Height: 5' 8'' / 173cm Weight: 143 lbs / 64kg Hair: Black. Short and a bit messy. Eyes: Brown.

General Appearance: Hiroko is a slender yet remarkably well-toned young girl with short black hair and dark brown eyes. Although she is somewhat attractive, her boyish features make her more 'handsome' than 'pretty', at least with how she usually dresses. Also notable is the pair of scars on her abdomen, one extending from just above her navel to below her breast, and the other along her right side.
| Clothing: Hiroko usually likes to wear sporty and comfortable clothing, rarely wearing anything that stands out much.
| Personality: Type - ENFJ Maki Hiroko has an almost unyielding optimism. She firmly believes in the strength and altruism of heroes, and has an almost obsessive admiration for them. As such, she adopts many of the principles of heroism as parts of her own personality. She's altruistic, ambitious and accepting with a lively and energetic disposition. She's deeply empathetic, and will never shy away from an opportunity to help someone in need. Her interest in helping other people is genuine, although it can lead to excessive self-sacrifice or placing too much faith in others.
There are very few people who Hiroko won't try to befriend. She's very casual and approachable, aims to be a crowd-pleaser and is usually extraordinarily accepting of other people's beliefs and ideals, unless they put other people in harm's way. Her idealism can also deter and annoy more cynical and practical people, and whilst she does try and respect their differing opinion, she has a bad habit of taking it personally.
Hiroko's altruism and ambition are her greatest strengths, but also her greatest weaknesses. She often puts others before herself, even in competitive situations, which can conflict with her own ambitions. Furthermore, she places a lot of pressure on herself, and as a result can be emotionally sensitive when it comes to criticism and failure. She takes it all to heart, trying to fix problems that can't be fixed and blaming herself for things she isn't to blame for. She often worries if she is doing enough, or if she is doing the 'right' thing, and will sometimes go out of her way to ask for criticism and comment so she can improve herself. Her insecurity and distorted view of those she aspires to be like have left her with some very deep-seated self-esteem issues.
Fortunately for Hiroko, she has various hobbies she can use as stress relief. She's very active, and enjoys many different physical activities, her favorites being dancing, martial arts and running. She's also an amateur drummer, although it's not something she's terribly dedicated to. Additionally, she also collects a large amount of hero-related collectibles as a result of her intense interest in them.

History:
The Backstory Maki Hiroko wasn't always the charming young prospective hero she is today. No, she wasn't born this way, she was sculpted by an experience. Her path was set on the day she met her hero.
But her story actually begins before that. Naturally, the starting point is at her creation. Her father, Isamu, was a half-Chinese immigrant and student of small-time dojo. Her mother, Hotaru, was a talented singer and daughter of the head of the Maki Zaibatsu, a company that no longer exists in the present. She'd met Hiroko's father during a performance at a high-class restaurant. The two were married only a couple years after their meeting, and another year later they had a child, who was given the name 'Hiroko'.
It was expected from a young age that Hiroko would go on to inherit her father's dojo. Thanks to that, she's received a lot of training in a variety of martial arts. It would be incorrect to say that she hated being forced into this. As a matter of fact, she rather enjoyed it. This would be the catalyst that molded her into the tomboy she is today, as she found thrill and enjoyment in any and all physical activities. One facet of her personality that was ingrained in her from a young age was her love of helping people. Her father always taught her that to aid others without expecting reward was the noblest thing one could do in their life.
As she grew up more, Hiroko would find herself relatively carefree and optimistic, content with her generous and caring self. This would change, however, when she entered Junior High. Her family fell on tough times, and she began to become a victim of bullying at her school, oft exploited for her willingness to help. Over time, Hiroko found herself beaten down and shown the ugly side of life. She'd been so strong, fun-loving and free, and now there was this sense of dread and uncertainty she hadn't yet been acquainted with.
Over a few months, she would lose a lot of motivation and inspiration. At first, it was the bullying of her peers, but as time went on she simply started to doubt herself as a person. She doubted her ideals and beliefs, she doubted whether she could trust people, whether dedicating yourself to others was really the right thing to do. Simply put, she was lost. She needed a hero, and she got one.
