Our world is one filled with Heroes and Villains, just like comic books and television shows and movies showed us hundreds of years ago. The impossible has become the norm for us. What is referred to as Year 0 is the day history reset and the day humanity began to evolve before everyone's eyes. The day the glowing boy was born among other wheels set in motion, but many do not know that the Glowing Boy was one of a pair of people, twins. He was twins with a girl who's moniker

From the point of the first quirk manifestation, every human being on earth began to and eventually evolved to the point of having what is called a 'Quirk' excluding a small, minute minority, and it is this entity that a lot of people end up using for their own version of 'super powers', to bring about this Golden Age of Heroes and Villains; this is where we find ourselves. Quirks permeate and fill all of our lives, and even those with small altercation to their genetic makeup use their Quirks in aspects of their day-to-day living. Eventually, those without quirks became less and less before dying out of existence.

After centuries of our new society being built upon and perfected, we have started to enter a new era: something that a lot of people are beginning to call the Era of Change.

Whispers and shadows...

Various reports filled Japanese hospitals of children and teenagers entering hospitals with bizarre brands on their bodies that would not go away. Their colour, pitch black, would leak from the mark in shadowy waves, and cause their bodies to undergo a rapid increase in power... for a remarkable price.

They dissolved into madness...

As the epidemic was being curbed and those involved were paid for their troubles, everything went from strange, to far worse.

Whereas previously, those afflicted were youths who were out of the public eye, there came the day that teenagers were targeted who were students of the prestigious U.A. Hero Academy, located in Tatooin.

It began two years ago...

A hugely popular event, known as the Sports Festival, commenced and tested the current students' abilities, while simultaneously ushering in new potential students as well. Students of the school were removed after the first two rounds of the festival, and were taken on an excursion to combat rumours of a small disturbance in the city centre. A routine field test of the students' strength, and nothing more. The capable Hero and teacher at U.A. Academy, known as Bokken, accompanied them all on the journey.

But of course, nothing ever truly went to plan.

Devastation and disgrace...

The rumours and alert given out that a Villain was causing a ruckus in Tatooin was a fabricated one; master-minded by a mysterious masculine woman, by the name of Serena. She boasted of having infiltrated U.A. Academy's systems, and put out a false alert to draw the students to her, and by extension, something she referred to only as;

'Him'.

Serena reveals her intentions and immediately attempts to kill the students out in the open. Bokken intercepts her and demands for the students to run, but they ignore all orders and fight alongside him.

Clouds darken the skies above, and shadow tendrils emerge from the brand found on one of the top students' arms; a student by the name of Robin. He flees the scene before the brand can take over, and shuns its power and the presence of whoever gave him the mark.

A mysterious boy appears from the shadows, with words as ominous as the clouds currently surrounding the city centre.

"All will fall into darkness in the end. There is nothing more, and nothing less. You were foolish to oppose me, Serena. And today is the day... you draw your last breath."

The boy who appears from shadow taunts Serena, to whom he has an obvious relationship with. The two bicker, and he calls her foolish for even attempting the coup she had planned under the orders of one referred to only as 'II'; 'Two'. She calls him by the name of Yamato, and tells him to leave her or she will have to kill him too.

She finishes her fight with Bokken, effectively slaying the Pro Hero in one swipe. And, following this, comes a betrayal. Yamato strikes her down in the same breath as he relents to allow her what she wishes, and tells her that her contract was officially terminated.

In the fallout of the attacks and sheer power displayed in this scene, a student of U.A. Academy perishes; one named Ikkuge. Robin vanishes. Zero, another student on the scene, disappears. The whole city is in uproar as they find out that Bokken has died, but it is hidden from them that the other students are no longer present. Only those present on that day know what happened, and they have held their silence out of not only confusion, but pure, unadulterated fear.

Negligence in the faculty forces U.A. to dismiss a lot of its staff, in an attempt to weasel out the corruption that apparently allowed this mysterious organisation access to their systems and the entirety of their campus.

Aftermath and expectations...

Following the appointment of new staff at U.A., there is a huge investigation launched into the people referred to by Serena before she perished. With nothing found, U.A. and the police force had to simply assume that the strange organisation had dissolved following their colossal failure.

The new school year goes forward without incident, and U.A. gains their previously spotless reputation once more.

However, the following year would bring light to an even more dangerous force to be reckoned with...

Halloween: The night of omens...

With the conclusion of another school year, U.A. holds their entrance examinations and usher in a whole new class of potential Heroes. They join a hopeful faculty, and one that has successfully hid all previous issues that the school has encountered. Unfortunately, not everything was as it seemed, and things soon deteriorated.

