The young gypsy-clothed boy let out an audible yelp of pain as Ran's grip tightened on her shoulder, flailing and trying to free himself instinctively as he protested, but to no avail. He was weak, weaker than Ran had thought, and barely had any more strength than an eight year old little girl. Ran frowned. He thought the kid would've possessed more muscle in him, if he was a gadgeteer- at least enough to use a hammer. At least Fergus had been big, burly and relatively strong. Perhaps he was one that focused more on the academical side rather than practicality? In that case, it worked out better for him; there would be better chance that the kid would be able to work through the formula.

Gale started blabbering on in English to Arai, and since they weren't movie one-liners, he understood none of it. Though, even if he had understood the language, he wouldn't have comprehended the bit of Apollo and her canine, either; of that, he was not associated or had anything to do with. Prism realised Arai's incomprehension from his blank face; fishing for his phone, he began tapping into it, assumedly utilizing the old interpreting application once more. He did spend a slightly longer duration typing than Ran would've thought needed, but that fact did not stir the young man's suspicions.

A mechanical voice started spitting out too-precise, machine-like Japanese, conveying Gale's warning of making this a public affair, and his wish for them to seperate from each other. The warning held weight in its truth. Arai Ran knew all too well the consequences of exposing himself in public, something he had actively sought to avoid for months and months, with witnesses no less. Prism was bad enough; now there was that girl, too. It'ld almost certainly put his mug on a wanted poster in town for a few days- and that'ld greatly hamper his movement in town.

But the former mercenary was desperate. There was an anxiety, a brittleness in him, that pushed him to do something he'd never even consider in the past. Ran was on a knife's edge; the formula was so close to being solved, his masterpiece completed, now or never... the very metal was being warmed in its molten forge back at the shack. This needed to happen now, or he'd literally lose everything. Like a drowning man thrown a rotten rope, he knew full well that the rope couldn't support his weight without breaking; but at the same time, he couldn't help but reach out to grasp the rope all the same.

"Frankly, m'dear, I don't give a damn." Ran ran off with another over-clichéd movie phrase, rummaging through his coat pockets. He produced a slip of paper and brandished it in Gale's face. It was part of the formulas that he had received from Gaston's lab- the part, with an incomplete flaw in its zero sum equation.

This time, Arai staved away from his movie quoting and rescinded back into proper Japanese speech. "The formula is broken. I need you to fix it." He didn't care whether the boy understood or not; turning around, he began dragging the boy away forcefully.

But not a few steps later, the girl that had been beside them all along stood in his way, making a stand. She screamed at him to release Gale in Japanese- oh, so someone did understand the language. Bit of a relief.- and begun to blow air into her arms, like someone inflating a life raft. As she did, her arms bulged and inflated, like a cartoon, as if they were rubber and air had actually entered her biceps. Ran smirked. So, that was her Quirk? He shook his head, believing them to be nothing but a mere facade.

"I won't hurt him. All I need is to borrow him for a few seconds. Now step aside, sugar, and let the big boys-"

An oversized, expanded anchor of a left arm slammed itself into Arai Ran's solar plexus, and he doubled back from the blow, eyes bulging and spittle spraying from the unexpected force he had been cheap-shotted with. Ran was almost bent entirely in two, barely on his two feet, which had instantaneously been turned into jello, and he let out intelligible choking, gurgling sounds as he tried to cope with the aftermath of the blow. The slip of paper had been knocked clean out of his hand; it floated off and landed in a corner of the alley. Ran's hold on Gale's shoulder loosened for a second; and if he seized the opportunity to struggle, he might be able to break free from his hold.

Clutching his stomach, Ran staggered back, a line of spittle still running down his chin. "What... the... holy... fuck..."

"Y-You don't!?" Gale stammered. He didn't care that he could possibly be arrested or that someone might yell help or something!? The people that didn't have anything to lose were honestly the scariest type of people to deal with. Before he could even type another set of answers Arai had put a piece of paper in his eyes. "Er... what?" His eyes only scanned it for a few seconds before he felt himself getting dragged across the ground.

Shit... shit what did he say!? Was he going to kill him!? Was he going to get dragged to the dark corners of the alley and then stabbed to death because he simply didn't laugh at his movie quote? "Wait! Wait! We can talk about this! You don't have to drag me through the ground!" His voice became frantic and clearly indicated to both parties that he was starting to get panicked from the situation. Even if he wasn't in any real danger, he didn't know any better and flailed his arms and legs in a futile attempt to get himself free from Arai's grip.

His cheek burned, his stress rising as the lump in his throat felt more like a block of cement that made it hard to breath. "HELP! HELP!" He cried in hopes that someone, anyone would come by! A hero, police, a bystander! Hell, he'd take a rabid dog if it meant that he wouldn't be getting dragged off to his death. His face had become stained with tears as he weakly clawed at Arai's hand with as much strength as the young man could muster.

Then he had stopped, he hadn't known what was going on but he had stopped getting dragged and that was enough to make the man take a moment to see what was going on. It was hard to make out, with his eyes being strained and irritated by tears but he could make out only the slightest of details. Something that looked like a big arm that had socked itself into Arai. The blow apparently was enough to make the man keel over and loosen his grip.

