Hiroko's heart pounded like a jackhammer as she sprinted towards the barn, making sure the elderly couple was close behind. She knew full well that she currently had her back turned to at least 2 armed villains. and that knowledge had her feeling fear unlike she'd ever felt before. All she could do was focus on her objective: Get to the barn. Keep the old couple safe. She threw another glance back, intending to check on Tork, but instead spotting something that only added to the adrenalin-fueled panic that she was experiencing. Pork Chop and Hawke were headed after Hiroko and the couple. 'Oh shit!' Hiroko had to force herself not to slow down as her already scrambled mind tried to decide on a course of action. She knew she couldn't keep running forever. And although she figured she might be able to outpace the hulking pigman, she couldn't say the same for the elderly farmer and his wife. Her original plan was flight. But now that had been ruled out, so all that was left was to fight. They had to get to the barn, that much was still evident. If Hiroko was going to be engaging these two foes, or rather, distracting them, she was going to do it on her own terms. She wasn't going to let herself or the farmers be pushed around by them and their weapons. Wrenching her eyes away from Hawke and Pork Chop, the black-haired girl forced herself to stare straight ahead, towards the barn. They were almost there, so Hiroko canceled out her Helping Hands, deciding to conserve energy. Energy she'd need if she wanted to stand a chance against these overgrown barnyard animals. "Get inside, hurry!" Hiroko would yell to the elderly couple as she and her clones quickly pulled the barn doors open. After she was sure the older pair was inside, Hiroko and her clones would enter as well, closing it behind them to hopefully buy a few more precious seconds. Once inside, Hiroko's eyes darted around the place, looking for something, anything she could use for a plan. Hay, stalls, a second story... With her mind barely keeping up with everything, all she could do was come up with a base but effective strategy. Something only possible with multiple people, or a quirk like hers. Striking simultaneously from multiple angles. "Hide in one of the stalls!" Hiroko would suddenly say to the old pair, trying not to yell too loudly. "And... R-Run, when I say to..." With the oncoming threat no longer visible, yet undoubtedly present, Hiroko felt very uneasy. Nonetheless, she carried on with her next order. She looked to her clones and gestured to the hay, resulting in a unison nod by the 4 of them. Following the order, they all scurried into various piles of hay around, trying to hide or at least obscure themselves. Hiroko herself began making her way to the second story, difficult as that was with how badly she was trembling with panic. She could feel it very strongly now, the calm before the storm. Her staccato heartbeat and quickened breathing made her fear and anxiety abundantly clear. Finding herself at the second story looking down, she took a deep breath, trying her best to focus. And yet, terror still gripped her. Could she really face off against these foes? It was around then that Hiroko heard an explosion from outside. Initially surprised, she quickly realized it must be from Tork's fight with the Rancid Rooster. It was worrying, but Hiroko had faith in him. He was clearly trying his hardest, putting his life on the line... So why was Hiroko so hesitant? She became angry at herself for still harboring that doubt. It was foolish of her, really. She already knew she couldn't run, that would mean abandoning the elderly couple. And she couldn't die either. Dying would mean abandoning her friends and family... Leaving her feelings for Miyu unresolved... And never getting the chance to reunite with Mariko... Therefore, there was only one option left. Hiroko clenched her fists, staring down at the bottom level and waiting for her moment. She knew what she had to do now, if she wanted to save these people. Scared and hesitant though she may be, this simple goal managed to suppress her fear, leaving her with 2 things in her mind. Fight, and win. Techniques LP