A Halloween event, organised by the staff for the students to enjoy themselves on school grounds, was arranged and went underway. A Test of Courage was the premise; something that all of the students were on-board with in some form. Each floor of the dormitories was transformed to scare the others, and everybody was enjoying a great deal of merriment in light of these celebrations.

Out of nowhere, each floor was disconnected from the others and holed up in their own nightmare.

Villains entered the dormitory through means that nobody could fathom, and before they knew it, the students were in a fight for their lives. They had to protect one another, while simultaneously trying to contact the staff, and fight off trained, powerful Villains all at the same time. For a lot of these teenagers, this was the first experience of danger they had ever been thrown into.

Baptisms of fire were commonplace in the world of Heroism. But surely not in a safe-haven of a school, where they should be protected and shielded until their time came.

The students proved their mettle against the invaders and successfully held out until help could arrive, or neutralised the problem on their own. The dormitory building was almost destroyed in the process, but no loss of life was suffered.

U.A. Academy had a lot of explaining to do. A lot of the staff on duty that night had simultaneously been ambushed and attacked by Villains of what they assume to be the same organisation, which prevented them being able to aid the students any sooner. That aside, how on earth had a whole plethora of dangerous Villains infiltrated the supposedly impregnable school without any issue?

At numerous press-conferences, the Principal apologised and put it down to their security systems having a definitive range on them. Somehow, somebody with a quirk that reached out of their range had transported these Villains onto the premises. He assured the general public, and spoke to the outraged parents about all of this, and had the security systems strengthened to detect and nullify quirks in a much larger radius.

But alas, U.A. had shown fault one too many times.

A lot of parents withdrew their children from the school, unable to move past this, alongside the disaster of two years prior. The school is put on lockdown; keeping all remaining students who lived on campus safe within the walls, and putting out various warnings on curfew for those who lived in the city.

Safety of the students was their number one priority, after all.

Lockdown finished after a month of further tightening security, but strict curfews remain in place for those who live on campus, and those off-campus. The dormitories have been fully repaired and all has returned to a sort of normality.

The Road to Recovery

Following the Halloween incident that received a lot of publicity and backlash in Japan especially, Jayden Yamada, the new Principal of U.A., began a campaign to restore the public's trust in the high school. After lockdown and further precautions, he opened the school up again while maintaining a higher level of security in the background, and encouraged members of the public to see the school in all its glory.

The second year students embarked on their internships and this was massively covered in the press and on the news as a positive step in the right direction for U.A. Mr. Yamada himself often held open interviews and press conferences for people to voice their concerns, and a new dialogue of trust was opened up to promote the school's renewed image and openness.

Everything settled back to normality once more, and every precaution was set in motion for a seamless Sports Festival for the first years in summer.

It was truly a spectacle to marvel at and behold. Mr. Yamada appeared personally at the event and brought a new lease of life to it, while showcasing the magnificent effects of their Heroics course for the whole world to see. All of the thrills and spills were televised throughout the globe, and Hero Offices were quick to start putting bids in for the students to serve an internship with them.

Surely, a testament to the enduring nature of U.A. and their drive to teach the next generation of Heroes. It set peoples' previous worries at rest, and the conclusion of the event which saw the world's Number One Hero, Lucy Z. Marvello, was a true fan favourite.

Hope was restored once more.

A Threat to the World as we Know it...

In this stabilisation of peace, with a world filled with Heroes and a fabulous justice system, everybody fell into complacency about their day-to-day lives and taking peace and prosperity for granted.

That was until everything changed overnight.

High-security prisons were broken into all but simultaneously across the world. Most notably in the United States, China and Japan, high-security prisons were broken into or out of. Details of the events are sketchy and difficult to pin down. Statements were released from all prisons, but no finger was pointed in any direction. Everything was resolved and brushed under a rug of dishonesty.

Something horrible had happened in each one of those prisons, something which WISH didn't want the populace to be aware of...

All around the world in the wake of these disasters, new Villainous groups or activities have risen as they become more unabashed for some reason or another. Every group was systematically shut down, but there is no hiding the cracks in the perfect facade that WISH tried their utmost to uphold...

And the cherry atop the baking cake of disaster, was the disappearance of Lucy Z. Marvello. Various statements have been issued about the woman's whereabouts, and that no panic should ensue. She was still here, still around, only not visible to the public eye.

Nevertheless, there is a clear vacuum of power where Lucy once stood at the top of the pedestal, and Heroes worldwide have had to step up and fill it to the best of their ability.

Lucy's Hero Office is continuously silenced, and hasn't been since they were interviewed on the day of Lucy's disappearance.

Just what is becoming of the world at large...?