Wasting no time, Gale closed hand into a fist, exposing his knuckles as he aimed his gloved hand right into Arai's face. "FUCK OFF!" With a few slight and discrete motions his glove sprayed a vile mix of chemicals into his face that would burn like getting hit with mace & pepper spray right into his eyes. Whether or not the spray had hit his mark he would flail wildly to get himself free from Arai's grip.

The man had said something weird about a formula, then claimed to her that he didn't intend on hurting her friend. While it was good to know this man spoke Japanese, she had no more interest in talk as he had already frightened Gale and was attempting to take him against his will. Her fist slammed into the man's solar plexus, causing him to bend over and recoil slightly from the blow. Assuming his grip was weakened, Juba used her other hand to yank Gale back, just after he sent out that spray of whatever that stuff was toward the attacker's face. "G-get behind me!" She told him, no time to type out some message on her phone. Whether he understood or not, she demonstrated what she meant by shoving him back toward the sidewalk behind them and then forcibly putting her body between the two men. Gale had already yelled for help, so hopefully people would begin to notice the scuffle beginning in this alleyway, but Juba wasn't about to take chances. If this man abducted her friend, she wouldn't be able to forgive herself. She had to stall, and boy was she good at doing that.

"Looks like it hurt. Why don'tcha try and catch meee?~" Juba teased, her large puppy dog-like eyes becoming more focused and dilated as a mischievous smirk spread across her face. She then began bouncing off of the walls of the alleyway, ricocheting from one side to the other as a way to act as a barrier of sorts between the aggressor and his prize. Her body was stretching and compacting unrealistically during this maneuver, and while it might be hard to get a handle on her position, her voice could be heard as she whizzed from left to right and at diagonals. "You can play with me and the coppers when they get here, or you can scurry away. Either way, I don't mind~" She definitely did prefer one of those options, but she would keep up this bravado as long as she could. It's true, her toon side did enjoy the excitement and was almost feeding off of it, but Juba herself was still quite scared of what was going to happen. Two attacks in the same day...in the same alleyway? She was never going this way ever again. She didn't know anything about this man or what he was capable of, but at the very least Gale was out of harms way, for now.

Still reeling from the punch's dithering effects, Ran felt his grip slip and the boy tug free from his loosened grasp. Sucking in his breath to replenish some of the oxygen that had been knocked free of his lungs earlier, the ex-criminal took a brave step forward, making an indistinct growling sound. His ears felt popped, still ringing Christmas bells from the earlier blow, and he was slow to regain his senses.

Not a step later the young man found himself face-to-palm with Gale's gloved hand. The lad yelled something like 'FUCK OFF!'- that, he recognized- before clenching and unclenching his hand. Ran only had enough time to put out yet another lame movie quip of "Talk to the hand.", before twelve forms of hell rained down right onto his face. His eyes burned and teared furiously, while his nostrils were filled with an overpowering pungency of searing intensity, the chemicals going to work immediately. Arai let out a strangled cry, before falling backwards, scrabbling at his peppered face. He'd eaten a whole lot of the mix right in his mouth too, and a toxic and odoriferous taste filled the insides, his tongue feeling like it was being par-grilled under a blue flame. Kicking wildly, his feet finding nothing, the young man struggled on the ground for a good dozen or so seconds, seeming as if he was wrestling with himself. "Holy... fucking... Christ..." He choked, in between a free flow of tears.

There was a swift exchange between the two, but their voices seemed distant and faraway, and Ran could not catch what had been said. Finding the floor properly, the young man managed to push himself upwards, still blinking furiously and weeping freely. Meanwhile, the girl had begun whizzing around him, though he couldn't be sure whether it was an application of her Quirk or the quintuple vision the pepper spray was giving him. She spat teases and taunts to him, her intention registered in the back of his brain even if he couldn't quite make out what she was saying. Growling again, Ran reached out with his bare hands, feeling for more ground to support himself up. He didn't want to bother with the girl; the boy was his real target.

Ignoring the girl inasmuch one could ignore a whirlwind around himself, Ran staggered about blindly, his vision nothing but a blurry congregation of shifting colors and dark shapes. Looking around for Gale Prism, he chose a darker patch from behind the winding streaks of the young girl, and lunged at it- of course, only to eat a faceful of brick wall that he had mistaken for the boy.

Gale's text had sounded rather urgent, an urgency apparent from just how short it was. She hadn't know him for that long but if there was one thing she knew he didn't do, it was talk in anything less then flowery Shakespearean cliches. For him to not even bothering to use complete sentences it had to be pretty serious, if this turned out to be a joke it was hardly a funny one. But there was something nagging her about his text. He said a guy was attacking him right?