It was a day like any other, with a particular twist. A hero and villain were battling it out on the streets, making a mess of the place as they did. Hiroko witnessed the event on her way to school, and joined the onlookers to spectate the fight. It wasn't like she had anything better to do. However, the professional hero that was kicking the villain's ass wasn't the hero that Hiroko was looking for. It wasn't until their conflict had debris tumbling onto the spectators that Hiroko found her hero. Whereas most people had been quick to get out of the way, Hiroko was still in her depressed state, and simply looked up us the rubble fell towards her. There was a sudden impact to her side, some mass had attached itself to her and dragged her out of the way it high speeds. The next thing Hiroko knew, she was looking up at a beautiful girl in a U.A. uniform asking if she was OK.
As Hiroko was initially confused and disoriented, the girl from U.A. - who's name was Mariko - helped her recover and stayed by her side as the medics looked her over. Even after that, Mariko offered to take Hiroko to a café to get something to drink. Although she was confused, Hiroko accepted. By this point, she'd already become quite captivated by the girl, and just wanted to spend as much time with her mysterious savior as she could.
Mariko's intentions, however, were a bit more serious. The first thing she asked Hiroko was why she didn't attempt to save herself from the debris. Although Hiroko struggled to answer her questions, Mariko interrogated her vigorously, seemingly furious with the idea that she'd throw away her life like that. Telling Mariko everything through a shroud of tears, Hiroko went through what had to be the most cathartic experience of her life. Despite all of Mariko's questions, Hiroko only had one question. A question about whether or not it was really OK to be a hero. If it was really OK to believe in others, and to be selfless for their sake, even if they only wanted to exploit you.
Mariko's answer was simple.
"Of course it is."
Neither of the girls attended school that day, but just continued to talk. Mariko encouraged Hiroko to open up more, to not be afraid of doubt. Hiroko took those words, and every word she heard from her hero from that day on, to heart. She'd found her idol, her hero, her inspiration, and from that day on Hiroko knew she wanted to be just like her. Her obsession with heroes, and with the mysterious U.A. student named Mariko, began.
The Hiroko that people see before them today is the Hiroko that was introduced to the world after she'd met Mariko. The emotional wounds she'd found during her depression healed slowly but surely. Her family recovered from their crisis, and Hiroko found herself making many more friends, the most notable of which being her closest friend Arata Koizumi, the intelligent and womanizing son of Japan's Vice Minister for Finance.
Hiroko kept in contact with Mariko as much as she could afterward, becoming quite obsessed with the future hero. They'd often talk over the phone or via text, occasionally meeting up by the local playground. Hiroko became utterly enamored with the older girl, though her feelings were never fully realized. Nonetheless, she enjoyed the time spent with her idol, and began to become intent on being just like her.
However, as Hiroko entered her third year in junior high - the same year that should've been Mariko's first year after graduating U.A. - the older girl suddenly and mysteriously disappeared. An event that shocked Hiroko, leaving her scared and confused without her guidance. She was fortunate to have friends that calmed her down, otherwise, she may well have run off searching for Mariko.
With junior high coming to an end, Hiroko only had one thing on her mind: Getting into U.A. and becoming a hero. She's desperate to follow in the footsteps of her own personal hero, and also hopes that this path may cause their fates to intertwine yet again.
Combat, Stats & Earnings:
Combat: Hiroko uses her experience and proficiency in martial arts to great effect in combat. This results in a balanced and versatile fighting style that blends a variety of martial arts, primarily Southern styles of Kung Fu. In addition, Hiroko has a higher sensitivity to the finer aspects of combat, such as distance and positioning, which she also uses to give herself an edge.
Hiroko uses her Quirk to great effect in combat, not only as a method of outnumbering and overwhelming opponents, but also to manipulate distance and positioning and support her allies. Always on the front lines, Hiroko uses her Quirk to maintain a constant presence on and awareness of the battlefield.

