him, doing housework? Any number of possibilities could come to fruition, and Jackson didn't see a simply kind man as being one of them. He couldn't afford to, quite honestly. The boy thought about perhaps chucking the jacket into the flames, and running off, sending a clear message that the child wished to be left alone and giving enough cause to the man that he should no longer help the brat, if he was really just being kind.

Nodding to himself, Jackson lifted the garment up to eye level and prepared to chuck it in, pausing as he noticed a familiar pattern catch his eye. Even in the dim light it was obvious the material was old and faded, but one could clearly see this grey and green jacket was a product of UA. Jackson pondered the significance of the item. An actual teacher? Graduate? Fan of the school? Nonetheless, the item helped sooth some of the demonic child's doubts, figuring that someone connected to UA (much as he disagreed with some of the institute's values) could be all that bad.

He'd wait longer, however, before putting the item on. He still didn't know if this man was trying to earn his trust for deeper motives.

A small breeze blew by as the fire crackled, a dark red light now more present as dusk slowly shifted to night and cold took on a stronger meaning as a word in the boy's mind.

"Maybe just for now..." The boy thought, shuddering, as he slipped the jacket over his form and scooted closer to the fire. While no longer deathly cold, a new emotion, yet familiar, rose to the boy's facial features: a light pout. It seemed the woodsman's own jacket was a size too large for Jackson, the boy not too happy having his form enveloped by clothes meant for his age group. Still, even with floppy sleeves crossed as he pouted, he had to admit the jacket made a decent blanket.

A spark within the barrel caught Jackson's attention, a thought coming to mind as he surveyed the slowly dying fire. Perhaps his secondary ability was to empower flames? Worth a shot, and better than thinking about what was happening to him and what he'd done.

Creating a softball-sized orb of dark red flame, Jackson brought his hand close to the bottom of the barrel, spying a hole and attempted to put his fire through. While the flame bent inwards, there was no change in the natural fire before him, regardless of how much juice Jackson fed into his hand, a dark red blaze coming midway up the barrel before the young teen retracted his hand with a gasp, biting his tongue as he waved his hand. Evidently, he'd scorched it by touching the barrel, thus proving he had no extra defense against natural flames. He'd been unsure about the golems at the festival as proof, doubting they were natural creations and more than likely a sort of quirk product, but this sealed the deal.

With a sigh, Jackson sat back as he said, "What a useless quirk..."

The boy gazed up, the last hints of orange in the sky vanishing as a dark purple took hold, black with white spots not far behind. The boy's stomach growled loudly, and the young teen wondered if he could trust this man not to poison his meal. Clothes were one thing, but this was something he was going to ingest!... then again, the alternative was...

"I think I saw a dear over there, wanna see what its kidneys taste like?"

Yeah, he'd take his chances this time.

Jackson was so interested in creating the small ball of flame, that he didn`t notice the small little cinder of fire flickering on the cottage window. The man was standing there, glaring at the little boy. Honestly, he assumed the boy to leave immediately when his back was turned, and taken his old shirt with him. Instead, he seemed to seize the opportunity to do something with the barrel instead. At first he worried for a moment, the fire on his forehead gaining weight. He had poured fuel in there. Put straight to the bottom, the barrel would propably explode!

...However, it weirdly enough didn`t. His head tilted in confusion... Come to think of it, the fire was not exactly colored normally... So perhaps he wasn`t a pyromaniac, even if it would be perfectly opposite of a hippie... Quirky flames indeed... However, it just fueled his confusion... Where had he seen this kid before?

He grabbed the 2 bags of sausages he had already pulled out before coming over to the window, and walked out with them in hand, throwing one packet straight at the boys stomach. "Fresh from the refrigerator!" He walked over to the closest tree and snapped two branches from it. Suddenly his arm turned into a small clawed inferno, as he quickly drew it over one of them, producing a charred, but sharp looking stick. He speared two of the sausages in his own packet with it, while throwing the unsharpened one to Jackson. "Don`t make me do all the work now. You are still trespassing afterall." Heh, if the kid knew how to control the flames at the level not to risk the barrel to pop, he could most likely handle a simple stick, not to mention the plastic bag...

He moved his sausages calmly close to the flame. they started getting darker in color, as the man sat down in the cold grass next to the boy. "Nothing beats a picnic in a dark forest, wouldn`t you agree? All the calm noises... all the little animals running around..." He calmly sighed. This was pretty therapeutic. And he had been recommended something like this back then...