Gale had told her all about his run in with a certain psychopathic, murdering first kiss stealing woman. Had she finally come back to finish the job? The first few days he stayed with her, she had noticed him lying awake a lot. At first she figured he just couldn't get used to the dark and lonely theatre but eventually it became unavoidable that he had to fall asleep. In the throes of his nightmares she had heard him whisper a name, a deceptively innocent sounding one. Not being one for subtlety she had asked him about it and without any further prompts he had confided in her everything about his encounter with the woman who's name he refused to mention. Instead he referred to her as that psychopath, or the face stealing bitch. Even just reading the name on the screen of her phone when she had asked him made him tremble and scratch the bandage covering his cheek without realising he was doing it.

She wasn't sure how much of his story had swollen in the retelling of it. The way Gale recalled it his assailant had almost seemed like a supernatural monster, an inhuman murderer so terrifying it shook him to the core of who he was. But Gale was pretty innocent in that regard, she suspected that in his mind he had made her out to be a lot more terrifying then she actually was. All monsters were in the end only human, but that thought had not been comforting at all after she read the text. Because he said it was a guy it might not be here, but if she could steel peoples faces well... all bet's were off weren't they?

She had looked at the location pin he had sent her, he had not strayed too far away but... it was a matter of life and death and every second counted. She had taken a deep breath then. As calmly as she had been able to, analysing the situation told her she couldn't get there right away. So she had done the next most logical thing; Dial 110 and tell a rather confused phone operator what was happening. Even now thinking back to that short call made her flush red. There was no way to call and use her text to speech app on her phone at the same time so she spoke, four short sentences in her own voice. The words had been forced out by the panic gripping her chest and the worry for what she realised was the first person whom she actually cared about in a very long time.

She had walked towards the door of her room, not the one leading outside no the one on the balcony where her 'workshop' was. She had flicked the light switch, lighting up the balcony, there it stood. She had been preparing this for the day of the entrance Exams but when those had arrived she was told she couldn't use any gadgets. Even now it wasn't complete... but she wasn't going to rush out unprepared either. The Police would take time to get there too she could only hope that he took that silly hoverboard with him so he could run away for a while...

Tokyo, A little later... In a certain alley.

From overhead of Juba and Gale, a rather familiar moment happened to them. In a scene that might trigger a moment of Deja vu a figure clad in a full body suit of a skintight dark grey polymer and pieces of metallic armour jumped down into the alley. The face of the new arrival was entirely obscured by an integral bike helmet with a darkened visor. The new arrival descended into the alley supported on a long string of what seemed to be some kind of gleaming silvery metal string that existed in some kind of state between a liquid and a solid. As the figure clad in their full body suit came down on the very same Garbage Bin that Arai had landed on not to long ago she shifted her foot just enough to kick the lid closed before landing on it with a crash that dented the metal around her feet before righting herself to her impressive height of just over 6 foot.

The metallic silver thread retracted down from the rooftop, it grew smaller and into a more defined shape. A shape that would be very familiar to Gale. A cybernetic arm covered in a massive gauntlet. She slammed her two fists together each covered in a distinct looking oversized mechanical gauntlet as she made what was in her mind a totally awesome and heroic entrance but considering the fact that the villain in this story just did pretty much the same thing might have the opposite effect on some poor souls watching her, admittedly intimidating, appearance descended into the alley. Al tough she did admittedly avoid falling into the actual rubbish.

Stepping down of the crumpled lid of the garbage bin, she turned towards gale, the voice that rang out was quite different from what he might have been expected. The anonymity of not having her face seen combined with the tense situation filled her with a confidence that she did not normally have. Though muffled by the helmet and still oddly high pitched it was a voice filled with an uncharacteristic confidence and more astonishingly... her own. Though, as she spoke in English the calming words she uttered might be entirely lost on poor Juba all the same.

"You look like your unhurt, this better not have been a Joke Gale. Where is this guy that was supposed to be attacking you?"
It was probably a good thing that Shiori did not share Juba's quirk, or there might have been some kind of ethereal arrow pointing to the wall just behind her where a very unfortunate Arai had just had an intimiate meeting with a wall. Or something to that extent.

He felt Arai's grip slip off his shoulders once Juba gave him a little tug. Finally getting out of his grip he flailed his limbs off the ground to get away from Arai in any means possible. Gasping as he kicked the ground to get away from him he only looked back to see that Juba was bouncing off the walls like she was a human pinball. And then for Arai to walk straight into a brick wall. As amusing as the sight was his heart was still pounding fear into his head as he unfolded his hoverboard. No doubt that he could get away if he jetted on this thing. But could he really just leave Juba to fend for herself? Was that really the chivalrous thing to do? After she had gone out of her way to actually stand and help him out of what probably would've lead to his own death?

He only had to flip a switch, just flip it and he could bolt out of there without looking back. It would be easy, and... she'd probably be okay. Yeah, with her toon like boy she'd probably be just fine. Yeah, he could go and get help and come back. She'd be alright... she'd be just fine!

He had convinced himself that Juba would have been alright, after all, she could inflate her arms. At least he thought so, she could probably hold out or get away if she really needed.

Clicking the hoverboard on he was about to jump onto it and whisk away before the sound of another loud crash made him lose balance before jumping and sent him falling onto his butt once again. Looking back he saw another trash bin that had been crushed watching as the tall metallic creature walked towards him. Was this person in cahoots with Arai? He kicked the ground as he tried to get away from it, not noticing that it was Shiori at first and was more concerned with not getting squished like the other trash bins were.

