General Appearance: One could tell from a glance that Sher is, or at the very least was, a soldier. Always wearing a stony expression, carrying himself upright, and looking at everyone and everything with a stern and cautious glare. He can nonetheless draw some eyes too, though, as a result of his white hair and red eyes. He also has an innumerable number of scars, to the point where no individual mark stands out.
Clothing: If the rare occasion where he has to dress casually arises, Sher usually dons smart yet simple attire. He's capable of dressing up nicely, but doesn't make an attempt to stand out.

More often, though, he needs to dress for combat. In such cases his clothing varies depending on the terrain on which he's fighting.
Personality: Type: ESTJ - The Executive
Sher can be a bit of a mystery to those fortunate enough to meet him off the battlefield. He can hold his own in a conversation, and can actually be somewhat friendly. But there's always a sense of caution and coldness in his expression, though never to the point of paranoia. Like many unfortunate soldiers, his mind never truly leaves the battlefield.

As such, he has quite a difficulty expressing emotions or getting on friendly terms with those he doesn't work with. Which doesn't really bother him, as he fully realizes how impractical it would be for anyone to get attached to him. After all, Sher isn't just a soldier, he's a man who's dedicated his life to war.

And in the era of Heroes, the definition of war has become much more broad. Specifically, Sher has accepted the idea that the conflict between Heroes and Villains is similar enough to 'war', and may be the source of employment for him and his brothers-in-arms. Though it remains to be seen which side he'll fight for.

As for why he and his comrades fight, their reasoning isn't one that many others would understand. Although it is also their form of employment, the fact that they can get paid for doing what they do is just a bonus. More than anything, Sher and those alongside him fight because it's all they've ever known. A regular life simply wouldn't work for them.

In spite of his career, he still has some fairly strong views on law and order. This translates not only to his sturdy sense of morality, but also the way he manages situations. Though Hellhound rarely does things by the book, they are always direct and precise in their actions. For all the madness or in their strategy, there is careful and practiced method. Sher also has a skill for managing people, so is very adept at directing them to follow these outlines and create an undoubted sense of order, in spite of whatever chaos is present.

Despite the difficulty he has with regular people, Sher is a bit more capable around those he works with and fights alongside. He has no problems building a sense of camaraderie among those who commands or assists, often helped by how reliable he is when given an order.

Overall, Sher Nuristani is a man of great conviction and integrity. Although he has difficulty living in the real world, on a battlefield he becomes a reliable and effective leader with a natural ability to manage and direct people, and to impose his own sense of order on any situation.

History:

History: Although the era of Heroes has brought about a great deal of peace to the world, many make the mistake of thinking that the war no longer exists in the way it used to. Sher Nuristani knows that just isn't the case.

Born in a small village in eastern Afghanistan, Sher has only fond and distant memories of his early life. Those first few years were really the only time he knew peace, even if it wasn't really the case. There was no shortage of insurgent groups in the area, after all. Though, they were rarely well equipped.

At least, that seemed to be the case. Sher's village was unfortunate enough to find out that wasn't the case. Destruction, fire, chaos and death are all that Sher remembers about the attack that killed his family. Although he was lucky to survive, it certainly didn't feel that way. Especially not after he was captured and taken in by the group that performed the strike.

It was with that group that Sher was first taught how to fight. As he and many other children who were captured would soon learn, it was very harsh lesson. Sher was fortunate enough to be blessed with a natural intelligence that helped him survive his days with the group, but soon began to realize on simple fact. That he was almost certainly going to die fighting for a cause he didn't believe in.

Soon enough, that once terrifying thought turned to indifference. After seeing enough of war, Sher simply stopped caring about the possibility of life. Resigning himself to his fate, he lost hope, until one day it came back to him. In the form of the strongest enemy force he'd ever encountered.

Waking up one night to the sound of frantic yelling in Pashto, all Sher and the few remaining children could do was hide as the chaos unfolded around them. The number of foes was a fraction of the personnel the insurgent group had in the camp. And yet, the insurgents stood no chance. The enemy force's tactics were quick and deadly, sowing chaos all around the battlefield, and leaving no survivors. Well, almost no survivors.

When Sher found himself blinded by a flashlight as he hid, he figured his days were numbered, figured he wouldn't even hear the gunshot that killed him. However, all he heard was an expression of disbelief in a language that was, at the time, completely foreign to him. The next thing he saw was the patch on man's arm, depicting the head of a snarling canine. And above it, a single word. 'HELLHOUND'

Despite the fact that they didn't immediately kill him, Sher didn't go without a fight. He didn't know what was going on, and was under the impression that he was just going to be taken to fight under another group. Once he was actually captured, which took a surprising number of men, things were put into perspective.