| Name | Cost | Description
| | Gaman | 2 EP | Ability: Hiroko has many trials on her journey toward Heroism, but has always found the strength to rise once again. In a recent experience in which she pushed through her own limits, Hiroko has come to realize that her perseverance has been derived from her unbreakable faith. Her beliefs have given her the strength to suffer through pain, injury, and exhaustion with patience and dignity. This unyielding will and discipline of hers, and how its been tested in various trials, has left Hiroko with an indomitable spirit and sturdy body, rivalling that of Daruma himself. Raises Stamina cap to A+.
| | Kenshō | 2 EP | Ability:After extensive focus inward during the training and evolving of her Quirk, Hiroko can now shift that focus outward, using her experiences in harnessing the energy that binds herself and her clones. Intense meditation and spiritual training has allowed her to link sensory information with her clones in the past, and allowed her manage and grasp her own limit to improve efficiency. After all her use of these abilities, Hiroko is now able to use the insight and understanding she's gained and utilized, honing her own senses and Accuracy to a point beyond normal limits, raising the cap to A+. Requirements: We Are Legion and Equilibrium Flow
| | We Are Legion | 2 EP | Ability:As Hiroko creates clones, her energy sustains them, creating a virtual link between them all. Through an extensive focus on that bond, Hiroko can now receive and transmit sensory information through her network of active clones, whether that be hearing, sight, or touch. As a result, any of Hiroko's clone-summoning techniques also provide a buff to Accuracy of the same rank as the technique used.
| | Gasshō | 4 EP | All is one, one is all
A conclusion that Hiroko has adopted after many trials, physical, mental and spiritual. A mantra inspired primarily by the growing connection Hiroko has to her Quirk, aided in no small part by her ability to focus on the bond between her and her clones. She has embraced nonduality, and the idea that she is of one mind with her clones. As a result of extensive use of and focus on this bond, Hiroko is now not only able to link her senses with her clones, but also her abilities, allowing her to share any enhancements to them with her clones through this bond of energy. That is, any buffs affecting Hiroko will now also affect her active clones. The buff a clone receives will be equal to the buff affecting Hiroko. However, if she has multiple clones active, the potency will be -1 stat grade weaker upon those clones.
Only applies to full-body summoned clones. Does not apply to partial clones.
Requirements: B-Rank Control, We Are Legion
|
| Quirk |
|---|
| Name | Tier | Description | Splitting Image
| Tier 2 (Originally Tier 3)
| description Ability: The user of this Quirk has the ability to shape and create clones of themselves out of solids they are touching, by shaping them into either full copies of the person or partial copies. As the user's control rank increases, they may also alter the size of these clones (though they must remain proportional to the user)
These clones are functionally independent and are mostly identical to the user, even in partial form, in spite of their material. Their physical capabilities are also similar to the user, however they maintain the physical properties of the material they are made from, which in turn affects their physical abilities. For example, a concrete clone would be stronger and more durable, but also slower and heavier.
Limitations:There must be enough of the material to create the clone. Whilst the user must not utilize all of the material, they need to use an equivalent volume of the material to the amount needed to form the clone(s) of that technique.
The clone(s) strength depends heavily upon the technique used to summon them. All of them are one rank lower in stats than the technique that is used to create them. (e.g. A D-Rank technique is used to make the allotted five clones. All clones are E-Rank in stats across the board, and retain their inherent material strengths and weaknesses.)
Although the clones do share the goals and objectives of the Quirk's user, they also have rational fears based on their composition. For example, a wooden clone would be afraid of fire, or a concrete clone would be afraid of
There is a limit to the number of clones a person can have active. Starting at D-Rank, the user can have 5 clones active at once, going up by another 5 every time their control rank increases. Partial clones and clones with a different size count as using more/less clones, depending on their nature (number of clones should be stated in technique description). A technique can not produce more clones than the maximum at the equivalent control rank.
The user quirk also gets weaker as more clones are made. If one clones is made, at C rank, they are C rank, but as more are made at once, that power is divided among five separate clones.
Clones must be made of solid materials, i.e. concrete, wood, sand, metal, etc. They can not be made out of any other state of matter. The user must be touching said solid, although the Quirk also works through clothing. Clones can only be of the Quirk's user. When faced with their inherent weakness, the clone will dispel all but immediately. But fighting against their inherent strength/ resistance, they can withstand one attack more of that element.
When the user goes over the limit, they suffer a -3 stat grade debuff in Stamina for 2 posts.

United We Stand (B) T.P Cost: 15 Limit Cost: 20, 10 on subsequent posts Type: Summon, Utility, Offensive, Defensive Range: 25m Stats: +4 Accuracy (Self) Clones Used: 1-15
| Description: The most basic and vital activation of Hiroko's Quirk. She creates up to 15 clones out of any solid she is touching, up to 25 metres away from the point of contact, provided there is enough volume. The clones can perform a variety of tasks, whether it be offensive, defensive or supportive. These clones have C-rank stats, and have inherent strengths or weaknesses depending on the material used to create them.