"NO WAIT PLEASE I'M TOO YOUNG!" He pleaded for a few seconds as he held his hoverboard as a shield in front of him. But as Shiori spoke he paused for a moment as he recognized the voice. "S-Shiori?" He seemed somewhat hesitant to trust her. After all, Shiori didn't speak that much so it was a bit of a surprise to him that she was actually using her voice to speak with him. But it would make sense, her size, the voice, the... inspired outfit. It had to be her.

"N-No I'm not joking! That guy had dug his... claws into my shoulder!" He pointed back to the alleyway where Juba was bouncing around and Arai had stumbled right into a brick wall. "I-It was him!" Considering the tearful face of the poor Brit he must have caused the young man some considerable terror, or he might've been inflating the scene. But considering his text and the bizarre scene in front of them it wasn't too far off to assume that he had done something to stress ou Gale and make him send that rapid text.

Juba had been bouncing around from wall to wall so she could block the assailant from his target, but a loud crashing noise caught her attention and startled the girl. As she tried to turn her attention to whatever had just came crashing down, making a very familiar sound, Juba lost her concentration and ended up smacking the top of her head into the side of the brick wall. It was rather humorous, because Arai had essentially just done the same thing at the nearly the exact same time. Juba stumbled back, her eyes spinning dizzily as she pointed above her head. "Hey, it's not even night time and I'm seeing stars. Ehyeheh-owie..." Juba joked, holding her head as a surge of pain hit her. There was still the issue of the attacker, however, so she tried to suck it up and keep her attention on him. That being said, it was impossible to ignore the new grey armored figure behind her talking to Gale.

"AHHH! Not another one!" Juba shrieked as she pointed at the frightening newcomer, though she immediately noticed something strange. She couldn't understand what they were saying, but it seemed like they knew each other. Also, this person wearing a suit of armor...was this a hero costume? Was she a hero?! Help had arrived! Juba lost of some that bravado she had been exuding earlier, returning to a more meek posture and her eyes becoming large and vibrant once more. "U-um, this man attacked my friend and I tried to help but I'm so glad you're here I was so scared..." Juba tried to explain, but she began to feel waterworks come up again and it took everything she had to keep them just in her eyes instead of rolling down her cheeks. She wanted to be strong and brave like she just was, but having two sets of attacks occur here in the same alley in the span of not even ten minutes was too much for her. All she wanted was to take her crafting supplies back home and build her stupid toy hammer...was that too much to ask? The fact that a hero had arrived was just too much a relief, and it felt like she might be able to rest easy now.

"A-are you here to help?"

Ran's eyes snapped open. When he came to, he found himself on the ground, the floor to his head. It was evident he'd spent some time blacked out, courtesy of a hard knock to his head, if his throbbing forehead and nose were any indication. All in all, it was really been a bad series of events from start to end; he'd appeared crawling out of a dumpster, gotten gut-punched by a scrawny twig of a girl, pepper-sprayed right in the face by the very target he had sought to catch, and then ran straight into a wall like it was platform nine and three quarters, except that this one didn't let him pass through like Harry Potter's.

It was a most bad impression, especially when he was supposed to be all scary and intimidating before the kids, so that he could haul Gale away. How was he supposed to have them take him seriously, if he spent half the time on the ground?

So sucking it up, hunking down, Ran wiped the tears and free-flowing snot away, rubbed where his ribs had been bruised by the young lady's Popeye punch, and got to his feet bravely, quickly hiding a few staggers as he wobbled unstably for a couple of moments, trying to pass it off as an odd sort of shrug. He got up, straightened, and managed to strike a grand pose with his hands planted at his sides, declaring bravely in English: "Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated!"

...Unfortunately, his declaration went mostly ignored, because now a third person had joined them, and the two were currently engaged in a conversation with her. He still hadn't quite regained most of his vision yet, but he could make out that she had a vaguely female form, with plated metallic armor of sorts on her. A Hero? Damn, he hoped it wouldn't amount to that. Ran definitely wasn't up for a fight at the moment- or any moment, really. Ran's policy was that if it came down to fight or flight, he'd almost always choose flight- a coward's way of living, perhaps, but he'd outlived most of the other dogs of war he'd known anyways. That was testament enough for him to keep living by his creed.

Ran furrowed his eyes, squinting past the tears left by the vile concoction to peer at the newcomer's frame. It seemed like she had her back to him- if he could strike now, he would be able to catch her unawares and put her out without a hussle, then he could get back to kidnapping Gale. A golden opportunity like this didn't come twice; Ran would take it. Rearing up, he prepared to launch a haymaker at the female gynoid. He stepped back, took a breath, cocked his arm, then surged forward, preparing to throw his strike-

-and then his feet twisted on itself and Ran was sent propelled sideways, sailing through the air before he landed back in the dumpster that both Shiori and he had landed in, his legs hanging out like a deadbeat.