"Damn it..." Tork grimaced, letting out another sigh of steam as he gripped at his side. The skin was still tender from being cauterized, but at least he was no longer bleeding. There was little time to rest, however. The Rancid Rooster already pulled out another grenade, pulling the pin and tossing it in Tork's direction. There was much more time to react and move this time, so the delinquent saw this and dived out of the way, hitting the ground. The explosion's shrapnel missed him, and now it was time for his own attack. If the only thing he did was try to dodge these grenades, Tork knew that he'd get hit again eventually. No, he had to stay on the offensive as well. From his position on the ground, Tork focused on projecting his heat at a single target, that being the Rancid Rooster. The air between them refracted for a moment before suddenly releasing a loud bang as the Rancid Rooster was lit up in flames. Beginning to stand up, Tork began to slowly walk over to where the flames persisted, wanting to get the fire out and make sure the villain was knocked out. As Tork neared though, he could make out the silhouette of a curled up figure within the fire. It appeared they were covered in something, and then it hit Tork what had happened. Before he could say anything, the figure rushed toward him, a knife in hand as the Rancid Rooster swiped at him, the black cape draped over his shoulders. Tork projected a burst of steam from his chest, allowing him to move back and barely dodge the knife. "How did'ja get it up so fast?!" Tork couldn't help asking accusingly. To him, it looked like his technique had landed head-on, but apparently that tactical cape had saved him once again. It protected him from the grenade blast, and now Tork's flames...this thing was resilient. "Animals have heightened senses, IDIOT FLESHBAG! It's reinforced and fireproof, you can't touch me and make a tendie out of me, REEEEHEEHEEHEE!" The grating voice of this asshole was really getting on Tork's nerves, but if that cape really did protect him that much...then he'd just have to come up with something else. "I ain't gonna be beat by some screeching rooster and his blankie..." Tork sneered, letting go of his side and putting up a boxer's guard. "...I'm just gonna hafta keep blastin' that thing till it breaks." Tork proclaimed with a smirk and shrugged. "But Roostie said we don't gotta hurt em." A deep voice spoke slowly, whining to his companion. "I KNOW what he said, but plans change you big oaf. If we let them all go, then they'll find us for sure. No matter what we're gonna have to move, but we gotta get rid of the witnesses. You don't wanna become someone's mornin brekafast bacon, now do ya?" After a few moments of silence, he let out a resigned sigh. "No..." "Then help me catch em! They ran in here, just grab em and let's go." This whole conversation could be heard by those hiding in the barn. The elderly couple did as Hiroko had asked of them, going into one of the stalls and waiting for the command to make a break for it. It was at the end of the loud bickering that the doors to the barn were thrown open, the large pig man using his strength to easily do so. The other female rooster referred to as Hawke was beside him, then took a step forward and led the search. "Come out, come out...it'll be a lot easier. If ya don't, I'll just have to start shootin. Bang...bang bang!" She joked with an uproarious laugh, pointing her sidearm pistol into some of the haybails and pretending to shoot at them. Porkchop continued to stand at the entrance, nervously looking around the room. |

Hiding on her perch, Hiroko could hear the voices of Hawke and Porkchop coming closer. As they spoke, something Hiroko had wondered about became more clear. It seemed like the big pig wasn't all that keen on hurting the farmers, whereas Hawke was considerably less compassionate. The tomboy didn't want to hurt anyone unless it was necessary... And it seemed like Porkchop wasn't as violent as his compatriates. It didn't take much consideration for her to come to her decision. The Japanese girl didn't want to hurt anyone she didn't have to. The doors to the barn were swung open violently, causing Hiroko to freeze. The moment was approaching, but she couldn't feel that fear from before. After all the stressing before this vital moment, her emotions felt dulled, her mind focused on nothing more than the task at hand. At that moment, thing mattered more than saving the elderly couple. Hawke entered the room, trying to scare them out of hiding. She was, of course, armed. She was wielding a weapon that even the best of martial artists couldn't always deal with head on. But Hiroko wasn't facing the animal head on. The raven haired girl recalled a question she'd asked her dojo's Grandmaster many years ago. She'd asked, 'Is there any way to be certain you'll win a fight?'. She'd been young and inquisitive at the time, and thought the old man might have some secret technique or something. Instead, his answer was decidedly simple. If you want to guarantee victory, you just need sufficient preparation. And unbenownst to Hawke, Hiroko was prepared. The trap was set, and the barnyard sniper right where Hiroko wanted her. She clenched her fists. Breathed in, breathed out, and stood up before giving a shout. "Oi!" Battle! If Hawke looked to the origin of the yell, she'd say Hiroko on the second story, standing proud and looking down at the villain. And the moment the sniper turned her attention away from the hay around them, Hiroko's clones would strike. 