"Now then..." The flame emerged on his forehead again, as he looked at the boy with a clearly curious grin.
The sausage audibly popped, showing a crack trickling grease into the barrel.. "What`s your name, and what are you doing in my part of the woods this late at night?"

The boy gazed at the starts as he wondered what his parents were doing right then. Had they tried to contact him? Had they simply assumed he was too injured to see, and was being cared for? Had the UA authorities started tracking him down? Was Diego after him, wanting revenge for what had happened in their final bout? Were the others out partying and celebrating a year of school now over, or were they also looking for him?

Was he ever going to go back?

The pack of sausages hit his abdomen suddenly, the owner of the nearby hut having chucked the meaty food right at his temporary guest, giving the oxymoron of being fresh from the refrigerator before moving over to the closest tree.

"Thanks..." Jackson mumbled as the man got to work, snapping two twigs off the side of a tree, and creating a claw-like structure out of flames. From there, he shaped the wood into a point before he past the unsharpened stick to Jackson, saying the boy should do some of the work too.

While fair, the boy wondered what the woodsman was getting at exactly. Had he seen Jackson toying around with his fire quirk, and assumed the boy was in the same boat as him power-wise?

"Sorry to burst your bubble, but I can't do stuff like that. Not with my useless fire," the young teen declared, fiddling with his right sleeve before his hand appeared, using his blackened claws to shape the end of the stick into a fine point. "And I don't really think it's trespassing if you shoved me over here when I was tryin to leave."

Stick now sharp, the boy used the same claws to open his packet and went so far as to pick out three sausages from his packet. Having run for so long, he'd worked up a fair appetite. The meat and skin sizzled over the small fire, Jackson checking a few times before getting too impatient and eating the first one only slightly cooked. It was chewy, but had decent flavor.

The man was now next to Jackson, the boy eyeing him before scooting away an inch or so, the woodsman talking about how much he enjoyed a picnic at night and asking for the boy's opinion on the matter.

"Come on, stick close to him. He's feeding you, clothing you, least you could do is not be so weird. How else are you supposed to gain his trust and ditch him down the line, heart-broken... ashamed..."

"Just shut up damn it." The boy blinked away a tear or two as he responded mentally to the dark apparition before answering the man. "Quiet ain't my go to. I start to think too much. Don't think I'd ever start stayin in the woods if I had a say about it..."

Then came the most obvious question of all, one Jackson had figured would have been asked sooner, especially given this man's propensity for territory. Still, he had no real reason to lie, maybe just skirt around one half of the question.

"My name's Jackson... and I didn't mean to come through anyone's property. I was just... passing through the forest is all..."

Figuring it fair he get to ask a question back, the boy continued, "So then who are you, and why do you have some gawdy, old UA jacket?"

The man, wondered what the heck the boy meant with his flames being weak. they seemed strong enough by themselves. "You are trespassing as long as you are on my front yard. Thats the rule here." For now atleast. Its not like he wanted to blamed for someone dying in the woods just cause he scared the heck out of them. Hippies were already enough, Police would just be extra.

However, seeing the boys hand turn black, the mans head turned on its side again, as he took one of the sausages from the stick and bit on it furiously. "For a weak quirk, you are doing exactly what I asked you to do. You trying to lie to me? A guy in your situation propably shouldn`t be lying. You seem sickly enough to topple over from me just flicking a finger." However, this part of the quirk tickled that memory bone in his skull again... It was getting sort of annoying... he wasn`t exactly the most patient person.

However, as Jackson uttered his name, that was the last key he needed, for him to finally realize the situation, as he suddenly got fired up (literally). With his bright flames covering his face, he pointed at the boy, accidentally dropping his second sausage into the barrel in the process of the charred stick snapping against it. "OOOH! You are one of the U.A kids aren`t ya?! I saw you on tv!" He suddenly grabbed Jackson by the hand shaking it roughly, as his flames intensified. A proper face to face conversation with him was almost always like talking to a torch with the heat it emanated. In fact, it was like Jacksons own question had burned up with it.

"Honestly, I liked how you acted. You remind me of myself when I used to go to classes there! Always diving head first into trouble, and then needing to handle it myself." He smirked in Jacksons direction, as the flames formed around it to make it look even snarkier. "I tended to be able to get out of such messes in one piece though. Guess that`s to be expected though, with you being a first year."

He did still have one mystery in his mind though. His flaming smirk calmed into just a heaping pit of flaming sharp hair. "That flame quirk of yours must be pretty new addition? Don`t remember you trying to use it on anyone back there..." He got a bit closer to the boy, his nose almost touching his. His great flaming eyebrows lowering, and turning his face pretty serious looking. "...Or did you consider it that weak already back there? Cause it seemed to me you got it into a pretty cool ball already!"