So, it seemed the disorienting effects of the spray and the concussion from the punch hadn't quite went away yet...

"Which one?"
Shiori asked in a strangely calm tone of voice. Her helmeted head moved to look between the Redheaded girl who had just ceased bouncing through the walls and the idiot who had somehow managed to get himself 'dumped' into the dumpster using his own antics. Neither of them seemed very threatening. Especially not when the girl asked her if she came here to help. Adding to that the fact that Gale had mentioned his attacker to be a GUY and the only guy present had, despite his clumsy movements, definitely intended to attack well.. it became a forgone conclusion as she turned towards gale.

"Nevermind I got it, now stop being a coward and go see if the girl is OK. I will handle this."
Shiori walked forwards calmly in her approach to the dumpster. She raised her large mechanical gauntlet and uses the golden coloured hand to rub the wrist of her left arm which was covered by a smaller more streamlined gauntlet with a large fan build into the arm around the wrist. Throwing her right arm out to her side she flicked her wrist as she stopped short of reaching the dumpster and took a deep breath.

She was outwardly calm, but her heart was beating fast. She had been in lots of fights before, living on the streets made violence inescapable. Even before that pain was something she was so used to. It had become just another acquaintance you didn't really like but whom's occasional visits you tolerated. This though, this was certainly different. She had never been the person fighting to save and protect someone she cared about, even if the fact he just tried to run away made her feel a slight grudge. Behind the helmet she gritted her teeth in frustration, so much for the romantic hero angle huh?

Battle Theme

Shiori settled herself into a guard stance, turning her body sideways towards the dumpster with her right shoulder facing forward. The Cybernetic arm and her large gauntlet providing the most effective defence as she raised her fists in what was reminiscent of a basic boxing stance. Though her form was to rigid and her guard not perfect it still put up a solid defence as she let loose a three sharp jabs from her left arm, never extending her shoulder fully. It did not matter. As she lashed out her arm morphed and stretched sending the hefty gauntlet flying towards the dumpster and curving over the edge to rain the short barrage of jabs down on the guy taking a nap in the middle of the fight.

Strike first, strike fast and no mercy. She would not resort to dirty tricks or fight unfairly, but he had already tried for a sneak attack once before. Not to mention that he had attacked two unarmed students.. well there was no need to consider him chivalrous or indeed someone of honour whom she needed to give a fair fight. She would just settle it with the first attack!

Gale was at a loss for what words he ought to say. Thanks? Oh, thank god you're here? I don't know what I would do without you? Should he have leaped into her mighty arms that would no doubt be able to carry him off to safety?

Well, he couldn't get the words to come out because his eyes simply went wide as Arai cocked his arm for a surprise punch. He pointed as his hands and legs began to push themselves away from Shiori from the fear of Arai's impending attack.

"Ack!" Arai's sudden lunge had the boy scuttle away like a bug on the sidewalk as he tried to get away from what might've been a lethal attack from his perspective. Though luckily for him, Arai had managed to smack himself into a wall and then fumble his way into a trashcan. Juba mimicked the actions almost perfectly if only there had been another trashcan she might've been wobbling inside of it as well.

He blinked twice.

Did he really just manage to get himself dumped into a dumpster by tripping on his own two legs? Ha... ha ha...

He wanted to laugh but he was still hesitant to even take a chance at being cocky against someone that had the intent to kill him. What if he popped off the trash bin with a new form and trashed him!? He had barely even registered Shiori's first question as she turned to face him. "Wha? I-I... he's right there isn't-" He was cut off as Shiori had basically figured out who it was without him having to sputter the words out. But the next few words cut into his heart like a scalpel.

Wasn't it... wasn't it natural to be afraid? Why was he being called a coward for having been assaulted and wanting to get away!? He wasn't a hero, he never wanted to a crime-fighting hero in the traditional sense anyway! Why was he getting scolded for doing what any normal person would've done... what they should've done!? He would've gone and gotten help, and he would've come back to make sure that she was alright. That's... that's what he would've done. He was sure of it...

Still backing away he still considered bolting away. Shiori ould take care of it, she was strong. In many of the ways that Gale was weak, she was muscular, brave, undaunted by the possibility of being killed by this guy. Heck, she was talking in complete sentences! All that in the manner of just a few days. There was no way that he could be a hero like this, fighting criminals in the streets or trying to be the gallant knight he had made himself out to be.

He was a coward. He was about to just abandon the girl that had went out of her way to get involved with this maniac. And he was about to abandon her.

Abandon.

That was always a rough word that he hated hearing. And hearing it in the context that he was about to do it himself only made him hate himself and his actions more.

Taking a moment to look at the situation Shiori had already taken it upon herself to start punching the guy even when he was int he trash bin. Even if he hadn't been out at the time. And Juba was crying out pools of tears. And he had to go and get her somewhere safe. His hoverboard could handle two people, but it would be considerably slower. Grabbing her and just running off would be the next best thing. It would probably be hard for the guy to track them down through the busy crowds if they weren't riding on the distinctive hoverboards after all.

But that would mean abandoning Shiori.