2 would rush out and grab the X-form, using their enhanced strength and sturdy bodies to try and restrain the shooter, to isolate their weapon. The other 2 would move towards Porkchop, standing in his path and ready to try and intercept the big pig if it tried to move. Mostly, however, they would just try and urge him to stay where he was, without directly attacking. "NOW! RUN!" The raven haired girl would shout to the elderly couple, giving them the signal. Hiroko herself would take a step back, her eyes keen and focused on her target. After a big preparatory step, she'd take her leap of faith. Airborne for but a few moments, her body would be aiming straight for the hopefully restrained Hawke, Hiroko's knees pulled back until she was close enough. Then, she'd extend them both, her dropkick aimed right at Hawke's head. Though she somewhat small, being airborne for this strike meant all her body weight would be behind the attack. Should her attack be successful, Hiroko would then land past Hawke, staggering a bit from the impact. Her knees hurt, and her right ankle felt a bit jarred, but she didn't have time to whine about injuries. She had to make sure her opponent was finished. Regardless of if Hawke was standing or floored, Hiroko's good leg would raise up before quickly shooting out in side-kick, aimed at the X-form's solar plexus, to knock the wind out of her. Thinking her opponent was well and truly dealt with, Hiroko would turn to Porkchop with a pleading look. "I know you don't wanna do this! I don't wanna fight you either, alright!?" She'd say to him, her words genuine. She wasn't sure if it was enough, though, so stood at the ready to combat the big oaf if she needed to. Techniques LP |

Barely dodging each swing, Tork bobbed his head underneath the knife, then moved his body to the side. He was moving back step by step, staying on the defensive while the Rancid Rooster swung wildly. Despite his tactical gear and use of such weapons, it was now obvious to Tork that he didn't truly have any actual military training. If that were the case, his strikes would be much more precise and Tork likely would be sliced up a good amount. All of the damage the delinquent had sustained thus far were from the explosives the rooster utilized, but any idiot could wield a grenade. It did make him question how he actually got all this gear in the first place, but that was something that could be answered after he survived this encounter. He already had a plan, but it was going to take a lot out of him. "FLASH FIRE!" Taking a big jump backwards, Tork pointed toward the Rancid Rooster and once again unleashed one of his most devastating attacks. The rooster erupted into flames, but once again, a shadowed figure was seen within the fire. Donning the cape still, the Rancid Rooster laughed and threw the cape back over his shoulder, blowing away some of the flames. "REEHEEHEE, IDIOT, try to cook me as much as you like, but it'll never work!" The villain laughed, grinning uncomfortably as teeth were revealed to be underneath that beak of his. "I told ya I don't give a shit! I said I'm gonna break that thing and that's what I'm gonna do!" Tork retorted with a glower, steam beginning to rise from his mouth as he used more and more of his energy. He was going to need to end it soon, or else he really was going to run out of steam. Using a technique like that twice took a lot out of him, and it didn't help that they had absolutely no effect on the villain thanks to that resistant cape. While seemingly useless, those previous attacks were a necessary lead up to this moment. "Time'ta tear right through it! FLASH FIRE!" Roaring out the familiar technique name and pointing at him once again, the Rancid Rooster reacted by throwing the cape over himself and laughing giddily. ...Except after a moment, there was no fire. Instead, he only heard the sound of rushing footsteps. Confused, the Rancid Rooster lowered the cape to see what was happening, only to be mortified as Tork was directly in front of him with a fist cocked back. "WHO'S THE IDIOT NOW?!" A swift punch was delivered to the Rancid Rooster's face, empowered by a burst of steam released by Tork's elbow. As the punch connected, the fist also shot out a blast of steam, burning the Rancid Rooster and making him screech in pain. The onslaught was only beginning, since Tork used this momentum to weave his body and unleash punch after punch. After the first three, the Rancid Rooster attempted to jump back away from the boxing-inspired move...but he couldn't. Tork's right foot was stepping on part of the cape, and since the Rancid Rooster was still wrapped up in it, he was forced to take blow after blow. His head was knocked every which way as fists collided