The guy suddenly jumped up, And sent his fist in the air, it exploding into flaming peace sign, that lit up the place gloriously for a couple of seconds. "I would say you just aren`t trying enough!" he lowered his burning arm downwards, with it calming down. "You´d think U.A was ready to help you with this... They have dorms... Atleast they used to have before this one bitch burned them down." The man chuckled to himself. "Seriously, what the heck are you doing here, when you could be sleeping in a nice old bed over there?"

The boy was too busy munching away on his food to correct the man over what he meant by his quirk being weak. The meat was simply too enticing to really start pausing and grumbling about unnecessary things. He probably wouldn't be sticking around long enough for it to really matter.

Truth be told, the meal had helped calm him down a bit, and given the new stamina he felt he could run a couple more hours, maybe find a cave before all the night critters started causing him trouble. That was, of course, under the assumption that this forest had caves somewhere and he wouldn't just be running out into the wild till he hopped out the other side. That was a later matter, however. For now, he was keen to dig into some more food.

All previous jitters once gone came back in a flash as the boy's hand was grasped and shaken like a salt container, bright flames and a loud voice slamming into his face as the woodsman claimed he recognized Jackson from the day's previous events. The young teen could barely return a small, awkward smile as the man's excitement dwindled away slightly and he started to explain how he liked Jackson's style. More so, how he "Always diving head first into trouble, and then needing to handle it myself."

"Yeah I've been marked as... reckless once or twice..." The young teen responded, scratching the back of his head, not having expected a UA fan of this caliber out in the woods, least of all not a former UA student if the mentions of classes and dorms. Though them being burnt down by the man before him was all the more a surprise. "Ya know they made the Halloween story about you last year... before things got... bad..."

Senses of chumminess floated away as Sugar Rampage flooded the boy's vision, a deep anger boiling up for a moment or so. What was worse was his dark, smokey clone appearing in the fire barrel, acting as if it were taking a bath. Now it really was just mocking him.

The comments over Jackson's fire being a new addition brought the young man back into the real world, and the boy thought he'd finally explain it outright.

"It's not a question of trying the fire just doesn't... do anything... Look." Pointing his hand right at the woodsman, the boy let loose a stream of dark red fire that reached from the barrel to the wooden abode, flooding right over the burly camper before the child. It, however, gave off no hear and simply past by with a light show before Jackson cut off the stream of Hellfire. "It couldn't so much as warm up gasoline, let alone hurt anyone. It's just a dumb quirk. Strength's at least useful for somethin'... Look, you've been real nice, but it's not safe anymore for me, thanks but-"

"Seriously, what the heck are you doing here, when you could be sleeping in a nice old bed over there?"

The young teen had gotten up and attempted to run off, but the question made him pause. There was no point in telling anyone, he'd just be wasting his breath on some stranger in the woods. But this visage, this inner demon... he had to tell someone while he was still sane enough to know the dark copy wasn't the real him.

Back to the fire and the hermit, the boy, feeling negative emotions bubbling to the surface, started to spill the beans. "I don't know if it's part of my quirk but... but there's somethin' in my head. It's twisted and evil, and it's always there. Tellin' me to hurt people, tear them apart."

"Don't forget gouge and feast on," the demonic smoke chimed in with a wink, hands behind its back as it reveled in its host anguish.

"What I did to Diego... what I was going to do... I lost control in the final round and I almost killed him. Whenever I get mad, or sad, or anything like that... it gets stronger. I can't be around people anymore. Not when I could... could..."

Quiet tears streamed down the boy's face as he furiously used the sleeves to wipe them away, imagining never seeing his family and friends again out of fear of their safety.

The man laughed at the implication of recklessness. He sounded exactly like the teachers. It was like they themselves didn`t know what bravery was!

However, his self-content silent bragging, was interrupted by the Jackson implying HE blew up the dorms. "You calling me a bitch!?" He shouted. He was clearly a bit weak towards the subject of U.A. "It was Blaire who did that not me! Used to be a teachers pet! Fricking girl got away with a ton of idiotic stuff, while I..." The mans flames intensified for a moment, as he seemingly tried to clear sweat from his forehead... which proved to be quite hard, when it evaporated almost instantly. "Seriously, I thought the school would brag about its "star players" to the new kids a bit more... Abyssal my ass..."

After his minor rant, he stomped around the cool grass for a moment, listening to the boys problems... heck, he even got a bit of a demonstration, as he excitedly took the flames directly in his face...