His heart was beating madly from fear, anger, and the two conflicting emotions pulling on his brain to stay and ensure that she was going to be alright. Or to make sure that the girl had gotten somewhere safe. It was like a cinderblock pounding from inside his chest as he considered the two options. It was paralyzing, but he had to do something. Inaction was far worse than picking the lesser of two evils in his mind.

And with that, he steadied his heart if only for a second to stand up and look towards Juba. "Come one!" He ran toward her, grabbing her arm and pulling her alongside him through the busy streets. "I'll be back! I promise!" He called out to Shiori as he would hopefully be able to get Juba out of the stressful situation and somewhere safe. Yet at the same time, his teeth ground against one another, his frustration and anger at himself for taking the 'cowardly' way out.

So much for being chivalrous.

Hm.. she was the cybernetics user from the exams. McMaster, your footage didn't lie. mused the man lazily lounging in the clouds as the fight played out below him. A bloody mist caressing every inch of his body like the very clouds themselves.

"This punk really gives a bad name to Hunters, and these students haven't even bloomed, this is sickening. How could this fuck live with himself and honestly think he was a true Hero Killer... they aren't even true Heroes yet." he yawned with a stretch as his crimson aura cuddled around him, keeping him airborne.

Mercutio is always interested in the state of the world whether that be the side of Good or the Side of Evil and everything inbetween and having his partner on the inside of Yuuei was one of the single greatest ways to be able to scope out the future. The exams weren't broadcasted as usual which Mercutio found quite odd and wondered if something happened within to cause it, but that was neither her nor there as the time for that would come later.

A few of their students sparked his interest; Juba was one of them though it appeared Mercutio may have been wrong about what he saw within the film. Shiori, however, was nothing like the others and his study of the tapes held quite true to what he saw before him.

Shiori... she seems far different from them, not only in combat but mannerism as well. Possible prospect indeed. What is her motive...

He played over thought after thought in his head and tried to be rational about his choice. The itching feeling to engage crept up on him and began to be harder to resist the more he thought over it. This whole scenario wasn't right.

Should a student really have blood on their hands; not that she would automatically be a Hero in the end, but if she did it be best she was without blood on her hands.

It was decided then; between the disgust he held for this would-be Killer to the concern of the future, he began to fall from his skyward crimson throne and casually drifted through the air as he donned his gas mask to conceal his complexion. A devilish smirk twist his expression as he watched the damage Shiori inflicted on the makeshift hideaway the man coward within. Overall, she was everything Gavin's film showed and more... this pleased him to no end.

Crimson wrapped around his feet around seven meters above the Earth, hovering over top the dumpster itself. The man was in clear view of the young female student. Mercutio wondered if this scum had anything to say for himself and gave him a single moment to speak if the young one didn't end him before hand.

"You call yourself a Hero Killer, yet you attack those whom haven't yet blossomed. What a disgrace to those who strive to kill true Heroes and Symbols of Peace. I expect this from a two-bit villain, but not someone that should have standards. Do you really think this little of yourself?" his gentle voice cooed with concern. The crimson around his feet flurried to engulf his core and swirled with irritation around his body as though he was they eye of crimson tornado.

"You shouldn't need to have blood on your hands, Heroes don't kill. he nearly giggled, raising his right hand above his head.

"I admire your ability, but you have someone to lecture, do you not?" he chuckled, his head gesturing to the two that withdrew from before. "I have been watching for a bit, it was quite the show and you couldn't write this kind of entertainment, believe me I read One Piece." he muttered, his eyes focusing on the dumpster once again and a jovial tone in his voice.

The Delinquent
The hero didn't seem to react to Juba's words at all, though she did share a few words with Gale. Again, since it was in English, she didn't understand any of it and was left confused. Doesn't anyone speak Japanese...? She thought to herself, only having heard the villain before them utter a bit of it earlier. The man lunged forward for a surprise attack, something Juba noticed at the last second. Her eyes dilated in anticipation to use her quirks, but she blinked and watched in disbelief as the man quite literally dumpstered himself. Instead of crying, it was now time for laughing.

"Oh wow, that's hilarious, I know good slapstick when I see it. Well, it might've been a lot funnier if he wasn't attacking us at least..." She muttered that last part, though she couldn't help chuckling at least a little bit. The hero then went on the offensive, sending out a short succession of punches that seemingly stretched. It was odd, reminding Juba somewhat of her own elasticity. She highly doubted that they had the same quirk, but it would definitely be something she'd ask about later, if given the chance.

Enthralled in the fight occurring before her eyes, Juba suddenly felt herself get yanked as Gale took her hand and tried to lead her to the busy streets. Since it was without much warning, it surprised the toon and caused her to trip, falling flat on her face. "Owie, my head again..." At least she wasn't seeing stars this time. "I'm okay, I'm okay." She reassured Gale, and while the frightened girl would've gone along happily with him, leaving the hero work to a professional, a newcomer caught her attention. This man FLOATED down from the sky, a crimson aura about him. "Aw come on, really?" Juba asked no one in particular, sounding more exasperated than afraid when she said this. This alleyway just needed to be destroyed in its entirety at this point.