from both the right and left sides, until finally Tork released his foot on the cape and struck the Rancid Rooster with one final punch. This sent the terrorist flying back a few meters, landing in the grass with a resounding thump and leaving Tork to stand there breathing heavily. Steam billowed around him and began to dissipate, trying to cool down his body that was near overheating. Able to pull his attention elsewhere, Tork suddenly looked over to the barn with concern, worried for what had happened while he was dealing with his own fight. Noises in the distance opposite from the barn made the delinquent glance over there as well. He couldn't see them, but he could sure as hell hear their sirens echoing. The police were finally on their way. "Oh, I'm so glad you came out like a good girl! Now just come on down an-" Hawke was taunting Hiroko with a grin, waving around her pistol until she was cut off by the ambush. Two of the clones jumped out and grabbed at each of her arms, pulling them back. The pain of this caused Hawke to drop her pistol and restrained her from using her arms at all. Struggling against the clones, Hawke was both confused and pissed off. "H-hey, get the hell off of me! Porkchop, smash these bitches!" She called out for help, and despite his hesitance, the large pigman took a step forward. He couldn't go much further, however, as the two other clones blocked his path. At Hiroko's signal, both farmers made a break for it, running for the backdoor of the barn. Then came the leap, Hiroko's legs slamming into the top of Hawke's head with an audible cracking sound. The woman crumpled to the ground from the force of the kick, motionless. If that wasn't enough, a second kick was delivered to keep the villain winded. There was an 'oomph' noise and quiet groan of pain from Hawke, though she did not move. Now focusing her attention on Porkchop, the pigman listened to her plea and was visibly conflicted. "I...I...I don't wanna hurt nobody, but I also don't wanna get eaten...Rancid said they was gonna eat me, but...I love Ma and Pa..." Some tears began to flow down his cheeks as he stood there, debating aloud about what to do. "...P-Porkchop, you stupid fuck, grab her..." This came out as a wheeze as Hawke slowly stood up with her pistol drawn, though her body and aim were shaky. "Y-you know I don't like that name..." "I...don't...fucking...care. They were...gonna eat'cha anyways...so you're nothin'...but a Porkchop. Now. Grab. Her." Finally Hawke's aim was steadying as she leveled the pistol at the back of Hiroko's head. Suddenly, however, Hiroko was pushed aside as the pigman threw his weight forward and used his enlarged belly to knock the pistol out of Hawke's hand and slam her into the wall behind her. "M-MY NAME...IS WILBUR!" With Hawke completely knocked out now and the situation seemingly over, Wilbur dropped to the ground and whimpered, blubbering to himself. In the distance, Hiroko would be able to hear the sound of sirens. This almost meant that she didn't hear anymore explosions coming from outside in the field, meaning that Tork's confrontation with the Rancid Rooster was also at an end. Hiroko's focus was intense from the moment she'd heard Hawke and Porkchop approaching, her eyes set on the x-form and staying on them once she'd revealed herself. She didn't yield or hesitate, not even in the face of Hawke waving her firearm. Hiroko's clones struck, restraining the terrorist, pulling back her arms so she was forced to drop her gun. But seconds later, Hiroko achieved her primary goal - saving the elderly couple. She'd signaled for them to get the hell out, and they did just that, but Hiroko wasn't about to risk Hawke chasing after them. Her offensive was commenced, and the cracking sound as her feet found their mark told Hiroko all she needed to know about the effectiveness of her attack. Though she usually disliked causing others any sort of pain, the raven-haired girl couldn't deny some dark satisfaction that came with letting loose on this terrorist, who'd likely been involved with the taking of a number of lives. Her initial strike was more than powerful enough, but she wasn't going to leave it at that. Her merciless kick, aimed right at her opponents solar plexus, knocked the wind out of her, and with it, any will to continue fighting, or so Hiroko fought. With Hawke well and truly dealt with, she turned her attention to Porkchop, trying to settle things peacefully with him. The tomboy couldn't help but smile when Porkchop proved himself much more compassionate than his compatriates. But the moment she did, and began to relax a little, she felt a pang of pain at her abdomen. It seemed her injuries were catching up to her, her body only able to be pushed so far for so long, even with adrenaline fueling her. She staggered, her jarred