Man was he dissapointed. It lacked heat. He didn`t even lose his eyebrows from that one. The boy was speaking true after all... But maybe he was just being a wuss? That would make sense. If he himself was pissing his pants, he would put out his own flames. If this was the extent he could do, he wouldn`t be in the heroics... And he kept on mumbling about being in danger...

but then, like his balls had just dropped, Jackson decided to turn around, and finally tell what was up. "Dunno who this "Diego" is... but he sounds like he lacks backbone." Guess the boys worries were somewhat valid. That being a massive case of paranoia about going too violent.

However, as soon as the boy seemed to start crying, the man rolled his eyes, and immediately pointed a fiery finger towards him. "And there`s your first problem! That ain`t no go-getter attitude to my knowledge." The boy seemed confused and lost, both figuratively and literally. The man slammed his hand on jacksons shoulder. "I think I got your problem down... You lack the initial spark! Your flame is scrubby... Because YOU are scrubby!" The guy laughed again, as he circled the boy.

"You lack the burning excitement of using your quirk! You have flames AND this black skin thing, whatever it is." He crouched in front of the boy. "And, you do so little with them. It`s like you don`t WANT to use the flames to your advantage!" He jumped backwards, ripping his light jacket off of himself to reveal a vest of flaming patterns. "Comparatively, I have my flames at full power, at all times! And guess what: My innards are just fine, except for occasional flatulence."

"I would say your wussiness is preventing you from reaching your true potential" The man was getting more and more flaming, as he walked around the boy. If the boy even really had inner demons, It was propably his fault for letting them run rampant The boy needed to become a man. "Perhaps we need to get a bit of a spark inside of ya... Get you BURNING with passion!"

"And you know what is the best way of doing that?
Beating somebody you don`t like up!"
His bit round bellied build stretched his legs against the grassy ground. "And to empower that hate... You ain`t leaving my courtyard, until you actually make me burn on your own!" He smiled invitingly. As tense as he was, he seemed awfully relaxed for a guy about to beat up a child.

"Well, You wanna trust Suicider Riki!? Cause your little bitch fit is gonna get burned into prime class tenderloin!" Riki was perhaps a bit too excited about this, his hair crackling from his expectations.

The man's response to the Halloween story was less positive than expected. He'd figured the burly man would have been happy to find a legacy named after him of such a lasting decree. Instead he simply seemed... "upset" over the incorrect assumption it was him who burnt down the dorms. Apparently there was another student with a fire quirk that year, someone he apparently wasn't too fond of being confused with. Jackson himself chose to stay silent over them not actually naming the student in particular, as he doubted it'd get him little more than a typhoon's-worth of swears in his face.

More unexpected responses came his way as his tears garnered no amount of sympathy from the forest-dweller, but anger instead. Apparently the boy simply wasn't putting out enough of a "spark" to make his fire worth anything. At least according to the forest-dweller. The boy quickly left his crying as he attempted to correct the UA alumni.

" Your flame is scrubby... Because YOU are scrubby!"

"Look, I can get excited about it as much as I want but-"

"You lack the burning excitement of using your quirk! You have flames AND this black skin thing, whatever it is."

"It's not about excitement! I've tried and it just doesn't do anything! And the demon arms are completely-"

"And, you do so little with them. It`s like you don`t WANT to use the flames to your advantage!"

"I've TRIED-"

From there on, the boy couldn't get a word in, the taller of the two dead-set on calling the young teen out on his perceived reluctance. Part of Jackson was ready to clock the guy right in the face to have him keep quiet for five seconds, while the other part was secretly happy to find someone else had been in UA and was so completely removed from their regular rhetoric of heroism, politeness and such.

Then came an ultimatum: If Jackson wanted to leave, he'd have to go through the big guy. Normally, the child would have argued, especially for fear of losing control, but this guy was beyond any sort of peppiness, he was straight up bonkers for the violent and loud, and wouldn't take no for an answer. There was also the fact that, deep down, despite the situation brought on earlier that day, the boy wanted to know if he could take an alumni of UA one-on-one.

"If it means you'll leave me alone..." Jackson took off the UA sweater and greeted the cold breeze of the night with a stern expression, dumping it off to the side so as to prevent ripping right through it. "Then lets dance."

Although the man was clearly keen to start at maximum throttle, Jackson was more up for taking it slow for a change, worry letting up concentration could lead to another blackout.