Upon sustaining enough damage, a clone will break apart. Any destroyed clones can be re-created in a turn by spending the full cost of the technique (20 LP) instead of the upkeep cost. This is only for when some, not all, of the clones have been destroyed.
Uses between 1 and 15 clones that count towards the maximum. Clones will automatically fall apart if another technique is used that would exceed the clone limit.
Due to the 'We Are Legion' Enhancement, Hiroko can focus to recieve/transmit sensory information through her network of clones, providing a boost to accuracy whilst this technique is active
| Helping Hands (B) T.P Cost: 15 Limit Cost: 20, 10 on subsequent posts Type: Supportive, Buff, Partial-Summon Range: 12m AoE Stats: +3 Speed (2-3 Targets) Clones Used: 2
| Description: By only partially creating clones, Hiroko molds a surface she is touching so that numerous arms appear to come out of it - whether it be the ground or wall as footholds that also aid the movement of herself or a number of allies in an area by pushing/pulling them around, increasing their speed and maneuverability and making it easier to perform more acrobatic feats. Hiroko can now also greatly alter the size of these arms, allowing her and her allies the ability to traverse the affected area with great use through a variety of moves. As her skill with this particular technique has advanced even further, these cloned hands are now capable of being summoned interacting with the environment within the AoE however the user wishes, however this can only be used for supportive or supplementary effects, no binds/offensive/defensive moves etc.
As clones are only very partially created, the technique uses 2 'clones' toward the maximum.
| Divide and Conquer (B) T.P Cost: 15 Limit Cost: 20, 10 on subsequent posts Type: Offensive, Debuff, Summon Range: 25m Stats: -3 Speed (2-3 Targets) +4 Accuracy (user) Clones Used: 4
| Description: Now able to influence the size of the clones she creates, Hiroko molds a solid she is touching into a continuous swarm of mini-clones. These clones will, as the name suggests, swarm targets, climbing on to them to weigh them down, interfere with movement and repeatedly strike with tiny attacks, cumulative from all the cute little strikes of all the miniatures, that deal C-rank damage to those affected for the duration. Even if mini-clones are destroyed, more will come to take their place over as long as the technique is sustained.
Due to the 'We Are Legion' Enhancement, Hiroko can focus to recieve/transmit sensory information through her network of clones, providing a boost to accuracy whilst this technique is active
As the clone summoned by this technique are very small in comparison to regular sized clones, it only counts as using 4 clones to Hiroko's maximum.
It should be noted that the mini-clones are not quite as identical in shape as Hiroko's regular clones, their appearance being a bit decidedly... Chibi...
Mini Clone
| Reach of Heaven (B) T.P Cost: 15 Limit Cost: 20 Type: Offensive, Utility, Partial-Summon, Armor Range 25, 1-2 Targets Stats: N/a Clones Used 4
| Description: Using her ability to create partial clones and share tactile information, Hiroko molds a solid (most commonly a wall or floor) into a pair of large clones of one of her arms, and then has them mimic her movements to have them perform a sturdy block, capable of blocking B-rank damage, or powerful twin strikes to inflict B-rank damage. However, Hiroko can only perform one of these functions at once.
As the summoned clones are only partial, but still quite large, this technique counts as using 4 clones to Hiroko's maximum.
If Hiroko's Avatar of Senju Kannon is active, she can have it use this ability with its own arms rather than summoning more. In this case, it does not use extra clones, and the range is limited to the Avatar's reach. LP cost remains the same.
| Matryoshka Reinforcement (B) T.P Cost: 15 Limit Cost: 20 + 10 Upkeep Type: Defensive, Buff, Utility, Full Summon Range: 25m Stats: +4 Stamina, 1 Target Clones Used: 3
| Description: Using her enhanced ability to manipulate the creation of clones, Hiroko creates 4 hollow clones in layers like a Russian doll around herself or an ally that act as living, moving armor. This not only means they have no effect on maneuverability, but also allows the clones to move grant movement to otherwise injured or incapacitated persons when buffing them. Individual layers can be broken off to shield new targets, at the cost of the overall effect - each 'layer' provides +1 of the overall +4 buff. Due to their hollow and thus weaker nature, these clones cannot perform offensive moves while changing targets - their usage is strictly to defend allies and transport injured persons.