ankle unable to support, and ended up leaning against a stable door for support. Perhaps leaping from a second story hadn't been the best idea. Her right hand was on her abdomen, which was covered in dry blood from wounds sustained from the earlier explosion. Then came the ringing in her ears, the stress of the damage to her body resulting in what would seemingly be a persistent complication, thanks to the incredibly loud noises she'd been exposed to. Stunned by the sudden pain, Hiroko didn't hear Hawke standing up again, and when she did notice the woman was still fighting, there wasn't anything she could do. She tried to step forward, but her body injured ankle meant she didn't get far. All Hiroko could do was put up a weak and weary guard, as her clones stepped in to defend against any attack. Both Hawke and Hiroko were battered and exhausted, but the tomboy wasn't sure if she could go another round. 'C'mon... Got this far, can't lose here...' Her simple thoughts kept her standing, kept her just focused enough. She realized that Hawke and Porkchop were still arguing, and it occurred to her she might be facing both of them. Nonetheless, with her clones to guard her, she stood ready to rush at Hawke, praying that she'd be quick enough to avoid getting shot. Though, as it turned out, she'd wouldn't end up having at worry about that at all. With a mighty charge Porkchop - or, rather, Wilbur - knocked Hiroko away from danger, and used his rotund form to send Hawke flying into a wall, knocking the sniper out. Hiroko breathed a sigh of relief, slumping against the wall. "Thanks... Wilbur..." She groaned, hoping to display her gratitude to the currently whimpering pig. She would've tried to comfort the big oaf, but she then noticed that the explosions from outside had ceased. That meant that Tork's battle was over, and a winner determined... Two of Hiroko's clones came over to her to support the girl, while the other two went over to Hawke, removing any other weaponry the animal had in its possession. As she made hobbled her way out of the barn, Hiroko also noticed sirens approaching, indicating police were about to be on the scene. The middle-schooler exited the barn with the help of her clones, immediately looking over in Tork's direction, to see steam rising off a figure. The figure of Tork Degracio, who'd bested the Rancid Rooster. Had she not been far too exhausted, Hiroko would've let out a cheer at the sight. Nonetheless, a blissful feeling of relief washed over her. She and Tork and survived, and the farmers saved. So even though it had been difficult, Hiroko couldn't help but feel oddly happy. She didn't fully recognize it at the time, but it felt really damn good to be a hero. Hiroko tried to wave to Tork, grab his attention, so she could relieve any worries he might've had about Hiroko's own fight. The police were getting closer too, so they should probably stick together when they had to give their stories. Then, maybe, they could finally go home and rest after this overly exciting day. Though, the thought of going home did remind Hiroko of something. 'In the end, it doesn't matter that I survived... Cause my parents are going to kill me when they find out about this...' |

Hearing footsteps in the grass, Tork turned his head to see Hiroko standing there. His mouth immediately turned up into an exhausted grin and the wobbling delinquent fell onto his butt, able to relax at least a little. They had both gotten out of this situation with some injuries, but they were victorious nonetheless. Tork groaned, leaning each of his arms against his knees. "Sorry fer gettin' ya mixed up in this crap Oko, but, uh...thanks. Dunno what I would'a done without back up." Tork told her earnestly with a slight smirk, although his tone was certainly still a serious one. This had been a life or death confrontation, not just for them, but for the elderly couple as well. Tork closed his eyes, just attempting to unwind and let the adrenaline wear off. He could still feel his heartbeat thumping like mad, but it was slowly cooling off. The delinquent was already prepared to get an earful from the police, so aside from their short conversation, Tork was going to enjoy the peaceful breeze and the quiet hissing of steam off of his skin. "I find a house half blown to smithereens, the Rancid Rooster, and you two just happened to find this place? Looks like vigilantism to me, and you know you're on thin ice DeGracio." Tork was indeed correct in his assumption about the police's reaction. Gavin had warned him of this, and even though he tried to do things more by the book, this thug just attracted trouble. "Hey, listen'ta me, a'ight? I only came here 'cause somethin' didn't seem right. Ask Oko here, we did some research at the station 'n found out some shit that pointed toward this