Jumping to the side first, the boy forced his blackened fist into the top side of the barrel of fire, denting it and sending out an annoying ringing sound that brought the forest to life as nearby animals hollered and scuttled about in absolute terror and anguish. From there, Jackson dove towards the cabin-dweller and aimed a punch at his gut, choosing not to transform his limbs for now as he knew not if Riki could survive such a force, nor how long he could hold it in his semi-worn out state.

It looks like Riki had finally struck a chord with Jackson. Badmouthing people is the easiest way to get them riled up, and poking them at their emotional weaknesses even more so. "Dance? Bah! you may as well say that you are gonna be dodging all the way back home!" If the boy thought that he could just brute force his way through him, he was sorely mista...!

A sudden gong of metal filled the air, as Riki was surprisingly forced to shut his mouth to block his ears for a moment. "What the hell?!"

Jacksons attack indeed Dented the barrel enough to make a loud hollow sound in the immediate area. Some birds flew upwards from the trees, disturbed from their slumber... However, the barrel was still filled with brightly burning trash, as Jackson would feel the after effect of such a reckless action of touching the heated metal. Riki however, realizing what he had done, seemed to smile at the sight. "Heh, clever! Didn`t know we had another arm-soaker!" At this point Riki realized that he couldn`t hear a word he himself said... Well, guess he needed to just shout louder!

The boy was immediately coming for him. Pfft, truly a masterwork in bravery. But he wasn`t black at all! "YOU UNDERESTIMATING ME BOY!?" He wanted the boy to hear this, as he gripped the Jacksons fist coming towards him with ease and pulled him closer. "LET`S SEE HOW FAST YOUR REFLEXES ARE!"

In what could only be called a pretty monstrous maneuver, Riki headbutted Jackson to get him a bit farther away from him, and spread his arms out wide. "YOU GUYS BEEN THOUGHT ANY SPECIAL MOVES YET?! CAUSE HERE IS ONE OF MINE!" His arms suddenly combusted into what could only be called flaming wings, as he swung them towards Jackson like trying to grasp him into a burning hug.

FLAMBEED CHICKEN WING!!!

If Jackson was quick enough to recover from the headbutt he received, he could see Riki keeping his flames from touching the ground by a surprisingly wide margin. "REACT OR GET BURNED!" This guy certainly wasn`t messing around.

The initial attack, while clearly giving the boy an opening, had hurt his hand more than expected, distracting him for a moment. In that moment, Riki managed to grab the young teen's fist mid-punch with ease, showing a clear gap in strength as they were at that moment. Jackson tugged away best he could but the taller of the two pulled him in close regardless, readying a head-butt by the looks of it. The man was yelling something, as always, but the boy couldn't make him out. He was too caught up in the events of that day, seeing Diego in front of him, a snap of him putting bone on his forehead as his demonic half readied a cut to the jugular.

"Come on Jackie, just let it hit and sleep for a bit. I don't feel the pain, the worry. I can crack this guy's head open and then you can finally have your parents disown like you've always wanted..." The risk, the taunting... it was too much. He couldn't falter now. The head-butt was coming in, and the burning arm not too far behind. With that kind of damage he'd definitely lose consciousness... he'd lost control...

"NO!" With a fiery yell, Jackson transformed his arms, bringing the right fist in to crush the woodsman's right shoulder and his left to crack some ribs, all in the hopes of holding back the attack on his cranium.

A sudden "NO!" Caught Riki off-guard. "What?! You don`t wanna dodge!? Well, be my guest then!" A wide smile cracked on his face. Just like him to be fair! But taking how Rikis quirk allowed him way more lee way in actually taking the hits he wanted this was a pretty dumb plan to try and stop his speci...

A sudden hit on his shoulder. A sudden PAINFUL hit on his shoulder! He almost felt like the attack wanted him to do cartwheels off to the forest, as his flaming arms scraped the ground, setting the grass ablaze... heh, the boy sure had guts if he wanted to. However, seeing another blow coming towards his gut, Riki smirked. Maybe he should TRUST the blow! He wasn`t one to shy away from making himself look silly!

Suddenly his flaming hands extinguished themselves, as he took a roll around Jackson in propably the silliest cartwheels he had ever seen. His bit bulky face was flapping in the air, as his decently bulky body followed. "KEHEHE! You got power, kid! I can appreciate that!" He flipped himself over behind him. "But there is a small difference between charging into a wall fists blazing..."

His face exploded again into a giant mask of Flaming goodness. "AND FRYING A CHICKEN IN AN OVEN!" He kneeled... And tackled towards the boy head on... Literally! This would definitely leave a mark! A burning mark of his face plastered upon him!