Juba's arm stretched as Gale tried to pull her along, but Juba latched onto his hand and tugged him back, pointing over to the imposing arrival. The fellow redhead began speaking (in Japanese thank god) and labeled the attacked a "Hero Killer." So was that truly what he was? For what reason would he have to take Gale? Juba remembered something about a formula being mentioned...so did he really intend on killing Gale? Kidnapping him was no better, but some of it just wasn't adding up. Then he mentioned how the hero shouldn't dirty her hands with killing, which confused Juba even more. They were planning on killing him? Jail made sense, the police were surely on their way and it was an alley where he'd easily get cornered. There was no reason to take it this far.

Juba wasn't certain of the attacker's current state, given Juba witnessed a few punches get launched into the dumpster he had fallen into. Despite that, and despite her fear of everything that had happened today, she couldn't sit by and do nothing. Juba had very little self respect and constantly doubted herself, but she was empathetic toward others almost to a fault.

The toon let go of Gale's hand, stretching her body forward until she was standing in front of the dumpster, before the crimson man. A wily smirk spread across her face, though a twinge of apprehension could be seen in it as well. "I really don't like this bumbling bozo, I'm sure there's a snug jail cell waiting for him somewhere, but killing him wouldn't be funny at all. It would really kill the mood." She giggled to herself at this joke, though for a moment she reverted to a more timid pose, whispering under her breath. "Oh my god that was a horrible joke I'm so sorry...Also I love One Piece too..."

Ran half clambered, half crawled his way out of the dumpster, hitting the ground with a little roll. He groaned and shook his head; his eyes still stung, much like the rest of his face and his tongue, but his vision had mostly returned. Turning upwards, Ran only had a short few moments to take in the newcomer to the scene properly, before she surged towards him in a swift attack.

It was a gynoid, as he had thought, and though her facial features were obscured by a visor of her helmet, she had a head of long, flowing golden locks that distinguished her as a woman. Her armor, though crude, was effective and provided coverage for all her vital areas. Her arms, too, were adorned in metal, especially the right arm, over which she had worn some sort of heavy mechanical equipment, perhaps to provide a stronger, more powerful punch.

And that was all the time Ran had to take in; for the next second this girl was upon her, jabbing out with her heavier-equipped arm, throwing out a swift array of pinpoint jabs his way, her very arm stretching with her as she did.

Too late to attempt a dodge, Ran instinctively brought up his arm over his ear and turning slightly to the side to allow his tucked arm to bear the brunt of the blows. Tucking his head in and bracing, Ran allowed the girl's punches to pummel into his shoulder, taking backpedalling steps to retreat as he soaked in the punches.

Only after managing to back out of her immediate reach, Ran slightly lowered his guard. The arm which he used to guard himself stung where she had hit him; and judging from her stance and the way she handled herself, it was evident that this woman was a combatant much more familiar to practical combat compared the the other two from before. Ran gritted his teeth. Yet another stumbling block to run into, when all he wanted was Gale- Gale!?

Goddammit, where was Gale?!!

The boy was nowhere to be seen. Gosh fucking darn it. Fuck. Fuck! Sure, Ran was used to being bent over and fucked in the arse all the time, but this was taking bad luck to a new level.

"Enough is enough! I have had it with these motherlovin' Heroes in this moneyfishin' alleyway!" Ran raised his hands, straightening his fingers into his knifehand stance- and then froze.

Because at that moment, cruel Fate must have decided to grant him his wish, in the worst, most ironic twist ever.

Ran turned around slowly, a cold chill washing over him as the drawl of a callous, ammoral voice rang out behind him, lazy and relaxed, if only because he believed that nothing could possibly pose a danger to him.

"M..."

His name wasn't a secret. In fact, he brandished it proudly, wearing it like a fucking big banner in neon lights, playing himself off as the lead singer of an indie band that hit the clubs downtown. But only few knew of the passing rumors, the hearsay of trails of blood and mayhem he left in his wake.

"M..."

There was a swagger to his step, a boldness pronounced in his bearing. His face was set in a permanent smug pug, eyes lazily half-closed, and crimson streamed from him in a curling, vicious mist.

"...Mercutio?"

Ran could not keep the waver out of his voice. He'd heard of this man before, of the dark alleys he'd painted red, of vermin he'd left in his wake. But he'd disappeared; or at least, Ran had believed, for good.

But this evening, however, Mercutio of Demous Regalis had chosen to grace this dingy little alley with his presence.

Ran's apple had gotten caught in his throat. His voice was very tight, and the air was suddenly harder to breathe. Why? Why had this madman chosen to resurface here, here and now, of all places?

"...Hero Killer.... what...?" Ran asked, bewildered. It was the first time he'd even heard of such a term; Hero Killer? ...Granted, it did have a nice ring to it. But Ran had never killed any Heroes.

Well. Not exactly true. You did take a couple out with that blast, remember? And there was that time with that cheating scam duo...