Although 4 clones are summoned, they are hollow so lack the usual mass, meaning this technique only uses 3 clones to Hiroko's maximum.
| Avatar of Senju Kannon (B) T.P Cost: 15 Limit Cost: 20 + 10 Upkeep Type Full Summon, AoE Range: 12m AoE Stats: +4 Accuracy (User) Clones Used: 10
| Description Hiroko begins praying and intensely focusing, drawing upon all of her energy before molding the ground near her into a single, massive clone, big enough to interact with anything in a 12m radius (but cannot move from its original position). Now drawing upon her faith more than ever, a great number of cloned arms are summoned on this clone, making it the spitting image of Kannon herself, and able to interact with multiple things simultaneously. The clone is summoned in a sitting position and does not move from its original point.
The clone, as it does not involve dividing Hiroko's energy at all, has an average of B-rank stats. Due to it's sheer size, it has B+ Power and Stamina, but B- Speed and Accuracy. The clone also has the inherent strengths and weaknesses of whatever material it is made from.
Due to the 'We Are Legion' Enhancement, Hiroko can focus to receive/transmit sensory information through her network of clones, providing a boost to accuracy whilst this technique is active.
Due to the sheer size of this technique, it counts as using 10 clones to Hiroko's maximum.
| 99th Hand (B) T.P Cost: 15 Limit Cost: 20 + 10 Upkeep Type Offensive, Material Breaker Range: 12m Cone AoE Stats: N/a Clones Used: 5
| Description Often after making a '99' symbol with her hands (optional), Hiroko unleashes a devastating technique in a cone in front of her. Hiroko summons up countless massive arms from the ground behind her, which arch up and over her to repeated palm strikes in the cone in front of her, crushing enemies with B-rank damage and breaking up to C-rank material. If she chooses, Hiroko can maintain this technique to continue to have these hands devastate the area in front of her.
Due to the sheer number of massive partial clones created, this technique counts as using 5 clones to Hiroko's maximum.
If Hiroko's Avatar of Senju Kannon is active, she can have it use this ability with its own arms rather than summoning more. In this case, it does not use extra clones, and the range is limited to the Avatar's reach. LP cost remains the same.
| Peace on Earth (B) T.P Cost: 15 Limit Cost: 20, 10 Upkeep Type: Full Summon Range: 25m Stats: +4 Accuracy (User) Clones Used: 5
| Description: Hiroko draws upon her faith and creates a clone in the shape of her patron Goddess' most wrathful manifestation, Bato Kannon. She summons a single large clone, 3 meters tall, up to 25 meters away from her. In making this clone, Hiroko uses her enhanced control over the making of her clones to summon partial clones upon it too, as well as making it somewhat hollow. Partial clones are used to give this clone 6 arms and 3 faces, just like Bato Kannon herself.
The clone, as it does not involve dividing Hiroko's energy at all, has an average of B-rank stats. Due to its hollow nature, the clone is lighter and agiler, giving it B+ Speed and Accuracy but B- Power and Stamina. The clone also has the inherent strengths and weaknesses of whatever material it is made from. Like her Avatar, this clone can use Hiroko's partial clone offensive techniques with its own limbs, but it is limited to melee range and the LP cost paid is still the same.
Due to the 'We Are Legion' Enhancement, Hiroko can focus to receive/transmit sensory information through her network of clones, providing a boost to accuracy whilst this technique is active.
Due to the size of this technique, it counts as using 5 clones to Hiroko's maximum.
| Fetter (C) T.P Cost: 10 Limit Cost: 15 + 8 Upkeep Type Root, Bind Range: 15m Stats: N/a Clones Used: 2
| Description A simple but effective technique, Hiroko manipulates a solid - often the wall or ground near an opponent - into 4 pairs of long clone arms, each pair wrapping around each other like chains and grab an enemy's limbs, binding and rooting them in place. The Technique can be broken out of by playing 1.5x the LP cost, or destroying the arm-chains (C-rank material).