'Hellhound' was the name of a small private military company (or PMC) that was currently undergoing operations in the area. One such operation was taking over the camp that Sher had been stationed in. They hadn't expected the child soldiers though, so were unsure of what to do with them after they'd been captured.

Several escape attempts were made by Sher whilst that decision was being made. He'd injured quite a number of guards, before a Pashto interpreter finally arrived at the camp. The interpreter was able to explain the situation, although one thing confused Sher. He didn't understand what his captures were. This was the first time he'd encountered soldiers without a cause, without a nation. It confused him, but most of all, it intrigued him.

Fortunately, the interpreter wasn't the only one there. The head of the PMC was also present, and explained the group to Sher thoroughly. The boy was captivated by the man's speech. For the first time in his life, the idea of combat, of war enticed him. After what he'd been through, he already knew there was no going back to a normal life. Fortunately for him, he didn't have to. Much to the surprise of the rest of the troops, Sher was offered a place among Hellhound.

He accepted, of course, but didn't see combat for his first few years with the group. He was instead relied upon for other, menial tasks while he learnt the ropes. He was lucky enough to have two great teachers, though. First was the Pashto interpreter, who taught Iblis the languages he knows today. The young woman went by the callsign 'Rosetta', given her encyclopedic knowledge of languages across the world. His second teacher was the head of the PMC, a man called Titus. A legendary soldier who gave Sher the skills he'd need to survive.

After several years stuck in different camps, providing assistance and forming bonds with the other soldiers, Sher was finally allowed to go in to combat. To the surprise of all but his teachers, he was a highly effective combatant. Due to the fiery nature of his Quirk, the fear with which his enemies held him, and the already hellish nature of the group's name and symbols, he was given his own call-sign: 'Iblis', the only angel born of fire and created with free will.

Time passed, as it always does, and Iblis became more and more respected among his comrades. Working his way up from unit to unit, he was soon seen as one of the most respectable soldiers of Hellhound, alongside Titus and Rosetta. He'd also made a fair few friends and fans among the other mercenaries of Hellhound, the most notable of which being a young and easy-going German pilot who went by 'Falke'. By that point, he'd come to see them all as family. Despite the harshness of his life, he never felt like there was anything else he'd rather do than be a soldier.

Even if that meant having to face tragedy.

Sher had been on his way back to their primary base of operations - in a helicopter piloted by Falke - when the radio transmission came in. To put it simply, they were under attack. By a force that was many times stronger than them. Although, the most notable factor was the enemy force's affiliation, or lack thereof. There was nothing to identify them, much like Hellhound they didn't seem to belong to any one nation or group. Even now, Sher is unsure of exactly who they were. Not that it mattered.

It was a hopeless battle, but one Sher fought regardless. He and the crew of the helicopter came in hot, and actually managed to push back the enemy forces somewhat. That was, until they encountered the foe's strongest squad. Sher's squad was eliminated swiftly and violently by an array of powerful Quirks and weaponry. Sher put up a stronger fight, managing to cause some fairly serious burns on one of them, but stood no chance in the end. The last thing he remembered was a sharp pain in his right side.

And then, he was comatose for 1 and a half years.

There was only one person beside him when he woke up and regained his focus. Falke, who'd apparently dragged Sher back to the helicopter and escaped. Other than that, it was all bad news.

Their base was destroyed, no trace remaining. Vehicles, weapons, any and all assets were gone. Sher's body had undergone some extreme internal trauma, the cause of which was hard to identify. He was lucky to survive, but others weren't. There were very few survivors, and those that did make it through the attack wanted nothing to do with Hellhound afterwards. It was difficult to determine who had survived and who had died, although some casualties were certain.

Rosetta and Titus were both dead.

But not one word of that awful news was enough to deter Sher from doing what he wanted to do next. With Falke at his side, he made a simple decision: He would rebuild Hellhound, and continue to live on as a soldier. Because that's all he knew; there simply wasn't anywhere else for him to go.

It took some time, but eventually they managed to build up a small mercenary force. While they jobs they've taken since then have been small, mostly restricted to security work and recon operations, their range of employers has been much broader as a result of their desperation.

With time passing as it always does, Sher, Falke, and the new Hellhound continue on with their lives as soldiers. Fighting and dying each and every day, and yet with no desire to change. Because war is really all they've ever known.

Combat, Stats & Earnings:

Combat: Orthodox and effective, Sher doesn't mess around when it comes to combat. He uses what works best, and has little hesitation when it comes to taking the lives of others. This, of course, does not include any innocents or bystanders.

He's well-trained in CQC, but is equally as capable at range. His tactics are very rarely used solo, as he almost always has his squad by his side.