bein' connected'ta the Rooster. The police already investigated this place 'n they didn't find nothin'. Didn't help that the farmers here were forced'ta keep mum 'cause they were hostages." Tork explained with animated hand gestures as he sat on the ground, pointing over in the distance where the elderly couple were taken aside to be questioned on their own. "I came with Kazama'ta ask the geezers 'bout anythin' that might help point'ta where the Rancid Rooster was hidin'. We backed off after I noticed multiple people inside with my shades, but then a sniper shot at us 'n Mr. Dimmest Bulb in Da Bunch decided'ta charge down the door. That set off an explosion, I shielded the kid from it, 'n then shit spiraled outta control from there." Tork sighed, some steam coming out of his mouth as his body started to heat up a bit. He was getting frustrated having to explain himself, but at the same time he didn't blame the guy for doing his job. "With your shades? Actually I don't care." The officer sighed as well and pinched his nose. "Hiroko was it? How did you get involved?" He questioned, returning back to the notepad in his hands and writing down a few more things. "No matter what we'll need the two of you to come down to the station for a bit while we sort all this out and get more official statements." The scene currently consisted of a smoldering house, Kazama being talked to and treated by the ambulance now that he was awake, and all three villains being taken into custody. Wilbur was actually still crying, with both the elderly couple trying to console him and telling the big guy that they would come visit. After taking it all in for a moment, the officer turned back to the pair he was currently questioning. "This is your first offense, so you don't have much to worry about." He started off by saying, pointing to Hiroko. "YOU, on the other hand, have a list of cases you've been a part of." Tork grunted in response and looked off to the side, prepared for whatever punishment he would surely get. "...That being said, you've done some good. We haven't forgotten about the Nakatori Hotel incident or the invasion at U.A. from last year. Your Hero Licensing Exam is coming up soon, isn't it?" Tork suddenly looked up at the man, surprised, and nodded. "I don't care if you have to sit in your room and twiddle your damn thumbs. If your story checks out and you really weren't looking for trouble, then you won't be charged with anything. If I even see you near another crime scene though, I'm hauling you in myself, you understand me?" Tork nodded vigorously, then reached underneath his shades and wiped at his eyes with the sleeve of his right sleeve. As much of a hardass as Tork tried to be, he was an emotional guy. He was actually terrified that he might go to jail, or that they would rip his chance at being a hero away from him. "...Thanks." "Don't thank me, thank them." The cop pointed to the elderly couple who were now being question by a different police officer. "They wanted to know the names of the heroes who saved them. Now get in the car." In the back of the police car, Tork sat beside Hiroko, stretching his arm over the back of their seats and staring out the window. After a moment of silence, he glanced over at her. "...You noticed it too, right, based on how they were talkin'? They weren't humans. The rooster and chicken were probably livestock of theirs, while the pig was their pet." Tork looked back at the window and sighed, which inadvertently caused it to start fogging up. "I'm glad we took down those bastards, but...it ain't over yet, I don't think." |

Much to Hiroko's surprise, the first thing Tork did when he noticed they'd both made it out alive was apologize for getting Hiroko mixed up in everything. The girl just shook her head, smiling softly at the gratitude he also displayed. "You don't have to apologize or thank me... This is what I wanted to do... I'd make the same decision anytime..." She stated confidently, taking a seat on the ground herself, sitting cross-legged and trying to compose her thoughts. "I just can't do nothing when someone might need help... I'm dumb like that." She'd continue with a half-smirk. As detrimental as this aspect of her personality often was... She wouldn't dream of changing it. "And I wouldn't have survived without you either... So, thanks, for being pretty much as incredible as you always seemed..." Hiroko would conclude quietly, smiling softly. They'd let her down in the past, her Heroes. But Tork, he had proven to be everything Hiroko had thought him to be. The girl closed her eyes as she sat, breathing deeply as she tried to bring some semblance of balance back to her body. She couldn't help but muse that this location was rather peaceful, ideal for meditation and focus. When it wasn't overrun by heavily-armed barnyard animals, that