Amamiya Koya
 | Name: Amamiya Koya「天宮 江夜」 Age: 21 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Japanese Affiliation: Hero Killer
Fame: 0 Bounty:0
|
Height: 171cm Weight: 65kg Hair: Midnight black dark hair, sleek and sharp like a porcupine's burrow. Though cropped short at the back in typical sloped style, the fringe is rather long and juts out in spiked ends, a sheen like a raven's plume. Eyes: Dark, black eyes. Black as ink, hue of the skies on a night of a brewing storm. His irises however may shine silver while his Quirk is activated
|
General Appearance: Of average height and weight, Koya sports a sprinter's build, lean enough though not at the expense of power, and muscle enough though not at the expense of speed. Bearing a youthful, beatific aspect him, he can at times pass of as a young schoolboy despite being in the early twenties. Oft with a pleasant smile and mild natured disposition about him, he has a calming air of commonality about him which sets people at ease.
| Clothing: Oft wearing old-fashioned, or even traditional garb, due to his rural backgrounds. Favours thick clothing such as fur coats and other winter wear due to long periods outdoors camping in the snow- even if the wear doesn't fit the season. Often dons dull colors.
There is a lack of accessories about Koya, saved for his pierced ear adorned with a cross.
| Personality: Country-born and of humble roots, Koya is down-to-earth and practical, oft valuing the ends rather than the means to the solution. Whilst not a man attracted to money, he does understand fiscal value, and is selective about his expenses. Honest, though not at the cost of fallible guile, Koya keeps his wits about him inasmuch while pertaining to strict principles and morals.
His upkeep by parents both of educational instructorial nature has driven home a discipline to keep to a task till he succeeds, and take home mistakes learnt.
Ordinarily quiet, but not quite soft-spoken, Koya does not shy away from speaking when he has to. Indeed, he can proclaim bold and clear statements even under intimidation from a superior, though more than once his tendency to speak his mind has landed him in trouble that could have been spared had he learnt to be 'politically correct' or 'go with the flow'.
Of a very keen and individualistic mind, Koya impresses his ideals on others and the world around him, expecting them to hold themselves as he does them, and that has more than once come back to bite him in the back when expectations befall him.
A mask of practised amorality is often used when dealing with less than honourable incidents, and this distances himself from emotions that may impair clear thought or practicality during an operation- an important factor to have, though not the best trait for social interactions.

History:
History: Though originally born in Hong Kong, Koya followed his parents back to their native country of Japan, and was raised there since infancy.
A child of nature, Koya was raised in the islands of Nagasaki, spending much of his youth outdoors exploring the island, fishing in the sea, playing in the rivers and clambering amongst the fauna. The small village they lived in was a ferry ride and a half hour walk to the nearest shop, the sole supplier of at least three of the neighbouring villages. To get to a proper town was more than a couple hour's bus ride away. Nonetheless, Koya was never bored as a child, with nature as both plaything and teacher.
Koya was a single child. Both his parents were teachers, though his father was posted to a high school in Osaka, where he lived and worked most of the time, whilst his mother taught in a neighbourhood school. Having grown up with his mother and grandparents, he shares a close bond with his family.
The island's population was sparse; the people who lived there had mostly done so for as long as they could remember, and everyone knew each other by name. However, there was one man who had only arrived in recent years- a big, burly man in his sixties, slightly overweight with a beer tummy, and wore a patch over one blinded eye. He secluded himself in the far side of the island, never seeming to roam outside much apart from to resupply himself.
Though initially met with some gruff animoisity, Koya befriended the lonely old man through childish naivety and persistence. Their relationship somewhat relatble to a big bear adopting a stray bear cub as one of his own, the old man began to warm up to Koya, teaching him basic survival skills such as how to light a fire, how to catch fish with carved wooden spears, and how to gut the fish.
Life was simple but good for Koya till one day, in his thirteenth year. A group of mercenaries on the run from the law had raided their village, seeking shelter in their very homes while holding the residents captive to prevent them from alerting the authorities. Only Koya and the old man, who had taken him on one of their hunting trips, escaped their clutches, not being with the rest of the village at the time of the attack.
Together, with the old man taking the front, the pair took to the woods and planned ambushes on their captors. Under the cover of the woods and the familiarity of the terrain, they picked off the mercenaries one man at a time; however, in a final confrontation, the mercenaries gathered up a search party and scoured the woods for them, running them out of hiding. The old man's skirmish against the intruders allowed Koya to slip back to the village, free the captives and inform the authorities, driving the mercenaries away; however, by then, their victory had come at a cost of the old man's life, having gone down in a heated gunfight between the last of the mercenaries.
Though his family was traumatized but safe, Koya bore a deep grudge against the mercenaries that had taken the life of his friend. At a young age of seventeen, he joined a seperate rivalling mercenary group, equipped with skills he had prepared over the course of more than three years to become a competent hunter-tracker. As par of the course of eliminating their rivals, he and his comrades, including Takeda Rei, Gaston, Doitsu and Arai Ran, launched an attack upon the base of their rivalling mercenaries. Tracking down their mortally wounded ringleader, the same man responsible for the attack on the village years ago, Koya hunted the murderer down by following his blood trail and finished him off himself despite his already fatal wounds, finally granting him the vengeance he had sought for four years ago.
Growing cold and detached as he continued operating with the mercenaries, Koya became a person of cold logic and reasoning, killing what remained of emotions in his heart to become an exemplary soldier.
During their final mission, Koya's squad uncovered part of the Truth of Steel, and discovered a portion of its smithing process; however, they were ambushed, and due to the collapse of their plan, Koya destroyed his portion of the formula after memorizing it. For this, he was kidnapped and tortured by an obessed swordmaster, Yashirodai Akiyoshi, for years, and forced to aid him in smithing his sinister blades. Exposed to an addicting aerosol inhalant, Yashirodai addicted Koya to the substance, using his withdrawal as one of the form of torture imposed on him during his tenure.

Combat, Stats & Earnings:
Combat: Subscribing to a very traditional, uniform combat style, Amamiya Koya is proficient in engaging one in headfront, one-on-one, straightforward duels, his practised combat forms and and refined method of engagement often proving to be very effective, especially against less practised duelists. However, unorthodox play can definitely throw him off his game; be it the opponent resorting to dirty-handed tricks, or going up against more than one foe at a time.
Apart from martial arts, Koya is also a proficient hunter, able to track his quarry over long distances patiently. Versed in military tactics as well, he exhibits a patience often not found in more aggresive or bloodthirsty men, willing to bide his time well for a perfect chance to pounce on his enemies.
Though an adept fighter, Koya prefers to avoid direct combat if possible, prefering the much safer method of eliminating enemies from a distance, sometimes even without need of his own supervision. His knowledge of basic traps aids him in this aspect.
