Patch 1.3 It's that time again! Our third patch for the site is here! We have tweaked and changed quite a lot, so please read this whole thread to fully understand what has been edited for a greater experience as a RPer here. We understand that this will probably change quite a lot of your character profiles, and we ask for your patience while we transition between the old systems, and this updated one. For all techniques, enhancements and such that are affected, we will supply you with a grace period to edit them, put them up for approval, and get everything in order. Other Info We have reviewed the Quirk List and added some clarification for a lot of them, while also removing some defunct ones. Please read the full list here. Also, due to the Halloween Event having taken up a large chunk of time, we will be extending the site's IC year to the 31st of January, to allow for further RP and preparation for upcoming events. Classes will be starting in two weeks at the least, to give staff a breather and time to prepare. 2nd Year Students of U.A. will be undertaking their Internships instead of classes. We shall be working on expanding Events for the wider world outside of U.A., and aside from school activities (including the Sports Festival and Internships), there will be fewer events exclusively for U.A. students. School students may make their own missions and events for their peers, and are encouraged with new vigour to do so. Expect an Event for those not in the school to be a part of in the coming weeks. Previous Hotfixes This patch release will be a perfect time to familiarise yourselves with the Hotfixes released from the previous patch. They can be found here and here, and they relay the changes to Invasions, Reincarnations and the removal of Quirkless characters from our world. Enhancement Changes We have assessed numerous enhancement trees and tweaked them to provide fairer bonuses in regard to weapons and gadgets. They can be found below; Samurai 1 EP Abillity: Bladed techniques TP costs are reduced by 5, but the final cost can be no lower than 10 TP. Requires: Swordsman Ranger 1 EP Abillity: Your techniques used with guns are treated 1 letter grade higher in RANGE. +1 stat in accuracy when wielding a gun. Requires: Gunslinger We have made the decision to remove Masters of Control, due to it becoming obsolete. Please submit for an EP refund if this affects your character. To compensate, Elite will now cost 2EP, but requires the user to need at least an S- Stat Cap raiser already. Any custom enhancements which have been approved to do with reducing LP costs need to put forward for re-approval. LP reductions in Enhancements will no longer be allowed. We have opted to remove Gadget Expertise, and it will be replaced with the following; Jerry Rig 1 EP Ability: Using their knowledge of gadgets and how they function, the user can perform a patch-up job on their gadget in one post within a thread to fix it after it has been broken. This can only occur once per thread. Requires: Gadgeteer Technique Changes We saw a lot of flaws and unclarified aspects of our previous system, and as such, performed a large overhaul of numerous aspects of the rules page. Most notably are changes to Physical Techniques, and a general re-working to refresh the wording of numerous rules and regulations. That, and we clarified a previous grey area; how different types of techniques weigh up against one another in terms of strength. The flow chart of strength can be seen below; Physical, Quirk, Gadget and Gun Techniques > Basic Item Usage > Freeform Attacks We recommend reading the newly re-written rules page, found here. Gadget, Item and Weapon Changes While technically part of technique changes, these clarifications require a section all their own due to numerous semantics. We looked at various things that were never clarified all that well in the previous set of rules. Please find the updated version below pertaining to using your gadget, item or gun; Expand for more info This is fully updated exert from the Techniques page. Closing Comments If you have any concerns or questions in regards to this newest patch, please post these in Suggestions/ Questions, reply here, or message a staff member directly. Expect to see the systems updated in the following days, but please use all details/ edited EP/ etc from this page for now. We shall post a Shout notification when all the relevant pages have been updated. Thank you in advance, and we hope you enjoy the new Patch! |