is. Being questioned by the police was about as stressful as Hiroko had expected it to be. She'd never really been the kind to get into trouble, and when she did it was never without good reason (barring a particular incident in her first year of Junior High). So the highly accusatory nature of this particular police officer, especially in regards to Tork, was pretty confronting. Fortunately, the older boy was more than capable of standing up to the officer, intent on showing he and Hiroko had both acted within what was necessary. Eventually, the cop turned his attention to Hiroko, though he didn't quite as interested as he was with Tork thanks to his previous history. Asking what Hiroko had been doing there, she tried to explain as politely as she could. "Well sir, like Tork said I helped do some research on the Rancid Rooster... He told me he was investigating it today so I kinda tagged along even though he didn't want me to. I didn't get here until about the time of the explosion..." She'd explain sheepishly, only for the officer to elaborate that they'd have to give statements at the station regardless of what they said then. Hiroko looked around at the scene, at the damage wrought. Kazama, the Tork's initial partner in this investigation, seemed more damaged than either of Hiroko or Tork thanks to his dim-witted actions. The three villains were all being taken into custody, and while Hiroko was happy to see violent and malevolent villains put away, she also couldn't help but feel a bit sad that Wilbur was going with them. He wasn't like them, he'd just been manipulated. At least, that's what Hiroko thought. The cop brought Hiroko's attention back to him, so he could scold them both one more time and make even more clear how much more trouble Tork could be in. Hiroko only gave a quick frantic nod when the cop said she didn't have much to worry about, only to turn to the older boy and say that he had a fair amount to worry about, due to past issues. Events such as the invasion of U.A. that Hiroko had heard about were brought up. Nonetheless, the police officer was rather lenient in his punishment, making it clear that as long as they hadn't been looking for trouble, they wouldn't be charged. "Th-Thank you..." Hiroko said quietly right after Tork. Even though she wasn't in too much trouble herself, she was very grateful that Tork, who'd only been acting in the interests of Tatooin, wouldn't be punished for his heroism. The officer was quick to point out that it was really the elderly couple, who'd been safely retrieved, that they owed thanks to. Hiroko looked over to them, and a soft but incredibly genuine smile formed on her face. Even the officer's stern demand that they get in the car didn't diminish that happiness she felt. Being a Hero, helping people... It felt really damn good. While they were in the car, Tork took the opportunity to bring something up with Hiroko. Namely, that there was clearly something more going on here, considering the villains they'd faced. It was plain to see that these terrorists weren't X-forms, an easy conclusion given all they'd said during the encounter. Instead, they seemed to be something of the opposite... Not humans with animalistic properties, but animals somehow granted human-like properties. Hiroko nodded along as Tork brought this up, agreeing with him completely. "Yeah, there's definitely something else going on here... I dont really know what, though..." Tork uttered that it wasn't over, and Hiroko once again agreed. They may have stopped the Rancid Rooster and his lackeys, but there was clearly some larger force at play... One that had made them human-like, perhaps also the one that had provided them with all their military equipment. And perhaps, a force that Hiroko and Tork would be facing again one day thanks to their efforts here... The girl prayed that day would not come soon, because for the time being she needed to get stronger, so that when the day did come, she could stand up to whatever threat revealed itself. "Even if it isn't over... Whatever comes next, I'll be ready for it. I promise." [END] Edited by Sporky, Jul 11 2017, 07:34 AM.

Comments: Well jeez.... reading this thread I actually teared up a little. The emotion from this thread is really what made ie amazing in my opinion, the fear from both Tork and Hiroko at the potential lethality of these criminals, the regret and sadness coming from the animals (Poor Wilbur), and even the little bit at the end about Tork potentially being brought in (WHY YOU ALWAYS INVOLVED MAN!?) just made it so fun and fulfilling to read. Obviously, you've hinted that there's more at play here, animals don't just mutate into... humanoids that seek revenge. And to think that this somehow came from a meme we did... All the same! Enjoy the spoils that you've earned! |