Due to the number of regular but very partial clones created, this technique counts as using 2 clones to Hiroko's maximum.
| Calm Like Air (C) T.P Cost: 10 Limit Cost: 15, 8 Upkeep Type: Stance, Physical Buff Range: Self Stats: +3 Accuracy (User) Clones Used: N/a
| Description: Drawing upon her spiritual nature and years of martial training, Hiroko centers herself, taking a moment to steady her breathing and hone her senses, enhancing her focus on her surroundings as her body and mind calms. Can be maintained after initial post at half cost.
| Burst Like Fire (C) T.P Cost: 10 Limit Cost: 15, 8 Upkeep Type: Stance, Physical Buff Range: Self Stats: +3 Power (User) Clones Used: N/a
| Description: Hiroko utilizes her martial arts prowess, specifically, her aptitude for Southern Style Kung Fu, to enhance her own physical strength. Breathing deeply, she tenses her muscles and focuses intently on their control, utilising them to a greater extent to strike with more power and achieve greater feats through muscle control, enhancing her strength. Can be maintained after the initial post at half cost.

| Gadgets/Weapons |
|---|
Oath of Nio Description: A 195cm polearm akin to a halberd. An upgrade from Hiroko's original weapon, it now sports a pair of crescent blades and a black and gold dragon motif at the head and shaft of the weapon. Can be dismantled for portability, or to utilize the different sections independently. Price: 24100 (6500 Initial + 17600 Upgrade) Material Rank: B Effect Rank: B
Mass Production: As long as Hiroko is wielding this weapon, any clones she makes will have their own copies. Naturally, any copies will be composed of the same material as their respective clones. Each clone can only wield its own spear, and the spears only remain formed as long as the respective clones are, and if a clone should drop their weapon it will fade away. The size of the copies scales to the size of the clone wielding it. The copies, however, are always inferior the original, having a material grade of 1 ranking lower than the original weapon. (Copies have material rank C)
Necessary Wrath: By having either end of the halberd touch a surface, Hiroko can then mold that surface into a large number of arms which dismantle the weapon and serve to connect the individual pieces into one, large, spear/whip hybrid. With the arms moving to power each attack strikes using the weapon are treated as being +1 stat grade higher in speed and power, and increasing the range of the weapon to 8m. This effect costs 10 LP per turn to use. This effect can only be used with the original weapon, cannot be used with the copies.

| Practice of Fugen Description: A simple set of mala beads used for Buddhist prayer and meditation, designed to be worn around the neck or wrist, though oddly sturdy for what they are. These particular beads depict one of the many forms of Tara Bosatsu. Price: Courtesy of UA Material Rank: D Effect Rank: D - Energy Efficiency - The main effect of these beads is that they are capable of giving Hiroko a better awareness and control of her LP. This does not mean much, but the main result is Hiroko being able to more efficiently utilise her LP, thus increasing the maximum number of clones she can have at any rank by 1/5 of that ranks maximum.

| Burning Tire Description: A pitch-black rubber tire that is constantly aflame a different color which is atune to their owner. Yet knows it's own and doesn't burn them. The tire may be shot away or get punched, but it will always roll back to it's own. +1 Fire-based damage on all attacks.
Secret Gadget Technique: I'm Gonna Punch That Tire! - User rears back and punchs a good one into the tire, sending it at their target and increasing the fire-based damage by +2 for that technqiue/attack. (Usable once per SL)
(Can be used, again and again but never repaired) Price: N/A Material Rank: C-Rank Effect Rank: B

| Suits |
|---|
Protection of Byakusangai Description: Hiroko's 2nd Hero Suit. Expanding off her previous design, this suit embodies the spirit of a warrior monk, featuring loose, simple robes worn underneath sturdy metallic and leather pieces armor, including guantlets, shinguards, shoulder guards, and even protection for her torso in the form of a garment featuring a simple emblem at her core. Much like her last suit, the robes are made of modern polymers, enhancing their protective abilities beyond just normal cloth. Whilst wearing this suit Hiroko's clones will also appear to be, though they will not receive the suit's effects. Price: 11000 Material Rank: C Effect Rank: C - Mudutā - The armored sections of this armor are made of special material, highly malleable and capable of expanding in size greatly. As a result, Hiroko may use these reinforced, metallic sections of her armor for any of her techniques, molding them into what the technique requires with or without removing them. This must all be within reason, however. I.e., she could use the gauntlets to form a pair of cloned arms around her own, but not a whole army.