Not now, internal voice. I'm busy convincing myself of my innocence. Ran reprimanded his inner conscience crossly for interrupting his place of self-denial. Well, alright, he might have directly or indirectly been the cause for a Hero here and there, but they had been mostly byproducts of collateral damage!

...Mostly.

But before he could say anything more in his defence, the young girl from earlier had zipper forward, and- and- was she defending him!?

"Girl, are you crazy?! D'ya know who he is? Get out of the way!" He yelled, a note of fear creeping into his voice, elevating his tone a pitch higher. Ran did not want innocent blood spilled on his account.

Somehow, in the span between letting her fist fly and her jabs connecting, her target had managed to crawl out of the dumpster. Rather then having her punches miss because her target moved out of the way though, they had simply veered of course and followed him as he only just managed to put up some kind of defence against her initial barrage. He retreated far enough out of range that he seemed to think she wouldn't be able to punch him... if she were any other person constrained by the length of her arms that is.

But after her initial barrage he seemed to finally be getting in the mood for this. He even screamed out another bad English movie reference before getting ready to counter attack. And then he froze, looking up to something and mumbling something that she could care less about.

"Where are you looking at!"
Shiori yelled out as she took a step back in order to switch her guard out. With her left hand now facing forwards she pulled back her cybernetic arm and let fly with a right straight that was aimed for only one thing. To sock the guy directly in the head when he made the mistake of getting distracted in the middle of the fight!

"BBROOOOKEN MAGNUUUUM!"
A slicking sound could be heard softly reverberating through the alley just before her fist hit the apex of her swing. A sudden roar of flames erupting out of the end of her gauntlet. Faster then one could blink it went from a punch to a projectile being launched straight forwards as her fist shot of the end of her arm and straight for Arai's face!

"All of you shut up and get out of my way, I'm fighting here, not having a tea party!"

Alright, he was nearly around the corner. And he could feel Juba's hand still with his, though he felt as though she were pulling back against him and he found it harder and harder to actually pull her along. The tension became so strong that he couldn't take another step forward. "Hey what's wrong-" As he turned back he could see that he had stretched out Juba's arm as she had definitely stayed behind. If he had shared the same quirk as Juba he might've actually had his eyes pop out of his head in surprise. Why was she so insistent on being there!? Was the threat of actually getting killed not enough to warrant a quick escape!?

But before he could voice his complaints the tension and Juba's tug had slung him right back to where he was only a few second ago. Landing him square on his back, and with a mild headache from bouncing along the way.

"Oh come on..." He groaned as he blinked a few times to realize that he wasn't dreaming, and this sadly wasn't a nightmare either, and he was in fact in harm's way one way or another.

It sure as hell didn't help that someone was literally walking on air. WALKING! ON! AIR! Who does that!? No really, who the heck does that!? He had to have been dreaming, or having a nightmare because it was just one wild action right after another.

Rubbing his eyes, and scanning the individual who was, in fact, walking from the sky to meet them he was amazed at the quirk he held. One to be able to manipulate energy, well certain kinds, but energy, all the same, was quite the feat. Though he didn't look like a hero, and walking down like some super villain from a video game didn't make him look all that friendly either. Even if his words would indicate that he had come to help them for one reason or another.

Gale slowly stood back up to his feet watching as Juba had tried to put herself in harms way to keep Arai from getting the living daylights knocked out of him. Why would she do that? This was the guy that was literally trying to kill him just a few moments ago if not for the fact that they managed to hurt him enough that he could scramble off. Now she wanted to put her "What are you- DON'T STAND IN THE WAY OF HER PUNCH!" He tried to pull the girl once again from behind, wrapping his hands around her stomach. He wasn't strong, but he'd just have to grin and bear the fact that one way or another he had to get her out of this situation, and more importantly, get himself out of there too without having to deal with all these nutjobs that were showing up out of nowhere.

He would attempt to pull her once again away from the situation and hope that they were at least not in any immediate threat or danger. Then again, considering that Mr. Bloodmist here could control and manipulate energy was there really anything that would keep them safe? He wasn't sure as to what control the guy would be able to manipulate it, but really he just had to keep things calm... at least until the police or a hero arrived and he could actually get somewhere safe.

As for Shiori's comment about them being loud and this not being a party. Gale simply responded.

"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK I'VE BEEN TRYING TO DO!?"

The stress of everything happening at once had begun to take its toll on Gale's temperament. What was once fear and a flight response had been boiling and mutating into anger and frustration for the situation. Quite the twist on the Brit's usual passive and fearful nature as his brow furrowed from all of these annoying situations popping up one after another. With a furrowed brow he put Juba down and pointed at the ground as she looked at Juba. "Stay. Here." He for dear god hoped that his message would've been made clear for the cartoony girl to just stay put and not interfere with anything.

He then turned to the man who was floating in the air, "Look! I don't care who you are, or what you want to do here, but can you please for the love of god just sod off! Unless you're some kind of hero or a messenger from the police we don't need you!" Despite being quite powerless, and in reality, probably should've been asking for help he had nonetheless gone out of his way to lash out against the red misted, air walking man. For better or worse, though, he had at least stayed by Shiori's side.
